1. They didn't do mani pedi at the same time even if they had staff available so took forever (no one came in after either with appointments either) 2. They shaped my nails so badly that they cracked. It created a weak spot in my natural nail (which takes me 3 months to grow out). See picture of what it's supposed to look like vs how mine was done. I asked for a slight coffin/square shape but instead I got a broken nail. 3. They don't soak your hands in water to get cuticles and nails soft. 4. The pedicure I got was good overall but I feel like they didn't properly cut my nails like they normally do at other salons so I don't recommend it. 5. From my experience at multiple other nail salons, they have a towel on the foot rest when getting a pedicure but this place had Scott towels so it just didn't really help with the overall experience. 6. Friendly staff. Only reason I gave it a second star. Overall, my nails look good from far away but they are not worth getting broken nails over. Will not go back and I would not suggest this place for people who like to do shellac, gel or nail polish over their natural nails. read more

Went there once and it was my last time. I understand inflation is causing prices to drive up but for the quality I got I wish I just stayed home. Youd think downtown salons are better, I went Friday for a refill that practically already cost me more than a full set... and on top of that I keep watching the nails that got *fixed* literally PEEL off one by one... one broke not even 24h later the other one broke the day after.... worst quality work of nails, definitely not worth their asking price. Went back to Pinky Nails. I was so excited to be back in Toronto and to get a proper mani-pedi (Sorry Ottawa but your salons are for the birds) But I was a bit disappointed this time around. I think I got a new girl but I could be wrong and it's no excuse. I had to wait a whle to be helped despite an appointment. The pedi was so hurried I was in after the ladies next to me and done well before them. The shellac mani was ok (better than my Ottawa folks) but my technician wasn't as friendly and helpful as my last visit And I didn't get much of a shoulder rub which I think is one of the nicer touches that Pinky has to offer. I tried Pinkys based on Yelpers and their reviews. One word: awesome. The salon is small, cozy, well-maintained, CLEAN. You are greeted by friendly staff upon arrival. Pratiksha was my nail technician. She is friendly, soft-spoken and very good at her craft. I went in for a pre-vacation pedi. Pratiksha was very careful with the cuticles, expertly shaping my nails just the way I like them. No tears, no snags, no pain, no bleeding (that should NOT happen at a nail salon). I was referred here by a friend so of course I had to check it out. Been here already 2 times. First time I tried their shellac manicure and second time I decided to try something new for myself which was the gel manicure. I've always had shellac done but heard good things about gel too especially better durability. So, why not give it a shot? Both visits turned out well especially the second one! My first time going there, it wasn't too busy (maybe 3-4 customers) and I went with a friend. The ladies who helped us were awesome! They were sweet and sociable. Their work was fast, clean and accurate. As fast as they were, they were also detail-oriented and made sure things were done to our liking. Whether it was checking to see if we liked the way they shaped our nails, if anything hurt us while they were doing their job or if we liked the colour we chose. What was also nice is that they gave us a quick shoulder massage as a short intermission before putting on the colour! I definitely needed one :P (as usual lol) The only thing that kind of bothered me was that the bottle of colour I chose was low and the polish was getting clumpy. If you saw that it was getting clumpy, wouldn't you think of replacing it with a new bottle instead of giving that to the customers to put on? I ended up having to do 4-5 layers since there were streaks on the first few layers too...HOWEVER, the final result wasn't too bad and my nails didn't feel like bricks with the extra layers so it turned out ok. Now, seeing a few of the reviews here about the gel nails, I was a little hesitant but went a second time anyway. I got nothing to lose and if it didn't turn out well, I could always grow out my nails or tell them to take it off right away. This time, Cara helped me and I had an AWESOME experience with her! Went through the same process as my first visit, took a little longer than expected but it was ok. It was also a bit busier with most pedi chairs taken and a couple mani tables being used. Cara was fast but very careful. If she didn't like something, she would show and tell me and if I agreed then she would take it off or re-do it. She did a fantastic job and made my nails look SO pretty! The final result was perfect and I was SUPER happy with it! Overall, since I came here twice to try different things with decent to good experiences, I will definitely return again to try out other colours and nail designs. All in gel though because I am officially in LOVE with them! Yay! I think I found a new go-to place for mani-pedis! I went to Pinky Nails on the recommendation of a friend. The hours are decent (open til 8pm on weekdays) and the location, just a couple blocks from the Eaton Centre/Queen TTC is uber-convenient. They take walk-ins or appointments. I stopped by on my lunch hour for a manicure. I would suggest getting there a little before 12pm, because a lot of people come over the lunch hour, so it gets a little busy. Luckily, I was able to get a mani without any wait. In and out in ~45 minutes (NB: darker colours take longer to dry). The salon is bright and simply decorated. You'll be greeted with a smile and they will take your coat and ask you to take off your shoes at the door and put on terry cloth slippers. The staff here are mostly Korean. Yuri did my nails and she was lovely. We chatted about how much we love Korean saunas (jimjilbangs) and loathe the TTC. They have a great selection of nail polishes by OPI, Essie, and some other brand I wasn't familiar with. They also have Shellac by OPI and CND. What I loved was how well-organized their nail polishes were, making it easy to pick within a colour family (nudes, pinks, purples, blues... oh my!). Some salons let their polishes get all mixed up and cluttered. Anyways, she took great care in shaping my nails and with the cuticle care and polish application. The tools they use are all sterilized and clean. While you wait for your nails to dry, you get a relaxing neck/shoulder massage! It's a really nice, unexpected bonus. Meanwhile, you can keep entertained with CP24 on TV or the usual fashion and celeb gossip magazines. Prices are reasonable and on par with similar salons in the city (okay, there are cheaper ones in Chinatown, but for this area, the prices are good): $19 for a regular manicure, $10 polish change. If you get a loyalty card, for every 8 visits you will get a free eyebrow wax or paraffin treatment. Overall, this place is not so different from other cheap nail salons, but the cheerful atmosphere and attention to detail are what make it stand out. read more

