    Lunch specials

Lunch stop and they have lunch specials. I chose the Chicken Picatta with garlic rolls and Angel hair pasta. The Entree had tender chicken but the pasta was a little overcooked and swimming in sauce. A little extra lemon made it better.

It was a terrible experience We went here with a large group and they couldn't handle the group. They couldn't get the dishes out in time - some dishes were wrong. Some had the wrong dressings. And you should have told everyone that the tip was included! That was wrong. And I even heard my friend say she was going to leave you a tip on the table! Why didn't you say it was includes? Shame on you'

I was here with a girl friend of mine for lunch on Sunday ( 12/1/24) and we ordered a large pepperoni pizza and an arugula salad . The arugula salad was really good we split it, and there was definitely enough for 2 people. The pepperoni pizza was just ok .. a lot of grease, crust was heavy, reminded me of high school pizza as a kid. ( my opinion) . The service wasn't the greatest waitress was slow, but in her defense there was a large party there for a holiday party just after we arrived. Ambiance was loud - due to the large party there otherwise it would have been quieter.

It was our first time at Divieto ... although my husband thinks we've been there before. (Ummmm,…read moreno, no we haven't.) Anyway, in any case, we enjoyed it thoroughly, and that's why I'm doubling down that we haven't been there before - we would have been back! It was our anniversary and a Saturday, and fortunately we went early enough to avoid the rush. The hostess was lovely and, when I mentioned we usually like to sit at the bar, she said not to worry about our reservation and sit wherever we like. We ended up at a table because the bar was pretty crowded and we wanted a more quiet evening. So, Ben was our server and he was fantastic! He gave me a solid recommendation when I asked for his opinion, he was attentive without being a pest, and he had a great personality. I don't rave about a server, but he was a gem! We had a Caesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs and calamari. My husband said the spaghetti and meatballs were very good and the calamari was one of the best I've had anywhere - totally crunchy yet tender. (Thank you, Ben, for the recommendation!) The meal is served with a crusty bread and oil with balsamic, and I love a crusty bread. We were treated to an anniversary dessert of a brownie with ice cream, and who doesn't like that?! Anyway, it truly was a nice evening. I can understand why the reviews are so positive, and it's always a pleasant surprise when expectations are not only met but exceeded!

Sette Mezzo Ristorante 6370 St. Rd 7 (Regency Lakes Village…read moreCenter) Coconut Creek Despite living less than 2 miles from Sette Mezzo, Wednesday night was my very first visit to the restaurant. They've been around about 9 years, and I've lived in Coconut Creek for 20 years, but somehow--I was barely aware that it existed. After reading a great review by Susan Stone last week, I made a reservation for Wednesday the 26th. When the day arrived, it was stormy with on and off rain showers, but because there is very easy parking in the Center, we found a spot steps from the door. The interior of the restaurant is attractive and there is a very compact bar in the back. I can see myself sitting there in the very near future (happy hours are 4-7 on weekdays). It was not particularly crowded and our server led us to a table on the edge of the main dining room. It was perfect and while I had read a few comments on Yelp that said it was too brightly lit, that was not the case when we were there. We started with the same cocktail that Susan Stone had, the Bello Giorno (vodka and Prosecco with a splash of cranberry, $12). It was light and refreshing and the very definition of an apéritif. I had checked the food menu online and both my husband and I THOUGHT that we knew what we wanted. So, I was more interested in the wine list, since I was certain about what I would order. But when Melinda, our charming server, came over to recite the copious number of specials, it changed everything. In addition to veal, beef and lobster specials, there was a crispy skin branzini, as well as a yellowtail snapper dish. She gave us some time to debate it (and, for me to look for an acceptable white wine since we were no longer ordering pasta). What did not change was the appetizer we had selected in advance. We shared an order of Cervelatta Sausage ($20), something we both love. Sette Mezzo's version was slightly charred and served on a bed on onions and peppers. It was excellent and authentic. I chose yellowtail snapper, and my husband had crispy skin branzini (both $42). The snapper was in a lemon butter sauce and served with spinach and potatoes. The branzini was crispy on one side and perfectly cooked on the other side. It was also accompanied by spinach and potatoes. One of the reasons we have never been to Sette Mezzo is because I rarely want Italian food. Don't get me wrong, I love Casa D'Angelo and Anthony's, and a few others, but as a cuisine, it's not my first choice. I generally want fish when I dine out and had I realized how well this restaurant can prepare fresh fish, we would have been here many years ago. We also shared a bottle of Italian Chardonnay, Scarpetta ($42), which was a perfect match for our fish because it was a refreshing, largely unoaked chardonnay from Friuli. We rarely order a full bottle at restaurants these days because there is often unspoken pressure to eat, pay and get out. I felt like unless it was a busy Saturday night, we'd never get the bum's rush at this establishment. We spent about 2 hours in the restaurant and our bill before tax and tip was $181. We paid cash, but I saw no notices about mandatory credit card fees or gratuities. Let me just stop right here and assure you that you do not need to spend $200 to dine at Sette Mezzo. I did not snap a photo of the restaurant's menu because it's readily available online and the prices are accurate. Many pastas are $20-$26 and the veal and chicken dishes are mostly about $25. I took photos of the wine list and both the cocktails and wine are priced fairly. I was originally torn between 2 Super Tuscans, but because we chose seafood, I was delighted to find the chardonnay. Without question people can dine well for far less than what we spent. It is my opinion that this is so much more than a neighborhood spot. Although, I am delighted it's in my neighborhood, the quality of the dishes, as well as their expertise with fresh fish, elevates the experience and makes it worth a bit of a drive. NOTE-this review is also posted in LESFL FB group.

