Absolutely not authentic. Spent $60 on 3 dishes all were horrible. The soup tasted like sugary coconut milk not a ginger lemongrass base. Nothing refreshing about it Which was disappointing because I wanted something to help my cold. Also had "spicy" noodle which tasted equivalent to ones you can buy in the freezer at a grocery store. Had supper with the family here today to mark a birthday. We ordered the spring rolls (there were 4), a bowl of chicken tom yum soup (it was good and came with some veggies and chicken), and the plate of shrimp chips with peanut sauce. The spring rolls were good though it came with a honey like sauce. The shrimp chips were crispy but the peanut dipping wasn't so good. For main dishes, there Pad Ka Naa with jasmine rice which was a good size plate of food and generous bowl of rice, curry chicken pad thai on a dish, regular pad thai also with chicken. All 3 of these were good. There was also an order for Pad Woon Seen but it was a little disappointing. It did not have the egg in it and was not made with glass noodles as mentioned in the description. We also asked if they could make this dish a medium spicy level but when it came to the table it didn't have any spice level at all. We wanted to order a mango juice but declined as it was not home made. They also did not make any fruit milkshakes or mocktails. So we ended having Coke Zero because they didn't have Pepsi products. There was not much of a wait time for the meals to be served which was awesome. However, the server did not seem to be very observant and so we couldn't tell them what our concerns were. Might come back for another meal another time but am unsure at this point. Everyone who considers themselves a "foodie" in Burlington knows of Thai Coconut, and for good reason. Their Thai food is up there with the best in Toronto. While they don't have some of the more trendy Thai dishes and stick to the classics, they do the classics well, and the lunch combos are always great value. You get a soup, spring roll, and an entree for a very reasonable price. I used to love coming to Thai Coconut for their lunch time menu when I worked in the area. You got a vegetable spring roll and a soup to come along with your meal. I came back with my boyfriend recently for their dinner menu on a Friday night as we were both craving Thai food. The restaurant was a little over half-packed which was a good sign. I was a little taken aback by the pricing on their menu. They were more expensive than Pai (a VERY popular restaurant in Toronto)! HOWEVER, they do have a solid monopoly on Thai food in the Burlington area which is reflected in the pricing. We ordered: 1. Green Curry with Beef & Rice: I didn't like how rice had to be ordered separately. This made a meal for myself more than $20. The curry had a nice kick to it and there was lots of beef (quality uncertain as it was quite chewy). This filled me up but wasn't worth the $20. 2. Chicken Pad Thai: My boyfriend said this was okay. It was really saucy which we aren't used to. Overall, their food is okay but I don't think I'll be back just because it's so damn pricey for a dinner for 2. Burlington surprising me with it's Thai Food scene ngl. This one is a pretty decent joint. I have had their Pad thai and Masaman curry, both were very flavourful. On pad thai, spice level is on the milder side so anything less than "extra spicy" would be very mild imo, specially if you're accustomed to "Thai Spicy" level of spiciness. Masaman curry was very flavourful and almost as good as it gets. I'd definitely recommend trying this place out. read more

A good friend of mine was visiting from the states and we were both looking for a good Thai place for lunch. Driving by, we saw Thai Coconut, give it a bit hidden in the little shopping center, but it caught our eye. It's a nice cozy and small location, but the staff was very nice and the place was pretty clean. I ordered the PadSeeEw and my buddy had the Pad Thai. Lunch portions. But let me tell you, these were definitely beyond lunch portions, great take home leftovers. Overall, it was a great find. The noodles were done right. And I love Pad See Ew, my usual test choice for Thai food. And they have a great seasoning on it. I'll look forward to my next visit to try the other dishes. read more

My rating only applies to their Monday-Saturday lunch menu, which is very affordable and tasty. The curries are $11-15 pre-tax, and come with a spring roll, tom yum soup, and rice. I've been a few times, and the green curry is my favorite. Dinner here is pretty lackluster, since the prices are higher and rice is extra. Service is not bad. They seem more busy during dinner than lunch. read more

I decided to order takeout today since the raptors game was on. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp as well as red curry beef with a side order of rice. They closed at 9pm and I got there right on time to pick up my order. The red beef curry was quite tasty however there was cauliflower in my curry. A bit odd but not bad tasting. The pad Thai was tasty but there was too much oil. The shrimps were good in size but the chicken and tofu were a bit dry. The bottom of the take out container had so much oil I had to drain it out. The noodles were also mushy and broken up. All in all ok food but it's a bit oily. Also very pricey. $20 for pad Thai and $20 for the curry and rice. But I guess in Burlington there's not a lot of asian restaurants so they can pretty much charge whatever they want. Not sure if I would come back for dinner due to the price. It's was ok not amazing and definitely not worth $20 a dish. I took out 2 stars for the price and the pad Thai being oily and the dry chicken and tofu/ mushy noodles. I read comments that their lunch specials are more affordable. I might try that next time and a write a review on it. read more

