The vibes are immaculate, it's like 70's/hippie/dive/boutique, presentation and taste of the food was also REALLY awesome! A group of us attended last night's Sinatra Birthday Bash at the Roxy. I love this place and often go to the drop in jazz sessions and grab dinner, so I was super excited to organize this event for a number of friends/family members who had never been to the Roxy. Unfortunately, this event was less than stellar for us...... We waited a full 30 minutes after being seated before flagging down a woman who appeared to work here and asked if we could get drinks and put in our dinner order or was she our server, could she help us? She said she would let someone know - and we continued to wait - and wait - and wait..... after 15-20 minutes more, we dispersed: a couple of people went to the bar to see what was going on while the rest of us stayed at the table. Keep in mind, this place is pretty full by now and getting to the bar to actually speak with one of the two bartenders (both of whom are crazy busy) was a pretty ambitious endeavor. Another 15 minutes go by (its now been a full hour - conservatively - since we arrived!) I managed to flag down a guy that was going from table to table so I assumed he worked here and could help us, only to quickly be told that there was some "miscommunication internally" and that we are to "get our own water by the station at the door, put in food and drink orders at the bar, and oh, by the way, the menu has changed now to the late night menu." What the.....?! Shortly thereafter, the group that went to the bar comes back carrying plates, silverware, napkins and a table number, and then has to return to the bar to get their drinks because their hands were full! Seriously?! Complete disaster! This was an advance ticket purchase event with table reservations required (and made!) online so Roxy knew how many people would be attending the event and how many of them would be eating! Our food arrived rather quickly (compared to the deathly long wait time between arrival and ordering) and we voraciously wolfed down our food because at this point we were starving and we really wanted to focus on the band and the music, which is why we made early dinner reservations...the worst start possible to an event that had so much potential to be spectacular. As usual, the food and drinks were outstanding and the music was fantastic so we at least ended the evening on a good note and there is some hope that the newbies to Roxy may consider returning. Serious note to establishment: seems like you need to figure out if during events you are a bar where food is an option or a restaurant where dinner service can be managed properly, promote it accordingly so guests know what to expect, and then staff it appropriately, not just for the guests but the staff working the event. Could have been a five-star event. read more

Weird place. They have linen napkins but the decor is cowboy. The food is meant to be sophisticated but is not. The buratta was God awful. It seemed like they couldn't figure out which concept to go with. We went there hoping to hear a band but 45 min after they were to begin playing, no band was there to play. We went elsewhere. Won't be going back. I don't think this business will last in the long run unless they figure out who they are and who they are going to cater to. You have to understand who your audience is. Tonight the Sausage family dines in honor of Sally's ex-partner signing a quit claim deed. Breaking up can be mess - moreso when assets like housing are involved. To close the book on this challenging chapter, we loudly exclaim: "WE DESERVE THIS." COCKTAILS The Sausage family communion begins with a round of delicious beverages. Let us entice your senses with each Sausage's experience. Beaky Sausage enjoys a French 75. "I think I've had better, but I'm impressed they had French 75 nonetheless. It doesn't quite live up to my virgin French 75 experience." What can ever live up to a virgin experience? Unsullied, pure, the idea of an experience untainted. Reality comes crashing in like a bull, trampling your expectations into the dust of the earth. Sapphire Sausage sips sweetly at his ice water. "Glasses are great. Condensation is what you need - it's there. 7/10 water, -3 because it could be better." Howdy Sausage enjoys his aptly named "Giggle Juice." Between bouts of giggling he remarks, "It's okay. I don't hate it, but I don't love it because it's too alcohol-y and a little bit too lemon-y, and I'm not a big lemon drinker guy." Lenin and Gerdy Sausage sup at their Paper Plane. They note, ""it's refreshing. The bubbles make me feel like I'm exiting my body. Comparable to my ayahuasca experience in Peru. The Paper Plane sends me soaring." Sally and Moldy Sausage share a Tribute cabernet. Moldy: "My skin feels all tingly on the outside. It made me scrunch my nose, but it felt worth it." Sally: "apparently the table really likes it." Rainy Sauage puckers at her cider, the Black Cherry Downeast. ""Pretty good actually. Light cider, slight tinge of cherry but not a whole lot. It does not make me want to cry." I, Ricky Sausage, kind and benevolent god of Yelp, beveraged upon a Colorado Cold One. The beer was a sweet lager, much like a Coors banquet or some such, but a bit hoppier and bitter. Then I pour some in my eye and it takes it to the next level. Good luck not getting kicked out of the restaurant for this one! FOOD After imbibing a plethora of drinks - nay - a CORNUCOPPIA OF DRINKS, a horn-of-plenty so full to bursting with liquid that merely touching said cornucoppia would unleash a torrent upon the Earth of biblical proportions, we proceed to dine. Nay! FEAST upon a CORNUCOPPIA OF FOOD much like our wandering puritanical forefathers before us. Beaky munches on the Kale-lorado. "I was sad they didn't have chicken breast, but the salmon was excellent. I couldn't taste the fork, which was a good thing I think. I did take a few bites of Ricky's pork-" she says as she knocks my fork out of my pork. Sapphire pecks with his fleshy beak at the Reuben. ""Taste is great, sauce is great. Seems like they have portion sizes that they have to stick to by Big Reuben these days. I don't know who isn't afraid of Big Reuben. They could have a little bit more to