Great experience with Rowan. We came to pierce my 5 mo old daughters ears. Obviously it hurt at first but she was fine afterwards with no issues. The site helpfully recommended we have a bottle ready for her afterwards which made her feel a lot better. The person who pierced her was so great and patient and explained everything clearly for me (and even had no problem repeating things a few times when i asked). Thanks again! read more

I can't begin to explain the horrible experience I had on 10/25/26. I came here with such high hopes and talked this place up to my husband because we've done our older daughter's ears at Claire's. My 7 month old is our last baby and I wanted her ear piercings to be a memory for not just us but her sisters. The store was super busy when we walked in but made an appointment for there next available time as we were asked to by the supervisor. Once our time came for her appointment there was a lack of acknowledgment to us until finally I was asked if I was helped yet. I was then asked what I was there for and I explained. I made it clear I wanted the round back pieces for my babygirl because the butterfly ones could stab her and she rolls a lot right now. The whole appointment felt rushed and nothing like the videos or reviews had mentioned. Once it was all said and done I went to pay for the service and my husband came back inside from consoling our daughter to point out her earrings had the butterfly back pieces. After mentioning the mistake we just had a quick "oh I'm sorry for that who did you speak too" when I pointer at the front desk (diff from supervisor) they just looked at each other and just had the face of not wanting to deal with this issue. After waiting while all these customers were helped before me, I then went on to ask for compensation because this whole experience was not it. I came there not just for the piercing but the for the experience they advertised and I was given the coldest I'm sorry I can't do that. The supervisor showed no empathy for the situation she just kept sighing and looking at me with no expression. I just paid and left crying because there was nothing I could do. For any moms of babies please do not come to this location. Please pick a different one. I don't fault Rowan just this location and the lack of empathy showed by all the staff there on that day. Please do better. I can never get back this experience with my daughter. read more

I took my daughter to the Mosiac location. Amber was our nurse and she made sure to explain everything thoroughly and took her time to ensure my daughter felt comfortable. My daughter loved the experience and the after care directions were detailed and easy to follow. read more

Claire's got an upgrade! Conveniently located in Mosaic Center, Rowan is a piercing shop with aesthetic pink walls, trendy neon lighting, and trained licensed nurses providing handheld device or needle piercings. The store accepts walk-ins but I highly recommend making an appointment as the shop gets really busy (especially on weekends). Appointments are thirty minutes long but in reality it takes about fifteen minutes (depending on how busy they are). We went with a group of toddlers / elementary age children and the pretty atmosphere, branded hair ties, and lollipops made them feel at ease. They loved being able to look at the display case of earrings, placing the samples on their ears, and choosing their new jewelry. We worked with one nurse in particular and she was absolutely patient and wonderful. The other one was not particularly customer oriented, but she got the job done. Crying was minimal and we were all pleased with the results. Cleanliness, attention to detail, and aftercare instructions were great. Love how this company was able to turn ear piercing into a true experience + fun memory for all. read more

The easiest piercing process I have ever experienced. So great I visited 2 times in one week. Highly recommend for children's ear piercing. The nurses handle my youngest with ease and she had an amazing experience. For myself I was in and out in 15 mins. Booking is easy online and includes the price list so there will be no unexpected fees. Tips: 1. Walk ins availability is offered. 2. The piercings can become expensive if you choose gold options for earrings. 3. They offer a variety of studs for initial piercings and do sell earrings as well. 4. The aftercare solution is not included with the cost of the piercing. It is an additional $20 if you decide to purchase. 5. Clean and cutely designed. read more

+ clean facilities + cute piercing shop + free parking + ability to make appointment online + seen at appointment time + quick appointment + cute bag with aftercare info + unisex bathroom has a changing table - piecer was dry, not friendly, despite the job requiring you to be in someone's personal space - she couldn't explain what a butterfly back was in comparison to an earring back that screws on - no one shared that the spray wasn't included. It was $20 - American tip culture is so annoying. There was a tip screen at checkout. read more

Rowan Mosaic District - Price of lobe piercing - Jewelry Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

I spent $700 at Rowan in March. I got 2 third holes in my lobe and 2 helixes. The price of the earrings were absolutely ridiculous for one, but I spent it because I thought the whole experience was cute. After the healing time, I pulled my left helix out and the bar came out with the back. When I called Rowan Fairfax corner they said there was nothing that they could do. Thankfully corporate did send me a new earring. However, that very same earring got embedded the flat back into the back of my ear and I had to go to urgent care to get it cut out and be put on antibiotics. Now after I dealt with that, I decided to leave my right helix in bc it never stopped hurting enough so I decided not to change anything and now I realize it's bc I have a GIANT red bump right next to the piercing. So I will be having to go back to the doctor for that now and $700 later plus urgent care fees the only earrings that did not absolutely obliterate my ears are the third hole lobe piercings which I could've gotten for a fourth of what I paid for anywhere else. The piercer also was so slow that even with my very high pain tolerance, I was like get this over with. I say stay away! read more

