This place is pretty cheap. They get 3.5 stars…read more Chicken chop suey had bean sprouts with some smoky wok flavour that were still crunchy. The chicken was very tender. Pepper pot steak was decent. It was actually black bean beef, though the black bean flavour was quite weak. The green pepper was a little bitter.

This food was the only thing that the both of us ate the same all day today. Location: Main Street Newmarket at the top of the hill. Parking: There's a couple of on-street spots in front of it. There's a laneway but I don't think you're allowed to park there but people do Store: You walk in there are six chairs for people to sit and wait and a counter you order at and pick up your food. You can look into the kitchen. There's a lot of people working in there it looks like it's never been updated since it was first built Food: It's take out only or delivery. A couple of times at work we have ordered takeout from here. But that was a while ago. And everyone always liked it. Wow things change We ordered the dinner for two. 2 Egg Rolls Chicken Chow Mein Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs Barbecue Pork Fried Rice I'll start off by saying the egg rolls and the chicken chow mein were tasted but not eaten. The egg rolls were overcooked but that's fine it just meant the outside is extra crispy but the inside tasted funny. I can't even explain it it was like beige chopped up things. One bite was all we could manage. The chicken chow mein was actually really gross. When we opened the container it smelled like cheap canned chicken soup, Itwas very liquidy and actually tasted like cheap chicken soup. One bite was all we had. The fried rice was okay. We ate it but it wasn't great like it used to be. And the sweet and sour spare ribs was good but I suspect it's a Jarred sauce that most Canadian style Chinese places used. You can't really mess up deep fried meat. Or I guess maybe they can. I will actually never go here again. The food wasn't I really have no idea how it's getting all these five stars. Even with nostalgia that food was not good

I don't usually trust places with chicken balls on the menu but I'm so glad we gave this place a chance. As a party of 6 on a Saturday at 8pm, they were able to easily accommodate us. Parking is also very easy to find. The menu is very extensive and can easily be overwhelming, with over 100 items. However the staff are very helpful in describing what each item is, recommending what's most popular and what they personally like. We never had Cambodian cuisine before, so we took their recommendations and they were bang-on! It was my first time having Cambodian-style pho - the soup base is garlic based rather than bone broth based, which honestly I think I prefer more! The wings were also crispy (not much special flavour) and beef skewers were very lemongrass-tasting, which was refreshing. Their prices are also not bad at all. If I was in the area, I would definitely come back.

It has a nice flavour profile and I really enjoy the amount of veggies and meat they put in making each mouthful a treat. During my last visit I got their Cantonese Chow Mein with beef and found myself regretting that I didn't get the noodle soup again. The Cantonese Chow Mein was decent.. good enough to finish but needs the rooster sriracha hot sauce for a nice kick. Their chicken wing appetizer is good and I enjoyed the pickled carrots and pickles with it. Staff is always warm and friendly. Would go back and would recommend.

First the egg roll had no meat only cabbage, I don't like cabbage ,strike 1. Second was the beef chop suey it was tasteless probably the worst I've ever had, strike 2. The sweet and sour ribs were inedible as I couldn't even bite into them but the sauce was OK, strike 3. The chicken fried rice was lacking any flavour as I was hard pressed to find any chicken, they are out. The only reason I gave them 1 star was because the complimentary fortune cookie was tasty. I threw out 90% of the meal and will not be returning ever.

I got everything I wanted with Yang Chow, and I'll gladly keep coming back here again and again. This time, both my girlfriend and I got lunch combos (she, chicken cashew nut, and me shrimp cashew nut). They were both great, and neither of us left hungry. And I was pretty impressed by the amount of chicken and shrimp they included. And all for under $15, including drinks! The owners were very friendly, and seemed to sincerely appreciate our business. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I missed having items like broccoli and cauliflower in the veggie mix. It wasn't bad or anything of the sort - but a simple mix mostly of carrot, celery, onion, green pepper, and baby corn. If you like your Chinese food simple, quick, well prepared, and inexpensive, I highly recommend this place!
