Devouring the food

This was the closest restaurant when googling "restaurants near me". Everything was so delicious , good beer list, good food, good service. I'll find a reason to be in the area again to eat here .

Wow! Great food! Great drinks! Great service!! Looking for a burger on a rainy Sunday evening and Rowley's came up. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. Caitlin was our server and she was delightful! We enjoyed the tasty cocktails and nice selection of local beers. On to the burgers... I enjoyed the Parisian with an upgraded side of Brussels sprouts!! DELICIOUS! The first few bites are enjoyed without ketchup so you can enjoy the flavors the chef is offering. Yum! My husband enjoyed the Texan with bbq & brisket!! Yum!! I highly recommend this restaurant!! Food is fresh and delicious!! Service is friendly and professional. Super chill!! Thanks!!

This is one of our go-to places since we live somewhat close to Winsted. The poutine is our favorite thing on the menu, and the portion sizes are pretty good. The service is always great and the food comes out really quickly. Their bar area is a little small but it's comfy and a nice spot to just relax and have a drink if you want. If it's a nice day out we always sit outside, have a drink, share some apps. Great spot in a small town!

I feel like the name promises what you'll receive - they have a grill, and you can get traditional burgers, tacos, comfort food, and they have a tap with beer readily available at a nice bar. Most of the seating is in the front room, although there is walled in outdoor dining and a second room in the back (perhaps for when they're really busy). The decor is kind of cowboy meets city, I suppose? One wall had a unique display of beer dispenser pulls, and another had a cows skull. It could be a bit difficult to get the waitresses attention, but once had refills and extra sauces were reasonably quick in the coming. They were all very friendly though, and helped each other out with their tables! The food was tasty - the burger was juicy and well seasoned, and the fries had a good crisp to their cooking. The nachos for the appetizer needed more cheese beyond a thin layer on the top, and came out a little cold. They were very flexible about putting their chili on the side, which came out in a huge cup.

Crispy Cauliflower. Delicious but needed better seasoning on the cauliflower. Batter was good.

Pretty good pub food. Solid burger with generous bacon and cheese. Perfectly cooked. Chicken Capreese also good, but the lettuce inside the hot wrap was slimy. Not a good idea to put lettuce in a steamy hot wrap. Rest of it delicious. The Truffle Fries were good, but for some reason the topping made the fries too mushy. Crispy cauliflower were delicious, could have been seasoned more, but still good. Some areas of opportunity include: better lighting. The light rings are really awful and kills that warm restaurant ambiance. LED lights should never be used at this Kelvin rating. Way too blue and cold. Also temp in the restaurant on the cold side. Other than that we'll come back for a quick dinner. Good was good.

Excited for some lunch after kayaking Colebrook reservoir!

Menu was nice! Lots of variety, with quality ingredients. Food was good but draft beer was a little flat and burgers aren't cooked to instruction (well done and medium). We'd go back but, would emphasize the temperature of the meat :-) Nachos and service were both good!

Bloody Mary, at Rowley Tap & Grill in Winsted, CT.

Had lunch here with the wife today, we were 1st Timers to Rowley Grill & Tap. Place was clean, very spacious booths, had a slight "hipster vibe" to it. A bit out of place for Winsted, IMO, but hey, we were alright seated and hungry, so we went with it. Wife wanted a Bloody Mary to start off with. The drink had a strong flavor of something (not alcohol) and it she said it was a bit off, she's had better. We also ordered the horseradish honey mustard wings for an appetizer. Ah, the wings were just OK, nothing special. Couldn't really detect much horseradish flavor at all (or heat either). We were thinking at this point that lunch was going to be a bust, but we were both pleased with our burgers. My wife went with the Texas burger, she really loved the caramelized onions -- they were sweet tasting and melted in her mouth. My Mac Daddy Burger had a nice, smokey flavor from the pulled pork, excellent. Both burgers were cooked perfectly, they really hit the spot. Buns toasted too, we liked that also. Generous portions, we left more than satisfied. Service was very good also, our waitress was friendly & attentive. We'd definitely come back in the future, based on how good the burgers were. Will write an update when that happens.

First time dining here. Our friend recommended it after we tried the new Brewery down the road. The restaurant is very clean & cozy. The waitstaff was very friendly & provided excellent service. The food was great. We ordered several apps: fried pickles, cauliflower w/sesame dip & wings, all were equally delicious!! 3 of us ordered burgers, which were very good & cooked perfectly. 1 of us ordered fish tacos, which were good.

The kitchen is open and does not have ventilation so we were stuck all night sitting in an environment with burnt food (probably toast) smell. The smoke was heavy and made eyes water. Anyone with a sense of providing comfort to the guests would have at least opened the door. You get what you pay for. The food was mediocre to say the best. Very strange to have such a lovely environment and serve such uninteresting food in a burning food smell environment. I was really shocked. Apparently, one of the owners is from NYC - they would shut the place down with the lack of ventilation. Pity! Could have been a super cool and lovely place. - Eyes still burning. Will never recommend or return. First time in my life that I write such a poor review.

A Valentine's dinner that did not impress!…read more Valentine's has always been a very special holiday for me. My husband and I decided to spend the weekend in the Berkshires, which was lovely and quiet. I made reservations ahead of time for this highly rated wine bar and very close to where we were staying. First off, due to the previous weather/storms they had no street parking. But luckily we parked in a nearby lot. Upon arrival, the restaurant bar area was very nice and romantic. The server brought us to our table but I was a bit disappointed in the ambiance. I mean the bar area was a bit darker and the table that we were being seated at had a lot of light. Now, don't get me wrong, It was Valentine's day which screams romantic and there was no romantic vibe to this restaurant. After mentioning this to our server she did move us and turned down the lights a bit which was much better. Food/Drinks: The menu was not big at all which was nice. I ordered a dirty martini to start which needed more olive juice and my husband ordered a rum cocktail which he enjoyed. For starters, I ordered their Over Roasted Parsnip which was very good and filling. My husband had their Beet Salad which he said was excellent. For entrees, I had their Seared Duck Breast. I really enjoyed the caramel sauce but did not love the duck itself. My husband had the Oven Roasted Chicken Statler which was very dry he could barley eat it. Also, since this is a wine bar I will say the wines were nothing special which was also a bit disappointing. I wish they had something unique and special to offer especially being on a Valentine's Day. I feel this place may be more of a summer destination. Service: Service was excellent I will say. Our server was always asking how things were, checking on us and if we needed anything and asking about any additional drinks. etc. Also, the Manager came over to ask how everything was but he spefically looked at me. I think my husband would've mentioned his meal being dry if he looked at him as well but my husband could've spoken up too. We did say something to our server after she asked about the chicken dish, which they ended up taken off the bill which was very nice. Overall: I didn't love Alta Wine Bar my first time here, but I would come back in the spring or summer months when the weather is warm to try it again. Cheers~
