This used to be a good nail salon, but not anymore!…read more After much thought, I have decided to post my experience with this nail salon to make other people aware and to think twice before going here. The owner has becme very rude and cocky over the past few months, is getting worse, and likes to gossip and insult the customers. I have always appreciated their services and always supported them, but after the last few times I have come in here and seen how nasty and greedy the owner and his wife have become, I have had enought. It is time to switch salons! I was a loyal customer to this nail salon since they opened (for almost 10 years), referred many people here, and they don't care. They pretend to be your friend to get information about you, then talk badly behind your back to the other customers, staff, and people that live in the area. It's sick! Then they act like they never said anythng. They can talk gargabe behind your back, but are too much of a coward to say it to your face. All they care about is getting your money! Did I mention that the wife of the owner of this salon has the nerve to tell other customers that her husband hates me while they are in the chair getting their nails done during the same time I am at the salon?! I couldn't believe it as I never have done anything to them! All I did was support them, and I am still in shock as why they have treated me like this. There is something wrong with this couple that owns this salon, and I would advise to stay away from them. I would check out other salons in the area, and just avoid this place all together. The only person that has remained consistant and professional over the years is the one stylist Calvin. In terms of the rest of the staff, I dont know what their problem or issue is, and I don't want to know. They can insult someone else. I would recommend to go elsewhere. They are better places to go that provide better quality, better customer service, where the salon is cleaner and newly renovated, there are places that have better pricing (I know as I have done my research the last few months before switching), other places have a better colour and style selection, other salons will do a design or ombre without making a big deal or refusing a simple request (not reject your request and get their other clients to post cheesy sticker designs placed on their nail and edit their google review afterward lol), other places appreciate their clientale, and there are other salons that do not insult you in Vietnamese behind your back while you are getting your nails done, gossip about you to their staff/clients in the salon, or people in the area to try and ruin your reputation. This place is rated a 4.7 on Google, but I disagree, after recieving this abusive treatment consistantly for the last six months, I would rate this nail salon as a 4.1, if that! I like that they have dividers between tables and chairs - which is great to protect clients from high covid/flu/RSV rates in the community right now. I'm a kind of person that doesn't talk much but a very sensitive one but I usually check what finger nails to fix more. I observed that she's focused on her job by working the customers nails. While I would have liked a hand massage included, they got the job done efficiently and beautifully! I've never had my cuticles removed so gently AND quickly before, plus my manicure was completed in under 35minutes. The lady who did my nails was really attentive to the design I wanted, kept checking the reference photo I provided, and helped me select the right colour. For the cheap price and quality of the work, I'm really happy with the results. I'll definitely come back for future manicures.

Luckily, they accomodated me, at first by saying they could do a pedi then, if time permitted, a mani. The most surprising thing I noticed is that all the technicians working at the time were male, which was a great sight! The guy who did my pedi was great, as was the massage chair. Then, soon into the drying process, a lady approached me to tell me that she could do my manicure. So I walked over and (here's where it gets dicey) the guy handed her the fan that was being used to dry my toes, said something in a language I didn't understand and that was the last of the fan. The girl working on my nails was great as well... until 30-40mins later, when my mani was done and she said I could go. I touched my toenails, which had been air drying for the duration of the mani, and found them to be a little "gummy" in texture. I expressed this concern, as it felt I was leaving my fingerprints in my pedi. She then ran her own finger over it, said she would put something on it and I would be fine. So, she put a thin clear liquid over it and said I would be okay to put my socks/shoes back on immediately. As the professional, I trusted that she knew what she was talking about. Cut to HOURS later when I get home, take off my socks... and most of my pedicure with it. My socks stuck to my half wet pedi. Now this place is not super convenient for me to get to - a half hour train ride. So after calling to complain, and getting excuses before an apology, I was asked if I could make it within 5 minutes. I let her know I had just gotten home after a long day and I would try to be there within 2 hours. Now when I got there, it seemed the responsibility was placed back on the original guy who did it when it wasn't his fault at all. He was great, and I apologized and tried to explain to him. He told me that's why he gave her the fan, and I let him know the fan didn't even make it to the table. I'm glad the situation is rectified, despite inconvenience on both my part and the part of the pedicurist. Two star review if not for him.

I've only gotten my nails done twice before at different places but it was just a regular manicure with polish. This time, I decided to try out extensions since my nails were on the short side and got the Pink and White. The receptionist is friendly, however, not the best at explaining the differences between the different types of artificial nails like bio gel, UV gel, acrylic etc. As a first timer, I really had no idea what to get and just opted for the Pink and White, which is at a mid price point ($45 pre tax). My nail tech was fast and friendly. You can tell that all of these manicurists were good at their job, however, most of them don't seem to talk much. It's eerily quiet when the music is on pause but maybe they're just focusing on their work. Also, because it was my first time getting fake nails, I had no idea that they would hurt..Not sure if this is normal, but the long nails also make it hard to do certain things like writing and taking out contacts lol. All in all, I would come again but maybe skip the nail extensions. They look good but dont work practically.