Packed on a Friday night, I knew I couldn't go wrong with this restaurant! I stuck with a popular favourite, shrimp pad Thai, and it satisfied my craving quite well. However I would ask for less peanuts, it's loaded in every bite and takes away from the soft texture of the noodles. My friend had the lychee curry, and although it was expensive (over $20), she was happy she ordered it. Overall, Thai Coconut is a safe spot to go to for Thai cuisine and I'm happy they serve Burlington. They won't be taking top spot on my list though, as several spots in Toronto win on flavour and sauciness. read more

My daughter and I decided to visit the restaurant for dinner this evening and had another great experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quiet and comforting. The menu offers many good options for each taste. We settled on a chciken Tom Yum and Chicken Coconut Soup as a starter and a few Thai Spring rolls as appetizer. My daughter decided on the Pad Thai Woon Sen, which was absolutly great. I picked the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with BBQ-d Chicken. The rice was tasty and just spicy enough. I was a bit disappointed in the BBQ-d Chicken, which was less flavorful I wasnhoping for. It as fresh and well prepared but it lacked some punch. They were just a teeny bit away from crossing the line from "don't care" side to the "rude" side. There were no greetings such as welcome to our place or a "you are welcome" to my "thank you" for serving the water. There were no smiles but raised eye brows. I don't know if it was because the owner is not paying them well or they don't like their job or they don't like the customers. When I asked for an extra spoon, the server raised her eyebrows and looked at me like I asked her to take off her top (JK). Anyway, the food was really good. Outstanding Thai food! As a vegan, I especially enjoy their Spicy Tofu with Coconut Milk and Pad Thai! Their food tastes like home-made! It's a family-run business, and I can tell the chefs are native Thai. Staff are friendly and helpful just like all my Thai friends :) I'd try to use debit card more often at this location as credit card companies charge a ton on them, it's quite a burden for independent business like this. read more

Had a serious craving for Thai food and we wanted to go bowling. Burlington bowl is awesomely cheap and this restaurant is located very close to it. I made a reservation and it is a good thing I did because it was packed! I couldn't believe how busy it was considering there is not an abundance of reviews. Loved the decor and the menus (see photos). The staff was friendly and attentive. There is a great selection of vegetarian options, including soups. We got the shrimp chips and peanut sauce (boyfriend always gets these at Thai restaurants), peanut curry and pad siew - both veggie version. Both dishes were good, the curry better then the noodles. It just seemed like something was kind of missing, they were a tad on the bland side but still enjoyable. They came with lots of vegetables and tofu. Word of warning the curry doesn't come with rice, they say "rice on the side" when you order and then you get charged 2.00 for it. I've never just eaten curry like a soup, rice should really be included. They are a bit on the pricier side considering the location. But I guess they can charge more since they have less competition then they would in Toronto. I am still interested in trying other dishes here because maybe there is a gem. read more

Excellent Thai food. We were trying to decide between Thai Coconut and Pomelo. The review tipped in favor of Thai Coconut. Our order consisted of chicken fried rice, Pad Se Ew, Tom Yum soup and calamari. The chicken fried rice was the best we have had in a long time. The flavor was authentic and the fried onion garnish was a nice touch. What we appreciated most is that they don't skimp on dishes by stretching them out using cheap filler items. Could I suggest that the format $xx.99 on all menu prices be changed to rounded dollars or to the nearest 50 cents. For examples, $8.99 becomes $9, or simply 9; $12.99 becomes $13, or simply 13. It would add CLASS to the image of the restaurant, as it happens in some other restaurants. Once menus are reprinted accordingly, they could temporarily announce: "PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WE HAVE RAISED OUR PRICES BY ONE CENT!" Diners might appreciate the humour. read more

The best thai food in Burlington. I usually order the golden chicken curry and fried rice and quality of the food is consistently excellent. Eating in is an option but it is a small place so book reservations for dinner. I have been there a few times now to dine in and the servers are polite, attentive and well mannered. In a word. Excellent. The resturant is very clean and warmly decorated. The staff was extremely friendly. I got an order to go that included spring rolls, basil fried rice, spicy Hunan chicken with peppers (came with extra rice), and of course pad Thai. The cost for the large amount of food was very reasonable (under $45). It took about 20 minutes but that is because everything was cooked fresh. Every dish was excellent, my favorite being the basil fried rice. Finally a very good Asian restaurant in Burlington. We will be back. read more
