I have been to two locations and a number of times I have requested threading over the phone and received a technician that did not thread! It is unacceptable to book someone for a wax when that is not their requested service. I have been burned on my face by wax that is too hot. I do not use retinol or any other products that are not acceptable to use before a service. Make sure you are getting the service you actually booked. read more

Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I get the zillian and I've gone there for a few years now. At first I would book with a random esthetician and they were all great, but if you feel like you vibe well with a specific one you have the choice to book with them. I've been booking with the same girl for a while now and it's always so lovely seeing her every month and catching up. The wax itself is not very painful and the service is done so quick. They took me in right when I arrived even though I was a bit early. She did a great job on my wax , I felt comfortable the whole time. I have been going to Fuzz wax Bar Queen for 3 years now. About me: I am extremely sensitive (reactive skin and not dealing well with pain at all). I have been getting my eyebrows done for 12 years now, waxing for 10 years, and bikini wax on and off for about 5 years. My experience: Of all the places I have been to across the world (US, UK and Ivory Coast), this has been by far, the best. I have been lucky to fall on Cristina the first time I went there, and she has been incredible. I am not sure how she does it, but even the Brazilian wax with her, is less painful than underarm wax I've had in other places. That's to say, because we all know how painful Brazilian usually are. Besides, customer service is incredible, the cleanliness is perfect, and the professionalism and gentleness of all the staff is spot on. I am leaving the country soon, and I must say that this place is in my top 5 of the things I will miss the most here. As for the reviews that talk about the difficulty of canceling the membership, I must say this is not my experience. All i had to do is send an email (granted it was about 3 months prior to departure) and it's all sorted out. One of the things I love the most as well, is that everytime I've had to travel or could not come for a month, all I had to do is call them and ask them to freeze my membership (essentially not taking money the next month), so I can use up the services on file. When I first started coming here, I of course had my favourite "fuzzologists", but I always said it didn't matter who I booked with, because everyone was pretty good. Until recently, that is. I had the worst wax experience here a few months ago. The technician was late, the worst kind of late, the kind where they offered to comp my wax when I got to the front desk. They were rushed and missed areas, left chunks of wax on me, including my face, and just left me feeling pretty neglected. I had to walk around with wax on my face! I mean, I picked a good most of it off after they left the room, but come on! Like, give a shit, at least! You'll see, though, that I'm still rating 5 stars! That's because I really learned my lesson that day and I will NEVER AGAIN STRAY from the technicians I trust and love. Sometimes, you can just tell when someone really truly knows their shit. And they really do. I won't give the name of the person I didn't love because I don't wanna shame them if they were just having a crummy day. (We all do!) But my absolute favourite people here have got to be Nicole and Teresa. So good! So careful! So thorough! So kind! The best! Make sure you call days in advance because this location is always booked and cancellations are next to none. My sister got her Bikini done and she said everything was stop on. From the employee and the service it self. No complaints what so ever. They even put on after lotion so she doesn't get ingrown. How fancy. I got my eyebrow waxed. The girl was amazing! She drew in a design first then began waxing around the brows. Trimmed a little here and there. Fix my face and up aloe vera and sent me on my merry way. I was in the area for a course that I'm taking so I decided to walk along Bloor Street after being dismissed by my instructor. The place that I usually go for leg waxing didn't have any appointments available for the next few days so decided to go into Fuzz Wax Bar. They offer a number of waxing services for pretty reasonable prices. A full leg wax is $40 here. I was in and out within 30 minutes; my legs are now hairless and I can go sans stockings with my skirts. Definitely my worst wax so far. I don't even know my esthetician's name bc she did not introduce herself to me and didn't say anything to me except necessary questions during the entire wax, it was just dead silent except for the sound of my hair getting ripped out lol. And the bright overhead lights from the ceiling hurt my eyes and made me have to squint and try and look away from them while laying down so my eyes didn't water too crazy and make it look like I was crying. The wax it self was pretty painless, because very little hair was actually pulled from the root, mostly just getting broken off instead, so I might as well have shaved instead for way less money and roughly the same result. This review is based on eyebrow threading services. In the past, there were multiple Fuzzologists that were available for threading. I used to go to Carly, who was extremely professional, quick, and made great brows. I would give 5/5 to Carly. She unfortunately no longer works at the Bloor St. location and now only works at Leslieville. I loved Fuzz Wax Bar for their hair removal services because of the great staff members available. Currently, there is one staff member, Michelle, that does threading. Her threading technique has a lot of room for improvement. It is slow and painful, and the thread occasionally gets stuck in the hairs. After threading, she went over stray hairs with a tweezer, and even that hurt. After the service, the skin above my eyelid felt raw and it still stung hours after. She nicked my skin twice. I also believe her professionalism can be improved. She asked me if I had eczema because the skin above my eyebrow is dry (with no redness or inflammation). The inquiry about medical conditions seemed intrusive. She did give me great eyebrows though. Overall, I was quite disappointed in this experience, as I have always had great experiences with Fuzz Wax Bar in the past. read more

