My favourite nail salon I have ever been to. The service is superb and the ladies working there are all so nice. They always make me feel so welcomed and provide amazing service. I've been here multiple times for pedis and manis and I've never had a bad experience. I took my friend here and she raved about how great the staff were and loved the shellac manicure she got. I really wanted to love this place with it only being a 5 minute walk from my house but the manicure was maybe one of the worst I've had. I will start by saying everyone was very nice at the salon, but my shellac manicure didn't even last a full week before the tips were chipping and it was peeling near the cuticle. And this wasn't just my experience, as I had gone with a friend as well and she had the same issue. Also just to clarify, neither of us perform overly physical or strenuous tasks with our hands, we both work full time on computers so there was no reason our manicures should have been chipping. My nail beds tend to be soft and a little oily so i'm used to my shellac not lasting as long as most people (around two weeks usually) but to see peeling and chipping after 6 days was really disappointing. Also the friend that came along with me gets her nails done every month at another salon, where the shellac manicure lasts that entire month without chipping, and after 5 days she had sent me a picture that two of her nails had chipped. She ended up going to another salon to get her nails redone the next weekend. I had also warned the nail tech about a hangnail I had on one finger and instead of avoiding it she proceeded to clip at it making it bleed. I will say one issue that can easily be improved upon that may have been a big cause of our manicure chipping, is that they only did two VERY thin layers of colour before finishing it with the top coat. And when I say thin, i mean my nails were still flimsy and bendy (which I never have an issue with after getting shellac) and you could see light through my friend's nails despite picking an opaque creme colour. their colour selection was okay unless you're looking for any kind of sparkly or glittery colours, definitely go elsewhere. Overall I'm really sad this place didn't work out for me, despite other glowing reviews here. But maybe my review can help them improve their practice. read more

I am torn on giving this review. On one hand, I want to keep this place all to myself, on the other hand, they deserve recognition and given how long each manicure lasts, I don't think my business could sustain them. The woman who runs this nail salon is hands down (pun intended) the best manicurist I have ever been to. Seriously. I have been having my nails done in this fair city since I was 19 years old (a long time, ok) and the last 4 manicures I have had at charm nail spa have been the best ever. Shellac manicures that last for weeks: most other places, my shellac will last 10 days, 2 weeks tops. My last manicure at Charm lasted 24 days. I went in because it was so grown out but still not chipped. Oh, and the best part: after 4 back to back shellac manicures, my nails are not even slightly damaged. When she takes the shellac off they look like it was just never there. She is a nail magician!!! read more

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT This was my go to salon for the last three years. When it changed hands, recently, I was concerned that I would not receive the same level of service I had come to expect. I have been to the salon under the new management and I must say I am very impressed. Mimi and company are polite, professional and skilled. Randomly dropped in to Charm one evening for a pedi because my regular place was too busy. As others have said, the place is impeccably clean -- they even line the tubs before every use so basically there's zero germs. The guy did a really good job of my pedicure. He was very particular and extra gentle so it was a nice relaxing experience. The only negative is that it took a loooooong time. I was there almost 90 minutes. I had no problem with it that night, but if I was short on time, I'd probably go somewhere else. read more

Got biogel nails (with nail extensions) here almost a month ago. I'm amazed at how perfect they still look. No lifting whatsoever even though I'm constantly using my hands and the finish is still glossy. Made an appointment on Friday (an appointment that I planned my day around) and walked in Saturday at the appropriate time to be told Kelly couldn't take me. No call or message to let me know. What was supposed to be a nice little treat for myself after a horrible week turned out to be the thing that left me feeling even worse. Will never return after being treated like that. read more

I am not sure why people have given this place such raving reviews. My experience was the complete opposite here. I made an appointment for 4:45pm and they took me in right away which was great. Other than that, the colors I chose were the only good experience I can mention. The girl completely rushed through my mani and pedi. She didn't soak my hands in water and when I asked, all I got was "I don't do that for shellac!" She pushed my cuticles back, cut around them, buffed my nails a little and started applying the shellac polish. Once she was done applying 3 coats I just wanted to see how they look and I said "can you do one more..." She snapped at me and said "I already did 3!" So I told her because it's a pastel colour I can see bald spots and she's like "if you want I can do it" but I can tell she wasn't happy. She didn't even give a proper arm massage just applied cuticle oil and a little lotion on the back of my hands and said "You are done!" In the end I paid for the job and even gave her a tip cause I have rarely ever not given a tip in my life. The whole thing was done in 50 mins - Super rushed for $55! Needless to say I won't be coming back here again. read more
