Good: It is a large nail salon & rarely a wait to have my nails done. I appreciate they are open on weekends! Bad: Be careful & clear on what services cost as they don't verbalize add-ons & I've been hit with a bigger bill than expected 3 of the ~10 times I've been there. For example, they only remove old & add new dip, they do not clean under nails or trim cuticles at all. They charged for a manicure + dip when I asked tech to trim cuticles; did not do any massage or other things that make a manicure. Tech did not explain the charges. I had similar experience with brow waxing, & was charged more than expected. I went for a dip 1 week ago & 3 of my nails have cracked. I noticed they did not use OPI dip for the last 2 coats, perhaps that made the difference? I will find a new nail salon. read more

Had a fantastic experience here today! I've been trying to find a nice, clean, updated nail salon around town, and this is it!! Had a great pedicure with David (Minh) - he worked wonders on my sensitive calloused feet & was a perfectionist when it came to the polish. I had warned him that my feet are sensitive & he checked in with me throughout the pedi to make sure I was ok. Another David did my dip mani & that was great too! The salon is very updated & clean. It's spacious & has a relaxing aesthetic. They were playing very relaxing instrumental music. I was offered water or wine. Making my appointment online was super easy & convenient. My only complaint is that this salon is so far from where I live, but I will likely make the drive for the atmosphere & service...it's worth it! Please open another location near Crestwood/Irondale! So I'm torn on my review and I'll tell you why: It's very clean. They're nice when they address you, and they didn't rush or pressure me. That was a good change of pace from similar salons. The finished product was good. No torn cuticles or discomfort. Nothing wrong with that portion of the service. The space is large and comfortable. That's all the good. Now, for the bad. I waited half an hour past my appointment time to be tended to, only acknowledged once. They had no idea what I booked and kept asking me what pedicure I'd had. He then read the description off of the menu on the chair which was completely different than the menu on their website, which I'd used to book. It was supposed to come with a 20 minute foot massage, and of course, it was nowhere near that long and not even mentioned on the laminated sheet in the salon. Why would your website offerings not match your salon offerings?! The old salon I used when I lived out of state started a timer when they sat down and began the massage so you didn't get cheated out of what you paid for and I truly miss that feature. I'd come back here when 1) I'm not in a rush, and 2) I just wanted basic manicure/pedicure services. I definitely would not pay $75 again to wait and get a foot soak I can buy on Amazon for $5. The simple services are likely very satisfactory, but they shouldn't pretend they're a spa when they're not offering anything like that. I got acrylic nails and all 10 are perfect. The decor was so relaxing along with the music playing. I don't like posting a not so happy experience but here we are.....When I called to make my appointment, I asked if anyone there could do nail art and it was confirmed that they could. I then asked the price for a pedicure and a facial wax of eyebrows/lip/chin. I was quoted the prices and made my appointment. The pedicure was nice but when I reminded her to do the nail art, she was a little upset, and it seemed to cause a bit of a commotion in the salon and she let me know she had a client waiting (I was a paying client too) but she went ahead and did a VERY simple Nail art design, And quoted me a price that was fair. I then got my wax done with another lady. She did a fine job, except I specifically asked for no thin eyebrows and what did I get....THIN EYEBROWS!! When I went up to pay... they definitely charged me more than what I was quoted on the phone and charged me more for the nail art than what I was quoted! The receptionist corrected her TWICE but she (the lady who did my wax) insisted on the overcharge.....Right in front of me. This lady wasn't even the one who did my pedicure/art. I was overcharged $15 dollars. That may not sound like a lot but when you are quoted one price and charged another, it feels like I was taken advantage of and that's not appreciated. At that point, I felt uncomfortable, didn't trust them and knew I was not coming back, so I just paid my bill and left never to return. I truly am sad about this experience as I really thought this could be my nail/wax salon going forward. My daughter and I came to get manicures and while her gel manicure came out fabulous, my dip did not and I was not happy with it...at all. Not only did the tech dip only twice for the lighter color I selected (it should have been three dips) and he did not apply a top dip coat, resulting in being able to see through my nails, and one of my nails is only 50% smoothed out and is rough textured and not shiny at all. I've always had good service in the past so I don't know what the deal was this time. I'd never used Kalvin before and requested Tina, lucky for my daughter she got Tina and had fabulous results. This is expensive for someone like me to do on a regular basis but I do my best to treat myself because it makes me feel pretty. This time I'm not feeling that way. I feel like corners were cut and a speedy job was performed because they were shorthanded. We waited almost an hour before any tech could start on us which was not the biggest deal but if I'd known the result would be so unpleasant, l'd rather they had just turned me away than to do a mediocre (at best) job for the price they charge. I spent $104 today and regret it. Now that a day has passed, there's a huge crack in the paint/dip on my thumb nail. Oh, I forgot to mention that I had several places where skin and nail were stuck together with the solutions. I don't know if I'll ever go back quite honestly. read more

