My lady butchered my toe nails...did not understand square look, made my toe nails round, not one toe nail is the same.... my heels looked as if she did nothing to them...a child could have done better! I went for gel nails AND THEY BROKE THE NEXT DAY, poorly done for the price ($70+), in the outcome as well as the process. Regarding the treatment, cuticle pushing was aggressive and painful. Some were crooked, the shape was inconsistent, and the size was questionable. The worst part, though, was that because the nails were done so thinly, two broke THE NEXT DAY, from opening a cupboard. As an esthetician for 4 years I just went to cozy nails for fun a few months ago to get a pedicure and an upper lip wax. I got my waxing done first because I didn't want to stay red after leaving the place. A lady came back yelling at the Asian lady that worked there saying she f'd up her eyebrows and I don't let other people touch my eyebrows so it wasn't a problem for me. The thing is I'm really grossed out when people double dip and the lady that did my waxing double dipped=\ My pedicure was cheap but rushed. They took tools out of a bag that looked clean but used a dirty nail file on me and I was very disappointed because people say they're real clean. Well I've been going here for a while now for my pedicures. I was going away on the Long weekend so I wanted a manicure(for the first time ever). Let me just say it was a friggin travesty! I had a great time at cozy nails while I was relaxing in the massage chair watching a chick flick and getting my nails done. The problem is the quality has really gone downhill. None of my nails were shaped evenly. They were higher on the edges and lower in the middle. I don't even know how that is possible. The next disappointing feature is my manicure began to chip within two hours of getting my nails done. I did nothing strenuous and the polish began to peel off. By the next morning it looked like my nails had been painted a week ago. I was really disappointed. The best part about my experience was the massage chair. I do a better job at filing and painting my nails than the girls at cozy. I was really disappointed. I had to repaint them as soon as I had time (two days later) as they looked hideous. :( read more

I'm disappointed to say I had a few bad experiences and won't be returning. This is how my most recent visit went: I booked a Gehwol pedicure for my day off because I have really dry feet. Originally, looking at their website, I wanted to get the Allpresan pedicure but I was told on the phone that they don't offer it anymore, so Gehwol it was. My nail tech was very impatient and she was rather rough with me, turning my feet at weird angles to make it easier for her to work on. The cuticle pushing was also really aggressive. Halfway through, she asked me if I booked a Gehwol pedi because I had INFECTIONS! What??? That's what people book Gehwol pedis for? Was I sharing the same products with multiple strangers who've had infections?! I said no, my feet are just dry... You get to use a Gehwol brand foot soak, scrub, mask, and callous remover lotion. There were a few items in her basket that weren't used on me - I don't know why. However, the callous remover shouldn't have been used on me because there were a few former cracks in my feet that were obviously still healing (sorry, TMI!). So it stung and wasn't fun. The massage was very short and just okay. Nobody offered me a drink until I asked for it even though it was a slow week day morning - and even then, I was made to feel like a nuisance. The foot mask wasn't as minty and refreshing as their regular mint mask. Also, they put my feet in electric warmers, which would've been nice except the plastic edge was razor sharp and torn, and it painfully rubbed against my ankles. The cream used on me was also super oily and rubbed all the way up to my knees. On my way home when I was sitting on the subway (and therefore closer to my legs), I hated the smell of my legs. The cream smelled good when she first applied it but as it settled in, it smelled like...the flesh of strangers. You know, like the smell of shared hair styling tools at hair salons? The fleshy smell of many strangers? That's what it smelled like, and I made a beeline for my shower as soon as I got home to wash it (and all the grime that stuck to it) off. I also chose to purchase two nail polishes in their display because one of them was a discontinued colour I'd been looking for and almost given up on. Plus there's a sign on the rack that clearly said the OPI polishes were on sale for $6.50. I was charged $10 for each of them and I don't know why. I was too taken aback (and still reeling from my crappy pedi) to speak up but I really should've said something. Considering it takes me close to 40 minutes to get here from my place AND it's a bit of a walk from the nearest subway station AND my last few experiences were unpleasant - oh, and it's not as clean as before - I'm not coming back again. read more