This is my very first Yelp review, because I want everyone to know how much I love this place. I go in for a monthly wax. They use hard wax on sensitive areas, so it REALLY doesn't hurt. I've been to some bad places in the city that leave stray hairs, red bumps, or feel like hell. Fuzz is none of these things. They are remarkebly efficient (I'm usually in and out in 20 mins or less), and I barely wince. I've seen four different girls now, and they have all been equally incredible. I have been looking for a Brazilian place, and this is it! The location is hygienic and bright and the staff are very friendly. I signed up for the fuzz faithful membership (35$/month) which allows me to get one Brazilian a month (or other things, but I chose Brazilian) and an extra waxing treatment during my birthday month. They use hard wax here, instead of the strip wax which I was used to. Some of my hairs were short, so my aesthetician used strip wax to get a clean finish, but otherwise it was all done with hard. My wax job was very good with very few stray hairs (that were probably too short to get). The waxing was relatively painless and pretty quick. My aesthetician (Lindsay) was very friendly with an adorable accent. read more

I'll definitely be coming back to Fuzz in the future. The staff are friendly, accommodating and professional! I really recommend coming to Fuzz if you're new to waxing (they use hard wax and they make sure that you're not too uncomfortable with the waxing)! The receptionists at Fuzz are very courteous and professional. They really care about their customers and they go the extra mile into making sure that their customers are well taken care of! I received a free wax session for my second visit after not being 100% satisfied with my first session - now that's good customer service! My overall take of the salon is that it is very relaxing and very clean - a very important factor for salons, especially for waxing salons. In terms of the waxing, everything is very sanitary - there were disposable sheets covering the beds, there was no double dipping with the waxing, and tweezers and trimming tools were always sterilized. My second session was particularly good since my aesthetician really paid attention to details and she made sure that I was satisfied with her work. So after 10 years of monthly waxing I discovered Fuzz and let me just say that it is THE BEST waxing experience I have ever had, bar none. The price, the consistency, the level of service, the convenience. It's just unbeatable. All the ladies who work here are lovely, efficient, professional, reassuring, kind and funny. Aymeen serviced me with a Brazilian wax today. She was amazing. Upon getting into the wax bar, I was taken into a clean room right away. It smelled divine in there. Aymeen was incredibly thorough with the wax, and any strays that she saw, she tweezed out with diligence. I know that some waxers don't bother with that, so I really appreciate that she did an impeccable job. $35 for a Brazilian, once a month as per their membership-- this is a great deal and value for the money; I signed up today. read more

This is the best place to get waxed in the city. I tried many and I just like Fuzz better. I had gone to their Queen location and loved it there but this is closer to my work so it's easier. The place is spotless and pretty, you can tell it's brand new and the staff is just as nice as on Queen. I get my brows and brazilian done almost every month, and i love their hard wax, I barely feel anything. I had Nicola last time I went and she's my new fave. I also heard great things about Amy (I think that's her name) doing brow and upper lip threading so I think I'll try that next time. I just have to add after reading one of the reviews here that I also go to Mync (for my eyelashes though) and I love them, but it's really not fair to compare them and fuzz. I mean Mync is a brow bar, that's all they do, and they make you pay big money for it, so i don't think it's fair to expect the same service in a wax bar that doesn't really do brow shaping, but more a simple clean up... I mean people take special classes for brow shaping when they go work in brow bars (so my Mync girl says). Anyway, thought i would mention that. My brows always look great when i go to fuzz, they don't require an extensive shaping every time. read more

I've been getting waxing done for about 9years now so I know how it should be done. I got my eyebrows, face, and arms waxed on my first trip and it was perfect. went there for a total wax ( bye bye natural fur), i made an appointment online but when i arrived i had to wait at least 20 min since the girl who was in my charge was still busy. It didn't really bother me since i had no plan for the day and that the service was really nice to me, at the end the girl was still busy so the manager took me to start the wax, she was really professional and nice. everything was quickly and painless. For the brazilian another girl came and i have to day it was the quickest brazilian i ever done, usually i laugh really loud because of the pain ( mechanical) but i have to say that this one was really done as quick and painless as possible! i was really satisfied with all the service and i recommend to take one of the membership , 50% off in all the services that's a good deal! read more

