She always checks up on you if the nails she did was good enough on your desired length, shape and thickness. I'm a kind of person that doesn't talk much but a very sensitive one but I usually check what finger nails to fix more. I observed that she's focused on her job by working the customers nails. Got a pedicure and acrylics with gel manicure. The place is big and nice in a good location. Free WiFi. Lots of options for regular and gel polish. The tools are autoclaved which is super important for me. This is the first place I've been that didn't start the manicure as the pedicure is going on which didn't bother me but just know you're gonna spend some time here. Lucy did my pedicure and she took her time and had great attention to detail. I forgot the name of the man who did my manicure but he did a great job as well. My sisters and I visited Rosy Nails on a Wednesday evening and all the chairs were filled with happy and relaxed looking customers chatting and getting pampered by the girls. We were greeted warmly when we entered, offered a huge selection of nail colours to choose from and attended to promptly. We each had different girls do our shellac mani/pedis and can agree they were all extremely gentle and careful in their work. They were very friendly, professional and nice to chat with. The price points were also very affordable for the quality of the services compared to similar shops around the area. The owner, Nancy, was amazing with colour recommendations. I came in not 100% knowing what I want and left so satisfied with the service and colour she chose for me. Aside from extraordinary customer service and results, the salon was also very clean! All tools came from sealed and sanitized autoclave bags, counter tops were lined with disposable fabrics and the floors/table tops/chairs were impeccably clean. I came in on a Friday as a walk in, however, they were fully booked. They offered a different time slot, but did not work for me. I told them i'll just book online or call to schedule, which I dont mind as i respect their availability and im coming without an appointment. Come monday morning, I called to schedule an appointment for 630pm, luckily, they have an opening. I got to my appointment 10 mins early, and i opted for the pedicure with the scrub and mask hoping that i would be able to relax and somewhat treat my feet. Unfortunately, it was far from relaxing. As I sat on the chair, the footspa started okay, but after a few minutes, I felt like the guy was rushing, he would scrub right foot a decent amount of time, but when it's time to scrub the left foot, it barely took him a minute. While he was doing it, he keeps looking at his co-worker, not really paying attention to the service that was supposed to be getting done and it seemed like he was just "scrubbing" just to show that the service I requested was being done. Then he did my nails, did not even cut or bothered asking if i'd like to get my toeails cut (it was not the longest but still have excess nails to cut). The nail polish application was mediocre and I honestly dont think that he used the color that I picked, didnt even bother pointing it out anymore as Im just already disappointed with the service i am getting. I also got manicured, the lady who did my nails (hand), was friendly and she would check in with me if the cut and shape she did with my nails are okay. I think she did good with my nails, it looks neat and nice. It just sucks that the pedicure experience ruined it for me. I don't think i'll be coming back. read more

I got a shellac mani and pedi done but I noticed over the years their quality and services began to deplete for me...the 2nd time I came there, It was really packed, I noticed that they tend to over book clients and their services end up being rushed and not done properly. My mom's shellac began to peel off after a week and my mom didn't bother going back since she went on vacation. The 3rd visit I requested nails extensions..mind you I never got fake nails done in my life... I requested to get gel and if they could explain to me what that was...but I don't think the person understood what I was saying so I just went along with what he was doing after he was applying the gel in my nails and drying them up my nails felt like it was burning like crazy! After delaying doing my nails for so long, I finally wanted to try a new store and honestly rosy nails actually surprised me with a very good experience CLEANLINESS: The place very much had a classy and clean look to it, as well as a very simple and non cluttered look, which I really enjoyed :) The variant of colours in the store all seemed to match very well and it just created a calming mood, much like you're getting pampered on vacation. I noticed that a lot of the equipment they used were disposable, and also were cleaned and sterilized before working on a customer. Thank goodness because cleanliness is super important to me as I'm a bit of a germaphobe Customer service and Affordability: One thing that's SUPER important to me is customer service and rosy nails actually provided the attention and patience that a lot of other nail salons lacked. As soon as I came in, a male receptionist greeted me and was super friendly and welcoming. It was pretty busy so thankfully I booked an appointment because I think that's the best way to do it with any busy nail salon. I was a bit surprised by the pricing as it was cheaper than other nail salons I've been too. I usually pay $70-75 for a mani pedi shellac elsewhere but here, it was only $65 :) I mean, the cheaper the better for me because most of us are on a budget :P This place is pretty much AFFORDABLE :D I also went in the next day because I clumsily chipped my shellac nails by lifting bricks for my aunts house renovations, and they fixed it without charging me! Thankfully it wasn't crowded at the time because I got it fixed pretty much right away, otherwise I'd have to wait. The girl who worked on me was so kind and sweet. She made sure that I felt comfortable