Call at approximately 9 AM to schedule a plumber for a leaking hose bib. Dispatcher informed us plumber would arrive between two and five. At 4:15 we received a call that they couldn't make it and wanted to reschedule for the next day. Had they called anytime between the hours of 10 and three we might've had the opportunity to schedule another plumber for an ongoing leak. read more

Being the day before Thanksgiving I was concerned if the work would be completed so I could prepare dinner for my family. After calling several places, Roto-Rooter turned out to be the only company I could find who could do a free estimate and come after 5 pm to accommodate both my neighbors and my work schedule. I spent all day imagining having to have my tile that was recently resurfaced ripped out of the wall to fix the problem of leaking down to my neighbor's unit. Turned out it was the seal on my overflow that needs some minor repairs. Glenn - #1377 was super professional, friendly and patient with all my questions. Since I had a plumber on the premises, I figured I could ask a few more questions and he answered them all and gave suggestions on what I could possibly have fixed or replaced. The staff when I called multiple times were super friendly, gave me a close time estimate so I didn't have to leave work early, and even made me feel better when I got caught up and Glenn beat me to my place (he had already been in my neighbor's unit and checked the damage there and we all worked together to discover the problem is not the pipes as we feared, but a simple fix). I now know who to call in any plumbing emergencies. I am also glad I clicked on the filtered reviews...I know every company is going to have its good and bad reviews, but my experience was great and many others had good experiences as well. My shower valve stopped working one morning. I had to get to work and didn't want to leave my roommate without a shower so I asked her to call a plumber to replace the guts of the valve. She contacted Roto-Rooter who said they could be out within 2 hours. The plumber showed up on time and fixed my shower but the price was a bit higher than I thought it should be. I spoke to a nice woman at their office who explained they charge by the job whether it was to take 30 minutes or 5 hours. So if my valve was really old and stubborn this would be great for me but my fix was basically routine. Turns out, even though I had agreed to the price when I needed the valve fixed, the office credited some of the money back to my credit card. So considering the plumber showed up on time, my shower was fixed properly and in the end the price was fair, I am pleased with this company. read more

Called 24 hours ago. They keep pushing me off even after they told me 24 hours ago that I was first on the list. Told them I have an infant and two small children and being without water would be a problem. They didn't care. They were rude, curt with their response and extremely unsympathetic. They didn't call me until end of day yesterday that they could not make it till that evening. I couldn't find another plumbing service that had any availability that evening so I kept the appointment for the next morning. I was still told I was first on the list for 9-11. I called at 10:30 and was told all technicians were at other sites and could not make the appointment until 12:30. They said that the time slot was from 9-12 and not 9-11. Which is bull shit. No word from them yet. Called two other plumbers and I'm sure they'll have their technician before I hear anything from roto rooter. What a sham. read more

Great customer service. Gave me a 2 hour time window and showed up within it. Assessed the problem and told me how it would be fixed and the cost. The tech was very efficient and made sure to test all lines were working before he left. 6 month warranty on the work done and we are all set. I will certainly use them again. read more

We had a leak in our bathroom shower a week ago we had an appointment scheduled on Monday morning they didn't show up after several calls to the operator to which they said "your the next call" by 9:00 pm still no service they finally called us to reschedule for next Saturday morning the plummer came out looked at our shower and said yes it is the same part and problem but the store that carries it is closed on the weekends to which I found out its only closed on Sundays so he rescheduled it again for Monday between 10:00 am and noon well here we are past noon and still no plumber...but the operator did say we were the next call. read more

Roto-Rooter wanted to charge me $250 more than the going rate to clean out my kitchen sink drain line, typically about 30 minutes. Since I was a previous customer, I assumed they would be the same as previous service calls, but when the tech came and told me this outrageous rate, I was angry, refused his offer and sent him home. read more

I was in need of a plumber and called due to their reputation. The service man showed up on time and I showed him the leaking toilet. I asked if it would be cheaper to replace the toilet and he said no - it would be ONLY $250 to fix it. As I was in a bind and it was a tenant issue, I said go ahead. THE BILL WAS $488 with a $40 coupon! He said he thought he told me that was LABOR ONLY. Actually showed me the form from the main office with the amount noted but only after the bill was presented. I will NEVER recommend them. Watch out for the HIDDEN charges!!!! read more

