I've been to this Ross many times and it's pretty solid. It does get busy on weekends but there's plenty of parking and usually I can find something. There is a lot of stuff here to go through and it's usually organized fairly well. Some things are more expensive than they should be, but you can also get some good deals if you look hard enough. The selection obviously varies day to day but I've been able to return multiple times to get more of the same exact item before, so don't give up if you can't find what you're looking for the first time. read more

There is no ADA parking anywhere near the store in the parking lot. Which is already a hassle. But I love Ross usually. Today I park and walk in and shop around. I find a few things I need that I can't carry. So I put them in a cart. Well when I try and leave with what I purchased I couldn't take the cart out of the store. It's a regular cart. Not an electric powered one. As an American with disabilities I cannot carry items that are not in a bag. I have issues walking and carrying items causes me to fall. When I tried to take the cart outside it hit the part that blocks them and the cashier yelled at me that the carts don't go outside. Just the way she yelled at me made me feel embarrassed. So I asked her how exactly do handicap people get their stuff out of the store. She said you can pull your car up in front. So I went and did that but it's red so they're advising me to park in a red zone because they don't have any carts that can go outside. They're advising me to break the law so that I can get my items in my vehicle that I still can't carry even out to the side of the road. Nobody at the time offered to help me out once I brought my car up there. They just told me that I could bring my car up there and that was it.. I bought a hamper and trash can. So even though the items were not heavy, they were large and because of my disability, I'm unable to carry them. I should not have to bring someone with me in order to go shopping. I was completely embarrassed and in tears by the time the manager came out. It is discriminatory that there are no services for disabled guests. I would've had absolutely no problem if I've been able to take my car to my vehicle. Ross can do better. I also talked to the manager about the parking lot having no handicap parking anywhere near the stores. The manager advised me that she would pass my complaints onto the property manager. I'm not exactly sure what the law is, but I'm pretty sure you need to provide adequate handicap parking , when you have such a large shopping center. You can't just have a few spots at one end of the shopping center and nothing else. I don't know too many handicap people that can walk an extra 10 stores down the road in order to get to a handicap spot. read more

I hadn't been into Ross since the big remodel of Gateway. A friend recommended them for cheap designer baby shoes, so I thought, what the hell. I'll give it a try. I kind of liked this store before the remodel and move. It was definitely bigger. Now it has a sterile feel to it. It basically is laid out the same as Marshall's and is just as boring. As soon as I walked in, there's a woman standing at the door (5 foot 5, no more than 125 pounds) with a jacket labeling her as a Loss Prevention Officer of Ross. She's standing there with the stereotypical bouncer pose, hands behind her back, feet shoulder width apart. First off, if she's attempting to be intimidating, she needs to gain some weight. Second, she's greeting customers, although some bouncer-wannabe isn't exactly welcoming. I go to look at baby shoes. I wanted them for a craft project. I'm going to turn them into pin cushions for people who sew. Plus, they'll look adorable on my sewing table. I didn't want to pay a ton of money, given that's what I want them for. I was one of like four people in the store earlier, and another employee walked around me in the baby section like four times. It reminded me of vultures circling their prey or a dead animal. It was a little creepy. Don't they have cameras for loss prevention? I have zero intention of stealing, and have worked in that field myself. Plus everything has those ink clip things on them. Where if you try to take it off without proper tools, it explodes dye all over. So I find the shoes I wanted, They're adorable baby Converse, I proceed to the cashier. Once I reach them, I'm suddenly in the middle of a sorority house. Employees, including the so-called LP woman are having a giggle fest. I heard all about some party they'd gone to, when it was break time for the second cashier, etc. The cashier who checked me out had absolutely no personality when it came to dealing with customers. Barely said hi before going back to giggle with her sorority sisters, told me to take my own receipt from the printer, which is like the epitome of lazy in my mind, and plops the bag in front of me. No thanks, have a nice day, fuck off, nothing. Just back to chatting with the other employees. Would I return? No. simply, no. There's nothing to bring me back in. I liked the price of the shoes I found, but that's where the happiness ends, and why it gets 2 stars instead of only 1. Their creepy, overbearing attempt at preventing theft was enough of a turn off, which I could have overlooked if their employees had a personality and were helpful. No such luck. So there's nothing to bring me back in. Next time I have an itch to check out Ross, I'll go try the one at VRC. Review 1 of 2017. read more

I didn't even know that Eugene had a Ross. I thought that Ross stopped mid way through the states, but I was wrong, and happily so! If you've been following me, you know that if there's a ROSS, I'm going to find it. I LOVE bargain shopping. This store was neat and clean, full of merchandise, which is surprising when it seems that a lot of stores have less and less these days. I was impressed with their selection and was able to get a few new shirts, an ice pack for my neck as well as a gift for my mom. All in all, if this were near me, this would be my ross. read more

