Historic bar and eatery that offers a relaxed sports bar vibe with secret passageways and Hidden speakeasies. The food is above average, considering it is a bar mostly. There are multiple outdoor patios that can accommodate groups of people.

My boyfriend and I did the five-venue bar hop at Roxanne's and had such a great experience from start to finish. We were welcomed by our event host Meredith with a champagne toast to kick off the evening, which was such a fun touch. The experience includes one drink at each venue, and at the distillery you also get three small tasting samples that are 99 proof. We started at the distillery and it was a very cool experience. You get snack pairings along with the tasting samples, and Meredith was extremely knowledgeable about how everything is made. You can tell there is a lot of passion behind the experience. Next we went to the Exhibition Room speakeasy, which was honestly one of the coolest speakeasies I've been to. You enter through a phone booth with a password, and once inside it truly feels like stepping into the Prohibition era. The atmosphere was top notch. The bartender personally designed all of the drinks and took the time to explain each one to us. The drinks were incredible -- my cocktail there may have honestly been the best drink I've ever had, and I've had plenty over the years. After that we were taken to the tiki bar on the patio. I was amazed by the design and attention to detail. I've been to many tiki bars before, but this one really stood out. The bartender was so knowledgeable and even gave us a taste of a mezcal blend that completely changed my opinion of mezcal. It was smooth, balanced, and probably the best mezcal I've ever tasted. The custom tiki cocktails were amazing too. We finished back at the main bar where we each had another drink. On weekends they have a DJ, which made the atmosphere really fun and lively. The food is served until 10 PM and the fajitas were amazing. They also have a banquet hall, and there was a party going on while we were there, plus pool tables and plenty to do. Overall this was such a unique and memorable night out. Every venue had its own atmosphere and personality, the drinks were outstanding, and the staff made the whole experience feel special. Highly recommend for date night or anyone wanting a fun night in Long Beach.

We celebrated our Tia's Anna Birthday today at Roxanne's The food was delicious, we got the zucchini sticks and Sliders. The service was excellent, we got helped out by Jose. He did a great job for us, we were very needy lol but he was very helpful. The ambiance is very nice as well. We highly recommend Roxanne's.

Cool dive bar with a twist. Came for a drink as we were meeting up with some friends. Place is quite big with a sections that's almost a dance floor. Plenty of outdoor seating both front and the back. Believe the back is a different establishment but could be affiliated. It's another bar, a tiki bar. This place does offer food which honestly we were quite surprised that what we had was nice. Drink wise, a full bar so whatever you're craving I'm sure they can make. They do have happy hour with both food and drink menu. We had the happy hour margaritas which was quick nice and did have a kick to it. One with salt and the other with tajin. Food, the zucchini stick which was really yummy. Perfect batter which gives it the right crunch and cooked perfectly and the dipping sauce. Also the chicken quesadillas were nice. Basic but full flavors. The loaded fries with fried chicken was a hit as well. Mixed with cheese, grilled onions and shoe strings fries, it was a hit. Food was really nice. There's also a pool table in the back. Didn't see anyone playing yet as it was still kind of early but I'm sure it'll get busy later on in the evening. It's a pretty cool neighborhood bar that had great bar eats. There's a small parking lot but also street parking available. Lots of outdoor picnic table seating as well.

Came back for our clubs happy hour. Still really good place for drinks and food. Their fried zucchinis and crispy pork fries are bomb!! Really fun and cool space to hang. My only complaint was that they were short on staff that night. Waiting to get a drink made at the bar took 15 minutes. Only one bar tender handling the drinks. Hopefully will be better.

Soyrizo Taquitos

Welcoming staff, good food with quite a few vegetarian/vegan options, and a lot of live entertainment. What more could you want from a local bar? :) I ordered the soyrizo taquitos from the very friendly bartender. The plate came out promptly, about 15 minutes after I had ordered it and it tasted delicious. 4 soy chorizo taquitos with some pickled vegetables on top. I scarfed it down pretty quickly because it was so yummy. To be honest I wasn't even aware that Roxanne's had such a diverse menu, I assumed they had just the standard pub feed. But I was pleasantly surprised by how many options there were, especially for someone who is plant based like myself. I will definitely be back and try their mushroom fajitas. They also host several weekly open mics, and I think that's cool that they support their local artists. Tonight (Monday) they had comedy and most of the comedians were pretty funny. I've been to Roxanne's a few times before, but this was the first time I got food. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, considering most bars don't prioritize their food.

