Prompt response and attention to questions I asked versus trying to sell me on something. Refreshing...

Main issues: 1. pricing lies (a bait&switch style of pricing). 2. Automatic "insurance" that covers very little. 3. Their online account access. 1. Ignore promotional pricing - once it's over they happily increase monthly rent by 70% of the normal rate. READ: PRICE WILL INCREASE ON THE 4th MONTH. This is consistent and likely an established business practice. Case 1: promo pricing was 50% off first two months. Large (intentionally nonspecific) unit- $136 "normally" with $68 as rate for promo pricing. Rented in June. Then, rate jumped by $88 to $224/month. Given notice in last week of September (25th) for November new rate start. After raising a stink they dropped it by $22. That's still $66 over what I budgeted. Case 2: Had to get a 2nd unit last day of move and didn't have time to go to a different place (believe me, I would have). A smaller unit at $42/months as "standard rate" (October '25). Promo discount of 50% for first 2 months. Notice received in December (26th) that rate will increase to $75 starting February. Again, over 70% increase in cost. And $33 above budgeted. Like clockwork. They claim: [*Warning - eye roll following reading their statement may cause pain*] "We understand that any change in pricing is significant, and we want to assure you that this decision was made after careful consideration. Our team is dedicated to providing you with the best possible storage experience, including ongoing maintenance and upgrades to our facilities." I watched this building get built. It's new. Upgrades..? No. Maintenance, okay but what kind of incompetence didn't plan for that in initial pricing? It's not incompetence. It's shady and unethical. Cowards. What does $100 get you every month? 2. They make you pay upfront for insurance at $12/mo that covers up to $2k. I suggest not storing items at $200 a month if it's all worth less than that. I gave my documents quickly. I was still charged (for first unit) and had to ask them to refund me since I was charged again. I got a second unit as noted - under the same account, passcode, email etc. They still preemptively charged that insurance despite my private policy being on file already. Needs more refunds again. Very dumb. 3. They have an online account (kinda) but it's limited in function to strictly facilitating them getting your money. You cannot see itemized statements. You cannot submit or view documents. You can update your basic info and payment info and see payment history (only total they took from your account so nothing useful). You must request actual itemized statements EVERY MONTH if you want to see what that extra fee is for. Only positives are the doors work and it's relatively clean. But it's new...we'll see how far their maintenance goes. Go elsewhere. read more

I have had a 10x14 storage unit at this facility for just over a year and, in that time, my rental fee has been increased by more than 150%. When we started, my "introductory rate" was $103 and the following month it was $183. 3 months later, it was increased to $246 and, at the beginning of this year it was increased again to $279. There is an ongoing promotion and special introductory rate combo where the same size unit is $51 for the first 2 months (the promotion states "Half Off 2 Months") and then $102 after that. Upon seeing this, I thought I might go into the facility to try to negotiate my rental and was met with absolutely no flexibility. I was told that the current promotion and subsequent rental fee was only a promotion and did not represent the complete cost of the unit. When I asked if there was anything they would be willing to do to work with me, they simply stated that rent increases are normal for everyone and they were unable to make any adjustments. So, I will be vacating my unit before the end of this month because of these unreasonable increases. read more

Wish I could put no stars what a joke I rented back in 2022 trusted this place was still great so I rented for my daughter and son in law and guess what just found out that their storage unit was broke into this is not an outside unit they are all inside guaranteed cameras on every floor so how did they break in then bullshit and then the manager asked my son in law to take down his review bullshit what a shitty place honestly wish I could post pics of the homeless outside and seems like no one is available or has answers if I owned a business I wod make sure no one that doesn't belong isn't allowed crappy lazy untrustworthy company don't rent from them ever read more

