We have done a takeout from the Mississauga location and were not overly pleased. Decided to try this location as dine in. The interior is clean and service fantastic. The servers are helpful and did tell us we were ordering too much food for the table. They also provided 2 complimentary spring rolls. The Vegan Hot and Sour soup was fantastic. Good flavour, spicing, fantastic veggies and tofu and seasoned to perfection The Vegan Tofu Manchurian was very good as well. The same well seasoned dish, with good spices and tofu. The gravy was amazing. The Thai style Vegan Fried Rice was good. The only difference I thing with the regular fried rice was there was some pineapple tidbits. Regardless the Fried Rice was good. Well balanced rice dish. The Vegan Momos - were good. The outlet layer a bit thicker than we would have liked. The filling good. The hot sauce dip provided was underwhelming. very bad experience!! i ordered chowmien and manchurian in person at the counter and specifically asked do make chowmien medium spicy, took order home and had my first bite, it was very very spicy. went back to restaurant and lady told me, by mistake we made it extra spicy(more than spicy) and i asked for the refund, and she started saying i can not refund for manchurian, since that is okay, despite of mentioning to her, that i wanted to eat it with chowmien and if this is not good, how can you expect me to eat it alone, also it was late night, it ruined my dinner too. i was expecting a better customer experience and they have opened it recently at this location. but was very disappointed with the experience. please avoid going there if you can, being a new place if they can not treat customers well, seems like they do not care about people. please keep your profits aside and make customer experience more better. read more

So we decided to try a new hakka joint, and we found this place. Experience: Nice little hole in the wall feel to the restaurant. The staff seems a little too laid back, a little sense of urgency would be nice. Might be better to order take out then to sit in, but we were okay with it. The Food: We had the Manchurian House Mixed Fried Rice, Manchurian Chicken, CHicken Lolipops and the Spicy Deep Fried Tiger Prawn. We loved everything, except the prawns were definitely not spicy - still good though. Conclusion: Nice place to go to, specially since I did not have a bad experience as some of the past reviews. Really good food and lots of it! I had the Machurian rice and it was amazing and I asked to get it more spicy and it was perfect. Also the tofu Singapore noodles, tasted great. And one of the best things as an appetizer was the veggie hot and sour soup. It tasted a lot better then most Chinese restaurant and didn't have the green stuff that's in most of the soups. Excellent lunch here. I'll admit I was hesitant given the 2.5 stars avg rating, but we both wanted Hakka and this was right here. My wife had the chilli chicken and I had the spicy garlic. Both were the lunch specials. It was evident that they made everything fresh. Each grain of rice was cooked well and it was separate (not lumped together). Probably the freshest rice I've had in a Chinese/Hakka restaurant ever. Both mains were good. Nothing to inspire, but it was flavourful, not overly spicy and again fresh. Served with 2 spring rolls (crunchy) and egg hot and sour soup. And the soup was also yummy. Went there for dinner the other night and ever since we moved to Milton, couldn't find a place where we could eat Hakka food. There were many choices in Mississauga and we used to go back there but not since we discovered Royal garden. The place is nice and food is cheap but cheap doesn't necessarily mean it's not good, for the price the food is remarkable. We ordered chicken teriyaki, chili chicken and tandoori chicken fried rice and were not disappointed by either of the dishes. They were all flavourful and tasty. The chicken teriyaki has an enormous amount of veggies that you get with it which was a good surprise and tandoori chicken fried rice had loads of chicken in there and was amazing. The chilli chicken seemed a little bland and could use a bit more flavour but it was good. The service was fast and the lady serving us was very friendly and nice. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in a mood for some Hakka in Milton! read more

With 2.5 overall rating I think a review is due! I don't know if this place was taken over by new management but in past year since we started visiting this place, quality of food has been consistently good. Nothing extraordinary but this is value for money Hakka Chinese food made to satisfy this Indian's spice ravaged taste buds. Service is courteous and there seems to be a high volume of take outs vs dine ins. Food quantities are large too. Between the two of us, we always end up taking noodles, fried rice and any other entrées home (which usually run for two meals!). read more