Tamarind wings are fire if you have not heard. The rumors are true. Tangy wings. Ordered a dozen just to have with my old fashioned. Theb only downside on this visit--the bar is out of cherries. Whhhhhhhhhhy.... !?!?!

Stopped by for an event hosted here and it was a vibe! This place has lots of seating both inside and outside! Very cool decor and music too! It was pretty empty due to it being a Sunday afternoon when we went but service was very nice. Food came out pretty quickly too! What we ordered: -Nachos: I only had one bite but they were okay, kinda burnt. The steak on it was good though. Nothing special. 3/5 -Revuelta Pupusas: These were really good! The cortida added a great tang and crunch and the salsa was delicious. There was a good ratio of cheese, meat, and masa as well! I also enjoyed the bit of crispiness! 4/5 Overall, this is a pretty cool place to grab food and drinks! They've got a versatile menu and cool vibes. We also heard from one of the workers that there's 2 other bars and a distillery located within the venue as well so I'll definitely be checking those out next time!

It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

They have a few dedicated parking spaces, but street parking was also easy to find. The exterior is modest and understated, but the neon grasshopper sign really pops and gives you a hint of what's waiting inside. Upon entering, we were greeted by security, which immediately helped us feel safe and comfortable. The ambiance was elegant, sophisticated, and timeless. Tasteful vintage artwork of women adorned the walls, while the balanced lighting created just the right mood. The cozy booths are perfect for intimate conversations, and the bar seating gives guests an opportunity to chat with the bartenders. Every detail--from the beautiful light fixtures to the convenient purse hooks--felt thoughtfully considered. The cocktail menu offers a great variety of creative craft cocktails and classics, along with beer and draft selections. Of course, I had to try the Grasshopper cocktail, and it did not disappoint! Served in a coupe glass, it was beautifully presented, delicious, and very well made. The service was prompt and attentive, and the quality of the drinks made me want to return and explore more of the menu. I also appreciate when an establishment carries its aesthetic throughout the entire space, and The Grasshopper certainly does. Even the spacious, clean bathrooms featured fun insect-themed artwork. There's also an outdoor patio for anyone who wants some fresh air or a livelier conversation with their group. I visited on a weeknight, but I noticed a DJ setup and disco ball, so it looks like the space is ready for a fun night of music as well. I love a beautifully decorated bar that feels elevated and refined--a place where you can enjoy a quality cocktail or two, feel safe and well cared for, and genuinely want to tell your friends about it. First impression, why did we need reservations.... Since we didn't know the hidden entrance. Well, it's a cool concept once we entered. There's a dress code so be advised. What I found out was the entrance of the speakeasy was through a phone booth that next to the pool table of Roxanne's bar. Once reservations is made, you'll received an email with a password to enter. Enter phone booth and to connect to the inside and they'll open the door for you. It was good but nothing major to rave about. The drinks were quite nice and tasty. What they offered on the menu did have a load of good choices. Tables scattered throughout as well as bar seating. There's a piano which maybe used for live music. Overall, the moody speakeasy vibe was great. Friendly staff and bartender made some great drinks. What we had to snack on, the meat pie was just ok. The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. This section does get really busy though and only had one bartender who is making/serving drinks and taking orders, so do expect a bit of a wait. Overall, highly recommend checking out this vibey vintage Taiwanese-inspired speakeasy (that my inner history nerd was so excited about), and I'll definitely be back to try their food items as well as their two other bar/restaurant concepts!

What made the experience more uncomfortable was that the bartender seemed to be giving most of his attention to the Caucasian customers on the other side of the bar. We were the only Asian customers there, and unfortunately, this left us feeling like we were being treated differently because of our race. The good food and drinks helped compensate for the poor service, so we decided not to let it ruin our evening. However, things got even more disappointing at the end. After I paid, I noticed that I had been charged for the crispy rice even though we never received it. When our server tried to address the issue, the bartender appeared to ignore both her and us, so we eventually left. I hope management sees this review and reaches out to me to address the overcharge and the overall experience.