I got a phone call and was told someone would arrive within the hour and Jose wasn't too far off his time. He was very pleasant and explained everything to me. We had a pressure valve that needed to be replaced and I got the estimate on the valve and labor, and then as he was fixing things, he told me he needed to replace the spring tension valve as well, so that added another $50, which was fine. At least he was nice enough to waive the $80 that they charge to go pick up a nonstock item. He was explaining to me how Cedar Park uses certain types of spring tension valves b/c of what happens when firefighters use the city's water, but I won't go into the details on that. Our main issue was low water pressure and just normal maintenance on the water heater. Jose was able to get our water pressure up and he had me look at the water pressure in the kitchen and bathrooms with him to show me the difference. So far so good. I was happy with his service. Price wasn't cheap so hopefully there won't be any issues. We used them 2 yrs ago for the same water pressure issue and on the old receipt, it turned out that Jose had fixed our problem that time too! He actually read what he had written and it said that if the water pressure went low again, that we may have to replace the pressure valve next time around, so that's what we ended up doing today. My only gripe, like one other reviewer mentioned, is that I wish they did wear some coverings over their shoes when they walk around the house so as not to track dirt everywhere. Luckily, it was a nice, clear day. I wish I could ask them to remove their shoes, but I understand how tedious that would be. That's really my biggest suggestion for now. They came out early the next morning (which was appreciated) and Jason the technicial was very professional and gave me a very good price for the work needed. Even though the job did not go smoothly at first, he stuck with it and adjusted his game plan. The sewer line was unclogged and a good warranty given to me. Roto Rooter came out on a Saturday and fixed my outside faucet quickly. I had set up to have a local Austin plumber come on Saturday but they did not follow through. They did not contact me again and when I tried to call the local plumber's phone messages were full and I could not leave a message. I called around Saturday morning to other local plumbers and could not get a hold of anyone. I was able to call Roto Rooter and had someone answer the phone immediately. Called on a monday evening for a sink that was stopped up beyond my meager capabilities of fixing. They sent someone out within an hour, and he was professional and friendly. The appointment setter was not all that friendly. I felt like I was interrupting her from her free time. She was snappy and talked over me when I tried to answer her questions that is after she finished talking to whomever and decided to talk with me. The dispatcher was a little friendlier but on the snappy side. The technician was friendly and solved our issue being honest and sincere in what he thought was the problem. Called roto-rooter to deal with a plugged drain. I received a 3 hour window from 5-8 PM. Starting at about 7 PM I began receiving calls indicating delays of about 20-30 minutes. Called Roto Rooter for a clogged kitchen sink that needs a snake. No charge for a service call. Was told could come out within 4 hours and will call 30 minutes prior. A tech showed up about an hour & a half later, but with no phone call. After sharing what I had done, he said I needed a powered snake to get around turns in the pipe. Makes sense to me. His quote was $350. Way too steep for me, so I declined service. read more

We are very appreciative of the service we received right before the 4th of July weekend. We had called several plumbers and Roto-Rooter was the only one willing to come solve the problem. They saved us a ton of money by correctly diagnosing the problem the first time and preventing us from replacing a perfectly good pump. All of the guys were great but we really appreciated Richard the Master Plumber who was very thorough and great about keeping us informed each step of the way. Even our kids liked him! I had a friend come over and hook a new gas stove up for me. He did a bubble test and said there was a tiny leak coming from the gas valve. He shut the gas off to the kitchen and recommended I have the valve replaced. I found someone based on a friend's recommendation and talked to him on a Saturday. He agreed to come out the following day (Sunday) and fix the relatively simple problem. He said it might be after noon, but most likely before 11. I waited. And waited. And waited. No call, no show. I looked on Yelp and found another local company with great reviews. I contacted them. No return call. After a week of no stove I called RotoRooter. They scheduled me for the following morning, a Saturday. I was given a call about fifteen minutes before the plumber showed up. He showed up about twenty minutes from the earliest time they could. Bonus points for actually being on time! Lenny looked at the problem, gave me a price up front on what the labor would be, and fixed it within minutes. He was polite, prompt, and even hooked the stove up and checked the burners before he left. I tried really hard to go local on this, but didn't even get call backs.
