I was here last week for upper lip threading and the experience wasn't the greatest and the place felt a little dirty. Location: Not very convenient and I don't think they have parking other than by the road. I took the subway to Lawrence station and walked about 10-15 mins to get to the place. My other option was to take a bus but I didn't want to wait. Wait time: You can book an appointment on their website and they'll send you a SMS confirming the appointment. When I went, there was no line up. I had an appointment and I waited 2 minutes (because the lady had to finish threading a client). Service: 2.5/5 There was as little service as humanly possible. When I walked in, the receptionist was on the phone and she told me to fill out a clipboard with my info. She didn't exactly tell me, she gave me a clipboard. After this, I was told to change from my shoes to their slippers. Note: these slippers didn't look clean. It looked like it hasn't been cleaned for days. It felt kind of nasty wearing their slippers. While being threaded, the lady went through the whole area but it felt rushed. After the redness went away and I waited two days, I noticed hair that wasn't threaded off. I wish they were more thorough. On the plus side, the receptionist and threading lady weren't deliberately rude but felt very distant. You know how some people make you feel warm and welcomed. Well I didn't feel welcomed there. Threading job: 2.5/5 It felt like she took a lot of hair off my upper lip but she missed some. The amount of hair she missed were not an area but here and there. So I felt like the threading job a bit sloppy. Cleanliness: 1/5 When I walked into the place, I smelled BO (but I do have a good sense of smell). When the lady started threading me, she didn't sanitize her hands. Also, before she started threading me, another lady handed her money. So imagine for a second-the germs in money, threading lady touches money, she doesn't clean her hands after and she starts threading you. Just think how unsanitary that is. The reason I didn't give cleanliness 0/5 is because the place looked clean (i.e. no clutter). That's why I give them 1/5. Prices: Very reasonable. Please see pic for prices. LONG REVIEW ALERTT!!! NEVER GO THERE FOR FULL BODY WAX! As the owner of an IT company with 10 years of experience in the customer-facing industry, I have never encountered such awful people and service. It's shocking that a business can operate with such a lack of empathy and professionalism. I recently had the misfortune of visiting Prayosha Downtown beauty salon for a full body wax/Brazilian wax service. I arrived an hour late, apologized, and offered to wait or reschedule, but the front desk girl, Jasmine, suggested we proceed. The service was a disaster from the start. The initial technician, Roopi, was rough and careless, causing me to bleed from a burn bruise on my right hand's finger within the first 5 minutes. When I politely asked her to be more considerate, she was defensive and unapologetic. I was shocked by her attitude and lack of empathy. After that, Roopi disappeared and never came back to explain herself or apologize for her actions. Fortunately, Arushi took over and completed the service in another 2 hours. YES, 2 Hours!! Because the drama continued as Jasmine took turns trying to justify her ever changing statements and constant door knocks interrupting Arushi to leave my service and attend other customers. Arushi did whisper to me that I shouldn't tell others that she had finished the entire body waxing may be she knew that the other staff members were trying to take advantage of me. At two instances, I was offered a partial service by Jasmine but she would constantly change her statements. I think, she needs medical help with this foggy brain. It was clear that they were not interested in providing me with the full service I had asked for. They were asking me to pay the full price but they wouldn't do the front and the back as apparently, they didn't have the time bandwidth. I offered them that I could potentially wait or comeback in an hour or two but they didn't want that either. As I later found out, the girls were scared to provide me with the service because of my dry skin. While I understand that may be a concern, it was not the only issue. The real problem was that I was being body shamed and discriminated against because of my weight. I was made to feel like I didn't deserve the service because of my size. I was appalled when I asked Jasmine if the girls were hesitant to work on me because of my weight? And she said, YES! And kept blabbering further!!! Which honestly, I didn't listen! Throughout the ordeal, I was body shamed and humiliated, and I felt like I was being treated like dirt, a burden, not a customer. The staff's lack of empathy, professionalism, and manners were appalling. As an Indian woman myself, I was particularly disappointed to see such behavior from people who claim to represent our community. It's a shame that they are perpetuating the same stereotypes and biases that we try to overcome. Am I not allowed to have beauty services just because I'm obese? I'm paying the full price, just like anyone else. It's not like I'm asking for a special treatment? It was Roopi who suggested a special treatment while rolling her eyes in disgust and I quote, " I can't do the service alone if you expect me to considerate of your body (she meant flabby excess fat), I would need another girl to help out." To make matters worse, I started bleeding from a wound that I had, which the careless technician, Roopi had ignored and ripped off. It was a painful and traumatic experience. Eventually, I spoke to the owner, Kumud, who was 300 Kms away, she heard me but had a different story to share. Maybe her employees lied to her to cover for themselves. At least she was understanding and spoke in a professional way. In the end, I still ended up paying the full price of $89 for the service, despite the horrific experience and crying at the salon premises!! I want to warn others: beware of Prayosha Downtown beauty salon. The staff's behavior is unacceptable and is a reflection of the worst of Indian society from RURAL INDIA. Their body shaming and discrimination towards customers is a shame!!! It's a shame that they are bringing Indian community down with their ignorance and lack of empathy. read more

