Love that we have a Roundtable in Kailua. It is a nice, casual spot for pizza, bear, and some bar food. Service is friendly and quick. I appreciate that the TVs in the bar area are muted, so you can actually have a conversation. We always get the King Arthur pizza and we have never been disappointed which really speaks to their consistency. Toppings abound and the bottom is nice and crispy - a perfect pie all around. The wings are some of the best I've had on the island: meaty and great Buffalo flavor. My partner loves the Garlic Parmesan Twists. Every time, I try to talk him out of getting them but they are just too good to skip over. The only criticism I have is that they no longer give discounts for veterans, only for active duty. It would be really a strong sign from this all-American chain if they didn't exclude our veteran community from military discount which has never happened in all those years we have frequented Round Table. I used to love Round Table Pizza so much as we've eaten at this location for years, but the quality of service and cleanliness of the restaurant has gone way down. It's too bad because the pizza is really good usually, despite the change in crust being thinner nowadays. For the price, I expect the workers to at least smile, seat us and take our order rather than just making us order at the front. We went in last during a time it was so slow, between lunch and dinner, with 4 workers and never got checked on once. No refill offers. The booths were dirty. The bathrooms were dirty. Walls dingy. Every time we order there is some kind of problem. One time their computers were down and instead of just taking cash and ringing up later they refused to serve anyone. It used to be a great spot where locals would meet up. They used to have a great salad bar and small arcade. We don't even order takeout because there is always something. The pizza's good. Really good. We watched them making dough. Pass after pass through the machine then cutting and shaping with that crunchy cornmeal bottom. The mozzarella is mild and bouncy. The tomato sauce bright and fresh, and the vegetables still had their crunch. You want to eat there so you can tuck in while the pizza is piping hot. That first bite is the best! I miss when there used to be a bunch of young people in the kitchen laughing and talking and pumping out GOOD pizza. There's no consistency with the quality of pizza. Some times it's good sometimes it sucks. This was the first time we tried the boneless Parmesan chicken. Round table first timers!!! Always wanted to have a nice, fun dinner with family here at Round Table Kailua, in Enchanted Lake center. Plenty of parking, no reservations. Walked in for our party of 7, and the first thing the guy said was, for parties of 7 or more we automatically add 20% gratuity. I'm like "okay that's fine" doesn't bother me, that's our normal tipping percentage and could've been more if you let me tip on my own without telling me, but that's fine. That's part of the reason why missing a star. Another reason why is cuz gotta walk to the counter to order. Lol normally when you dine in, they come to you take your order. I mean, yes, there was a clear sign on the wall that said, "please order at counter"... oh yah, and we got seated in the extended party room, which was cool because plenty space, but it smelled mildewy and moldy in there, and looked like storage small kine, but thankful and grateful. Was asking my family if they wanted to move inside to a booth, but they said nah. They also have a cool small arcade, fun for everyone, plus a bar!!! But the game area only take cash. I only had card so, so sad, we never get to play games. Nonetheless, family had a great time, fun conversations, fun food. It gets a little busy. Went with a bunch of people and ordered Caesar salad, chicken wings, and several different pizzas. My favorite was the King Arthur Supreme. It has classic red sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage, salami, Portuguese sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, yellow onions and black olives. It's been a while since we have been here. My wife has such fond memories of RTP as a kid so we tried again. The crust was very poor. Like it didn't rise and was just tough and chewy, like cardboard. The toppings were very good but the crust was awful. We decided to scrape the toppings off and put on sandwich bread. Besides the annoying "going home traffic", the delicious fragrance of freshly baked pizza was torturing me in my car! I was delivering a Large pizza to my niece and her family for her birthday.