in my seat and asked to make sure I would get everything I wanted before working on me. When shaping my nails, she even asked me for approval before proceeding to the next steps. The workers here actually try to engage in conversations, despite some of their language barriers -- and that speaks a lot to me. It's so important to create a good rapport with your customers and at least from what I observed, they did just that. They were very patient with me and did not rush on anything, which I liked a lot. As well, they were very attentive and did not get distracted by talking to their fellow coworkers (which is okay but not when you're completely distracted from the customers). So thank you to the girl who worked on me :) I believe newer salons like this one beats a lot of the others because they know what NOT to do and how to satisfy their customers. With older salons, it's harder to fix old habits and compromise their performance so that it aligns with the demands of today. I'm writing this with extreme ambivalence. Content warning: longwinded hygiene analysis. Nothing too bad, but just not great to think about. My asks were easy (manicure without polish, brow wax and shin wax) and the quality of service was just lacking. It was Tuesday noon. I had been to similar affordable salons that had greater attention to detail. To be fair, I did get a lot waxed for the amount I paid, assuming the brow was $10, manicure was $20 and half-legs were $28, give or take a couple dollars on how that came out. I tipped 10% and they charge tax if you pay with card. Tax and 10% tip included it came to $59 :/ (Without, it would have been $48) My hands were dipped in warm water for half a minute, then the manicurist halfheartedly gave each nail a 45 degree swipe with a file twice on the edge of each underside. I like to keep my nails very short so half way through I had to ask her to clip them but right now there's still uneven edges sticking out. Then she buffed the surface after with a tiny buffing block, but I didn't see that come out of a sterile package. She squirted lanolin oil on one or two fingers and rubbed it over my cuticles, then trimmed the dead skin off. I thought there would be more nail shaping as I had previously (ignorantly) cut my nails such that they grew out slightly sideways (and ugly). My manicure ended with a 2 minute perfunctory hand and forearm massage in which the manicurist and I avoided eye contact. I would have been fine without it. The cuticle trimmer, scraper and nail clipper all came from a sterile package and there was an autoclave in sight at the back of the room. Plastic liners were used over the foot basins which was decent. In terms of cleanliness, you're getting what you pay for with cheaper waxing. I started brow grooming in my late teens when I was broke so I have survived double-dipping on brow waxes, and have been fine in the 10-20 times I've had mine waxed at a shop like this-but your mileage may vary. I would pick a pricier place if I were to groom my nether regions. What made me less sure about hygiene was the waxing roller they used. It's kept in a heating unit, and they roll it directly on anyone who wants a leg, armpit, chest or back wax. They don't clean it, and they don't clean your skin pre-wax. Well, I'm pretty sure staphylococcus aureus is ALL over your skin, as well as yeast and you're as at much risk of getting an infection from a mosquito bite or getting sand in your eye. It's been 8 hours; I'm still ok. I think the annoying part was the sticky residue that remained on my skin, and the beautician used their bare hands to rub lotion on your post-waxed skin after. I cleaned that off with witch hazel after I got home. My manicurist instructed me to lie down on rolled out wax paper and i started off on the wrong side of the bench where feet were supposed to go. I didn't know there was a pillow on the other side til the beautician came in. The warm roll-on wax was bubblegum pink. Skill wise the waxer was fine, I just feel iffy about the whole waxing-with-bare-hands thing. It might just be that I'm thirty now and I've lived to tell (haha). I have had worse. I really hate to rate a local business poorly but it is a high competition area with numerous other salons. Speed or waiting was absolutely no issue, and I felt bad that every 5 minutes a wealthy white woman would walk in and expect an immediate appointment. I reserved my appointment at night using the email form on their website. I selected a time last night and got an email back confirming the appointment this morning. I have to admit I was a bad customer for arriving 30 min after my scheduled time, but I do feel the staff were a little too apathetic. read more

But coming here was a really good experience for both of us. The place seems clean enough and the staff are friendly. I went in for a bio gel manicure and shellac pedicure. I also want to preface that I'm new to this nail stuff so I didn't feel comfortable speaking up when something went wrong. For my manicure, I did not get bio gel, she put brisa gel on my nails, which is more expensive and will be much harder to remove when I'm ready. Also, I had one nail that was filed crookedly, so when the tech "fixed" it, she just made it crooked in the other direction. The gel itself felt like it was burning when it was curing which apparently means she made it too thick. My cuticles are torn and scabby, and my nails are not even filed cleanly-- two of my fingernails are jagged and I'm sure are going to get caught on something soon. If it were just the manicure I would give 1 star. The pedicure however was pretty good. I have callouses on the underside of my big toe that they were going to just leave and not smooth at all. They said "this tool won't remove the callous, only the dead skin on top". But why not remove the dead skin? In any case, I spoke up about that one and my feet are pretty smooth. Everything else was fine. The people are nice, but make sure you watch them and speak up so you get what you want. read more
