It haa really gone downhill bad. We have had it multiple times again in the last few months. The food just is sloppy and doesnt taste fresh anymore plus whoever is cooking is way overcooking things. The service also has been really off. No ice in drinks, no silverware, giving us to go boxes while we were still eating and this was at lunch time and it wasn't crowded. read more

Ordered 20 boneless wings went to get them was not informed their boneless wings were chicken tenders tossed in sauce. 55$ later and 20 tenders as the menu doesn't state they are tenders. Make sure you ask questions due to the lack of information on their menu. Food was good though. read more

I haven't dined in yet, but I've had it delivered. We all know that delivery usually the food comes and it's subpar. That's not the case here. The food arrives and it's still very fresh and delicious. The burger are great, the wings are great and even the fries are good. The prices definitely match the quality of the food you get. My wife and I have been coming here since they first opened. It has now become our go-to place when we want a guaranteed great meal, great drinks, fantastic service; All at a fair price!  We also love the variety available on their menu.   At some restaurants I find one or two things to choose between.  At Rowley I must divide between 4 or 5 I know will be great!  Just last week I was tempted by the Ahi Tuna Poke, but also a half dozen other favorites!  I am glad I did try it because to was delicious.  And props to whoever manages the waitstaff.   Not the but professional and friendly, regardless of who serves us.  Keep up the great work! read more

Caitlin was our server and she was delightful! We enjoyed the tasty cocktails and nice selection of local beers. On to the burgers... I enjoyed the Parisian with an upgraded side of Brussels sprouts!! DELICIOUS! The first few bites are enjoyed without ketchup so you can enjoy the flavors the chef is offering. Yum! Pretty good pub food. Solid burger with generous bacon and cheese. Perfectly cooked. Chicken Capreese also good, but the lettuce inside the hot wrap was slimy. Not a good idea to put lettuce in a steamy hot wrap. Rest of it delicious. The Truffle Fries were good, but for some reason the topping made the fries too mushy. Crispy cauliflower were delicious, could have been seasoned more, but still good. Some areas of opportunity include: better lighting. The light rings are really awful and kills that warm restaurant ambiance. LED lights should never be used at this Kelvin rating. Way too blue and cold. Also temp in the restaurant on the cold side. Other than that we'll come back for a quick dinner. Good was good. read more

This is one of our go-to places since we live somewhat close to Winsted. The poutine is our favorite thing on the menu, and the portion sizes are pretty good. The service is always great and the food comes out really quickly. Their bar area is a little small but it's comfy and a nice spot to just relax and have a drink if you want. If it's a nice day out we always sit outside, have a drink, share some apps. Great spot in a small town! read more

I feel like the name promises what you'll receive - they have a grill, and you can get traditional burgers, tacos, comfort food, and they have a tap with beer readily available at a nice bar. Most of the seating is in the front room, although there is walled in outdoor dining and a second room in the back (perhaps for when they're really busy). The decor is kind of cowboy meets city, I suppose? One wall had a unique display of beer dispenser pulls, and another had a cows skull. It could be a bit difficult to get the waitresses attention, but once had refills and extra sauces were reasonably quick in the coming. They were all very friendly though, and helped each other out with their tables! The food was tasty - the burger was juicy and well seasoned, and the fries had a good crisp to their cooking. The nachos for the appetizer needed more cheese beyond a thin layer on the top, and came out a little cold. They were very flexible about putting their chili on the side, which came out in a huge cup. read more

Had lunch here with the wife today, we were 1st Timers to Rowley Grill & Tap. Place was clean, very spacious booths, had a slight "hipster vibe" to it. A bit out of place for Winsted, IMO, but hey, we were alright seated and hungry, so we went with it. Wife wanted a Bloody Mary to start off with. The drink had a strong flavor of something (not alcohol) and it she said it was a bit off, she's had better. We also ordered the horseradish honey mustard wings for an appetizer. Ah, the wings were just OK, nothing special. Couldn't really detect much horseradish flavor at all (or heat either). We were thinking at this point that lunch was going to be a bust, but we were both pleased with our burgers. My wife went with the Texas burger, she really loved the caramelized onions -- they were sweet tasting and melted in her mouth. My Mac Daddy Burger had a nice, smokey flavor from the pulled pork, excellent. Both burgers were cooked perfectly, they really hit the spot. Buns toasted too, we liked that also. Generous portions, we left more than satisfied. Service was very good also, our waitress was friendly & attentive. We'd definitely come back in the future, based on how good the burgers were. Found while out and about with no particular plans for an early dinner today. You don't expect much walking in, but the food is great. One of the better chicken cordon bleus around. Rowley's is a solid experience, the food is good, the restaurant is clean. Bar area is fun for watching a game or getting a quick drink. However the kitchen needs to communicate with their waitresses. Last time I was there I ordered the gyro taco special, it came with no tzatziki just plain sour cream. When I asked about it the waitress was like "oh we're out." More recently, I ordered the poutine and instead of cheese curds, it came with shredded mozzarella. The kitchen should be letting the waitresses know what's 86'd so customers know what they're getting if it is different than what the menu states. read more

