The food is succulent, and the prices are great!!!!!! Order their spring rolls. They are the best in town.

Hands down the best Gongbao/ Kungpao chicken the York region!…read more I ordered twice with uber eats and couldn't resist visiting the third time in person. Upon visiting I was a bit disappointed that they don't have dine-in service. Only take-out. But nevertheless, the people at the counter are kind and quick. My order arrived within minutes! Just to keep in mind, visiting the store is a bit cheaper (20%) than Uber eats. So if you're close by, don't forget to get their Gongbao chicken! I'm yet to try other delicacies from this store. Don't mind the store for its looks, it has no dine-in facility, just a few chairs and two tables but the food is yum!

Small town Chinese restaurants aren't the most promising food places, but this place was…read moresurprisingly good. Got "A little bit of everything". It was fantastic value especially for those who like variety, it came with an egg roll, teriyaki beef, wontons, breaded shrimp, chicken chop suey, sweet & sour chicken balls, spare ribs & chicken fried rice. Also added a spring roll. "A little bit of everything" was a lot of food. The rice had a good wok flavour & the chop suey was pretty tasty too. There was quite a bit of chicken in both. The teriyaki beef was so-so. The rest of the items were battered & deep fried (even the spare ribs) & were ok; the sweet & sour sauce was the usual sweet goo. The outside of the egg roll broke & the inside was so-so. For the spring roll I chose pork (there's vegetable too). It was stuffed with 99% minced pork & had a simple soy sauce based flavour. It was pretty good.

Pepper pot steak was decent. It was actually black bean beef, though the black bean flavour was quite weak. The green pepper was a little bitter.

Originally I gave it 2 Stars but bumped it down to one after we had to fight over the bathroom. You…read moreknow what I mean. This food was the only thing that the both of us ate the same all day today. Location: Main Street Newmarket at the top of the hill. Parking: There's a couple of on-street spots in front of it. There's a laneway but I don't think you're allowed to park there but people do Store: You walk in there are six chairs for people to sit and wait and a counter you order at and pick up your food. You can look into the kitchen. There's a lot of people working in there it looks like it's never been updated since it was first built Food: It's take out only or delivery. A couple of times at work we have ordered takeout from here. But that was a while ago. And everyone always liked it. Wow things change We ordered the dinner for two. 2 Egg Rolls Chicken Chow Mein Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs Barbecue Pork Fried Rice I'll start off by saying the egg rolls and the chicken chow mein were tasted but not eaten. The egg rolls were overcooked but that's fine it just meant the outside is extra crispy but the inside tasted funny. I can't even explain it it was like beige chopped up things. One bite was all we could manage. The chicken chow mein was actually really gross. When we opened the container it smelled like cheap canned chicken soup, Itwas very liquidy and actually tasted like cheap chicken soup. One bite was all we had. The fried rice was okay. We ate it but it wasn't great like it used to be. And the sweet and sour spare ribs was good but I suspect it's a Jarred sauce that most Canadian style Chinese places used. You can't really mess up deep fried meat. Or I guess maybe they can. I will actually never go here again. The food wasn't I really have no idea how it's getting all these five stars. Even with nostalgia that food was not good

Cynthia's Chinese Restaurant in the Newmarket location is made up of 2 different restaurants: the…read morefine dining restaurant, and the buffet / all-you-can-eat restaurant. They're located in the same plaza, but in separate units. We went to the fine dining portion of the restaurant. The ambiance and interior décor were really nice, the inside was very clean, and the customer service was really good (a lot better than what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant). There was live music (an actual singer) performing when we were there for a weekend dinner. It had a fine dining feel. I liked all the little details and ornament-like items that they used for the eating utensils (e.g. golden-plated chopstick rest, fancy soup bowl akin to the bowls used by Chinese emperors, etc.). They had both English and Chinese menus for you to choose. Although the service and overall experience were above average, the food was just average. The stand-outs for me were the Crab Meat & Corn Soup and Seafood Garlic Fried Rice. The soup had actual chunks of crab and a lot of corn, which I liked. The Seafood Garlic Fried Rice was moist and contained a good amount of seafood (small scallops, pieces of shrimps, shredded imitation crab). It was delicious and flavourful. The Scallops with Ginger and Onion was also good, with large scallops, sliced white onion, and I could really taste the ginger (with actual ginger pieces in the dish). Buddha's Delight Vegetables was a disappointment because it was too saucy and salty. It didn't contain bamboo shoots like the Buddha's Delight in some other Chinese places, but they had wood ear mushrooms which I liked.

First class service. I recommend you phone first and reserve a table. Very tasty and high class.read more