Location: On Church St, it is walking distance from the Eaton's Centre. Quality and Price: Regular mani only is $18 (plus tax and tip round it to $25). Pedi only is $3x (didn't do pedi only). Mani-pedi is $45 (plus tip and tax you're looking at $55). For the price, I am very pleased with the quality of my nails on both hands and feet. The technicians know what they're doing and you get your arms/feet/back massaged during the process. My regular finger nails lasted 2.5 weeks when I'm careful, and about a week when I'm roughing it in the woods up north. Pedicure lasted 3 weeks (including the trip into the wilderness - camping, sneakers, flip flops, lake water). After your nails are done, you sit under the UV for a minimum of 10 minutes while the coats harden. Service: Great service. CP24 is available to watch if you're not a talker (the girls know their cue. If you want to talk, they will, if not, relax). I went in for a mani appoitnment and despite their busy schedule, they were able to accommodate a pedicure. Mani's last 30 minutes, pedi about 45. If you're doing both, allot 2 hours time at least. I don't remember who did my nails the first time, but I had Amanda the second time and she was fabulous (better than the other IMO). Her massages of the arms were on pointe, shoulder massage was great, but lower back could use a little work (or skipp it entirely and just do shoulders). Meticulous work and hygienic (they open a new/clean/unused tool pack for every client). Overall: Great experiences, would return again. The only con is that they are always very busy. They need to hire more staff or expand. Some stations were empty but people were waiting because staff to patron ratio was unbalanced. LATER EDIT: Returned with a friend and had a lovely girl named Marika working on me. Absolutely adored her. Perfect service, kind and thorough. She double checked each nail's reflection to ensure a smooth polish. If I return again, I would definitely seek her out. read more

Very, Very average service. Although the lady i spoke with on the phone to make my appointment with was very sweet, it seems as though they rushed me through my appointment. I came here expecting to get a great set of bio gel nails based on the yelp reviews.. That didn't quite happen. The woman doing my nails didn't trim my cuticles, or give me any kind of manicure procedures. The fact that they use manual files means its super slow, you take the chance of having a lady shred your skin off when she gets close to the edge of your nails ( as i did) and the gel is left thick, chunky and quite frankly, looking cheap. If i'm paying 80 dollars to get a pair of nails i am expecting great service and a beautiful end result... This place isn't worth the money. read more

