Daisy Nails and Spa, located on Yonge St. near Kempford (where the closest big intersection is Yonge/Finch), is a popular place in the neighbourhood of Willowdale to get your nails done. They also do spa services such as waxing as well. Do call ahead of time as this nail salon does get busy! They can try to accommodate walk ins but you may have to wait a bit or schedule an appointment another day. I had gotten my nails done at Daisy Nails a few years ago and decided to return for their services. My friend and I opted to go to Daisy Nails and Spa for our manicures (removal and shellac manicure for me, a shellac mani and pedi for my friend) on a Friday afternoon. I called about 3 weeks prior to the appointment as I wanted to make sure we got our manis together or around the same time. The staff were prompt to take my name and number down during the phone call. Day of our appointment, although we arrived on time we still had to wait about 10-15 min for our nail technicians. I probably waited a bit longer. The place was a little over half full and all the nail technicians were busy with other customers. My shellac removal and manicure took almost 1.5 hours long (usually would take me about an hour at another salon, however, I did have to wait a bit in the beginning). My nail technician was attentive and friendly. I had 2 split nails which she was aware of and took care to cover them up. She also listened to how I wanted to shape my nails and made sure I was okay with the length. Manicure wise, she did a great job! My friend was also happy with her mani and pedi services. If you pay cash you don't need to pay tax. They do however, accept credit and debit as well. Overall, good salon around the neighbourhood. I've been to this nail salon plenty of times and will always be a good choice to get your nails done. I like this spot, they always nail it! ;) They can do versatile nail art and attentive to detail on that. Cons. They don't have the friendliest service and don't listen as much. I opted for a shellac manicure with sparkly accent nails for the holiday season. The process took a lot longer than I anticipated, especially with the filing and trimming. However, my manicurist was really nice and patient with my indecisiveness about the colour. Would definitely come back in the future. My friend got gel nails, and they were too thick/wide. I love coming here for the service and their shellac French manis! I've been here for quite a few years already and the service is always really good - all the ladies are friendly and willing to chat (but sometimes require for you to start the conversation, or keep it going). I did a shellac French mani today with jewels and Judy was really amazing! She was very thorough and made sure my nails were perfect. The colour selection here is also great - a whole wall for regular polish, and lots of colour wheel choices for shellac! Also, I did a shellac French mani (with quite a bit of jewels) and a regular polish pedi for $75 and it took about 2 hours! This place is reasonably priced and doesn't rush your nails. Giving it 4 stars for the price as well as service. The lady I got was trying very hard, took her time, and seemed to be very careful. Unfortunately, with such an easy design she was not able to do it. The shape in the middle finger was way off and too thick, horizontal lines were not horizontal, I could have done it better easily. The last picture was the sample I gave her. She was not even equipped to do any sort of nail design, she had no thin brush, she found some transparent pink nail polish that had a relatively thinner brush head and dipped in red and white colour to do the designs for me. Ouch, the moment I saw that I questioned the effect. she did not know how to be detail oriented at all, the shape of the nail in the sample is actually the square kind she didn't notice that. Went here with a friend , no appointment. The salon looked almost full, my friend and I were seated as soon as we got in. We choose shellac manicures, because I wanted some designs I had to wait a bit for another nail technician. My friend got hers done before me. There are a lot of colours to choose , but you can choose 2 colours otherwise it'll be a extra charge. Overall the service was pretty good , there are minor errors on my nails but it's okay I guess? Daisy is absolutely worth it!! The girls are super nice and very accommodating to what you request of them. For $20 I got a shellac colour change and the lady (I didn't get her name) cut and filed my nails as well. She was very meticulous about having each nail the same length and in the same shape as well. I showed her a colour that I wanted on my phone and she went searching through the store to find the right colour for me! That's what I call customer service. Even though she was very careful, she finished within 45 minutes. I would definitely recommend calling in advance to book an appointment. The store gets quite busy, especially after 5pm on a weekday. I went on a Thursday at 5:15 and all their seats were taken up and half of their pedicure seats were filled. I would be weary of parking though. You can't park along Yonge street during rush hour! My go-to nail salon for a simple manicure! This salon isn't known to specialize in nail designs so if you're looking for something intricate and well done, this might not be the best spot. However, for the price, the quality is great! I tend to opt for UV powder gel extensions ($35) with shellac ($10) and a manicure ($10) -- a full set for $55! Honestly can't go wrongly. I used to opt for bio gel but due to the price ($55+) I don't get it regularly. They take walk-ins which is honestly what I prefer and I've never waited more than 15 minutes. Went to check this place out from its ratings and it was very very busy! Even though we called beforehand there was still a significant wait. At one stage they lost track of us and accidentally put someone ahead of us but were kind to fix this issue ASAP. For a small place, the salon did relatively fine. Nothing too major for issues, just one lady who seemed to rush significantly and the nails ended up being 'flat' for the two people she served in our group. Mine was quite kind to me! $35 for shellac manicure is pretty decent for what they provided. I wanted to get a transparent nails with a little color at the end, but they ended up making it 2 different ombre colors that make my nails look like children's nails. They should've showed me how it will turn out at the beginning, instead of applying directly for all nails and only asked at the end if it's okay. Service was ok. I really appreciate the work she does. Helen also did my bio gel fill she got to know me pretty well. I really liked her work she took pride in it and always did a good job. Honestly it reminds me of Nail Sense here except they don't play movies (just cp24). I like that they are clean with their tools (new package). I only come here for the spa pedi as it's $25. Great deal ! Tried manicure here for an added $10 and it looked great too. All the massage chairs work now ^^ Walk-ins seem to be better when it's close to or slightly after 5pm on weekdays. This place has always been a hit and miss for me. So I like to go a few times to a place before making a final review on it. The first few times, I was pretty content with the workmanship. The girls there are super nice (I've changed my mind a few times as they're applying the polished and they didn't roll their eyes when I regretted the colour and wanted to change it) and the colour selection is there, they have a decent range of colours and brands. But, as I started going with some friends who went to school for aesthetics I started noticing the flaws. The application isn't as even as I thought (this has happened quite a few times now), they're pretty aggressive when it comes to pedicures (they've clipped a bit too much a few times), and the longevity just isn't there. Overall, I'd give this place a solid 3.5. My relationship with this salon is like you and that friend that you don't really want to hang out with because of whatever reason, but you don't know how to let them go. For now, I'm going to try out other places and I'll see how it goes. read more

The store is always packed but it's never a problem to walk-in, waiting time was minimal. I did my biogel somewhere else and I needed them to be removed... the lady really took her time to remove my biogel and she did an amazing job with my Shellac after. Happy I found this place! The store might look a little dingy from the outside, but you'd be surprised how clean the store actually is... the tools and everything are sanitized after each use (unlike a lot of other places)... OK on the friendliness scale, but they really lack the skills to do anything beyond basic polish. They actually used nail scissors to detach the gel polish that was accidentally overrun on the cuticles! Diamantes/crystal add-ons (plastic, not Swarovski by the way) were sealed in only through a ridiculously thick clear gel overcoat. My manicure was a literally painful process, and at the end of it, I didn't even get anything close to what I had requested. My friend and I booked for a Friday evening and they were busy as soon as we walked in but they accommodated us right away. The lady my friend got was a little too rough, I noticed she'd twitch a few times and say it hurt while she was getting her nails done. In the end she said she's not entirely happy with the service. I, on the other hand, got a male nail technician and I admit I don't know how I feel about males because I think they have heavier hands. But the guy I got was so gentle and paid close attention to every single detail I asked for. In the end I was very happy with the service! Been to Daisy's a few times, and it's honestly a hit or miss. My friends and I used to love this place, but not so much anymore. They started to overcharge you for ridiculous reasons, and would never inform you about the extra fee until you pay. Told me $25 for acrylic($28 after tax), but ended up charging me $33 after tax because of "long nails" and "more careful", even though they have never charged for long nails before, and the nails were mediocre and hurt my fingers. Came back here to get acrylics done for the first time. I got the UV Powder Gels done by Melissa and absolutely loved them! The colour started chipping after about two weeks but only slightly (definitely not that noticeable). Will be coming back in the future to get refills. read more

We walked-in to get our nails done, two friends getting shellac and manicure for myself. We have waited for about 15-20 minutes and they didn't give us chairs to sit down, so we were basically floating around the shop. Finally our turn came. The nail tables weren't cleaned. The experience was okay, nothing too special, they did it diligently. Shellac colours came out fine, and mani was done well.