it." Conspiracies aside, Big Reuben is out to get us all. Howdy, in active defiance of Big Reuben (come get me, BR) eats a Turkey Club proudly. "I like to respect woman. The bread is too crusty. I don't think there's any blood in my mouth. Yeah, I don't prefer blood." Gerdy also stands strong with Howdy, dining on a Turkey Club. "The raspberry jam really gives it a pop. The toothpicks were very clean." Lenin grazes on a strawberry field salad, plate as wide and strong as a true strawberry field. "It's great. Very refreshing. Barratta is delicious. It feels like the arugula is sourced from Mexico - the good stuff they have to smuggle across the border." Sally befriends her Salmon Flat Bread. "It's good. Spicy. The salmon was named Franklin, I think. His death was probably very sad, but my experience of eating him was fine. But I was sad while remembering the experience of his death. The capers did him dirty." Rest in peace in Sally's stomach, Franklin. Moldy partakes of the Truffle French Fries, a classic as American as apple pie, cherry pie, pecan pie, etc. "They taste like truffle fries, but I don't see any truffle on the fries. I don't know why my truffle fries have blue cheese, but it's not bad." We were too scared to ask about their truffle pig because Big Reuben was watching us. Finally, I avail myself of the macaroni with pork supplement. My first bite took me to the moon, robbed of oxygen and atmosphere. As the vacuum yanked at my eyeballs, the pork brought me back to earth just in time. Yum! CONCLUSION Did you make it this far, reader? Are you still awake? In summary, the Sausage family were pleased by Roxy. It's not often a music venue can pull off food and drink, but Roxy does so with a flourish. All of the Sausage family will remember this day. What a fun music venue with some good food and cocktails. My group decided to go early before our Ivory Circle single release party (go check out this great local band if you haven't heard of them) when we realized they had food options. I was able to get a reservation easily through yelp and we even got to keep our seats for the show. Another fun fact about this venue, 100% of ticket sales go straight to the band! Now onto the good stuff, food and drink. I tried the Boston Sour and a Aperol Spritz. Both were decent but not $12 a pop worthy. My husband and I split truffle fries, carnitas tacos, and avocado toast (it's spelled backwards on the menu if you have trouble finding it). -Truffle fries, didn't really get a truffle taste but the fries themselves were awesome... thicker than usual but very crispy. The aioli was ok but was missing something. -Carnitas tacos were solid, loved the green sauce on them. -Avocado toast was set up a little differently. Everything was laid out to build your own. The odd part was they had a perfectly cooked egg on the plate laying on top of the doom of avocado slices, not mashed with seasoning like most "millennial toast." read more

Really cheap poor food that was definitely a frozen bag just microwaved. Good live music but not a good place to go for food or drinks. Slightly overpriced too for the quality of food. Loved Roxy! Made a last minute plan to come here and there were no regrets. When we got there at about 8:00 it was not crowded at all. Just a few tables outside. We made a reservation just an hour before but I feel confident you could walk up and get a table. We got a bottle of the Spanish white wine. I got the Reuben and my friend got the mac and cheese. We were greeted at the door/sat by a man who was glad we were there and happy to be there himself. Fun atmosphere, great food (don't miss their Reuben), and Bear and the Beast (a regular band). We received great service. They offer craft beers from around Denver - my honey recommends the Collaboration. Shout out to Justin with the toilet plunger muted trumpet - he brought the house down. Broadway Roxy is a pretty good brunch location, I had some friends scoff at the limited menu for brunch but you have to cut any business some slack that is open in these COVID times, in my opinion. The bottomless mimosas were a flowing! I had a falafel burger for brunch the other week and it was great. It was also a nice touch to have a live DJ during brunch, that's definitely a first for me! Just got back from Roxy's. The drink was great, but the woman at the entrance was unbelievably rude. Her tone, the way she looked at me, her flimsy excuses for not letting me in, and finally relenting to allow me to sit at the bar for just one drink were all appalling. It's a busy night, reservations were made, but there's no excuse for such abysmal customer service, which felt like discrimination. She wasn't unfriendly to me, but overly friendly to every white patron who came after me. The bartenders were the same; the bar wasn't busy, yet they were friendly to everyone but me. Very cute little 20s themed bar & restaurant with great drinks. We came to have dinner on a Friday night and sit outside. This restaurant is doing a great job with COVID-19 precautions. We were appreciative that the staff were very nice and the service was quick. We ordered a margarita and a Coup de Vie to drink, which were both delicious. We started out with the Wisconsin cheese bites, which were served with marinara sauce and were very tasty. For entrees, we had the pulled pork sandwich and the macaroni with falafel. Unfortunately, these were both only mediocre, but the fries were delicious! Lastly, they have live music playing every night, which is a plus. However, the night we came, which also happened to be a gloomy Friday, was also followed by music that expressed the same mood (the other customers really seemed to like it though). Such a great vibe here! My husband and I have come for brunch and dinner! The bottomless mimosas are a STEAL for the price! The staff kept them coming and we never had to look for anyone for a refill. The food portions are huge! The breakfast croissant was delicious! I was super bummed they don't have the brisket Benedict for brunch and the brisket also wasn't available when we went for dinner. After talking to the waitress we learned they do seasonal menus and things that you loved may be pulled! There's a long list of themed nights here with all kinds of dinner/drink specials!