Terrible place. They don't listen to the customers, they over charge and it's an incredibly frustrating and not relaxing experience to go here. I went once and the lady doing my nails fought me on the colour. I hated the colour in the end and she refused to change it. I gave the place the benefit of the doubt since they won an award in 2013 and went back but had a horrible experience. They charged me $80 for Nu Genesis and a toe polish change. It came out fat, chunky and they used the wrong colour. I am never ever going here again. Very upsetting especially because I got my nails done here for an upcoming wedding. read more

Services are hit and miss depending on which esthetician you get. I've been going to this place for the past couple of years. My most recent experience was a huge disappointment. I went in for Shellac manicure....always had my hands soaked to soften the cuticles & nails for removal/filing/cutting. The esthetician today skipped the hand soak today.....gave me the excuse that soaking is not customary for Shellac manicures. Also told me that because I have sensitive cuticles, she left the dried up cuticles on the side of my nails. After I insisted on having the dried cuticles removed, she dry-filed away the cuticles and messed up the Shellac. At check out, the cashier was not helpful. Ok, this place looks great, gives out free drinks and candy and is neat with friendly staff. HOWEVER, if you are planning on getting your bio gels done here DONT GO. I think they focus too much on being quick so the quality ends up being bad. They did not shave down the gel on my nails enough and now when I hold my finger out straight, sintead of my nail being perfectly straight (so it looks NATURAL) theres a bump where the gel begins which makes my nails look...poofy. All other nail places I went to took one hour to refill my nails properly and nicely...here the lady was 30 MINUTES. Im not in a rush when getting my nails done so dont rush the quality of my bio gels ! I used to go to this place all the time. After going to a competitor south of Lawrence, don't think I will ever go back. Yes, the comp drinks and candies are nice, but is it worth 5 dollars more?? Cozy Nails has declined recently. Went yesterday for mani pedi and the length of massages for each is much shorter now. Also the manicurist I had was Lynn. She was not paying attention to me half watching the movie on the Tv and she cut the cuticle deep. It is now infected. I knew it was hurting so I was already pulling away. Then she clipped one so deep. When I told her she just put antiseptic on it and when I told the owner I was not tipping because of it she just put more antiseptic still charged me for the manicure. I came to this place after reading reviews online and brought my friend who was getting married the following day. After calling in for an appointment a couple of days earlier and requesting my friend and I get our mani/pedi at the same time, I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best ... Since we arrived early, we got to pick our nail colours of their massive collection of Essie and OPI colours. They even had the newest collection from OPI to choose from! The place was pretty busy for a late afternoon but it was clean and organized. They also had a senior's discount so we saw some older ladies and gents. Although the employees weren't chatty, it was fine since we were in our own conversation during our session (they did fulfill my request to have our nails done at the same time). As soon as we got into our big massage chairs, we were pampered from hand and foot. We weren't offered a drink menu right away but when asked, they have a multiple paged menu to choose from and we thoroughly enjoyed our smoothie! Mentioned by other reviewers, there is no rush for you to leave right away and the dryer station with candy and chocolates helped pass the time. Overall, we were happy with our session. Do not recommend this place at all. Very Expensive, a manicure and pedicure cost me $66. My manicure was Shellac and the pedicure was a very simple one. I normally get my manicure and Pedicure in J and C nails, a couple blocks south of st.claire and Yonge so I thought I should give it a try since they have Shellac. I did not get any massage on feet neither on my hand!!however in J and C nails I do pay $35.00 for both and get a very good massage also. They asked me to turn off the massage chair since they couldn't concentrate...also for the whole time I was bending over painfully on one of my shoulder because the cord for the UV machine was too short and they couldn't bring it closer!!! It was not a spa manicure and pedicure at all however I paid for that, I did not get a regular service either! Try J & C nails instead if you want to pay less and get NORMAL service!! I think the service is great - it's a