I got a recommendation off of Next Door and I'm so glad I did. Daniel came out the next day for the estimate, gave me the price to install on the spot. I ended up going to the yard to pick out a slab and have it delivered to him for fabrication. I was working with Lowes and they were taking so long I cancelled my contract and got my money back. The countertops look amazing. He actually cut the slab I bought so perfectly. The heavy variation part of the slab he placed on the island and I couldn't even tell a seam was made at the sink as I had an apron sink installed and they had to cut around it. Just two weeks ago we had Royal Designs replace our countertops. Dan the owner came highly recommended from a friend. He does it a bit differently which saved us about $600/$800. You basically go to the wholesale distributor (there are hundreds of different rock types/looks) pick out the exact slab/s you want in your home. You pay the wholesale price and Dans company will do the installation. He walks you through the steps and it turned out beautifully. You basically cut out the mark ups and the middle man. Dan was our first quote and everyone else we had come out was significantly higher in price. Wish we wouldn't have wasted the time. A friend saw our counters and called Dan the next day. This is a very belated review as we completed our remodel in January 2020, but now that we're beginning a new project, I had the opportunity to reflect on Dan's work for us and it was unquestionably the best part of our remodeling experience. After we bought our nonrefundable slabs from the "discount tile yard," our remodeler broke the news that they had no one who could cut the stones for us (despite BRINGING us to that exact tile yard to shop). They eventually found a company that was willing to charge us more than we paid for the slabs to cut and install them. We stumbled upon Royal Designs and Dan's bid was significantly less than we were quoted with others. We had a wonderful experience with Royal Designs. We received 4 quotes and all said we needed 4 slabs, but Royal Designs said we needed 3, which saved us almost $1,000! The company is very careful with its cuts to ensure you do not end up with a lot of wasted material and extra expense. Their installation price was also the lowest of the 4 quotes and they had amazing yelp reviews so we went with them! They showed up on time the day of install and the job they did was perfect. There was only one seam and they were meticulous about getting it right. They had to point the seam out to me for me to even see it. Everything from start to finish was great! Let me start saying I HIGHLY recommend Dan & Royal Designs and think you would be foolish to go anywhere else for your countertop needs. I used Dan & Royal Designs for my kitchen countertops after reading their great Yelp reviews. Dan responded very quickly via. Yelp and quoted me a great price which ended up being exactly what I paid. He came out to measure and show me samples a couple days later. I decided to go to Arizona Tile to view a larger sample of the New Carrara quartz which I purchased through Royal Designs--payment was paid directly to AZ Tile with Royal Designs' fabricator discount attached at my order. Dan & his crew came on install day right on time. They tore out my old, uneven laminate countertops and replaced them with beautiful New Carrara quartz. He brought a plumber with him (paid separately) to replace my sink and faucet as well. They were in and out in probably less than 2 hours. I couldn't be happier with the way my countertops look and the service I received from Royal Designs. I have already recommended Royal Designs to 3 of my friends and will continue to do so at every opportunity. Will post pictures when I figure out how. read more

I had countertops installed by someone else and needed two holes drilled for an airswitch and soap dispenser. After many failed attempts to have our original fabricator come back, Dan responded in a timely manner and offered a very fair price. He cleaned up after himself and was a pleasure to work with. Dan was quick to respond to my request for a quote and quick to come out and measure. He sent a quote by text. I had to request an email with something in writing about what exactly his company would/wouldn't include, which I don't think was standard practice for him but he did comply. After we paid by Zelle he said he had all the measurements he needed, which surprised me because I thought they would need to come out and template. He did call and say he thought he could get the job done with 2 slabs instead of 3 if we added a seam, which was cool and saved us a lot of money. He also had us buy the slabs directly using his contractor's discount, which saved us money too. The installation was pretty sloppy. On the day of the install, the crew that came out unloaded some precut slabs, but then spent the day sawing and resawing to make them fit, leaving gaps and just a generally hacked together look. Our island piece went on a bit askew like they just threw it on there, so there's more and less overhang in places. They did install our undermount sink for us, but didn't mention that our garbage disposal would no longer fit/work with our plumbing because the new sink was lower. And then in general the workers left trash all over our front yard, dinged up our sliding glass door metal bottom thing with the cart as they brought in slabs so we could barely close it, dinged up one of our cabinets, pulled a cabinet side too close so that one of our drawers is difficult to open, etc. I wish we had gone with a more established, bigger company and paid a bit more for better quality and service. read more