My daughter and I have been using the salon for quite some time and have never really had any major issues. Last week we both had our nails done. I had mine done with the dip and my daughter had hers done with gel polish. Not even two days later her gel polish chipped on two nails. I told her to go back and have them repair the 2 chipped nails. I explained that they might charge a fee, but it would not be the full $50. I sure was wrong!! Even after trying to explain what had happened, they proceeded to do all of her nails again and charge her another $45. Im definitely going to think twice before using this nail salon again, and will probably find another one. What's even more upsetting is the fact that we are regulars at this salon. Very disappointed in the service. Asked for the basic pedicure due to a time limit I had. Picked a color from card. went to pay and the fee was 24 more dollars than base price. Was shocked and could not understand her and after 10 minutes of arguing, finally understood she had used gel on toes and that was extra. I picked color, not gel. Did not ask for gel and did not want. Did not realize either as the polish was same process (unlike gel nails) except for uv light which should have been my clue but I was still unaware. The issue was I was not prepared to pay more and should have been asked. The girl I did it with picked color from same card but they did regular so we were unaware. I would have turned down gels if given that option. I had her break a 20 and she kept 10 assuming that was her tip. Quite brazen after she argued with me. But it hasn't even been a week and two of my nails just popped off... they definitely didn't look great when I left, crooked and random nails longer than the other, but I thought hey maybe I'm just being too critical. I called ahead and booked an appointment for an acrylic fill-in for my daughter at 4:30p. My daughter and I arrived roughly 10 mins before the set appointment and the salon was not packed or busy. This was the first time we had ever been to this nail salon and my daughter desperately needed her nails done as one of them had broken off causing her pain. We stood at the front for about 2 mins even though they saw us when we walked in. Finally a tech said from his working station "hello, may I help you?" I said out "hello, I have an appointment for 4:30p" he just said ok and nothing else. Another employee who looked like the owner also heard me but no one proceeded to inquire what service we booked and where we should go to pick out nail colors. So my daughter and I proceeded to walk over to the gel nail colors so she could pick out colors and we sat down. Other customers were just staring at us like we didn't belong there. Still, we just minded our business and looked at nail colors. Then our appointment time came and no employees proceeded to come over and address us. A white woman came into the salon and the employee that looked like the owner smiled and said hello and told her to sign into the iPad at the front. So I proceeded to go over and sign into the iPad too thinking this would speed up things. Since this was my first time there I had to create an account with them using my phone number and name. I did so and sat down. After 15 mins past our set appointment time I got up and respectfully said to the employee that looked like the owner that I had an appointment at 4:30p and no one had come over to address me or my daughter. This was said out in front of the salon and because others could hear, she quickly started the process of confirming our appointment and the service my daughter was getting. She then asked if we wanted something to drink and who the person was that would be doing my daughter's nails. 30 minutes after our set appointment time my daughter had her nails started on. The technician was not mean but didn't say much and quickly did my daughter's nails. I've never seen a person do nails so fast, as if they wanted us gone. Let me be clear, my daughter and I were the only black customers there and the others were white and being treated very nicely. The whole time we were there, we would look up and meet the gaze of other customers. It was a very uncomfortable atmosphere. The salon is filled with Bible scriptures on the wall but this was far from a Christ-like atmosphere. My daughter seemed happy with her nails, like any 14 yo girl would be. She got a simple French manicure style but I have seen better jobs done elsewhere. When I paid for the service and even tipped out of kindness, which I deeply regret but was trying to walk in love as a TRUE Christian, the technician didn't even say thank you and have a good day. I am highly educated and make a 6 figure salary but I was obviously sized up from the moment I walked in as a black woman. I will never patronize this racist establishment again and I encourage others to stay away, especially if you happen to look like me, unless you want to be treated as a 3rd class citizen. read more