It's a very cozy and comfortable place to dine with friends and family. They serve delish Chinese dishes mixed with Indian spices (ie, basically Hakka). We love Royal Garden. It's the best Chinese style food in Milton without a doubt. I just wish their prices had remained as low as they were when they opened a few years ago! The combo dinners for one are a great carryout value. We've also been there to eat on as a group of eight on several occasions. The portions were generous and the food tasty. Ordered won-tons as an appy, in my experience these appetizers were a deep fried meat filled item, unfortunately this place forgot the meat and served deep fried wonton wrappers. I then had wor wonton soup, flavourless and very subpar. I sent back after two bites, thoroughly disappointed with both items i had ordered. The worst Thai food I've ever had. I'm no expert but I've had some rally good authentic Thai food from multiple places in Tri state area. I'm new to the GTA area, I was craving Thai food and this place popped up in my search. This place has a few Thai dishes listed on their menu. To all the Thai food lovers, please stay away!! I ordered green curry. The curry has so much corn starch that it was like a giant green blob of chicken. It was more like a paste than a curry. Very unappetizing.They use food colours to the max... Been a few times now and I've only had the dry chilli chicken and Manchurian chicken noodles, both times I was very satisfied with my orders. The chilli chicken taste fresh and has some nice flavour under the spice. The Manchurian noodles are why I come here, the red spicy noodles are my favorite and hard to find in a lot of hakka restaurants. I will keep coming back here for those 2 dishes as long as they keep making them so delicious. read more

Good location and they cash out and make this place a lot more profitable only if they fix few things. Have been dining here for the past 3 years. Their serving sizes are large in comparison to the competitors which is a good thing since you get more for the same amount of money. They need to differentiate their gravies as well because the only difference is the colour mixed in corn starch. Few concerns that needs to be handled are: 1) there were many instances where the food served to us was not hot rather it was luke warm. When we told them about it they simply said that's what we have in a rude tone. Another time, the food was microwaved which is a big NO. 2) They also need to teach their servers some manners as often times I have seen that they are rude especially the male staff. 3) Additionally, it would be good if tables are properly set. Spoons and fork should be provided instead of customers asking for spoons everyone time they dine. In fact tables should be pre prepared before customers are seated. Plates, spoons, glasses, and forks should be properly laid on the table instead tossing them on the table like a deck of cards. If they improve their serving style then I think this place will be 5 stars. Hopefully after renovations are done they will improve. read more

Each year on New Year's eve, my hubby and I select a restaurant and order in. This year, we really wanted Hakka Chinese but the place close to us was closed on Monday. We searched the web for something close to Oakville and came across Royal Garden...about 15 minutes north on Highway 25. Neither of us had heard of this place and there was no website to be found. The menu I located seemed ok, but no pics and I was a little hesitant. We decided to try it anyways. We placed our order for a 5:30 pickup. It was right on time and the car ride home was unbearable...I was starving and the food smelled incredible! It was all I could do to rip open the containers and go to town right then and there. We ordered a lot of food...knowing we'd have leftovers. This is what we got for $71- - 1 small chicken hot and sour soup - 1 deep fried spicy cauliflower (app but full container) - 1 chicken manchurian fried rice - 1 chili chicken (my personal fav) - 1 thai chili chicken - 1 shrimp hakka chowmein - 1 sweet/sour manchurian beef - 1 house singapore noodle (chicken & shrimp) - 1 steamed plain rice (included free with order) Let me say this: it was all DELICIOUS!!! The menu online differs from the menu that we picked up when we were there...there is a Vegetarian section not included online and also some 'family deals' (like $39.99 for 1 medium soup, 8 pcs chicken wings or 8 pcs veg spring rolls + any 4 main dishes, or upsize for 6 people for $55.99), which we'll probably go with next time. One thing to keep in mind though is that the food is PACKED into these containers...not sure how the lids went on...after 4 portions have been taken, there still doesn't even seem to be a dent in some of these dishes so we may have ordered too much, but I'm not complaining. The food is flavourful and cooked to perfection. I've always been a Faley's girl (Islington Ave) but Royal Garden really exceeded my expectations! I am always a little worried about eating out since I have IBS, and I was surprised to see how not greasy it was! I had no issues at all and have just polished off a second plate full for lunch today. Now just can't wait for dinnertime to come so I can have some more. We will be repeat customers of Royal Garden and I would happily recommend this fine restaurant to anyone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The waitress stole money from my moms purse. When they told the owner he asked how much she stole and he said "thats not a big amount". EXCUSE ME????!?Terrible terrible service. The waitress also asked them to give the tip directly to her and not to put in on the table with the bill. These people are scam artists, if you go here you better hide your purse. We also asked the manager to check the security footage, he never called us back. I called him to get an update and he said the cameras didn't show anything except that the waitress had moved my moms purse to clean the table. Why would she touch anyones purse, TO STEAL MONEY.
