I had gotten my nails done at Daisy Nails a few years ago and decided to return for their services. My friend and I opted to go to Daisy Nails and Spa for our manicures (removal and shellac manicure for me, a shellac mani and pedi for my friend) on a Friday afternoon. I called about 3 weeks prior to the appointment as I wanted to make sure we got our manis together or around the same time. The staff were prompt to take my name and number down during the phone call. Day of our appointment, although we arrived on time we still had to wait about 10-15 min for our nail technicians. I probably waited a bit longer. The place was a little over half full and all the nail technicians were busy with other customers. My shellac removal and manicure took almost 1.5 hours long (usually would take me about an hour at another salon, however, I did have to wait a bit in the beginning). My nail technician was attentive and friendly. I had 2 split nails which she was aware of and took care to cover them up. She also listened to how I wanted to shape my nails and made sure I was okay with the length. Manicure wise, she did a great job! My friend was also happy with her mani and pedi services. If you pay cash you don't need to pay tax. They do however, accept credit and debit as well. Overall, good salon around the neighbourhood. It is a popular place so it does get quite busy, best to book an appointment ahead of time, especially on the weekends!

The owner has becme very rude and cocky over the past few months, is getting worse, and likes to gossip and insult the customers. I have always appreciated their services and always supported them, but after the last few times I have come in here and seen how nasty and greedy the owner and his wife have become, I have had enought. It is time to switch salons! I was a loyal customer to this nail salon since they opened (for almost 10 years), referred many people here, and they don't care. They pretend to be your friend to get information about you, then talk badly behind your back to the other customers, staff, and people that live in the area. It's sick! Then they act like they never said anythng. They can talk gargabe behind your back, but are too much of a coward to say it to your face. All they care about is getting your money! Did I mention that the wife of the owner of this salon has the nerve to tell other customers that her husband hates me while they are in the chair getting their nails done during the same time I am at the salon?! I couldn't believe it as I never have done anything to them! All I did was support them, and I am still in shock as why they have treated me like this. There is something wrong with this couple that owns this salon, and I would advise to stay away from them. I would check out other salons in the area, and just avoid this place all together. The only person that has remained consistant and professional over the years is the one stylist Calvin. In terms of the rest of the staff, I dont know what their problem or issue is, and I don't want to know. They can insult someone else. I would recommend to go elsewhere. They are better places to go that provide better quality, better customer service, where the salon is cleaner and newly renovated, there are places that have better pricing (I know as I have done my research the last few months before switching), other places have a better colour and style selection, other salons will do a design or ombre without making a big deal or refusing a simple request (not reject your request and get their other clients to post cheesy sticker designs placed on their nail and edit their google review afterward lol), other places appreciate their clientale, and there are other salons that do not insult you in Vietnamese behind your back while you are getting your nails done, gossip about you to their staff/clients in the salon, or people in the area to try and ruin your reputation. This place is rated a 4.7 on Google, but I disagree, after recieving this abusive treatment consistantly for the last six months, I would rate this nail salon as a 4.1, if that! The nail stylist proceeded to file these nails down with the electrical filer usually used for shellac. They were sitting right beside me and my anxiety was through the roof. Why would she be allowed to get her nails done? In this situation, shouldn't the business refuse service? I would really hope so but I guess not?? There was foot fungus nail dust flying everywhere and I was panicked and upset that I hadn't worn a mask. I'm really not sure how I feel after this experience. I'm going to have to just stay home and do my nails on my own. If you have foot fungus, please treat it first. Hiding it under coats of nail polish is not helping anyone! Please refuse people with foot fungus so people can get their nails done safely. Thank you!

I felt comfortable enough to book Maki to do my bridal nails close to my wedding without working with her before. I was lucky that she could accommodate me on short notice. Usually, she's booked out in advance and takes new clients rarely. Pre-booking with a deposit is required. So if you can get your nails done with Maki, do it! I gave her a few designs I liked, just a classic simple French manicure with white floral designs. She added some extra detailing and her spin, like pearls to the middle finger, to match my veil. I thought I needed to extend all my nails but I'm glad she gave me advice that I didn't need to as long as the nails are shaped well I can still get the look without discomfort after the event. We only extended one nail that was too short. She's located inside the Vermilion Medical Spa and rents a chair to work from. Green P parking around Elmwood Street and Yonge. Although the best way is to get there by TTC near North York Centre station.
