Main issues: 1. pricing lies (a bait&switch style of pricing). 2. Automatic "insurance" that covers…read morevery little. 3. Their online account access. 1. Ignore promotional pricing - once it's over they happily increase monthly rent by 70% of the normal rate. READ: PRICE WILL INCREASE ON THE 4th MONTH. This is consistent and likely an established business practice. Case 1: promo pricing was 50% off first two months. Large (intentionally nonspecific) unit- $136 "normally" with $68 as rate for promo pricing. Rented in June. Then, rate jumped by $88 to $224/month. Given notice in last week of September (25th) for November new rate start. After raising a stink they dropped it by $22. That's still $66 over what I budgeted. Case 2: Had to get a 2nd unit last day of move and didn't have time to go to a different place (believe me, I would have). A smaller unit at $42/months as "standard rate" (October '25). Promo discount of 50% for first 2 months. Notice received in December (26th) that rate will increase to $75 starting February. Again, over 70% increase in cost. And $33 above budgeted. Like clockwork. They claim: [*Warning - eye roll following reading their statement may cause pain*] "We understand that any change in pricing is significant, and we want to assure you that this decision was made after careful consideration. Our team is dedicated to providing you with the best possible storage experience, including ongoing maintenance and upgrades to our facilities." I watched this building get built. It's new. Upgrades..? No. Maintenance, okay but what kind of incompetence didn't plan for that in initial pricing? It's not incompetence. It's shady and unethical. Cowards. What does $100 get you every month? 2. They make you pay upfront for insurance at $12/mo that covers up to $2k. I suggest not storing items at $200 a month if it's all worth less than that. I gave my documents quickly. I was still charged (for first unit) and had to ask them to refund me since I was charged again. I got a second unit as noted - under the same account, passcode, email etc. They still preemptively charged that insurance despite my private policy being on file already. Needs more refunds again. Very dumb. 3. They have an online account (kinda) but it's limited in function to strictly facilitating them getting your money. You cannot see itemized statements. You cannot submit or view documents. You can update your basic info and payment info and see payment history (only total they took from your account so nothing useful). You must request actual itemized statements EVERY MONTH if you want to see what that extra fee is for. Only positives are the doors work and it's relatively clean. But it's new...we'll see how far their maintenance goes. Go elsewhere.

Absolutely wonderful. I was able to take advantage of the 3…read moremonths 1/2 price discount. The manager, Amanda, and her assistants were friendly, helpful and answered all my questions directly. I rented a 10 x 30 outside access with roll-up door. It was clean and easily accessible to moving trucks. All the paperwork was sent via text and email to me. Once I filled everything out, I sent back through their automated system. I got the unit #, the gate code and the paid invoice showing that the auto debit was in place. An excellent experience all around and recently my car battery went dead and I got stuck inside the gates. Amanda was gracious enough not to charge me for not making it out by 9pm... we were able to push car out when she opened the gate...once battery was replaced in key fob I was good to go.

My initial move in I had the pleasure of dealing with Melissa. She has excellent customer service…read moreskills and was able to quickly and easily fix an issue on my behalf dealing with move in and reservation. The rates are considerably lower than I was able to find elsewhere in the area, not to mention, access hours are longer then my previous storage unit. Recently, I dealt with some other employee, some morbidly obese gal who was far from pleasurable, who chewed me out for my 5 lb dog sniffing around the grass outside of the property. There is a fair amount of semi truck traffic next door, as well as tenants who drive wrecklessly leaving the property and the grass was a place my dog, and as well as myself, felt safe without the worry of being ran over. There was also an extremely large homeless encampment , 50+ RV's, cars and tents, all along Marx street recently that has been since Removed. However, there is still a fair amount of trash littering the street. With that said, I was also worried that my dog would find something that would harm her. As of right now, I have spotted half a dozen pieces of foil that were clearly used to smoke drugs. My dog is very small and it wouldn't take anything for her to overdose on fentynol. I don't expect trojan storage to clean up the street of needles, foils and human feces, but a little compassion for something that has absolutely no negative impact on their business would have been much appreciated. The comment about the employees weight wasn't meant to be derogatory, i just didn't know the gals name and didn't know how else to describe her

Well, the facility is clean, at least. That's one thing I can say in its favor…read more And Trojan is probably pretty good if you only plan to use the storage for 2-4 months. If you need long-term storage, though, look elsewhere. Once your initial 3 month term ends, rates will go up as much as 400%; I'm not talking about over the discount, but over the published rate on their website. For example, a 5x10 will be $60 for the first 3-4 months (plus discount), and then Trojan will raise the rate to $140 and dare you to move out, and they'll raise it by $10-$20 every year. So look at those rates on the website, and multiple them all by 250% before you commit, because that's what you'll really pay. This location also has tremendous staff turnover, and as you might expect of folks who work for a horrible company for only 6 months, most of the staff are rude, unhelpful, and often unavailable even during published office hours. Occasionally you get a nice staff member for a few months, but they leave for their own mental health (none of the nice staff mentioned in reviews are still working there). The elevators are regularly broken, as are the sliding doors, the carts are missing, and one of the drive-in gates has been chained permanently shut because they can't keep it in repair. Avoid.

The staff at this location are top notch, very helpful & generally just good people that will help in any way they can. If there was anything I had to say that wasn't good it would be that it can get very crowded sometimes with cars making it difficult to get through but it's only been that bad one time that I was there for. On a side note, some of the reviews here are either way before I had a unit here OR just ridiculous. People if your not reading what it says before you sign the agreement that's on you. They are very up front and obvious about prices/fees/late fees so you shouldn't count that against anywhere if you agreed to the terms and then forgot later or lost track of time, that's not any wrong doing on their part. Honestly this place is probably the best in Portland, I've had a few.

My access code lets me into the loading zone( where only 5 cars can fit comfortably- do watch out if your behind cars, you will GET STUCK THERE TILL OTHERS ARE DONE) The door code says the property is closed, no access. I call customer service and they said they fixed the issue but by the time I was able to get someone on the phone 45 min kater ( BECAUSE NO ONE WORKS ON SITE EXCEPT FIRST 15 min of the day) I talk to jack ir John the property manager (twice) and he doesn't give me an further or specific details about how to access space. I go next Monday to unit and my reservation says FLOOR1 but my unit has a B in front of it - so the employees expected me to know the B meant basement and they didn't know why it says floor 1 on email reservation or why my code let me on floor 1. On the last phone call John finally proceeds to tell me my unit should have had a blue zip tie with welcome information etc. and at this point Im so fed up with the stupidity I will pay more elsewhere. It took 5 phone calls to get someone to cancel my reservation. I am beyond frustrated and will put a bad review on every single platform I can. I will pay gal $45 more dollars and get someone actual customer service.
