My husband loves Round Table Pizza and my family loves pizza. We decided to order 3 large pizzas (King Arthur, 1/2 chicken pesto & 1/2 wambo combo, 1/2 pepperoni & 1/2 cheese) for dinner. I called in my order and asked for a 4:15pm pickup. The family ended up coming over early for dinner and I drove there at 4pm hoping that they might have it ready. hahaha 5 stars!!!!! The place has been cleaned up! They now have pitchers of beer for $13.50 and they even gave me my takeout order early! So Round Table pizza and I have a long history. I used to absolutely LOVE this pizza in San Jose on Lincoln Ave...... When they had the old ovens, the crust was amazing..... they had to put a lot of cornstarch or something on the bottom, but it was awesome. I loved that garlic chicken/white sauce pizza and along with Willow street pizza, these were my two spots there!!!!! So I have been getting my fix at the Hilton (inconvenient but good) and at Giovanni Pastrami (ok). The one in Kailua is just as hard to get to..... Come on and open one in Aiea or something LOL!!!!! This review is for the Round Table, Pizza, KAILUA LOCATION. I make this distinction because there is a huge difference between this location and the two Waikiki locations! The Kailua location is the original, old style pizza made with a brick oven. Their pizza is reminiscent of Shakey's pizza that was here in the 70s/80s! Wow, I'm really aging myself with that comment! If you want a truly gourmet, well-made pizza, this is the place to go! Again, don't be fooled with the Roundtable name, because the Waikiki locations are not the same as the Kailua location! They are located in the Enchanted Lakes area in the same parking lot as the old Safeway, Starbucks, McDonald's, and Ben Franklin! We love trying new places and embrace this adventure wholeheartedly. However, on this occasion we were VERY disappointed after trying Round Table Pizza for the first (and last) time, which is a rarity given my love for pizza. First . . . WOW they're expensive!!! $30+ for a large supreme? And $23 for a small veggie? Are you kidding me? If our friend hadn't specifically requested Round Table, I would have said, "F this" and headed to Domino's or Pizza Hut. But since we were committed, I figured we could offset the excessive cost by ordering a special I found on the Round Table website, but NO, this location doesn't ride that bus (they don't participate in corporate promotions). And when I asked to redeem my Yelp check-in benefit ($3 off a large pizza), they again refused - and not nicely at all I might add. Second . . . the food was mediocre at best. Maybe my pallet isn't tuned to the "high end pizza" section, but I've eaten my fair share or pie in my time (NYC resident), and this definitely WASN'T worth even 1/2 the asking price. Third . . . sh**ty attitude. Are you kidding me??? Am I inconveniencing you??? Am I not giving you my business in these uncertain times??? Basic customer service is the bare minimum one would normally expect from a restaurant. However, if you're trying to stay open when the world (the restaurant and hospitality world in particular) is crumbling around you, the last thing you want to do is make customers feel unwelcome by being openly rude, curt and plainly unpleasant. After they took our order and dropped the drinks and food they went MIA. It wasn't busy inside either. We had to go up and ask them for boxes and the check even though we asked one of the waitresses and she never returned. They no longer offer the margherita pizza, which is a bummer because it was my favorite. So we ordered two small pizzas, the King Arthur Supreme and Italian Garlic Supreme both on original crust. The King Arthur was good but the Garlic was my favorite. It had a lot of flavor and the crust was PERFECT! The original crust is thin and super crispy, it's the best pizza crust I've had for sure. They do offer pan crust if you like it thicker. We also ordered hot and spicy wings and lemon pepper wings. They were both good and came out fresh. I have loved Round Table Pizza since I was a kid. Living in town though, we normally avoid going to the one in Hilton Hawaiian Village and go to this location instead. This location in Kailua just started taking dine in again, but the dine in currently closes at 7pm. After work, we drove down and arrived at 6:50pm, worried that they would not seat us. Staff was very nice and took our order and we were able to dine in. We normally order garlic twists and a large pizza. No matter what kind of pizza we order, it is always delicious. They only had pan crust and we normally get the other option, but couldn't be picky because we did drive all that way and arrived just before closing. Those of you that frequent round table know that it was always clean (tables, windows, bathrooms etc), lots of noise (families and friends talking story), the jukebox playing, employees were like family etc...here's how today's visit went...first when ordering I had to repeat myself numerous times (there was a language barrier), I had to go back to the counter to get my soda, there was no soap in the women's bathroom, windows were dirty "shy is gay" was written on one, two employees cleaning one side of the entrance door, napkin holders on the table were dusty, no one walking around refilling water, when I finally received my pizza 30 mins later the dough was undercooked, it was honestly the WORST experience I've ever had here. I've been going to the Kailua location for over 30 years. Food has always been a favorite, although ambiance and service has changed. My ohana and I went there over the weekend to have lunch. We were going to pay separately for each family, but as we walked in, the workers assumed that we were one party, and before we even sat down, came over to tell us about the 20% gratuity. Of course I was not having that and explained to her that although we are a family, everyone is paying their own bill. She said it didn't