I bought a wall shelf from them a few days ago. And normally I get my shelf's at Walmart and I have had this issue before and Walmart told me I can't get my money back and that it was my fault. Anyways the issue with the shelf was that there was a loose screw on it and I knew it was, so I was going to have my partner look at it before I hang it up or anything, just to see if it was fixable. Turns out it was not fixable so I call Ross, I told them the situation and the guy on the phone was very nice and helpful. So I love Ross and almost all of the ones I've been to have very pleasant customer service. When stopping at this I would say turn around and don't waist your day. Good staff is representation of the management. The management at this location is very poor with an extreme lack of leadership. I watched one of the managers belittle a transgender to no extreme for having to many clothes in her cart. The whole line of 17 people (with 9 staff members walking around and only 1 checkout open) witnessed this. I understand there is a lot of changes happening but in no way shape or form should someone ever be belittled. Shame on this manager! read more

I just wanted to get a quick purse, that I can sling across my shoulder than can carry what I want. I didn't think I'd need it, but here I am shopping for one, that I already have back in Portland. They are dirty, and didn't have a good selection! I came, I found (I have no choice, the best I could find and the color but I have to have it) and left. The tall cashier (pretty though) was not friendly but she's fast, faster than any Ross cashiers I've ever been to in Portland. I could have gone to Kohl's further down the mall, but I know I'd find something without going through the whole store @ Ross. And I did! read more

Big huge store with really good deals on things. I went in because my daughter said she got a great deal on a suitcase. I found a super light Samsonite on sale for 69.95. It actually was a carry on and weights no more than about a pound. In Samsonite store they were over $200. cashiers were friendly and store is huge. Love my new suitcase. read more

In my opinion, this is the better of the two Ross stores in town but not by much. They just tend to have some better furniture and home good items here but it is always so picked over and sometimes the items look like they are falling apart. I even picked up a dress and it had makeup on it from someone trying it on, gross. I've never had any issues with the staff but I also try not to come here too often. This Ross sits in Gateway shopping mall next to many other stores and while the parking lot is big, it can get a little hectic with people rushing into the stores and the mall. Messy store and you never know what you'll get. It's organized chaos to an extent. Always greeted when you come in and plenty of registers and changing rooms. I was standing at the jewelry counter waiting for a customer service representative to come and open the counter because the poor girl at the front checkout wasn't left a key. After about like 10 minutes a lady came around the corner, helped me, and told me to stand in line. Apparently I was standing in the wrong lane, so the lady yelled at me and told me that I needed to go to the other line and made me feel embarrassed. By this time there's 10 people in line and I have been waiting for a long time. Only 2 cash registers open when the line wrapped around plus more ..there was plenty of people working the floor why couldn't they pull someone else to do at least another register or the manager herself help out. I cannot believe the awesome deals that you can get at this place! I bought a set of Rachel Ray pots and pans that I had paid $185 for on sale for my brother for Christmas, for a mere $99! That means I had plenty o dough to look for shiny, sparkly things to spend my money on. I wandered over to the shoe section and they've got name brand running shoes, pumps, wedges, flip flops and more. Not to mention I got some great nike running socks for $3/3 pairs! Right off the bat, one is "greeted" with a none-too-subtle "don't fuck with us" tone... "friendly" enough, but definitely indicative of how often they're clearly targeted for theft. This being Springtucky, I suppose they get their fair share of tweakers. Can't be scoring meth sans pants, right? ;) Beyond the keepers of the gates, the experience wasn't bad: a sizeable array of clothing, and a great deal of crap in the back. Though I did find that some of it was groovy enough to keep the score above average... examples include a Paris-themed TV tray for $7, and a gold-glitter Eiffel Tower print (they seem to think France really sells there). Also other things I happened to like, such as wrought-iron coat hangers in the shape of giant keys, and decorative "book" boxes. But that's all subjective, right? read more

Definitely experienced better Ross Dress For Less stores. I wasn't a big fan of the congested and crammed layout of this Ross. I also was far from impressed by the lack of selection in their shoe and handbag sections. There's better Ross stores out there y'all! (Maybe just not in Oregon, sorry.) read more

This store is ALWAYS poorly stocked in clothing. Especially now. My teens and I can never find items we actually like in our size, not even bras. We mostly shop here for beauty items, housewares and last minute gifts, otherwise we ALWAYS go to the Eugene store,because they almost consistently have what we are looking for. The bathroom was smelly and I've noticed they have a major lack of diversity in staff. read more
