    Mr. Dumpling

Mr. Dumpling serves good dumplings but not the chinese food. This restaurant is located right in the plaza near superstore grocery store at the intersection of main street and thompson in milton. Plaza have a good parking space for cars and bikes. I bought 1)stir fry vegtable with fried rice, veggie spring roll. 2) chilly chicken with fried rice gravy and veggie spring roll. 3) hot and sour chicken soup. 4) chicken steamed dumplings. 5) one pesi 591ml Total cost of all was $39. The funny part starts while the customer service rep. Takes the order she told me both chicken and stir fry vegetable eith rice will come with gravy. Hence their was no salt and no taste. She told me chicken will be spicy. Anyhow the twist comes when we have opened the stir fry vegetable with rice combo pack it tasted like a fish not a fish sauce smell but fish. However, the chicken dumplings were ok but i certainly would prefer #SCHEZWANEXPRESS In SQUAREONE MALL. I can spend money on the fuel but do not want to waste it.

It is a franchised Canadian Chinese joint but I enjoy it when I get their stuff and the cream cheese & crab dumplings are amazing.

First time eating here. I was pretty impressed. $8 taxes in, for a large portion cooked fresh.

We ordered "Flaming Japanese Style Fried Chicken" from the appetizers menu. For main, we ordered "Angus Steak Set with Rice" and Super Deluxe Teppanyaki Rice". Everything was fresh and flavourful. We loved the sizzling plates when they were served. Also, October-born customers get a free chocolate or green tea lava cake with ice cream. There are different locations throughout the GTA, serving the exact same menu and concept. Service is fast and efficient. You order on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Food comes out within ~5 minutes - very fast! The menu is quite extensive. They have a wide variety of teppanyaki rice sets available, as well as noodles, mini hot pot (including individual servings), and various drinks and Asian desserts. I love that you can customize each dish by adding the add-ons (additional ingredients). You can even "build your own teppanyaki set" by choosing the carbs, sauce, protein(s), and add-ons (including vegetables). We only tried the teppanyaki rice sets this time around. The Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables consisted of cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, and corn. This was listed under "snacks" category, and we thought it would be a good veggie dish accompaniment to the other main dishes. I found it to be very salty and saucy. It had an aftertaste that I didn't really like. The pieces of green pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms were very small, that you could barely taste them. It was mostly white cabbage shreds and corn. The 3 teppanyaki rice sets (including one deluxe set) were good. The Jumbo Unagi Teppanyaki Rice was one of my favourites - the unagi there was "jumbo" indeed (biggest and longest I had ever seen that was served with a rice set in a restaurant). I liked that it wasn't doused with too much unagi sauce wich tends to be sweet and sticky. There was a good amount of meat in the unagi as well. Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set and Seafood Rice Set (salmon, scallops, shrimps) were also decent. The Seafood Rice Set (considered a deluxe menu item) had a bigger and better salmon compared to the thin salmon slices in the Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set. The shrimps and scallops were pretty good (there were more shrimps than scallops). All dishes came with corn and green onion, and you can choose to add extra add-ons such as cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic bits, extra protein, etc. As garlic lovers, we added extra garlic bits to every teppanyaki set that we ordered. Overall, good food and fast service. I wish the Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables dish wasn't so salty, and came with more / bigger pieces of the actual vegetables rather than just mostly corn. But the other teppanyaki rice sets were good value.

Not in my opinion...especially coming from SE Asian roots and having travelled in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Majority of the dishes here seemed more of a fusion of different cultures rather than purely Indonesian. The flavours didn't quite hit the mark and spice levels were near non-existent. Seeing the fellow diners...I can see that the flavours must've been westernized. And for this style of more 'comfort/rustic' style dishes, the main dishes were quite expensive at ~$45+ each. Drinks were mild in flavour, but at least not too sweet! This was a fun try, especially if you're not one for spicy food. CASH & DEBIT ONLY. We tried the: -gado gado (Indonesian potato salad) -angus beef tandoori (with taro mash) -duck curry with crispy noodles -mango lassi -thai iced tea (more like condensed milk tea, barely had the Thai tea flavour) -specialty mojito

The restaurant is in an extremely old building where everything looks worn out and poorly maintained. The lighting is kept very dim, which honestly feels like it's there to hide how beaten-up the tables and chairs actually are. Instead of elegance, the whole place feels strange and uncomfortable. Even locating the entrance is confusing. Calling this fine dining is honestly quite embarrassing for the price they charge.

The flavours are on point. I went on a Thursday morning around 12pm and the place was so busy, all the seats in the dining area were already taken. It's also located in a nice little plaza with other restaurants to choose from like Z!Eats, Booster Juice, and Thai Express. I would say it's in a really good location where you could stroll around. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience here. I would say though that it is quite a bit expensive. The dumplings came with a salad that was basically just cabbage, so crunchy, no taste, no dressing, at all, like squeeze some juice/dressing of any kind, so no attention to detail here, at all, the chili chicken was great though, just wish I didn't three orders for a satisfying lunch, literally 3 x $5 was necessary for one person, so, good luck,

The shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling and sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf were really good. They didn't have miso soup but the tom yum soup was weird with a beefy msg soup taste to it. The general tso chicken and sweet & sour chicken lacked sauce and flavor. Also, there was too much batter. The braised beef was good flavor and would good with rice noodles. The fried coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries were delicious. The vegetable dishes were pretty bad because some may not like that they were quite crunchy and the carrots had a bad taste. The server told us it was Japanese cheesecake but it wasn't. It was still pretty good though. Said they had cappuccino and when asked we were told it was espresso. The seaweed salad was strange. didn't have the flavor like most and was padded with the additional pieces of lettuce.wth.. The food was a hit and miss. Some were good and some not so good. Not the best food in my humble opinion. Sashimi sushi is very limited in choices and were sold by the piece not included in the AYCE. The ordering system was by talking to the server and a menu they had provided and was held in a menu cover that originally was for the Pickle Barrel restaurant. Wtf, how ridiculous is that. The server was decent but sure seemed like she could improve a little in some aspects of the entire interaction times with her. Beautifully decorated place but it felt very dark and the overhead lights were off for 90% of th time we were there. They finally turned them on though The music was a bit loud and made it hard to have a conversation with others. The tables are for 2 and placed together to make it table for 4. The dishes were kinda big so took up a lot of space. In conclusion, it was an okay place and food experience . The food felt like it was prepared by not fully trained chefs but the walls were very pretty images but music was loud. i would go back if invited but only have some of their food dishes that were good.

I was disappointed and don't plan to go back, unless I could be assured the food has improved. I would not recommend going to the Republik Asian Eatery and Bar, Burlington, Ontario.
