Definitely not the best I've had in Augusta and far from the worst, but I definitely was not satisfied with the service. I don't think the older woman who did them was super familiar with doing dip powder sets, because she kept having one of the men in the shop kind of looking over her and showing her what to do or what to fix. For the first 20mins I was the only customer in the shop and the silence was awkward, tv off, no music, and all the staff on their phones. I was needing a fill really bad and couldn't wait for an appointment at my other location due to a time restraint, next time I will suffer through it and wait if I have to, I just wasn't very satisfied here at all. read more

He was very pleasant and kind. He took great care of me and allowed me to just sit back and close my eyes. Excellent service! Be prepared to pay more than $50 plus each trip for ONE service. I'm use to spending these amounts when getting a pedi also!!!! Upon visiting this facility, I was prepared to pay at least $50 for the service I needed. It was way past due to get my gel nails done since my big move. They were cracking and about to come off. Lol. I was able to get an early appointment and a very nice gentleman went to town. He removed them and gave me a new set of acrylic. How much do you thing that should have cost me? Well after I got done looking and feeling cute, he says "$70,". ???? Huh? what? Why? Guess you couldn't explain this $70. I feel that, to take them off , they must have charged $15-$25, full set of acrylic $45, and the design which I received so many compliments for, was a whopping $10-20 flat. I really don't know what the prices are here. And they will not tell you unless you ask. So if think you're going to show up to this shop with an agenda , it may get changed due to lack of know how. My second visit ..ugh... She , whoever she is, was drilling my nails vigorously..why ebony why? (Quote from the players club) anyway . In my head, I was like naaah this doesn't hurt . After getting through this torture, I showed her a design , even asked her opinion for an expert answer. She replied that she could do this style with marble..yay..I'm excited. So I decided to give this place a try. Eric the nail technician was very helpful. He introduced me to "SNS nails...dipping powder therefore promotes nail strength and nail growth, for more attractive and healthier nails. This means that if you soak the nail polish off, your natural nails will be longer and healthier than with any other alternative gel nail polishes available on the market." The good thing is it was applied beautifully. It's very shiny end product. The unusual thing I'm not too crazy about is the color outcome looks grainy like a slight shimmer, which I'm not into shimmers. The color sample does not look like the finished product. The end result looks darker and grainy shimmer. Eric said SNS could last up to 3 weeks! I'll keep you posted. read more

They were nice and helpful since we are new to the area. My husband got the royal pedicure and he enjoyed it. He didn't feel rushed. From out of town, currently here for training and looking to get my nails done. Being in the service, SNS is the way to go but getting the perfect natural color to match my nail beds while be in regulation is difficult to some places. But not for Vu! He is so sweet and happy, made me feel right at home and fixed my nail shape (which was shaped badly by another salon here in Augusta...) and took the time make sure I loved every thing he did per hand. He made sure to keep my tips strong but not thick. It felt like I was a regular customer there. I'd highly recommend Vu to anyone who needs a friend, great nails and just happiness overall. Ugh. Just know what you are getting yourself into... Eric is nice enough and a pretty decent nail tech. Unfortunately, he has more of an interest in quantity over quality. When he says "come now" just know he means come and they will "get to you as soon as possible." I went in after nabbing a last minute "appointment," got my pedi done while my nails soaked off and then waited an hour plus to get my nails done as he took a walk-in, knowing I was next... THEN he rushed my service. Meaning they look halfway amateur. Definitely not worth the $70 I was charged for my nails alone. It's quite frustrating... especially after unexpectedly waiting for a walk-in who came in after you to finish her services before you. On top of that, I requested that he push back/trim my cuticles bc that is a basic step at other salons, then he tells me he will do it later... later is upon us and he asks me if I still want my cuticles trimmed. I say yes. He asks me if I am sure because they "look fine." Again, I say yes. Then he goes on to say that will cost an extra $13 because that is a manicure. I found that quite interesting. So needless to say, I declined. Now I am sitting here, a few hours later looking at my nails in total disappointment, peeling acrylic powder off of the skin of every finger despite asking if he had something to remove it. Came here for a French gel manicure, when removing my old gel the lady started off with a metal bit and not soaking off, I had to request for the soak off and even with the soaking she filed the rest off with the drill and took like half of my natural nail off with it. The lady seemed irritated the rest of the time and the prep work was not good at all, before laying the base coat the nails were bumpy and when she put down the base color the gel was like almost gone so that also came out bumpy and had bad edges. EDIT: I went back to the salon and she fixed my polish for free and the manager apologized. I got the jelly pedicure, and I loved the jelly, the mask, paraffin wax and massage. I had a great experience while I was there. However, I think the lady used cuticle oil instead of top coat, and the nail polish didn't set right. I let it dry a good 15 minutes and it felt dry when I left. I ran to Walmart, and an hour later when I got home my polish had come off my toe, and I could rub the polish off my nail. read more

