Scheduled a time with them last Friday and they had availability and we scheduled a date and time. Erik said 8-9AM on Tuesday (this morning). Before they arrived, I moved all the potted plants a good distance away from the palm tree. I also covered two plants that I couldn't move with a garbage can to protect them. The palm tree leaves fall a good distance and will mess up anything they fall onto. I also created a small path in our backyard for them to walk through. Erik and his crew arrived promptly at 9AM. Erik brought 2 people with him. Ivan was the one going up and cutting off the leaves. Salvador was the one carrying leaves off to the trailer in front of our driveway. Before they started work, they laid down a large tarp to catch most of the debris. Erik's whole crew was very courteous and professional. They worked quickly and cleanly - the backyard was either in the same or slightly cleaner condition than when they started. From start to finish, the job took about an hour and 45 minutes. They're very efficient! We also had quite a few palm tree leaves that fell from our neighbor's tree. They helped haul away those as well. As well as nice people! The crew was friendly and easy to work with. And very accommodating when we needed to move our cars they were right there moving their equipment out of the way . They used a ginormous crane to expedite the work . parked it in the driveway as close to the trees to be removed as possible. They spent a long time balancing it for lifting heavy load, then the operator started carefully extended the arm towards the sky until it reached into the eucalyptus. I was surprised and in awe when I realized there was a man in a harness , suspended off a cable attached to the crane which appeared high in the blue sky .They slowly lowered him into the tree tops with a chain saw attached to his belt! I watched the for the entire day and days after from my patio . I watched through my phone camera so I could zoom in and see up close. I also took many videos and photos of the process happening in front of me. I watched as he cut each tree into 2'- 4' sections until each tree was cut and carefully removed, As if by magic each section was lifted attached to the crane cables, up and over the house to the street, where the ginormous chipper was waiting and the crew was there to guide it to the ground . the sections of tree and logs were gathered and then fed into the chipper and they became instant saw dust! The crew cleaned the street everyday. They cut 14 trees in 3 days. And even worked in the rain! And then some pine trees were added to the job that were hidden amongst the eucalyptus! My parents felt the quote provided from the tree arborist was expensive. My sister asked me to find other trees arborists on Yelp. I asked J.T.S. Tree Expert for a quote. When I made the request on Yelp I also checked the box to send the request to other vendors. I met most of the vendors that responded through Yelp at my parents' place. In August I scheduled as many tree arborists as possible I could for a free estimate. I learned a lot from them regarding what needed to be done. Seeing multiple tree arborists provided me insights on what issues to ask. After the appointments each tree arborist provided me with a quote. One was really expensive even though he was licensed. There were a couple of tree arborists that weren't licensed that provided more reasonable quote. One thing I observed from my encounters with the tree arborists is they would tell you about the estimated quote for the trimming however when I received the quote there was another charge for the cleaning. When I met Jose and Veronica from J.T.S Tree Expert I showed them the backyard on my parents' home. J.T.S was the second to the last tree arborist I scheduled for an estimated quote. Jose told me that time frame for trimming the trees would be six hours. At the end I decide to go with J.T.S as they were not only licensed but also the cheapest as the quote included the tree trimming and the cleaning.