Great place for a Brazilian. Appreciate that they actually leave the room and allow you to freshen up and undress, unlike another wax bar in Toronto. Only thing is, their waxers are inconsistent. I've had some really great waxes and some not-so-great waxes, including some oddly-shaped triangles (including some that were asymmetrical... kind of a pet peeve). One woman in particular gave me a REALLY painful wax. However, I've found one waxer, Nicole P. @ Bloor Street who is AWESOME. Just had my first experience here and I'm very pleased. Booking online was very simple and convenient, the reception staff was very warm and welcoming (even though they verbally verified my service a little more loudly than I expected - but I guess there's no point being shy at a wax bar!), and the place smells heavenly. I also appreciate that it's spotless. I really, really liked that I got who I booked. From my experience with many places with online booking systems, that's kind of rare. I read a positive review about Marley so I booked her, and she's the real deal. She didn't rush the process (though she was efficient and had me in and out quickly), she checked to make sure I was okay with the wax temperature, applied pre- and post-wax products to my skin to minimize discomfort and irritation, used different kinds of wax to ensure the best results/minimize discomfort, and was very thorough - as a previous review said, she even went in with tweezers to catch the few, stubborn strays. She also made some needs-based recommendations (as in she suggested things that would actually be beneficial, wasn't selling hard or recommending things I didn't need, and actually suggested a more cost-effective alternative because I didn't need the pricier option). The staff do encourage the membership, but they are not pushy about it at all. Even though this location isn't super convenient for me, I'd be happy to return! read more

I have been going to Fuzz for about 1 year now (I signed up for the Faithful Membership) and normally have upper legs and Brazilian done, and occasionally armpits. I do not have a specific staff member that I see and have been to a variety of estheticians. Every time the service has been great. I like that they use hard wax on sensitive areas. I have been to places that don't and it makes a huge difference. The salon is always clean, service is always professional. I honestly do not have any complaints. I love the online booking service it is easy to use and also easy to cancel. I will be renewing my membership. read more

3.7/5 Very quick and professional place. Unlike other wax bar, fuzz provide very pleasant reception service (I had a lot of struggle with other waxing bar before I reached fuzz). I went in for brazilian wax and technician was very quick and proper with removing my unwanted fuzz. Fuzz use hard wax so it removes your hair cleaner than soft wax. It was faster than soft wax too so I liked it. However, my technician made a lot of mess on my body, didn't even clean up the mess and rushed out from the room to chat with her coworkers outside. She also left fair amount of hair at the back. To be fair, she did told me to check up on myself and call her back if I need extra touch up but I was in too much of pain or shock( or both ) to actually check up on myself... So I guess I can't completely blame on her for not doing a clean job.. But when you are covered with your cut out hair and left over wax all over your body, you can't really tell what's scissored and what's actually still attached to your body. I understand gap between sessions are short so they have to provide real quick service but I really wish she paid more attention to the details. Also why don't wax bar provide a disposable gown?? It's so uncomfortable to wait technician to come in when you are half naked on the table. It's so awkward and makes clients nervous! I really hope them to add a disposable gown in their future. It will really brighten up the session. Anyway overall this place is okay. It's like a pickle barrel in wax industry. It's nothing fancy but quick, clean and deliver the result you expected. Update: Management reached out to me and are in the process of resolving this issue for me. For the record, the service here is excellent and the staff doing the waxing are great. My issue was never with their service, but rather the membership issues, otherwise they are a great wax bar. Don't let the staff members trick you into getting a membership here because as others have said, they make it impossible to cancel. This is something that bothers me as a customer with a disability, because I was taken advantage of. I've been trying to cancel mine since October. I have not tried going into the store because of my disability making it hard to get around. When I ask them over the phone, I've been told every time that a manager will call me to cancel, but I have never heard from any manager. I have tried asking for an available manager, but they shut me down right away. This is the third time they have charged my credit card. I would counsel people never to sign up for a membership here! read more

I tried their first location 2 years ago, and I was thrilled the service remains as good as it was! I love the high quality of service and the product they used. I had their Fuzz Fanatic membership for over a year and decided to switch to lazer because it's better for my hair type. I was informed at the time i terminated my membership that i would be unable to receive a refund for the remaining treatments i had already paid for and that instead i could extend the membership for another month and use it. When doing lazer hair removal you are unable to wax between treatments so i didnt see me using my remaining appointment at fuzz. I then inquired to see if my family member could use the remaining 5 body part wax on my behalf and they said they had a no transfer policy and that since i have already extended the service the option of me getting a refund is no longer available. What what what?? I'm not one to write reviews because frankly i have better things to do with my time but i'm writing one now because i'm angry with this service. Back in the summer time they had hired an aesthetician that had no idea what she was doing. The wax she used was way too hot and she was even holding the can of wax in her hand which at one point brushed up against my leg. Luckily i was aware of her actions and so quickly moved. I informed the manager after my wax of my experience and at my next appointment found out that she had later burned other clients. What sort of training are these people getting?