I've been using this local for about a yr.started 78$mth now 154$ yup I was on autopay DONT DO IT.when they started charging 12$ a mth for INS unless ya had your own .well it didn't help .I sent office, corporate, office again 4 x's I've had INS always!!! So 4x12 I'm out!!! The park lot is full!! Of screws nails glass garbage.. people creep in while your entering unit!!! Homeless druggies ugh.i went today by myself and right next to my unit two had been ripped apart!! Please don't go alone. I feel so disgusted as I kept showing them I had renters insurance. Always have always. Will I pay it through my car company and still nobody could get it straight as every single month for four solid months I kept telling them and it was probably more than 4 months. That's all that I can recall unless I got my paperwork out. I think that these people need to pay me the money back that they so quickly took and added on to because of their bad office practices. I know two people by name. It was disgusting. Please find another place. They keep saying the indoor ones are better but no they're not. They never have carts. They never patrol the parking lot. I don't even think they look at the cameras. It's horrible horrible hor Thank God I'm moving my stuff out January. Please go somewhere else. I've been with them for three years plus, my unit is never in default. I'm going to be as brief as possible. This situation is more layered than what I can report here. But the gist is: My lock was cut for no reason on my fully paid for unit. I wasn't notified for 4 or 5 months according to their records and when I know I received the call. The manager assured me they corrected it and put their own lock on the unit until I could come in for a replacement. I'm only 4'11 with a sedan, and am alone here in an area where I don't know anyone. I need help to move items as I go and I do not feel safe in that area of town alone after hours. Everything was moved into the unit by a moving company when I downsized to a one bedroom apartment during college. I can't afford to hire people to move things every time I need to pull something out of the space and most things I either can't lift, or won't fit in my car. Plus, there are only three parking spaces for the entire facility, which is around the back side of the facility and they are always full of folks who live out of their vehicles, and the carts are always locked up in the office. There's more to all of that, but again, that's the gist. I was assured by the then manager that the mistake was immediately rectified and the unit was not even opened when they put their lock on it. He said they cut the lock and put theirs on, then realized the error and notified me. I've run a storage facility myself. I know how that procedure goes and they can't go into a unit until it's been abandoned for non-payment. One, or more, of their employees stole my belongings. In dealing with the violation and talking with the employees, I also discovered theft is not an uncommon occurrence with some of their employees (allegedly). Roughly $10,000 worth of my life vanished. My custom mountain bike which was an anniversary gift from my then husband, my custom wedding dress & tiara/other, tons of large Halloween animatronics and my Chrysler 200 winter tires (rims that require lock and nuts which I store in my car). I haven't even been able to take stock of anything else missing yet as the boxes in there have also been ripped into. Unless you want to pay rent/fees for them to just take your stuff... Do not trust "secure space" on Division in Gresham/Portland Oregon for your storage needs. read more

This company gets your business by offering a deal that is slightly better than other storage companies locally, but then, after three months, they raise the rent 75%. This is an abusive business practice and a breach of contract, including a breach of the implied warranty of good faith and fair dealing, and a violation of Oregon's Unlawful Trade Practices Act, ORS 646.607 et seq. The management of this company is a joke. They make it very difficult to find anyone in charge. The staff are rude and unfriendly. They lock up the carts in the office and make you give them your ID to hold if you want to use them. Very inconvenient. had several problems with this place in the year that I have been here. I have worked in customer service for years. And I have watched the decline in good customer service over the last decade. It has just gotten to be nonexistent. It's sad and it's very frustrating that when you have a problem with an employee that there is no one that you can talk to about it. I had a problem with how I was being treated, and when I voiced my opinion, I was asked to leave. They denied me access to my belongings, even though I was paid in full. I am extremely furious beyond furious, and I will be looking into my rights as a tenant Because I know it has to be illegal. I am in the process of helping my elderly mother move out of her house and I needed to unload my car. So that I could go to work. Because I was unable to unload my car I couldn't go to work so now I have lost money and the whole weekend is wasted because I couldn't move anything. And to top it all off the only thing that I can do is email customer care and wait four days for them to email me back. Who is really in charge here this makes no sense. This place is run like a circus. I have had my belongings stored in storage units all across this country and this is one of the worst. read more

Moved my stuff out after I heard they had a couple of break ins. place is dirty in the hallways, and there's always a bunch of bums hanging out after closing time. Do not put your own lock, unless it's one where someone can't cut it off. They don't tell u up front that the price of unit will change after a couple months. My price jumped from $35 to $95 in the course of 3 months. read more

Just cleaned out my unit because every time I go in there there are no carts to be used they are locked up in the office , there are only 3 spots for loading and unloading and for some reason the security guard likes to park in one of them and sit in her car she is also extremely rude and once threatened my 70 year old mother because she asked if she could move her car . this place is also no longer clean and tidy like it once was I honestly couldn't get out of there fast enough. read more

Chose this location because it was convenient. Not to much to complain about but customer service is very important to me, and there is one manager who really needs to work on his approach to help. Any other manager I have encountered on site have been very professional and helpful. Now I'm just glad not to have that bill on my shoulders anymore. read more

I got a space for my dad's goods and due to them having a security issue, they had to change the unit number when I arrived to move in. That meant that the 1/2 month off deal needed be switched as well. They knew that the switch was needed, but still charged me full price. It's now been nearly a month and after repeated requests have still not issued the refund. They also haven't been able to leave the door closest to my unit accessible, we have to go to a further away entrance, because our door apparently doesn't work. The front desk person is nice, but apparently can't get her boss to follow through on this issue. read more

Ester was incredibly helpful setting up my new account, explaining how their facility handles different things and the ins and outs of what coverage they offer. She went out of her way to find me the best current deal, gave me a tour of the facility and showed me my unit all within a timely manner so I could get to my other appointments. When their system had an issue with my second bill she was able to help correct it to make sure I wasn't being overcharged. Would definitely recommend asking specifically for Ester, she was very thorough and professional. read more

