If I could give them less than one star I would. Customer service was horrible, they spoke in another language the whole time I was there, she cut me during my pedicure and than gave me a glance like I was being a baby when I complained. Manicure was worse because I had a HORRIBLE infection on my left hand ring finger that won't go away, no matter what I do. Not to mention polish chipped after one day...worst mani/pedi ever Place was absolutely filthy. Stay far away. UPDATE: went in and saw the owner. She asked me who did my mani/pedi and when I could not tell her she gave me an even harder time. Telling me I was giving her employees who are new immigrants hard time. First off DO NOT PULL THAT CARD WITH ME. A lot of my friends are immigrants and I do not have a racist bone in my body for anyone. Than had the nerve to tell me I needed to bring her a doctors note ... are you kidding me??? You want me to go back to the doctor pay $20.00 for a note and bring it to you to prove that I have an infection that you can obviously see with your own 2 eyes in your head. (See pics). She gave me a lousy $15.00 back for my manicure even though I have now paid $40.00 for drugs to fight an infection. She asked to see my foot which I said had been cut when I did my pedicure and because there is no mark left a week later she told me too bad...WOW You want an opinion STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HERE. They are rip off artists and I will be calling the Health Inspector to go in there. I'm so annoyed, I can't ever find a perfect nail spot downtown that's not ridiculous. I came here before once and didn't like my experience (you'll hear more later) but thought I'd try again because their customer service is really excellent and they are the sweetest. I usually go to my spot in markham but they close before 8pm and I work downtown so there's no way during the weekday that I can make it. First experience - amazing nail technician, fast and gorgeous nude and sparkly nails. However, asked for gel, paid for gel & they used acrylic.. I didn't know until after when I talked to my friend and my other nail lady and she's like "gel has no smell. gel doesn't use powder at all and no chemicals" - however, the smell was SO strong during that first time that they had to open the door. They also used powder and claimed it's gel powder. He even confirmed with me "you want gel right?" So pretty much what they do is prey on newbies (I was one at that time) and use acrylic with a gel top coat & charge you for UV gel. I thought my experience was great until this happened. Please don't lie to me and say it's gel or anything related; that was in Jan when I got it done and every since then I've been doing my nails actual gel @ different spots every time and it's always gel, never a powder. There's no such thing as gel powder. - anyone who has experienced something similar and want to confirm you've been scammed as well, google "gel nail scam" Second experience- very recent. Had my nails done last monday (july 31) for VELD. Just got a simple acrylic+shellac red and Tweetie did it herself. It was pretty, done nicely and FAST. I loved it. But tell me. Why did it start chipping before the week was even done??? I didn't do anything irregular... then when I woke up on Sunday (august 6), the middle one fell off completely. Sigh. Such a waste of $55. They also told me to do chrome nails (the chrome powder/holographic powder), it's an extra $40 on top of acrylic ($35) .... my place in markham literally charges me $45 TOTAL for the same powder. :/ Rough. Anyway, on Monday (Aug 7), 3 of my nails were completely chipped and the middle one was gone. I had no choice but to take the rest off because nothing annoys me more than fugly ass nails. I'm so sad. Came here for a last min pedicure before my big day. However, they barely did anything, and felt like my feet was just dipped in hot water for 30 mins, nothing else. The technician also messed up my toe nails, and told me to leave when my toes were not even dried. Further causing my gold glitter to fall off! Was horrible especially right before my big day. Terribly bad experience here. Horrible customer service. I came here with a girlfriend of mine last week to get pedicures. Everyone was talking in another language. And making fun of my friend while doing so. I may not know the language, but I'm no idiot. I asked one of the other workers why everyone was laughing and he froze and tensed up. I got him to admit to me, that the girl there was indeed making fun of my friend. It was pretty sad. Especially since we were both dropping like 50 bucks each on pedicures. The crazy part about all of this was that it was the owner who was making fun of my friend, I know it was the owner by the way she was speaking to her employees and after doing some research and seeing the owner comment on some of the posts here I realized it was infact the owner and was shocked that she would present herself in such a manner. How she conducts her business is beyond me. After that incident I started to look at the reviews on here and was absolutely disgusted by some of the pics I seen on here . I started to get worried sitting there getting my toes done after viewing the infection that one chick got. I wanted to puke. Absolutely filthy. It is quite clear the owner doesn't care at all about her customers. She felt guilty by the time we were leaving and I could tell she was worried that I knew how she was making fun of my friend. She gave us cards at the end to hold onto. She said every time we came back we would get a new sticker on it and it would go towards a free mani or something along the lines of. I told her I would probably not be coming back and she said something in another language again to her employee and they both laughed. I wasn't at all surprised at that point by her actions and attitude. If you don't care about customer service. Go here. They do an okay job. Well... I came here to get my fake nails taken off. I had never had fake nails before so I had no idea the proper way to take them off. To my surprise the nail tech used another acrylic nail, to DIG underneath the ones on my hand... she proceed to dig underneath them one by one until they were off. I was horrified and my nails were so brittle afterwards. I now know that the proper way to take the nails off is to soak them and shave the acrylic nail off, requires no pain unlike this situation I was put into. read more

