I've tried several nail salons around Augusta, and this one is by far the cleanest I've found. They clearly take sanitation seriously and follow all cleanliness regulations, which makes such a difference when you're getting services done. They also recently got new massage chairs, which made the pedicure experience even more relaxing and comfortable. On top of that, the nail technicians are incredibly talented--the nail artwork is some of the best I've seen. Every design is detailed and beautifully done. I switched to this salon after my nail tech went on maternity leave. I always get builder gel manicure and then gel polish on top. The quality is good, I am pretty picky so I typically find small mistakes wherever I go, but nothing absurd from Royal. The staff tend to be loud/chatty between themselves but I don't mind it much. There isn't a huge selection of gel colors to choose from but I've always found something that I like. Will keep going back while I'm in Augusta! read more

When you first walk you will notice the salon and spa has inviting aesthetics and decoration. You are then greeted with friendly staff. I have never in my life thought I would find a place that would ever mess up my nails SO bad that I would leave a review... this place has proved me wrong. My nails are ALL crooked and all different thickness. In person you can see there's little bumps so it was not buffed right. They did not clean my nails at the beginning and at the end when they told me to wash my hands that was it... it was to simply wash my hands which did nothing. Under my nails look insane. read more

Went for the first time today with my mother in law. She got a manicure, I got a pedicure. It's a very bright, clean space. The techs were all very polite and efficient. I explained to the guy who did my feet that I've got spinal nerve damage that makes one of my feet hypersensitive and he was so gentle with me while still getting the calluses off. My mother in law enjoyed her manicure and the selection of gel polishes available. The selection of regular polishes is great too, but the SNS selection is where they really shine. So many options! Edit: had to change from a 5 star. I got home and took off my sandals and wtf! My foot still has rough skin hanging off?! This is not even the foot he was extra gentle with. Before today, I would have given 4 or 5 stars. I have always had great interactions with all staff and have had great experiences when I have gone to the salon in the past. My experience today, however, was less than ideal. The man who I had today finished the entire pedicure (regular pedicure) in 10 mins. He did not even put the cuticle gel on the heel scrubber when he scrubbed my feet. He aggressively cut my cuticle, made me bleed, and did not even apologize. He then did my SNS nails with tips and they were barely shaped. I had multiple fingers that were concave and bumpy. Another woman who worked there saw I was unhappy and had him redo a few fingers, but there was barely any improvement. I hope I have a better experience next time. read more

With as seemingly nice and spacious this place is and for it being fairly new, they need more staff. Speaking of staff, they weren't the most friendly or accommodating. I was already annoyed with the lady in the front who was propped back in her chair looking uninterested in your business as ever. They also sat a girl next to me for a pedicure and had her feet soaking for at least 25 minutes with no one tending to her. The lady who was in the middle of scrubbing my feet was the one who actually prepared her soaking tub with gloves already covered in my dead skin particles and scrubbing cream. First of all, rude and gross. The girl kept politely asking if she could have the water hotter so the lady kept putting her hand under the running water looking at her, like, it's not hot? Obviously, not if she has to keep telling you. The tub looked like it was going to run over. Maybe ten minutes went by and another lady asked her if the water was hot enough, which it was not, and then she finally remedied the situation. But, still no one helped the girl because they clearly don't have an adequate amount of technicians for the amount of customers coming in. Eventually the poor girl wiped her feet and got up to leave and one of the workers looked up and told her, I'm almost done, I'll help you! I'm glad she left and took her business elsewhere. I got a pedicure and there's an air bubble on my big toe. I was in the middle of drying my toes and writing this review when the lady approached me to say that my toes were already dry. This was a horrible experience the nail tech that I had was on his phone the whole time through his headphones. My daughter wanted purple nails with a heart I repeatedly asked him about if he was gonna put a heart on her nails to which he said yes and never did. I asked for a full set and they are crooked very very thick and somewhat painful he filed on my hand because he wasn't paying attention. I showed him a picture and he said he couldn't do it so we tried to find something simpler that he could do and it looks nothing like the picture. Paid $75 for a paraffin pedicure with SNS on my nails without a manicure. I wish the job looked as good as the interior design on the inside, however, My cuticles were everywhere....and polish was on my cuticles and the polish didn't even cover my whole toe nail. The paraffin wax was soooooo hot, but he refused to believe me and told me to sit still because I was the only one of his clients to say it was hot....Overall, not worth it for the price I paid. I came in yesterday really looking forward to getting an SNS manicure here. I had read reviews and seen photos of inside and it seemed like an awesome salon. I arrived yesterday without an appointment as most reviews said they were helped quickly and I didn't mind having to wait a few minutes. After waiting about 20 minutes I was sat at a manicure station and waited another 10. A woman started soaking off one of my hands and then ran around the salon to help other clients and greet. At that point, I told her I should just soak off and leave but she said she would be able to finish my manicure. I even saw a couple get sat for pedicures and the woman was completely finished before anyone started on the man. I work in a salon in Columbia and understand being short staffed, but seating people early and having them wait through a full service is not ideal. As I got the girl to warm up she was awfully sweet, but her job was rushed and I do have a few nails that are a bit smudged and uneven. I paid $50 for an SNS manicure which is on par with other salons, but for this much money I really wish more time was taken on me. The icing on the cake was as I was exiting the salon (after paying and tipping my tech) a male employee was trying to stop me to get me to pay, and other clients who saw me pay even had to tell him I did. Royal Nails, I really wanted to love you and make you my salon in Augusta. With a few more techs working on a Saturday I think you would succeed, if I'm going to be spending $50 on just a manicure I want to leave with a job well done. read more

I had a mimosa while I got my toes done then I wanted a cheetah print design I had seen on Pinterest and my stylist, Nancy, said she would try her best. I went here with a friend and had a great experience, even though this was not my regular place, I returned after two weeks, by myself. I spent $75 to have my nails and toes done, before tip and left. The next morning I woke up and I had two nails broken, literally broken from sleeping?!! I've been getting my nails done for over 20 years and I've never experienced anything like this. Upon inspecting more closing some nails weren't filed smoothly. So, less than 24 hours later, I return to my regular nail place to have two nails repaired and my nails and toes repainted since they didn't have the color I chose at Royal, which ended up being $52, because I get gel polish. I refused to give them another moment of my time. Their set up is beautiful, however, I feel robbed. Never again. read more

well.... I was in yesterday for a full set of nails and a pedicure. The service was not in the past. I was greeted when i walked in. waited about 10 minutes to get to pedicure chair only to have to wait another 30 minutes to get water in basin. i asked for the BASIC pedicure which is $25. the lady kept pressuring me to get the most expensive ones which i declined. finally got pedicure and she basically refused to use regular polish which i wanted. pedi was okay but not great. then i get to a table to get nails and had to wait another 30 to 40 minutes. the guy could speak NO english. he started on nails and when i told him i wanted a design he had to call speak to a couple of other gentleman to see if they could do it. i didnt het to wash my hands before they were polished to remove the residue. the gentleman that done my design done a great job on it. other salons i have been to would lotion hands and massage them and arms. not here! i was charge $130 plus tip. that is insane. the guy didnt want to give me a reciept. i didnt think to look at it at the time. well went to write it down today and noticed why it was soooo high. i was charge $25 for diamond on nails which im guessing it is for design.i was charged $50 for a full set of crystal glitter set.... but i have no glitter of any sort on my nails. then i was chage $50 for the DELUXE pedi which i did NOT receive, and then im charged a $5 nail repair fee which i did NOT get. this salon is very dishonest. they were Very UNPROFESSIONAL.
