Walked in shortly after they opened and there were already 4 people inside, which tells you just how popular they are. However, that didn't stop them from fitting me in to do a shellac mani pedi. I very seldom get a mani pedi, so please forgive me if your opinion differs from mine in terms of their colour selection, but I'd they have over 100 colours for shellac which was overwhelming but nice because there's something for everyone for every season. I got my pedicure done by Tina and my manicure done by Amy. Both of them are very meticulous, gentle, and patient. They both took the habit of checking in with me to see if I liked what they had done so far, which I appreciated. While I am not very picky or particular, I could tell that both of them cared about making my nails look great. A few other things: - Like other yelpers have said, if you're looking for relaxation and a quiet ambience, this is not the place for that, though they have great massage chairs. - Located by Summerhill Station, you can imagine the clientele they get. I walked in in my workout gear after a 12h night shift and felt out of place with women in fur coats, expensive bags, and pearls. This didn't trump the service though, they treat you as a customer they aim to please. - Tools used are all individually packaged and they open them up in front of you. - Pay flat rate with cash, tax added for card payments. TLDR: All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming, their service was great, and their price is competitive. I highly recommend!

Not to mention polish chipped after one day...worst mani/pedi ever Place was absolutely filthy. Stay far away. UPDATE: went in and saw the owner. She asked me who did my mani/pedi and when I could not tell her she gave me an even harder time. Telling me I was giving her employees who are new immigrants hard time. First off DO NOT PULL THAT CARD WITH ME. A lot of my friends are immigrants and I do not have a racist bone in my body for anyone. Than had the nerve to tell me I needed to bring her a doctors note ... are you kidding me??? You want me to go back to the doctor pay $20.00 for a note and bring it to you to prove that I have an infection that you can obviously see with your own 2 eyes in your head. (See pics). She gave me a lousy $15.00 back for my manicure even though I have now paid $40.00 for drugs to fight an infection. I usually go to my spot in markham but they close before 8pm and I work downtown so there's no way during the weekday that I can make it. First experience - amazing nail technician, fast and gorgeous nude and sparkly nails. However, asked for gel, paid for gel & they used acrylic.. I didn't know until after when I talked to my friend and my other nail lady and she's like "gel has no smell. gel doesn't use powder at all and no chemicals" - however, the smell was SO strong during that first time that they had to open the door. They also used powder and claimed it's gel powder. He even confirmed with me "you want gel right?" So pretty much what they do is prey on newbies (I was one at that time) and use acrylic with a gel top coat & charge you for UV gel. I thought my experience was great until this happened. Please don't lie to me and say it's gel or anything related; that was in Jan when I got it done and every since then I've been doing my nails actual gel @ different spots every time and it's always gel, never a powder. There's no such thing as gel powder. - anyone who has experienced something similar and want to confirm you've been scammed as well, google "gel nail scam" Second experience- very recent. Had my nails done last monday (july 31) for VELD. Just got a simple acrylic+shellac red and Tweetie did it herself. It was pretty, done nicely and FAST. I loved it. But tell me. Why did it start chipping before the week was even done??? I didn't do anything irregular... then when I woke up on Sunday (august 6), the middle one fell off completely. Sigh. Such a waste of $55. They also told me to do chrome nails (the chrome powder/holographic powder), it's an extra $40 on top of acrylic ($35) .... my place in markham literally charges me $45 TOTAL for the same powder. :/ Rough. Anyway, on Monday (Aug 7), 3 of my nails were completely chipped and the middle one was gone. I had no choice but to take the rest off because nothing annoys me more than fugly ass nails. I'm so sad. I love the customer service, the efficiency and I REALLY wanted to have a good experience here but I just didn't.. again.

Despite the strong fumes, Tips 2 Toes provided masks, which helped offset the smell. I had a good experience with the shellac mani and reg pedi, and there are massage chairs for the pedi. The salon also offers cold beverages. My only complaint is that there were several houseflies - some landing on me and eating the nail particles around me; the main door was open throughout the experience, but I'm not sure where the flies were coming from. After five weeks, my nail colour has barely chipped, even with a lot of hand washing and a multi-day camping festival trip. Tip: pay in cash for a discount.

The following review is for their standard manicure ($18, before tax and tip). *Atmosphere* The space is incredibly large for a nail salon, although you wouldn't know it when walking by as the windows are covered with a large decal. The salon is clean and bright, and there is a long row of tables for manicures, a row of chairs for pedicures, and several shelves filled with a wide selection of nail polishes. Everything is comfortably spaced out, and does not feel cramped at all. *Service* Service is stellar. The staff are incredibly polite and friendly, and really go the extra mile to make your experience pleasant. When I was selecting my nail polish at the beginning of my visit, they helped me find a family of colours that I could consider and compare. At the end of my manicure they also helped me zip up my jacket, backpack and wallet to ensure that the zippers did not ruin the fresh manicure. *Quality* When it comes to the manicure itself, the staff are all very detail-oriented and careful. Here, they apply two thin coats of colour for a beautifully precise nail polish, as opposed to globbing on a single layer like other places do. This way, the nail polish also dries a little faster. They also include a hot towel, a hand/wrist massage and hand lotion. In addition, I find that there is something unique about the hand drying machines that they use that really helps take the smell away from the nail polish varnish, which is much appreciated! One small area of improvement would be the entertainment or TV: the day I visited the TV was playing the news whereas in the past I recall they played movies. It would have been nice to watch something a little more entertaining and less dry than the news, but overall this ultimately does not affect the end result of my manicure. For a manicure, I would definitely recommend the Bayview Nails & Spa. It's a lovely, relaxing neighbourhood spot, and they really give you the star treatment!

Paying in cash also meant I saved on taxes, which was a nice bonus. One thing I appreciated is that you can book an appointment directly through their online booking platform. I grabbed the first available time slot in the morning. That said, my appointment started about 15 or so minutes late. I texted them to check in, and they let me know there'd be a delay, so I just waited around by the Shoppers next door. It seemed like the staff all carpooled and arrived a bit late to open together. Another downside was that the polish colours at least for shellac seemed pretty limited. I was hoping to find a nude, translucent shimmer but couldn't quite get the look I had in mind, so I just went with the closest option. One of my thumb nails didn't cure completely flat, but it's not super noticeable, and I'm not too picky given the price is on the lower end. If you're looking to get your mani and pedi done at a reasonable price, this is a solid option. For special occasions when I want my nails to be 100% perfect, I'd probably pay more and go elsewhere--but for regular maintenance, this place does the job.