This pedicure was the quickest pedi I have ever received. I was not asked any questions regarding my pedi. My toenails were not cut or cleaned under. I had to ask for it to be done. i called to see if they were busy and when i should come. i was told to come in around 5 (they close at 6 on sundays) for a pedicure and acrylic overlay with gel polish. its the weekend before labor day so i assumed i would be waiting and didnt mind. i came in around 4:45ish and only had to wait a little before being seated at a pedicure chair. however they were still pretty busy so my feet were soaking for a good 30-45 minutes until someone could do my pedicure. i changed my mind and decided to take off the acrylic overlay and get tips with ombre instead. the nail tech (who i assume is the owner) informed me that it would cost $60. which is fine, i understand ombre takes longer and uses more product. by the time my pedicure was done it was a little past 7 and we had not yet to get started on my nails. i had a lot of patience surprisingly lol. i did not leave the salon until 8:10pm. the owner apologized for the long wait and even gave me a discount. for future reference, an appointment would probably be best so that they can get to you right away and you'll be in and out. aside from the long wait, this place is very clean, inviting, and friendly. they dont make you uncomfortable and is always checking to see if you're okay. lindsey did my pedicure and will probably do my pedicures from now on. the prices are reasonable and i will definitely be coming back. thanks for a great experience! read more

Well I can't comment on the service because I never received it. I called ahead and was told that there was space for my husband and I to receive pedicures at the same time. They said give them 30 minutes. Called back 3 minutes prior to the 30 minute mark to ensure space was still available. They said yes. We waited 10 minutes and were seated. My husband received his treatment and I decided to pass because by the time he finished mine would have been just starting. Had I known they actually didn't have space for both of us I would not have wasted my time. Looooooong wait times. He said he like his pedicure, I just don't like being lied to. Update: the lady at the nail shop read my review and got loud with me insisting that calling ahead and making an appointment are different. She stopped me 2 times. I told her that all she had to say was they were busy and we would have gone somewhere else instead of making us wait. Other nail shops have taken the initiative to book appointment slots in advance when they state they will have time to take you when you call. Apparently me calling was not making an appointment. All other shops treat that as an appointment. I will be attending another nail shop that understands proper business protocols and call in/appoints. read more

Hit or miss. Just got my eyebrows waxed. Chi or G. I'm not really sure what her name is, but she didn't do a good job. When I expressed to her that I wasn't satisfied and didn't want her to continue plucking at them, she tried to tell me how "sometimes the eyebrows will..." idk what she was going to say but I let her know that I've received a better service to them before so we aren't going to blame my eyebrows today. I chose this salon based on other Yelp! reviews and I'm thoroughly pleased! I see Eric for acrylic nails and gel polish. He listens to what I want -- shape and color wise -- and helps me figure out what color / style will be great. The nails themselves last better than any other nails I've had. I will continue to go here. I can make appointments and the salon is clean and inviting. BUT the pedicure was by far the best I've ever had in my life. My feet weren't in the best condition (thanks to a bad pedicure from a different salon & a walking trip in NY) but my pedicurist made my feet look brand new! We went to our regular spot, and had an appointment, but not only could they not see us but it was going to be three hour wait.