I cannot recommend Rowley's enough. The dine in experience is wonderful and the staff is very polite. We order Rowley's through GrubHub all the time and they are VERY fair with their pricing and the food is always the same (amazing) every time we order. We had Rowley's cater our sons birthday and everybody was raving about how delicious everything was. The pricing was also very reasonable. I stopped by here with a coworker as we were heading back to Hartford looking for a place to stop for dinner. Rowley's menu had a nice variety of food and a few different items so we decided to stop there. We arrived a little later in the evening and it wasn't too crowded inside. The inside looks newer and was very clean. My coworker and I ended up splitting the crispy cauliflower for an appetizer and I ordered the pear salad with blackened salmon and balsamic dressing for my entree. The cauliflower was a tasty selection and the dipping sauce that came with it gave it a nice savory salty flavor. The salad ended up being better than I expected. The balsamic dressing on it was rather thick which is very unusual for balsamic. It ended up being able to be spread easily through the salad. The salmon was cooked very nicely and the savoriness of the salmon worked very well with the sweetness of the pears. I enjoyed my meal here and thought the price was reasonable. I would not hesitate to come back if I find myself out this way again. read more

I stopped by here a couple of Wednesday evenings ago with my coworker for dinner. We were traveling through Winsted whenever we found Rowley Grill & Tap on Yelp and so headed over. It was seat yourself and so my coworker and I decided to sit at a booth. The inside of Rowley is bright with a ton of can lights as well as some interesting bigger lights. The dining room is in the front of the restaurant and contains a number of tables and booths while the bar is in the back and has both bar seating and high top tables. For dinner on this evening my coworker and I decided to split the crispy cauliflower appetizer and then I tried to go with the Korean Friend Chicken for my entree. However after ordering it, our waitress came back and let me know that they were out of it. Eventually I chose the Bar-B-Cuban with fries and asked for a side of the gochujang sauce which is half the reason I was trying to order the Korean Fried Chicken. Sadly that's what they were out of and so I wasn't ever able to try it. In any case the menu describes the crispy cauliflower as coming with ponzu dipping sauce and togarashi while the Bar-B-Cuban (great name/concept in my opinion) consisted of pulled pork, BBQ, Swiss, mustard and bacon on a ciabatta roll. First out was the cauliflower which had a light and crispy batter on it. Sadly it was also quite greasy. To help combat that I dipped it into the enjoyable ponzu dipping sauce which was citrusy, slightly spicy and salty. After we had finished with the appetizer our entrees came out. My sandwich was definitely interesting. While I would say that overall it was pretty tasty, if you got a bite with everything inside of it including the pickles, it seemed somewhat confused. The fries on the side here were hot when they were brought out and all of them crispy without a single soggy one. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. So to start off, the food isn't bad at all. They have a good menu choice and some unique plates. However when I sat down I was greeted by the waitress who happened to be either flustered or just plain rude. When asking simple questions about if the steaks are frozen or fresh and what size their hanger steak is I couldn't get a strait answer.To top it off she wrote nothing down and ended up putting my entree in wrong and having to remake it while I watched my friends eat. My friends burger was supposed to have no onions (he's allergic) and it still came out with them on. So we had to send that back as well. We were not disappointed with the quality of the food just the service. The hostess took over at one point and was far more helpful than our server was, they should look into having her serve instead. In the end we ended up only paying $21 for all 3 of our meals, 2 of which they took completely took off the bill with us even asking. Great recovery! All in all I'd give it a 7/10 read more

I took my boyfriend here we both never been here so I decided to give it a try, I had a cheese burger with fries and my boyfriend a steak everything was so great and good nice waitress who got a $7 tip from us. The place is nice and quite when we were there at 4pm,place is beautiful and they would of had a 5 star rating if they weren't so cheap on the fries...