UPDATE---RECIEVED INFECTION FROM THIS SALON .UNHYGENIC - DO NOT GO HERE .FILED COMPLAINTS WITH CITY ****recieved infection from this salon . DO NOT GO HERE. FILED COMPLAINT WITH CITY****" UNHYGENIC, incompetent employees, old nail polish and child labour all earned this salon a 1 star. Upon entering the salon, I immediately noticed the floors were dirty, with random things on the floor ( cotton, dirt, dust) .I was then shown to my spa chair which was also filthy. Obvious stains on the leather and grimey handles. I cringed as I sat down, and being in shorts it was more disgusting. I was prepared to walk out at that point but I was with a friend and did not want to cause a fuss. I was told to put my feet in the bath and wait for my employee. I was greeted by what looked like a 15-16 year old boy. I asked him to file and square my nails. He did not understand this simple request and took the clippers and made a vertical line down the left side of my nail. Yes he vertically split my nail. I immediately told him no and to stop and again repeated I wanted my nails filed and squared. It was at this point I knew they got someone's kid to work in the salon and he had no idea what he was doing. My friend wasn't doing much better with his employee. He was constantly squirming and giving little crys of pain .he had to tell his tech to stop many times because she kept digging into him. After I got a half assed file from the teenage boy, (and he did not square my nails) he then wanted to scrape my feet with the grater. My feet are not calloused enough for the grater, any salon tech with minimal experience would be able to identify that. I had to tell him no and requested just the scrub. Eventually when it came time to the polish application, he had to keep adding varnish to the polish because it had expired. My friend also had his manicure done to which a child, yes a child between 12-14 completed the service. It was apparent they were using these two kids to service customers. Illegal and unethical. I was appauled. Don't go here. I will never step foot in this salon again. And for the record, when i got home I doused my feet in rubbing alcohol. Update*** the rubbing alcohol could not save me from the nightmare tweetie salon put upon my feet - swollen and infected toe. Painful to walk. Oozing puss. Will be having a chat with city + lawyer. All I can say is in 2016 this place was good in 2018 this place is an unprofessional unhygenic nightmare. I do not know what the heck happened. read more

The tech who helped me with my Shellac manicure was very sweet, professional and helpful. She did a great job of handling my grossly overgrown cuticles and performed the whole task in a minimal amount of time, leaving me with a lovely long lasting finish. They have a frequent visitors stamp card and after 5 or 6 visits, you get 15 % off. read more

Went for a simple manicure. Overall did not like the outcome of my nails. The shape is horrible. The whole job looks sloppy and I could of done a much better job a home. Dropped in for a pedicure today since Pinky nails was a bit of a wait. There was no wait at Tweetie and the pedicure was cheaper at $26. Standard pedicure with nice massage chairs that can massage your thighs and butt. The regular pedicure includes a lower leg scrub and hot towel treatment. Overall, I was happy with the service I received and that I was in and out within an hour. Not a bad price for a place in the core. read more

