The lunch specials here are cheap & they seem to be offered on weekends too. No wonder this place is so crowded! The staff proactively asked if sugar in the tea was desired which was a nice touch. Pork neck with rice & egg was pretty good. There wasn't a lot of pork but neck is a pricey cut so for the price it was still good. The pork was cooked in a sweet sauce. The egg was surprisingly crispy given it was for takeout. The daily Chinese soup was good with pear, white fungus & some dark coloured meat. Fried rice noodles with beef & tomato soup (ie borscht) were good as per 2 years ago.

We were in the area on a Sunday around 1pm, so came here because there was a long line up at O Street lol We waited couple minutes because it was pretty packed as well. Service was great, lots of waitresses and they were attentive. Food was a bit slow though. We waited about 15 minutes for the baked dish (I guess because it was baked). The tomato/pasta sauce was quite sweet and the hor fun wasn't bad. Definitely a decent choice if you're in the area.

The lunch menu options are great, served with soup and a drink. I tried the Hainanese chicken rice and it was flavourful. Great spot to go for HK cafe style food. They get quite busy on the weekends, our group of 5 waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. Also wanted to note that they charge for takeout containers.

Haven't dined in in a while. Came here on a Thursday night and it was around 7pm, not too busy got seated right away. Noticed their menu has updated (but they didn't/haven't printed new takeout menu). Some items are the same, and some are new such as the stone pot rice and chicken hotpot. Also it looks like they got rid of the afternoon tea(?) We got a 12 pcs chicken wings basket for $19.99 and a ginger scallion chicken rice noodle for $11.99. No drinks with these items unlike some other meals on the menu. We first got the ginger scallion chicken noodles and there's a generous portion of the chicken thigh and ginger scallion. But could use more noodles. I appreciate that the soup isn't tasteless but it's a bit too oily. Chicken wings took a while longer to make but it came out piping hot. It's juicy and not overcooked. It's well marinated, tastes like those salt bake chicken powder. Surprised it comes with fries, similar to Costco ones. Overall, always enjoy eating here.

This is a go to spot for Asian food in Aurora. Located on the strip, I'd recommend getting the hainanese chicken rice and the tomato porkchop rice. They have lunch specials that include a free drink. Good amount of free parking in the plaza. It gets busy here, so come early. Definitely give them a try!

Not many cha chan tang in Newmarket so I'm surprised it took me so long to come to this spot! It definitely surpassed my expectations and now I know I do not need to go to Markham just for a quick HK cafe meal! I found the service to be above and beyond, especially for a Chinese resto! I don't need all the extra check ins and other shenanigans. As long as you're relatively civil and bring me the right food, I'm good with it. I found them to be very kind and even moved us to a table away from the door in case we got cold once they cleaned up one of their tables near the inside. The meals were very reasonably priced and the portions were huge! I got the curry chicken rice and it served as two meals for me. The flavours were sooo good and I got a delicious soup and a lemon tea to go with it - all for 12.99 lunch special. They have all the regular HK cafe meals so there's something for everyone. Left with a full stomach and I am definitely coming back!

It's great to see more Asian restaurants opening on Newmarket. Pine House is a must visit if you're ever craving for some classic HK food, or even Asian food in general! It was very spacious inside with ample seats, however on the weekends, you may find that you'd have to wait a bit for a table (usually not too long). The servers are surprisingly pleasant overall, and were polite with their service. We got their lunch special combos which came with a drink (available before 3pm). The dishes taste fantastic, I loved the ginger scallion oil chicken with rice and would recommend anyone to get this! Only complaint I had was really the drinks, they were just average (we both ordered Coffee with Tea). Usually I don't have much expections for these, but they tasted pretty flavorless which was a little disappointing. IG: Ayenomz

Their all day specials are my favourite! I got the egg sandwich with satay beef vermicelli $8.99 They also come with a drink. Cold drinks are $1 extra. They have lunch specials. I got the beef ho fun and yeung chow fried rice. $12.99 each includes a drink and daily soup. If you pay cash it's 10% off :) best HK cafe in the area.

After many take out orders we wanted to do a sit down lunch. They separated the guests with a reserved sign between tables which made eating inside the restaurant less stressful. The food and service was quite good as usual...even in these tough times.