very high end feeling for a reasonable price. Their pedicures are amazing with the mud foot wrap! My feet are very happy! The colour selection for polish is incredible and the application is strong - I wish they offered bio gel for nail repair other than the patches but either way, my broken nails are still in tact. Popped in here on a whim for a shellac manicure. Price point is reasonable and was able to make an appointment for the same day. The woman who did it was super sweet - my fingers are sometimes very sensitive to pain and when I had to ask her to be more gentle, she kindly obliged. She could also tell that my fingers were sore when she was cutting my cuticles so she very quickly decided not to continue with it. It was very much appreciated. And when I initially didn't like the colour I had chosen, she very kindly let me choose a different one. And an added bonus: they have free smoothies! I love Cozy Nails. Service - great! Appointments are always on time. They never keep you waiting even one minute. The ladies are always smiling and happy to address any special requests. Price for a mani/pedi is only $45 + tip. Very affordable and great results every time! The 'tool's they use are always straight out of a package so everything is very sanitary and hygienic. A big plus! Selection of OPI colours is incredible. The most difficult thing about coming to Cozy Nails is trying to decide which colour you want! The salon itself is a cute, flirty place with candies lying around the dryer area; massaging chairs, tv's set up with movies playing all day long. They also have a large selection of OPI polishes to buy along with scraves, handbags, jewelry stands, etc. A menu of free drinks (smoothies, coffee, tea) is presented to you a few minutes into your mani/pedi which is another nice little treat. Besides the nails, they also do waxing, threading and facials. I've had upper lip threading done a few times here and again, always positive. Getting an appointment here has never been a problem, in my experience. Most times I book at least 2 weeks in advance (though I don't really think that much time is even needed). There have been times when I call the morning of, and I get a spot for later in the day. Obviously peak times (December holidays, March break, start of summer) will be busier than others. Some people love trying new wines or restaurants, myself I love manicures, I consider myself something of a manicure connoisseur. In my pursuit of finding my HG manicure bar, I happened upon Cozy Nails and it has become my second favourite nail bar in town. They are very affordable; I usually go for the Shiny Day package. The staff are friendly and welcoming and offer you a variety of beverages to choose from on arrival (the smoothies are yummy!). The manicurists are skilled and accommodating, they do a great job on your hands and feet. The manicures I have gotten have been long lasting, at least 10 day worth of wear, which is a rare feat for my hands. I also appreciate being able to choose from their pedicure options, the Lavender herbal therapy is great is for looking for a relaxing scent or the Juniper Spruce herbal therapy is great for hot tired feet in the summer months. The TV screens playing girly movies and the wide selection of magazines are a great distraction after a busy day. The building is looking a little tired in comparison to more recent competitors but it appears to fairly clean inside and appointments are a must have, it be really busy. I dont get manicures on a regular basis but I have tried enough nails salons to know this place is good. I have gone multiple times here to treat myself to Shellac manicures. They have an impressive range of colours to pick from (even though I pick the same shade every time) and they usually have good service. I dont need the ladies to chat with me while they do my nails and most of the women there pick that up quickly enough, which I like. They offer free coffee and play movies. I like the high-end spa feel and so the prices are somewhat on the higher end. If you're okay with treating yourself to generally good service and average prices, go ahead. Recommend. read more

This place was horrible. I went to get a simple french manicure, and had to ask them to re-do it 3 times!! The first lady only did the tip white and painted ONE layer of top coat. THAT'S IT. I could have done that myself at home! Then they rush through it and left my nail with bumps. Asked her to do it twice, and same thing! She didn't even give me a base layer. Disappointed, I refused to pay unless I had another lady correct it for me. Second lady was better, but still rushed through the job. Usually my manicure takes about an hour, this only took 20 mins. This salon does have its regulars though and does get really busy, so always make an appointment. A pedicure is $35 before tax and tip and you always get a foot scrub and mask with your pedicure.