I'm so happy I found Pinky's by chance! The only reason I looked into this place is that it was conveniently close to where some family was temporarily staying. After looking at reviews, it seemed like it was worth a try and I am happy I did! They have a great colour selection including two types of shellac (regular and OPI), lots of Essie, China Glaze, and of course OPI. It is very well organized by brand (which I always appreciate) and they have "sample nails" of all of their shellac colours (also so helpful!). Pinky is a very clean and well organized nail salon. I love that the manicurists wear nametags, and also uniforms. I just feel like it's a more professional environment! I went for shellac removal and re-application and was very happy with the entire experience. My manicurist (Amanda) didn't hesitate to continue soaking my nails instead of forcefully scraping off the old shellac, which I have had happen at other salons. She also explained to me how the regular shellac, while not lasting as long as the OPI version, was better for my nails which I appreciated. My only weird comment about this place is - YOU GET A MASSAGE WITH NO WARNING!! After wrapping my nails in tinfoil for the shellac removal, out of no where Amanda stood up and started massaging my shoulders. While I am all for a complimentary massage, I generally like to be warned before a stranger starts rubbing me. Alas. It was actually an awesome back rub. I've been to this place several times before today's experience and was generally pleased. Today however was NOT good. My lady was rude and lazy. I booked for the mani/pedi combo and she tells me the colours I chose means it will be more expensive, after I have my feet soaked and worked on. My manicure was done unevenly. Then she throws my shoes next to me making a loud sound. I don't ever tip under 10% but I couldn't justify doing more. Review is based on two visits to Pinky. Both times I came with a friend and we did walk-ins without appointments. Most recently I came yesterday (a Monday) and didn't have to wait at all, but the time before that they were busier and we had to wait about half an hour. They have a good selection of regular polishes (which are very well organized) as well as shellac and OPI gel. However, sometimes they are running low on some colours (i.e. last time I was asked to select a different colour because the nail tech didn't think there would be enough to cover all my nails...?) and also the colours on their shellac wheel are kind of faded and not accurate - was surprised when they brought out some of the bottles and the colours were not even close to what I thought I picked! But luckily they were accommodating and let me change my mind a few times. Both times I came, I got a shellac mani and got a regular pedi as well once. For what I can see, the service is kind of hit or miss. Some of the people there are super friendly, but some of them are definitely more reserved and/or have some attitude. The first time I got a male technician who seemed nice enough, but I think didn't speak much English and was a bit klutzy. The second time I got a girl who seemed very proficient at her job, but gave me some attitude when I asked if she could file my nails shorter after she had finished doing one hand - if she had asked me before she went ahead and did all my nails, I would have put in the request sooner! That being said, there are definitely a few things I do like especially about Pinky. The services are very thorough, as in, for the pedicure they take the time to scrub and massage your legs, which not all other places do, and which I really really liked. Same with the manicure, I like that they moisturize your arms and hands and massage in the lotion. You also get a back massage, which is pretty cool if you're into that stuff - I do wish they would ask you before they just go ahead and start touching you though. In terms of the actual mani/pedi, the quality is pretty good, and I didn't have issues with my shellac chipping or anything the first time. It is a bit pricey and unlike some other places they charge tax on top. I don't see this becoming my go-to place, but it's a decent nail salon in downtown Toronto. read more

I have been to many different spa's for pedicures all over Toronto. It's rare that I return to the same spa more than once because it's hard to find a great pedicure without paying $80 at a high-end spa. Not only is Pinky Nails a good price but they do a great job. The staff is friendly and will always greet you when you walk in the door. If you're a repeat costumer they tend to remember you and will greet you by name. After getting a pedicure they walk you over to get your polished dried and give you a shoulder massage which is the cherry on top! If anyone asks I always tell them about this hidden gem! read more

A friend of mine recommended Pinky to me and I'm so glad I checked it out. It is one of the more hygienic and organized salons for this price point (approx $45 for a mani and pedi). The best part is they also do an awesome job! On every occasion my nail polish (just regular polish) has far outlasted what I normally expect nail polish to last. The only (kind of) downside I encountered at Pinky was that it took a really long time. Personally I prefer time is to ensure good quality but if you're looking for a quick mani and pedi on your lunch break you may find yourself running out of time. Recommended. read more