Highly recommended for pediatric ear piercing. It's hard to get in with a doctor for ear piercing in this area so the option to have nurses perform the procedure is clutch. They were prompt, kind, and very understanding with my squirmy infant. The earring selection was well-rounded, with a variety of styles and price points. The jewelry is high quality and the service comes with very helpful post-care instructions. The location also has a lot of great places in the area to hang out and cool down after. read more

Rowan Mosaic District - Jewelry Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

I decided to give Rowan another try. I had originally tried their Ashburn location when they first opened and I was so turned off by the lack of professionalism thru the process. This location was completely DIFFERENT. I had a scheduled appointment and the lady at the front explained thoroughly the process of the piercing (needle vs the gun), earrings pricing, how it would be done and the cost of everything. The nurse who did the piercing was nice and made sure the placement was perfect before the actual piercing. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to get a piercing done. read more

We took our daughter there for a second piercing. It was nothing short of a professional and fun experience. We'd definitely recommend this place to others. read more

I took my very nervous daughter to get her ears pierced at Rowan in the Mosaic District. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They were incredibly patient and kind. They comforted her and gave her the patience and comapssion to help her conquer her fear. Such kind and caring service is not the norm these days. Bonus...I also got second peircings to help the process. They did a great job. So professional. If you are thinking about getting a piercing, I would encourage you to make the trip to visit these kind and lovely women. read more

Overall great experience at Rowan. We went for my daughter's birthday--six !--they were so patient, kind and accommodating to a scared kid, who may have been a bit overdramatic between ear one and two. The tech/nurse took her time. Explained everything and did a superb job with placement etc. I knocked a star bc when we were leaving they went over cleaning protocol and made it sound like the spray was just included in the service. It definitely was not--and cost $20! I didn't realize until after we left and then we returned it bc--alcohol swabs do the same thing. But I also realized the tip screen (auto percent selection) went on the entire purchase!! Not just the service. So she got a 40% tip...which, yes is on me, but also not really acceptable for the percents to be put up so high when you are paying for the service and products in one...just the piercing with lowest cost earring would have been $100 (piercing itself $50). TLDR: great service. Be diligent when at the checkout counter... read more

I honestly think this shop is so overpriced!! I got my cartilage pierced about 5 months ago and for some reason now I'm getting a bump behind it and it hurts I bought there natural spray cleaner I applied that after like they said and it's gotten infected now I try to call to see how I can go by this infected ear and they don't answer is just a automatic voicemail ridiculous!!!! read more

Wouldn't recommend- super cheap quality earrings they make you purchase. Had to replace ours like 3-4 times because they kept popping off. Also for two people's ears to get pierced it came out to almost $600... that's insane pricing. Go to a tattoo shop! read more

Did a walk in to get my 1 year old's ears pierced and they were so kind and patient with us! I had a bad experience before somewhere else and they really made me feel comfortable. The store was well kept and the process was very quick and easy! Definitely recommend. read more

It's twice as expensive as Claire's but besides the fancy decor in the shop I don't see any thing else that's worth the price. The nurse who did the piecing was okay but sounded impatient. Service was cold. Or no service at all? My daughter did her first earlobe piercings more than 8 weeks ago and both ears still get infected from time to time. I have to order another bottle of cleanser myself. Overall it's an okay place but for the price I had to pay I would not recommend. read more

Jamie was great getting my 8 year old daughter's earrings, she was friendly, professional and quick!

Would not recommend this place for Toddler piercings! I never really write bad reviews but I think it's important for ppl with little kids to know that this might not be the place for a 4-5 year to get piercings. We had a bad experience with them with my 4 year old here. My daughter was adamant she wanted to get her ears pierced that day. We drove 25 mins out of our way as they have licensed nurses doing the piercings but Diana who was helping us had no idea how to interact with toddlers and she herself seemed anxious and unsure about piercing for a toddler. It was clear she had never done piercings for a toddler before. My daughter was a little anxious about the pain and she kept trying to interact with Diana to develop some trust and get some reassurance but Diana seemed annoyed with my daughter's questions, was kind of cold, not pleasant and kind. Many times she straight up ignored my daughter's questions and just stayed quiet instead and I had to jump in and answer instead, it was so wrong! It seemed she expected a 4 year old to just quietly go through the process?! If you have a 4 year old you know they have a lot of questions about everything. She asked my daughter a gazillion times if she wanted to get the piercings through out the process and prolonged the process painfully, like why are you making it a big deal to simply mark her ears with a pen, all that should be made to be a happy exciting part of the process right?! She prolonged the process so much, made it seem daunting instead of being reassuring, excited and swift. Our daughter didn't end up getting the piercing that day, I don't blame her! They made us buy the earrings for $60 anyway and now we're looking for a more kid friendly place to get the piercing. read more