WOW! Where do I even begin. This is my first time here as I was visiting Toronto. Upon entering, there was a sign that says to "take off your shoes" with some dirty house slippers in the front for you to wear. I'm sorry but that's not hygienic and no one wants ring worms or athletics foot. I requested to get my eyebrows done and told the man at the receptionist desk and he pointed me to the lady on the 3rd chair on the right side. I told her what I wanted and we got started. In the middle she asked if it was my first time and she goes "these eyebrows are special pricing" WHAT is that supposed to even mean? The pricing on the outdoor and inside signage stated $8! Everything was so so so rushed! I told her to fix my right middle part and she did the wrong side! My friend had to tell her to do the correct left side! THEN at checkout, the guy behind the reception desk stated "THIS time I'll charge you $9 but next time you'll have to pay special pricing" WHY???????????? They couldn't explain what special pricing entailed. Just because I told the lady to fix something it's "special pricing." I would rate this place 0 as they have no principle to be transparent in their pricing and take advantage of 1st time customers. They are really arrogant, lazy AND rude. Please work on your customer service skills before you serve in a customer serving industry and update all your signage since there is no mention of "special pricing." read more

I came here based on reviews, I unfortunately do not have the best first impression. I am referring to the cleanliness of the place. The mirrors were dirty, you could see old prints and smudges, the floor was very dirty in washroom and main room, and what made this worse was the private wax room was also dirty. Almost as though no one cares to upkeep. Not cool, this has to be hygienic for clients to perform such services, I work in the beauty industry and cleanliness and hygiene is a big deal. I am giving this place a decent rate only because the girl who did my Brazilian, full legs and pits did a good job. She did it fast, she cooled down the wax and she kept conversation. She did miss afew spots Brazilian but not big deal to me. Message to owner; have a stronger cleaning protocol or procedure for this salon so that it keeps up with the all white theme. read more

Went there today for their combo special $10 (Eyebrow and upper lip threading). Not a bad place, clean and professional, they know what they're doing. Ask to have mine tidied up and thinner, they thinned it too much in my opinion. But recommended for sure to anyone and I will be going back again! I went for a standard bikini. the wax person who I have been to previously went into the inner part with hot wax. she tore off my skin and I was left bleeding which continued for hours! I visited the church street location had a very mediocre service (which is not my complaint here) what I was appalled by is the way the manager behaved when I returned and told him that the threading was uneven and it needs fixing. He started arguing and justifying while all I wanted was a fix, I would have paid for it if that was the issue but his behaviour was ridiculous. I sent a detailed email asking him why to explain his behaviour cause I did not want to write a bad review, in response all I got was a "thanks". I've been on the hunt for a good, but affordable, eyebrow threading place. I stumbled upon this place thanks to Yelp. I was a bit skeptical at first because I thought that it may have been too good to be true and that there were too many positive reviews and maybe they had their friends or employees write it. So here's my experience: I finally made the trip here. Google Maps made it seem much further than it actually is from Yonge & Eglinton - if you're lazy, take the 97 North. It was easy to find. As you walk in, you notice how CLEAN and SPOTLESS this place is - just as everyone else mentioned. Now, I've been to my fair share of eyebrow studios and they have ALL be dingy... this place, while it is new, they are trying very hard to keep this place spotless, which is fantastic! As I walk in, I'm greeted by the friendly receptionist. I told her what I was there for, she asked me to take my boots off (duh, because it's gross outside and the entire place is white and sparkly). There's the options to put slippers on - they have a few colourful ones near the entrance. I opted for wearing my socks. I sit down and I'm greeted by my brow threader. She was very soft spoken, but I felt like she was really listening to me when I told her what I wanted. She told me what she was going to do. As she threaded and finished one eyebrow, she asked me to look to see if I liked it. I have NEVER been asked this before at an eyebrow studio. Usually they just thread then tell you to get out. This lady (sorry, I didn't get her name!) was very quick, professional, and she got the job done extremely well. She paid very close attention to what I was saying and what I wanted. She actually cared about what I thought of her work rather than making a quick buck and butchering my eyebrows. Not sure why people say eyebrow threading is painful - I find it quite relaxing? :) I paid $6.00 for my eyebrows to be threaded and I have to say that I'm extremely happy with my brows. I feel so refreshed and clean! :) I will definitely be coming back here for my next brow threading. Definitely worth the little journey up north! I highly recommend this place. read more