I remember looking up local places that had freshly made Italian way way back and this was one of the spots. What a joy to have homemade authentic Italian pasta nearby! Tonight we came in during the Labor Day holiday weekend on Sunday night with our toddler. Judging by the reviews I was on the fence about this being a date night or trying to bring the kiddo but I was feeling adventurous. We lucked out- no reservation; walked in with a toddler and it they sat us in one of the back rooms with a big party table- perfect. Bring on the large group who will be living it up family style and louder than us. A beautiful interior, with winding rooms to section off different areas. The front area more well lit, a mid section with the bar and the back room for a large party. Every space separated with rows of wine which they are very well versed in. That must be why they aren't just called 'Pasta...' The actually ended up being super toddler friendly but I wouldn't recommend to any ol' kids. It's intimate and very date night style restaurant- but they were more than accommodating. Our daughter got a high chair, a gold chalice for water and even a plate of homemade pasta with butter. The staff was very friendly to her and everyone said 'ciao bella' which she loved. On to the adults, my husband and I got cocktails- both of them were outstanding- my husband got an old fashioned and I got a gin drink with rosemary infused gin with a bubble on top. It was beautiful. They were so delicious. My dish was the Pappardelle al Sugo di Cinghiale. Pasta with wild boar sauce, outstanding- perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Meat just fell apart. Finding ACTUALLY good pizza in South Florida has been hard. Especially when my husband (from…read moreBrooklyn) can never really find a place that sticks out to him.... Until today. Wow. I'm writing this on my way back home and honestly, just recalling the meal keeps giving me the warm and fuzzies. I originally went to Bella Roma because they had Khachapuri on the menu which is pretty rare. The only other place I've had it that is actually good is KavKaz, this one was better! First of all because of their ingredients and their crust. It's perfectly crisp but also airy, combined with the cheese and the egg, wow. It's honestly addicting and I wish I would have gotten another one. BUT THEN THIS HAPPENED! My husband loved the crust on this that he said, the pizza had to be good. Oh and he was right. That crust, ZERO FLOP which is rare when you pair it with stracciatella! It held up. We ate an entire pie of the spicy pep and honestly... I was tempted to order another khachapuri. This only happens when you go to places that use good ingredients. Kind of like what happens when you eat pasta and pizza in Italy. It's HIGH QUALITY. My husband said it reminded him of L'industrie Pizzeria. Which is a HUGE honor. Especially from him. He's usually super critical. My only wish would have been some hot honey with my pizza but tbh, that would have been gluttony. The place was TOOO good. We also tried their sandwiches because their bread is baked in house EVERY DAY. How they managed to make chicken parm sandwich feel light is pure magic. Wow. I heard this place has been open for a while but they have new management and WOW. Idk how it used to be but THIS IS AMAZING. The chef knows what he's doing. I'll be making the drive from Miami to this place AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Its important to note that this restaurant is getting a menu overhaul and the new menus should be available soon which have way more tasty looking options than the old! We ended up ordering the classic egg gondola pizza (apologies as in my attached photo I had already mixed up the egg before I took my picture, but it was super cute!), the bruschetta, the stuffed shells and two garlic rolls. I have to start with the egg gondola pizza because it was absolutely everything I wanted it to be! A beautiful blend of mozz and feta, the creamy yolk of the egg and the petfectly crisp pizza gondola made for the absolute tastiest combination! They also have other flavor combonations for this egg gondola that I cannot wait to try! We also got the bruschetta which was just good. I do wish there were a bit more tomatoes, but the bread was soft yet toasty and the flavor was fresh. The stuffed shells were so good I wish the dish came with more! You get 4, which is a perfect amount if you also get an app. They are definitely STUFFED, they dont skimp on the cheese! The sauce wasn't too sweet, and the melty cheese on top really made this dish shine. It did come with soup or salad, but we declined. And because of that it looks like they gave us the two garlic rolls we ordered for free, which I really appreciate! The garlic rolls were a classic. Buttery, garlicky, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside and a sprinkle of parm cheese. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect roll. Overall, I cant wait to come back to try the new menu items. The price we paid for this meal was more than reasonable. Everything was only $55.59 with tax. Flavors were spot on, service was fantastic, cute ambiance inside, and food came out insanely fast! I'll definitely see you soon Bella Roma!
