I love pizza and get really picky about it. Lately, Valentina's has become a favorite due to their specials and made to order brick oven crusts. Valentina's is in the parking lot of Tap & Barrel by Lanikai Brewing Company and their main food option. So if you're a beer fan, this is a great compliment to locally made styles of beer. The kitchen is in a trailer outside, and their food is available to go whether or not you're visiting the taproom. They have a bunch of different special options, with most featuring local ingredients. A highlight is the Bee's Knees with spicy honey, pepperoni, and pesto; rich but light. Their prices are reasonable for the quality; one pizza is the perfect size for two people, or more if you're looking for a snack. The staff is great, quick to serve. If you're enjoying the taproom, you can order with your server and they'll bring it to your table. Tap & Barrel has bar seating, high tops, booths, and my favorite outdoor tables to bring the furry friends and dine al fresco. So cute and adorable little pizza truck! We were not able to just walk up and order. You have to go in to the beer place to make an order. Both areas were not very friendly AND the process took such a long time! Maybe they were upset that we were not ordering beer! Felt uncomfortable. Pizza was bland and crust was too charred underneath. Cooks have to remember to brush/clean the oven after each pie that was baked. I got the pepperoni and my husband got sausage. Not only was there hardly any cheese or flavor besides the pepperoni, the crust was not good at all. My just said his was the same. A full 5 out of 5 stars. I have lots of food allergies, so eating out can be tough. The staff knew the ingredients so well that I was able to safely eat - AND the pizza was great. I've been turned away from enough pizza places to know that it's a treat when I can have pizza! I got the basic pizza - just dough, red sauce, cheese, and basil and it was so yummy. Great place to eat but the wait was ridiculous we waited about 15 minutes for our food. I would say come here when your about to be hungry or else you might start getting hangry. If you love thin crust pizza this is the spot! I usually love thin crust, but this was the first time I had a pizza and thought the crust was too thin lol. The pizzas are cooked in a brick oven and the outer crust is perfectly crispy, light and chewy. The pepperoni is good but I wish they put more cheese. They make it very traditional with spots of mozzarella, but the spots that had no cheese weren't as good...we need cheeese! I can't believe I'm only the 3rd person to review this awesome pizza food truck! They are conveniently located in the parking lot of Lanikai Brewing Company in Kailua, so as you're sipping your beer, you can order a fabulous pizza to go along with it! The food truck has a legit wood-fired pizza oven. I ordered "The Cured" for $14, and it came with tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni and basil. The pizza is approximately 8 slices and I ate the WHOLE pie by myself! Oink oink! The crust was perfect! Not too thin, but thick enough so that the ingredients don't slide off when you pick up a slice. All of the ingredients are super fresh and the pizza comes out hot as they're made to order. In addition to The Cured, they have about 6 other pizza variations to choose from. They make their dough fresh every day and their prices are on par with other gourmet pizza places. They also offer a couple of pupus, salads and sandwiches on their menu. I would highly recommend their pizza and I can't wait to return in the near future! read more

Ive come here several timrs and grt the marguerita pizza. They cook the pizza to o much that the cheese is sort of obliterated and not there much. They dont put enough sauce on it. The pizzas are wonderful! The employees are all very nice. The smell of the keawe oven is intoxicating! It may seem that the prices are a little on the higher side but rest assured it is worth every penny. There is a lot of deliciousness coming from this little red and white food truck. I have eaten here a couple of times and have tried so far: Forager Pizza, Bee's Knees Pizza, Suprema Pizza, and Italian Sandwich. All were so, so good. I love the hot honey on the bee's knees pizza- never had anything like it. The pizza comes hot and ready out of the oven and LOVE the dough. I am also an Italian sandwich lover, so I always get that if it is on the menu. The bread is soft and delicious right out of the oven, it doesn't get better than that. Best Italian sandwich around, and I've had many. They give you a side of chips and a pickle which is made locally. Another thing I love about Valentina's Pizza is that a lot of their menu showcases ingredients sourced locally. I love that the owner chooses to buy local produce from nearby farms. Got 2 regular cheese. Not sure how they could mess up wood fired pizza? Pizza was small with tiny amount of cheese and sauce. Dough was not crispy even a little but plenty chewy/soggy. Very confusing why there are 5 star reviews? Overall easily the worse pizza I have had. Maybe the 5 star reviewers have never had pizza before? Seems the truck cares more about profit instead of making a decent pizza. Long confusing wait time as well. read more

I don't know about this one. Maybe the customer service was off putting which is why I didn't enjoy the pizza? I don't know which is why it's 2 stars instead of 1. We thought the pizza looked amazing on yelp and we were on the search for the best pizza on the island. When we arrived we saw it was a little food truck type situation and the board said to order at the bar. (Mind you we walked up to it looking lost and the two people sitting out front couldn't bother to send us in the right direction, they just let us look around to figure it out). So we take a seat outside the bar and the waitress comes over and starts taking our order. She was pleasant until we mentioned we wanted it to go, her attitude completely changed. She seemed completely uninterested and rude. We ordered 2 pizzas and a garlic bread. Do not DO NOT order the garlic bread. This was literally heaping spoonfuls of garlic on very chewy bread (like the bread was over kneaded ) I'm a garlic fan but good lord that was disgusting. The pizza was so so. I was honestly annoyed by the waitress and bread that the pizza could've been the best but I couldn't focus. I asked the waitress for ranch and peppers and cheese. She brought ranch in a non to go container and one peppers and cheese for two pizzas and quickly ran away. So try it out, maybe it will be the best pizza on the island but I will not be back. read more

I actually like this pizza when it is prepared correctly. That's about 50 percent of the time. Unfortunately this time I took it to go. One pizza was good and the other was burnt and should not have been sent out. Disappointed. It's either too raw or burned and tastes like I'm licking an ashtray. Should have got some beer to wash it down. Will not order to go again. Will only order when sitting in the brewery so I can return food that is not edible. I always order the Rocket. I always pay extra for extra prosciutto. I never get more than a few small slices of prosciutto. Some of the pizza has no prosciutto at all. How much prosciutto is in a normal serving?! How can I get prosciutto on my prosciutto pizza? Next time I'll try 3x prosciutto, then four times. If it's $2.00 per slice of prosciutto, I'll pay $10.00 for five slices if that's what it takes. read more