They've got a great colour selection, the people that work there are really nice, the service is great. Despite my general clumsiness, my manicures seem to last longer than they do from other salons - this last one has held up really well for more than a week, where I often chip them in a day. The service is the best I have ever had in the GTA- price, value, and application is on point every single time. You get 15% off your 6th mani or pedi (I believe don't quote me) lol they have a coupon card and you get a sticker each visit. Which is nice and shows they appreciate your business. The ladies working here are great- always super friendly and welcoming. They always make sure your happy with their work and they do an amazing (and fast) job. My friend and I walked in yesterday and thought it was a littke weird that they weren't busy. We were seated right away. Ben worked on my pedicure and then gave me a manicure. He did such a great job. They're very clean, sanitary and didn't talk a lot. Their pedicure spa chairs are so comfortable. Get a pedicure there!! My friend messed up her fingeras we were walking out and Tweetie offered to fix it. She didn't seem iffy about it either nor did she try to rush us out even though they were closing already. I would definitely recommend going there for the color selection, great job and amazing customer service. read more

This place is sucks.... I had mani pedi shellac. They rushed their job and ruined whole my nails. The tip of my nails looks so chunky and ugly. Not even one day passed, I started to take them off. Also they took too much of my skin around of my nails so they all burning. This is the worst experience.... they charged me 110$ which I'm not satisfied. Very expensive for this job !!!!! read more

Tweetie failed to take full responsibility of the situation and instead tried to discredit me in saying that I did not know what I wanted. As a customer if I "did not know what I wanted", I would expect the staff to educate me on this rather than slapping on something completely different and trying to pass it off as what I had originally asked for. Main reason i go to nail salon is to get rid of extra skins around the nail. The girl that did mine did not even touch it. On top she was very unclear about the price. What i heard was np matter which extension i get have to pay $5 extra. So i picked french. Later i asked the owner she clerified if i went for clear one it would be 35+ tax. Also the tried to charge me for uv. She was going on and on uv is better yhis and that. So i asked whats the difference. She said better powder better gel so i said no uv do the acrylic. Anyway i finally got charged with acrylic$35 +$5 + tax.I asked for almond shape but I got something uneven weird shape. The worst nail job I ever had. read more

I'd travel for 30 mins just to go see my nail lady that's been servicing me for almost a year, rather do that moving forward or try the other nail salon just near by this salon. I definitely didn't tip her for she doesn't deserve it. I generously do but not this time. Please ensure the consistency of your services, the other reviews doesn't match up to what I walked into. I've been coming here for a while now. This place is great compared to the pinky nails down the street but depends on who do your nails. Price are reasonable. Staff are young and friendly but too loud most of the time. I always get Jenny to do my medi shellac and it always last like 2 3 weeks. She so professional and sweet. She told me she will not be here all the time and everyone else is as good as her and asked me to try everyone out in case she not here. And I did. Last time I came early in the morning and Jenny was off so I let the other girl do my nails. She was the only one staff there at that moment. the result came out bad color looked thick and the shellac only lasted for 5 days. I have to knock 2 star down because of that. I will never be going back to this salon. I have been to tweeties a total of 4 times and each time I leave disappointed. Staff are a bunch of kids who sit on their phones and talk loudly while not seeming to care about their task at hand. I went in for a shellac manicure and regular pedicure. my "shellac" literally peeled and chipped off the next day! What a complete waste of money. sat for 25 minutes waiting for my toes to dry until finally my technician got off her phone and told me I was done. Like other reviews on here will tell you, they completely rush and are sloppy. The owner tweetie did my acrylic refill once and it looked horrible and she hurt my cuticles while rushing. I came here after looking at the mixed reviews not knowing what to expect. I got bio gel extensions and shellac on top for 50$ (great price)- the service was very very quick , almost rushed but she did a really good job. Better than most places ! She did a good job shaping the nails but the polish was a little hasty . Would def return again though, end result was worth it read more

It's the second time I've been to this salon and today, I'm not happy with my manicure. The nail polish was applied somewhat sloppily without covering the tips of my nails on several fingers. It was also applied in such a thick layer that even after spending 25 min drying it, the polish peeled off on two of my fingers after I got home. Now I have to spend my time cleaning it and reapplying it myself after a brand new manicure. read more