matter because we were all together. I disagreed because we were on separate tables, and were paying with different cards. All we wanted to do was have a meal together. We asked for the manager and was told he wasn't there. Several minutes later, the electricity goes out and the workers are forced to call him. He shows up a little while later, and my daughter asked to speak with him. She was upset with the situation and told him that gratuity is earned. You have to provide a service. Yes, you bring our food to the table, but in our experience, we always stand up to go get a refill, ask for a box...no one brings it to us. So how is that 20% earned? He replied back in a condescending way and of course an argument ensued. We ended up receiving our order prior to all this happening, but my daughter wasn't able to get hers due to the electricity still being out. So in the midst of the argument, he tells the young girl that was at the counter to give us a refund, and that "they never have to come back here to eat." First of all, we didn't ask for a refund. We got our order. Secondly, and more importantly, you don't ever say something like that to a customer! That would be our choice to choose to come back or not...moral of the story, the young kids working there were great, and we told them that, BUT, that manager is something to behold. No understanding, no empathy, tried to be very condescending, and VERY POOR customer service!!! BECAUSE of him, I will NEVER eat there again!!! And I'll share our experience with our family and friends too!!! After 30 plus years supporting this establishment, and this is how we get treated! WRONG on so many levels! So to whoever is the owner of Round Table Pizza Kailua, you've lost a lifetime customer, and you'll keep losing business with your 20% gratuity, but even more so with THAT manager you have! read more

Had the most horrible experience. I usually enjoyed around Table before, but last night around 6 pm, I encountered the most arrogant Manager ever. We had a group of 13 for a celebration. We were all going to pay our group separately, group of 5, group of 5 and my group of 3. I asked the manager if they had room for us. At first he said yes we could sit on 3 different tables. Then he went on to say there would be a 15% gratuities. I asked him if we are all paying for our individual bills, he said yes cause I said we all together, I again said we're all paying separate, told him so your telling me my group of 3 is getting charged 15%, as well as the others with only 5 people he insisted yes cause I said we were together. So ridiculous said he wanted to make sure his staff got their tip, cause he felt we wouldn't leave a tip I guess. Mind you I work in the industry, I make a living off of tips, So Sad. Well we almost left then I told everyone to walk in separate as our groups, lo and behold no 15% was not added to bill, so ridiculous. I never complain but this needs to be addressed. The store, like most others, has taken measures to protect against COVID transmission. The staff are all masked up. There are plexiglass dividers at the checkout counter. It's good to see that they care about us (amd themselves!) I had a beer with my lunch today. Well, ok, I had a few beers. :) They've got Deschutes' IPA on tap and it's a yummy one. Beer was $6.50. Reasonably priced and about what I'd expect to pay when dining out. The Pizza, King Arthur's Pizza, was - as you can see by the photo, so good that I forgot to take a pic before I dove in! It's a "supreme" style pizza, and today we got it pan crust which I really enjoyed. The crust was good and not all soggy. The dough and the toppings were cooked perfectly and nice and hot out of the oven. Oh, we also got the garlic twists. Those come in a 3 or 6 piece. The ) piece was $8.50 or so. The Pizza I believe was $29. Nothing crazily high priced thankfully. I would recommend around Table Pizza for a couple of people or a group. It's a good place to hang out (for 90 minutes at a table), eat some good pizza, and in our case, enjoy some beer. Friendly atmosphere! read more

This is a classic pizza parlor: Great pizza, salad bar, large seating area, and decent selection of beer on tap. I love the King Arthur special, which includes onions, mushroom, peperoni, sausage, and anchovies. We prefer the crunchiness of the thin crust, but they also offer a pan pizza with the same toppings. Lived in Kailua all my life. Round Table Pizza was my family go to for years. Best pizza in Kailua. Not anymore. Tired of trying to call and order take out only to get denied. A few months ago it was not enough dough. Then not enough workers. Then closing early. My attempts to order a pizza get denied more than I can actually order one. The last two (Friday & Saturday) days trying to order for me was the last straw. Last night called at 7:45 realizing they close at 8, phone rings and rings no answer. Obviously they don't want to pick up phone that would mean they have to work later. Tonight, I call at 7:20 and they pick up the phone. Yippee, I'm thinking I can get a pizza. Nope. They are not taking orders because they decided to close the kitchen early. Yelp says closing hours are 10:30, their phone greeting says 11-8 daily. It's obvious to me, they want to start closing process by 7:30 in order to leave at 8 or as early as possible. I drive over at 8:05 and get the confirmation to my suspicions. All chairs are on the tables, assuming they wiped tables first, mopping almost completed, they are 10 minutes away from walking out the door. I mean really?!?!?!?!? I expect someone to stay open til 8 then start shutting down process or change your closing hours. Is it to much to ask if I call at 7:25 and closing is 8, I can get a pizza? 7:45? 7:55? 7:25?!?!? I work long hours so I usually eat later than most people. It's Friday and Saturday night and they are closing early????? If your open to 8 stay open to 8 then start your shut down duties.
