They also used powder and claimed it's gel powder. He even confirmed with me "you want gel right?" So pretty much what they do is prey on newbies (I was one at that time) and use acrylic with a gel top coat & charge you for UV gel. I thought my experience was great until this happened. Please don't lie to me and say it's gel or anything related; that was in Jan when I got it done and every since then I've been doing my nails actual gel @ different spots every time and it's always gel, never a powder. There's no such thing as gel powder. - anyone who has experienced something similar and want to confirm you've been scammed as well, google "gel nail scam" Second experience- very recent. Had my nails done last monday (july 31) for VELD. Just got a simple acrylic+shellac red and Tweetie did it herself. It was pretty, done nicely and FAST. I loved it. But tell me. Why did it start chipping before the week was even done??? I didn't do anything irregular... then when I woke up on Sunday (august 6), the middle one fell off completely. Sigh. Such a waste of $55. They also told me to do chrome nails (the chrome powder/holographic powder), it's an extra $40 on top of acrylic ($35) .... my place in markham literally charges me $45 TOTAL for the same powder. :/ Rough. Anyway, on Monday (Aug 7), 3 of my nails were completely chipped and the middle one was gone. I had no choice but to take the rest off because nothing annoys me more than fugly ass nails. I'm so sad. She was very accommodating to my allergies (no almond oil for me), and to what I wanted to have done. The salon is clean; they even line the foot baths with something that looks like a huge shower cap! Being pregnant, I appreciate the extra attention to cleanliness! The prices were reasonable, and Tracy discussed costs with me before proceeding. I went on a Wednesday evening, and it was busy, but walk-in customers didn't have to wait. Tracy also gave me some advice on my pregnancy and birth, which made the 1 1/2 hours go by quickly. I've been to many nail salons, but I definitely will be a returning customer to this salon! Walked in shortly after they opened and there were already 4 people inside, which tells you just how popular they are. However, that didn't stop them from fitting me in to do a shellac mani pedi. I very seldom get a mani pedi, so please forgive me if your opinion differs from mine in terms of their colour selection, but I'd they have over 100 colours for shellac which was overwhelming but nice because there's something for everyone for every season. I got my pedicure done by Tina and my manicure done by Amy. Both of them are very meticulous, gentle, and patient. They both took the habit of checking in with me to see if I liked what they had done so far, which I appreciated. While I am not very picky or particular, I could tell that both of them cared about making my nails look great. A few other things: - Like other yelpers have said, if you're looking for relaxation and a quiet ambience, this is not the place for that, though they have great massage chairs. - Located by Summerhill Station, you can imagine the clientele they get. I walked in in my workout gear after a 12h night shift and felt out of place with women in fur coats, expensive bags, and pearls. This didn't trump the service though, they treat you as a customer they aim to please. - Tools used are all individually packaged and they open them up in front of you. - Pay flat rate with cash, tax added for card payments. TLDR: All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming, their service was great, and their price is competitive. I highly recommend!

The nail tech was very thorough and did a great job removing my gel and making it smooth again. She cut and reshaped my nails and removed the dead skin. Her work was pretty good as the shellac was smooth and didn't get any on my cuticles or skin. She made sure to check my nails were evenly shaped compared to my other hand.