    The Egg ball sandwich! :)

Count on Mom's for affordable Chinese food…read more Mom's Pan-Fried Bun in Newmarket offers great value, and is often packed during mealtime with families. This is one of 7 locations now across the GTA. While pan-fried buns & soup dumplings are on the menu, noodles are our go-to here. Their menu also features burgers, fried chicken wings and apps such as scallion pancakes and desserts including pumpkin pie with red bean filling. The soy milk is light and refreshing. The tomato-based noodle soup is rich and slightly tangy. We like that it's always served piping hot and comes with a crispy pork cutlet. The cutlet does soften quick while soaking up the soup. You can also pick between their braised beef noodle soup or their house beef noodle soup with tripe, beef rolls & a smaller pork cutlet for $10.99. It's light but you can jazz it up with their aromatic hot sauce that isn't very spicy. Hand-pulled noodles are thick & bouncy while the bowl portions are a fair size. Their burgers are surprisingly tasty with Asian seasoned beef patty, onion crisp and a slab of processed cheese. The restaurant interior is brightly lit with many promo signages and fits a decent number of tables to accommodate close to 40 guests. Just like their busy downtown location, you can see the action in the back kitchen where the noodles and buns are being steamed and fried. This place accepts credit card and there is no cash discount. Service is quick and friendly for casual dining, promptly serving and clearing your dishes. Skip it or hit it? It's a good meal spot to hit up if you're looking for affordable noodles & bites.

Honey black pepper wings were pretty good: crispy, fresh & juicy. The sauce was sparse & not evenly applied, though. Honey cheese wings were pretty good. The taste was less cloying than Korean cheese powder. There seemed to be no honey though. Scallion pancake was pretty good: slightly dry but flavourful. Fresh pork pan fried buns were good: fluffy yet crispy. Mom's beef burger was not big. The patty was a bit dry. The bun was tasty & fluffy. The honey mustard was pretty nice & there were crispy strips. It was decent & cheap. Tomato noodle with pork chop was decent. The other dishes are better. Red bean pumpkin pie was decent: quite crispy. Rice cake with brown sugar was decent. Sweet soy milk was pretty good but quite sweet.

My visit to Noodle Max would be one of these unexplained phenomenon. I was really hoping to try this hyped up beef noodle place in Richmond Hill, only to have my hope squashed by a long line up at 4:20pm in the afternoon. 4:20!!! WTH!!! On a snowy, slushy late afternoon, I blindly (and slowly) drove my way aimlessly to Aurora. I remember some Asian restaurant getting rave reviews up in Aurora and that being Noodle Max (maybe it wasn't so aimless). If you are someone who believes in destiny, I can tell you destiny will occasionally give you sxxxxy things. Noodle Max would be one of them. Noodle Max's main offerings are Lan Zhou style noodles and was it ever an unauthentic and underwhelming experience. I wouldn't go as far to say the soup was tasteless like water, but it's pretty bland. While the soup for Lan Zhou noodles are not generally crazy strong in flavour, it should still have the taste of spices. The beef slices were also pretty tame in flavour. They were ok. The main plus about their noodle was the portion; quite big. The noodle had better texture than most store bought noodles, but it did not have the proper floury taste and the limited flavours from the soup was not able to hang onto the noodles. Aurora used to be a black hole in terms of dining options, but not anymore. How Noodle Max continued to garner such a high Yelp and Google rating befuddles me.

Amazing comfort food!…read more Came here and have also gotten takeout and both times have been great! Dine in was nice, the restaurant is pretty big, and was clean. We were a large group and everyone enjoyed their food. Service was quick and efficient but I wouldn't say it was overly friendly but I have no complaints. You order through a QR code on your phone so there's really not a lot of server interaction. The noodles are the highlight, thick, chewy and fun to eat; I love that they're freshly made. I really enjoyed the broths also, they were light but very flavourful, some are just a tad on the salty side. Prices are really good for most items, some bowls of noodles are like $10 which is amazing value considering you can get noodle refills! Hard to get full for $10 so this is great value! Other highlights have been the sweet and sour meatballs, they were SO tasty and in a sticky sweet sauce that would have been amazing over rice, however they were a tiny bit pricey at $15. We also ordered a veggie appetizer that was surprisingly delicious and piled high on the plate, it's a great little sharing plate that came with a variety of their different cold appetizer veggies. Overall if I'm feeling like noodle soup, this place will be at the top of the list, value for quality of food is unmatched. Takeout was also great, my soup was still piping hot and the noodles/meat came on the side which helped everything stay fresh and not get soggy. Looking forward to trying other items!