North York brows should be on point after the lovely ladies of Prayosha cast shape to your Cookie Monster eye umbrellas. The place itself is clean and everything splashed with white giving a perfect ambiance and clear lighting to tame strand by strand... accurately. Get a member card for no fee to record all visits to ensure a free eyebrow threading on the 7th or 8th time ( I'll have to confirm that detail on my next appointment). Facials are coming soon too! This is, in my opinion, the best option for someone living at uptown yonge street. Its at a walking distance if you are willing for a nice walk, is open till 8 p.m. on weekdays, is super clean and maintained. But the most important reason why I love this one is because it is cheap compared to other salons at yonge street and still offers best service. I just paid $6 for threading unlike other salons where I have to pay $15-22 or drive down to Scarborough/Markham to get my work done. I have been at this salon twice and I never found a waiting time of more than 10 mins, you can save that if you book an appointment before you go, on their fancy website or on phone. I've gone here a handful of times and always on a weekday so it's not at all busy. I come here to get my eyebrows threaded only. I usually get it done by the same person who will ask me to hold my brow with my fingers. I am pretty pleased with the shape of my brows each time. There are times when I wish they could have trimmed a bit more hair or done a better job cleaning up stray hairs so when I get home I do end up doing a little clean up. Also, I would love it if I didn't get all teary eyed after threading but that has nothing to do with them. I wish that it was not so far away from Eglinton station. They are right in between 2 subway stations so it's a bit of a walk to get to them. I do always end up going back when I have let my brows get unruly though and the price is great! read more

This place really needs to work on cleanliness. From the front it's very dusty ( shelves) etc. Their threading was not very precise and I had to do touch ups at home. I opted for the full body wax, and for some reason the girl that started with me didn't finish. She switched half way thru. Awkward to have to lie there exposed waiting for another stranger to see you. They double dip during waxing, I got a ton of ingrowns after and most of the hair wasn't waxed, but instead broken off. My hair regrew within a week. This place may have slightly lower prices, but it's definitely not worth what they charge. Pay a bit more and go to Aroma waxing clinic. They're clean, no double dipping and polite. I heard fuzz is good too just haven't been there yet. Oh and at the end, the girl squirted me with oil rather then palm some in my hand. I felt like a turkey. It was a very odd experience. read more

Don't waste your time here. Service is awful and people here are rude. I had a bad experience today at Prayosha with eyebrow threading. I told them I wanted my eyebrows cleaned up and was clear about how I was trying to grow them thicker. They decided to make a new shape and took off half of my eyebrow. I found this place through Yelp and after reading great reviews, I went first time to this place to get waxing. I was running 10 mins late, but they welcomed me in and were ready to serve. Shruti is amazing at her job, she is fast and efficient. She keeps you involved in conversation and makes your attention wary away from feeling any pain. She is super sweet and friendly and makes you feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this place for best price in this area, along with great service and amazing staff. Ok. I'm working at a salon and I know everything about waxing. That day was my day off i just wanna treated myself for a very long week working. I got the brazillian waxing from here. The young girl with long hair did it for me. She was not friendly or nice at all. But I dont care as long as she does a great job I'm ok. But no she was so horrible at her job. I've been here multiple times to get my eyebrows threaded and to get Brazilian waxes. The staff are friendly enough and the establishment always looks clean in the front. However, there have been a couple of times when the wax room wasn't cleaned up from the previous person before they sent me in there. Their eyebrow threading service is reasonably priced. The only issues are that they never ask you if you have any preference on how you'd like them to proceed, they don't take the time to make sure the shape suits your face, and they don't go in with tweezers afterwards. Over time, after getting my eyebrows done here consecutively, I noticed I didn't like the shape my eyebrows were "evolving" to. I would not recommend getting waxed here. They don't cool down the wax a bit before applying it. Unless you always ask specifically prior to them starting, they will burn you with very, very hot wax. I have also experienced ingrown hairs and rashes after my sessions. read more

This review is for their new location, in North York on Yonge, south of Lawrence. I walked-in taking in chance, since I had never been in before. The place is spotless, super clean. The ladies were very professional and nice. I don't know the name of the woman who did my eyebrows, but I was very impressed how thorough she was, and I am thrilled with how they look. One of the best place I've been to get my eyebrows threaded. They were botched from a different place I went to, and I needed someone to be very careful with them. The girl that did them (afraid I didn't get her name), understood what I needed, and did a fantastic job. And for some reason, it really didn't hurt. All the reviews about how spotless this place is are accurate. The staff is really friendly too. Within a few weeks, my eyebrows are back to normal.