The first time I went to Tweetie's I was not thrilled with the job. The price they charged me and told me it would be was different, and it took over two hours. After 3 weeks I returned because my nails were cracking. Again it took over two hours and I left very displeased with how my nails looked. After one week my gel nails started lifting to the point I could peel it off. I went in and showed them, saying this was not normal. They told me it would not happen to anymore and and offered to fix the one nail. I said I didn't want it fixed I wanted my money back because I was not happy with the job. They said they could only give me 50% back which I thought was less than suffice. TWO DAYS LATER three more nails fell off and more were peeling. I went in wanting them removed as it was extremely uncomfortable and my nails were catching on everything. I showed them to the girl and she got mad saying it's not her fault the technician did a bad job and it's MY OWN fault they were peeling. After explaining I had never had this problem before she began yelling at me IN FRONT of the customer and then walked away saying she was too busy and I needed to leave. I WILL NEVER return to this establishment. I was humiliated and robbed of my money. They do not respect their customers or their needs, and should learn what good customer service is. read more

This nail salon is spectacular! I had the best experience doing mani/pedi that I could ever ask for. The staffs are very friendly and they had the best customer service to be compared with other salons. I had difficulties choosing the right color, however, they helped me with random choices. They recently changed the old pedi chairs to the new modern ones which have intense massage at the back and I love it! The price is very reasonable with the service that they have been giving to their customers. Looking forward to coming back soon! read more

I usually go to another nail salon but I read decent reviews on this salon so I thought I'd give them a try to see if they could top my regular nail salon. Tweetie Nails and Spa is a very mediocre​ salon. For some reason, the atmosphere didn't make me relaxed like my usual nail salon with similar​ prices does. The guy who did my nails was nice but he wasn't the most experienced. For example, he didn't clean up under my fingernails and I had to remind him to do so. He was also slower than any other nail technician I've gone to. I got a shellac mani which usually comes with a mini hand massage as a complimentary bonus but not something this salon offers. One of my nails chipped after a couple days so I went back to fix it and instead of taking the entire polish off like my other nail salon does, he painted another layer on top which made that specific nail darker than the rest of my nails. The nail also for some reason ended up being crooked and there was polish all over the back of my finger. Such a rushed job. Two other nails also chipped after almost a week but I didn't bother to go in to get them fixed even though they'd do it for you within two weeks of getting your shellac manicure for free. I think I'll just keep on going to my regular nail salon. read more

I used to go here often, and would be very satisfied until the past few visits. I didn't have a specific nail tech I'd go to, since it was always last minute walk ins whenever I'd have time, so every experience was different. The first few times I went they did a really good job with my acrylics! Recently, the past few visits have been horrendous... once I asked for the "waterfall" style on my nails which I thought was a pretty standard design on nails, and I could do it myself but I didn't own shellac or gel polish. He even knew he did a terrible job and laughed when he asked if it was okay... I figured maybe it was 1 bad experience and went again. This time, my last time, I went to get a fill for my acrylics because I really liked the shape of the lady who did them (Windsor). First of all, there was miscommunication because he didn't quite speak English that well. Understandable. But he KEPT persisting I get a new set instead of a fill, even though it has only been 2 weeks since I got them done and only 1 finger was lifting. After he finally agreed to do a fill, he was completely changing the shape of my nails from stiletto to coffin!! I immediately told him to stop and asked for coffin, but at this point (my fault for not paying attention) they were so much shorter than I had asked for. He AGAIN suggested I get a new set. I said whatever it's fine, just make them coffin at this length. He cut my finger in 2 different spots, I was clearly bleeding but he continued to aggressively apply alcohol and other products on my hands which would OBVIOUSLY hurt. The shape was very uneven, and when I politely asked him to make them more even, he said that I was "tiring". It's just extremely disappointing when you're paying money to get your nails done expecting to leave satisfied and happy. Only good thing about the acrylics here are that they are reasonably priced. Personally I love it here. The foot and hand massage is the best I've felt at a nail salon. Plus they do this sugar scrub to exfoliate the feet. The other salons I've been to don't do that. It is great customer service and I can see myself continuing with their service for a long time. read more

At first I didn't like my French Shellac as much as my other favourite place. I thought they drew the white line almost straight across and too far down on the nail. The result is nails that looked a bit short, fat, stubby compared to the other place I've had them done that look long and slender (even with short square cut). So I'd say 7/10 here vs 9 or 10/10 at my other place, evaluated the day I get the manicure. However, as they grew out, it looked better and better. One week later, 8 or 9/10; 2 weeks later 9 or 10/10. So I got more mileage than usual. Also, they were very gentle, thorough, and kind. read more