This place is horrible, I paid insurance for my unit monthly, they assured me they had cameras. My unit was broken into 3 weeks apart, before I was able to find another company. Each time my lock way cut from my unit, they did not notify me, I happened to go check on the unit both times. They stole large items such as dinner sets mini fridge she's, Etc.... They claim the cameras are only on the elevators, which would mean they would have footage of thieves removing my item from my house not since I was on the 3rd floor. Made a police report, 3 weeks later they broke in and stole the rest of my items, musical instruments, clothes, who steals a persons clothes hats and shoes. I 100% believe it was an inside job. I hope their company rots and does out of business. I filed a claim, which was denied, the third party insurance only pays if you can prove your lock has been damaged. Since my lock had been cut and removed, my claim was denied. They are absolutely thieves, any chance I have to let others know so will take it. The manager on duty at the time, who seemed to be the only employee, who was never on site, Olivia has since been fired. I'm unsure why she was fired but so sure it was related to not doing her job properly. This place has a policy that you cannot speak with anyone above the manager on duty so they can essentially get away with whatever they want. I am out thousands of dollars in household items that I thought would be safe until so move. Is there anywhere else I can leave this review to deter anyone from using this company? This was the location on devision in Portland. I have suffered a financial hardship as a result with no resolve from the company. They had me paying extra for a service they knew would not be honored based on the fine front. So hope they go out of business today, tomorrow and every other day. These people are thieves, they have supposed night security who does nothing. I showed up up one day and my lock was missing, they put their own lock on the unit and never contacted me that my unit had been compromised. The people their lie and they steal, I'm checking FB market place til this day for my items. This occurred Aug/Sep 2024, I heard this from an employee when I relinquished my unit after the second theft. I hate I forgot the gentleman's name. For over three years we used the Public Storage on Burnside and Birdsdale. Earlier this year they notified us that it appeared that our outside access unit was broken into. Zero help from them to try to find out who did it, so we unloaded it and found a cheaper unit with more square feet, with inside storage and "more secure", Secure Space self storage, on 161st and Division. None of us had been there for a couple of weeks, but we had it double locked. Today we went to put some stuff into it, and found out IT had been broken into also! The thieves drilled out both locks. A TV, some luggage, and electronics were stolen. An attendant had noticed the unit was not secured, so he/she just threw one of their locks on it and let it go. No notification to us of any kind. Needless to say, with crime being what it is in and around Portland right now, we're no longer going to be using any storage facilities. read more

Very easy process to rent a unit. Perfect size available for what I need, at an amazing rate.

If you're thinking about getting a storage unit here think again. This place is deceiving, I was on the look for a storage unit for a fair price and this location on their website offered 2 months for half the price and everything was going well then I started paying the regular price, within 4 months of paying the regular price they increased my bill dramatically by nearly 50% with no notice or email being sent to me to let me know that my bill would be increased. Since I had autopay it took me 2 months to notice this, I then went to the main office myself to ask why I didn't receive a notice and one of the employees told me I should've received some type of notice which I hadn't, She even checked to see if I had gotten and email and she even said It herself that I in fact didn't. She said she would get in contact with the manager and see what they could do about it I never heard back from the manager or anyone. 2 weeks had passed so I went in person again funny how someone else was there complaining how outrageous the price increase was without notice as well without even her being there for a year!! The employee who I talked to said the manager was tired of hearing people complaining and that he didn't want to hear about it anymore so there was nothing that could be done by them in their part. I'm upset that I'm not the only one going through this it sounds like this is happening to lots of other customers here at this location as well. This place deceives you into purchasing a unit here with their special offer of 2 months half off then increase your bill without you noticing then tell you there's nothing that can be done after you find out! read more

Very simple, easy process to reserve and rent a storage space.

Kristy was a delight - even though she had a super hard day. And the facility was impressive.

First I want to start off by saying this place is new thus it's "nice" but do t be fooled. Since it opened the entire staff that was here when I signed my lease has been refreshed with new folks. I have no idea why but I suspect it's because this place is a mess. First the biggest issue is parking. They only have 3 official parking spots in front of the doors where you load and unload. Then they have 4 more spots up by the front door. One is handicap parking. I used this location as a warehouse for my small business and would come here at least once a week if not more. Nearly every time I would arrive all the parking was taken up and usually people were parking in the fire lane. It's a huge problem. The second issue is the trash and mess left behind by people some of whom I doubt have a storage unit here. They don't have a good Handle on the property. At one point the code system used to unlock the doors was broken for at least a week and after 6pm you just could not access your unit because they left and locked the door. The last thing I'll say is if you use the stairs to walk down from the 3rd floor to the main floor you get stuck with a choice to be other wait for someone to come let you out or using the emergency door that sets off the alarm and puts you outside the building and on the other side of the security fence into a neighborhood leaving you to jump the fence to walk all the way around to get to your car. What business locks the 1st floor door to the stairs it's just crazy. read more