I really needed to fit in a last minute manicure during the work day so I utilized Yelp - which has not let me down yet - to find a place close to the DT core with A+ reviews. Pinky Nails & Spa appeared to be the best choice. Someone up there is punishing me for taking an extended lunch break, holy crow. I'm giving them two stars because the facility and utensils were CLEAN, which is oh so important. Aside from that, as I look at my nails while I type, I am concluding that today's manicure was very possibly the worst I have ever experienced. My nails are crooked, I've got cuticles all over the place (ew), and the polish is just a mess. A big beige mess. I can't wait to get home and take it off. The polish. Take the polish off. Worst experience that my girlfriend has gone through ever. My girlfriend went there to get her manicure and pedicure but came back with scratch finger nails and the nail polish didn't last long, not even a week. She called them and they are super unhelpful and commented they can't do anything about it. Worst customer service that I have ever seen. You should name your business as Pick Nails not Pinky Nails. I have been visiting this salon for years, but the quality has gone down recently. I had the worst manicure today. The gentleman that was providing the service made my nails pointy when I asked for them to be oval, I ended up filing them myself while he watched. The water to soak my hand was ice cold. And the nail polish was applied so thick, after waiting two hours to do some chores around the house, so I could ensure my nails were dry, 4 of them smudged right away. I have loved visiting Jamie and her team there for years, but in the last year or so, I haven't had one good service there. Today was the last one I'll be getting from this place. I've been there late and they spray everything down and scrub that place from top to bottom. $33.00 plus tax and tip for a shellac mani. It really saddens me to write a bad review of this place because it used to be my go to spot. I've been coming to this place for many years, and I have brought several friends and family members with me. But I'll probably never come back. I usually come here and get a Brazilian wax and a pedicure. Both services cost more than other places in the area but the great customer service makes up for the extra cost. Or it used to anyways. On February 5th I decided to get a set of bio gel nails. I've have had them before but it had been a few years. On that day I scheduled an appointment with my usual girl, Amanda. She does an amazing job with waxing and pedicures. But not so much with nails. After my nails were done two of them fell off a few days later. I went back of course and they replaced them for $6 each nail. Less then a week after that the same nail that was replaced and another one fell off. My boyfriend wanted a pedicure, so we both got pedicures and I got my nails fixed AGAIN. JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER, two more nails fell off and several of them began to lift at the sides. I decided to get them all filled and reshaped by a different young lady. Who did an excellent job(can't remember her name but she's new). My nails continued to fall off and at this point I was fed up. I came in today asking to get the nails replaced. The young man at the front desk told me it was $7 to replace them (it was $6 a week ago) and I decided at that point it made no sense to spend any more money letting these people fix my nails. I've had only a few manicures around the city since then but have done some online research for prices - but this means I don't have much to compare too :) First time I just got a polish change which included taking off my previous shellac colour. They did a quick buff and shape and applied a new shellac polish. I got CND's Gotcha with CND's Tinsel Toast for accent. I loved it! And I got the back/hand massage everyone talked about in previous comments. All for 28$ (tip additional). Loved it! Second visit I got the full shellac mani which ended up at 39 after tax. This included removing my old shellac again with buff, shaping, soak, cuticle work and the back and hand massage. I brought 3 friends along and they loved it too. I find it always easy to make appointments (even for a group of 4 on a Saturday at 12pm). This is my go to place right now. Right downtown, all the techs are really nice, prices are all on the wall and a good deal and I think they have a good range of colours in shellac (also lots of OPI/OPI gel, Biogel and Essie colours). read more

The prices here do not reflect the service. It costs more money for services here than any other nail place in the the downtown. Normally you'll pay about $20 for shellac polish change. I paid $28 here plus tip. So ten bucks more for he same service u can get next door. I actually didn't realize until they gave me my total. Won't come back because of the price. Visited pinky's based on previous reviews and got a shellac manicure. Although the staff was very polite and friendly, the results of the manicure were very disappointing. It began to chip within a few days which has never happened when I had got shellac in the past. Previous experiences at other salons have lasted up to two weeks in relatively perfect condition. I moved into the area in November and I needed a new steady nail salon - I am so glad I found these guys!! Ayoumi (sp?) is a gem, so sweet and genuine and she is incredibly detail-oriented I usually get shellac manicures). All the staff I have met there, however, are great and experts at what they do. They are professional, friendly and skilled. I was quite impressed from the very beginning, despite having no expectations - how many times have I tried a nail salon and decided to not return again? I booked an appointment here for a shellac mani and regular pedi and it came to $77+tip. This price would have been reasonable if I received the same good service as I do at other nail salons I go to. When I was brought to the foot bath for my pedicure, the water was already in the tub waiting for me and it was cold. I waited at least 20 minutes for someone to come and work on my feet (she was working on another customers nails) and by this time the water was very cold. The polish was done nicely, but when I moved to the table for the manicure, no fan was placed over my toes to dry them (not sure if this is normal practice, but other nail salons I go to do this). While completing my manicure, she sliced my finger (beside my nail) with the nail file and it has been very sore since (a week now). The shellac polish chipped on my thumb less than 24 hours later. Now, a week later, 3 more of my nails are chipped. Unfortunately I left for vacation the day after I got my mani pedi, so I was not able to go back in to show them. The only reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars are because the staff were friendly enough and the mini massage was nice, but I will not be returning. read more

Walked in here to get shellac taken off my nails. They took me in right away as the place wasn't very busy. I was surprised it was so empty considering it was a Friday evening around 6pm. The removal was awful. I didn't know you could mess up removing shellac but apparently it's possible. The woman who did my removal clearly had no idea what she was doing. She took off the foil too early and after attempting to scrape, had to put the foil back on (3 times!). Finally she got it off, but at the expense of my nails which look and feel damaged. I was better off ripping it off myself. One of the other women working had to tell her to finish it off with "spray and towel" because it was clearly her first time. Would have been 1 star except the lady was nice despite not knowing a thing about what she was doing. read more

Literally the worst nail salon I have ever been to. If I could rate 0 I would. Two of my friends and I went to get manicures for my birthday. They could not even do a French manicure on my friend and on my other friend she asked for a small white line design and it looked like a 2 year old did it. When we were leaving the owner tried to charge my friend for a French manicure even though she didn't end up getting on cause they couldn't do it. I asked him to spray my nails with the drying spray and he ruined all my nails so they had to be re done. I will never ever go back. The pedicure was even worse. read more