I shopped and vetted other Yelp and non Yelp Counter Fabricators and at the end of the day I found I would be paying MORE, alot more like 2'x's more. These companies are large, expansive, have great showrooms, office staff and heavy marketing.................OF WHICH YOU PAY FOR in the Finished product. Royal Designs Kitchen Countertops truly is a "small business" yet deliver BIG RESULTS. Therefore some of those trappings and touch points you get from larger companies like fancy show rooms, multiple phone calls, huge inventory of product to show off to you, finished kitchens to parade by and touch are great however your bottom line will reflect it. Royal Designs does not have all of those "extra's" per se however they make it up in the final finished design and product. IF YOU NEED ALL OF THESE "EXTRA's" and a good amount of "PROJECT HAND HOLDING" then you may want to search out the national companies or Large companies in and out of Arizona for they will give you for .....a higher price. Now with Royal Designs you may have to do some driving to parts of the valley to look at some stone or at a finished installation (if the customer approves) however selecting the final counter top for your kitchen IS A PROCESS ...it takes some time for you to figure out what YOU WANT. Dan will provide you the information, advise you on some options when he visits your job site, look at your color scheme, photos, ideas etc and ask you the appropriate questions to guide you to the DECISION YOU NEED TO MAKE. Royal Designs will not attempt to hard upsell you on any counter type, ancillary products or services. You will find if you ask open ended questions of Royal Designs they will make suggestions to you and options you may not have considered??? Then YOU need to encapsulate to Dan the scope, size, and type of your project so can give you the Best Quality, Best Value and Best Price he can given your project vision and project details. If you trust the process, trust Royal Designs and Dan your project will turn out as you envisioned. No finished project is perfect!! Please understand that for in any kitchen touchup there will ALWAYS be things you forgot, just discovered unintentionally or just popped up so being patient and flexible with the process will pay you dividends. Lastly Kitchen or other type of counter tops are not done in a week generally so give yourself a project timeline (gant chart?) and work with Dan on this so your expectations match Royal Designs timelines they do have other customers and bigger projects. As to installation Luis is the master craftsman however once again when they do tear out make sure if you are re-using or keeping anything get it removed before they arrive or have them remove it before they start install so that there are no hiccups or mis understandings. Finally, with kitchens, water, sinks, disposals etc they ARE NOT UNIVERSAL therefore mixing and matching plumbing parts/appliances usually do not work well, even at all, therefore having the plumber look ahead of time at your plumbing design before tear out IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I recommend working with Royal Designs Plumber Alex H. who will finish everything up after Luis and his team leave your kitchen. Understanding the scope, timeline, phases and process of your project is critical so that it all comes together exceptionally well! I had placed a request online for a master vanity top. Dan replied and based on my measurements and photos he gave me a quote and instructed me to go to the yard in North Phx to pick out a reminent. He arrived today and stated I would need to pay him half the labor up front before I even had an appointment booked. I said I don't work that way. I'm not giving someone my slab of granite and half the labor costs up front. He stated "I don't work that way and really I didn't want to do this job it's too small". I'm sure there is an issue because I'm a female which is typical for his (assumed) culture and upbringing. If you are a female I don't recommend bothering working w this company or man unless you want to have your money tied up with no idea when your job might be scheduled. I got several estimates and Royal Designs was very competitive on price. I especially liked the fact that I wasn't dealing with a middle man. Dan provided helpful advice as I picked out my slabs of marble. Then came out to measure my kitchen. My slabs had a dark stripe on them and together we determined how to use the marble slabs so that the dark stripe wasn't on the main work areas of my counters. I was thrilled that Dan worked with me to get the most cuts out of my stone and we ended up being able to not only get the kitchen, but also the laundry and two bathroom counter tops. He was also able to sell me sinks directly at a discounted price which saved me the hassle of shopping for them and dealing with delivery. The quality of then workmanship was absolutely outstanding. We bought our slabs from The Yard before we had selected an installer. After contacting several of the recommended installers we decided to search outside of the list provided by The Yard. I contacted Daniel and within a couple of hours we had a meeting set up for a measurement. Daniel was prompt, courteous and very professional. We received a bid before he left our house. We purchased slabs with a lot of movement and were very particular about we wanted them to be cut and installed. Daniel catered to every change we threw at him. This was all before we had agreed to hire him to do the job. We had the kitchen, laundry room and guest bath done. Once we accepted his bid he met us at the Yard to discuss the final layout. He spent considerable time with us staring at the slabs to get exactly what we wanted. We were given a two week lead time for fabrication. He was actually done early, but we were unable to go early due to other reno projects. His team showed up on time and started immediately. The installers were very professional and neat. They tore out all the old countertops and took the debris with them. We had four new undermount sinks installed with the countertops. They had to do some onsite fabrication due to some funky angles in the kitchen. The installation is flawless. Their bid was less than one half of some of the bids we received and after looking at the quality of the work performed I cant imagine what I would have gotten for twice the price since Daniel and his crew did flawless work. My husband and I selected our granite slabs and Dan inspected them prior to us purchasing the granite.
