I was super bummed about this Ross because it's closer to me than the others and I've spent hundreds here, but I'll take the extra minutes and go down the road next to Stater Bros. for better customer service from now on. They told me I couldn't return some items because they were tag-less, but I HAD my receipt. Took it down the road and she returned it with no problem. And yes, all the Ross policies are the same ( I asked a manager), so I took this as, this place has bad customer service. Coach your team on the polices please. Don't be lazy. There's no reason a customer with a receipt can't return an item, when there's even items on your racks that has no tags; Yet, you take the time to look the item up to be purchased, but can't do the same for a return?... makes no sense. This is the most unprofessional Ross I have ever been to with some very ill mannered girls working in the front where they told me I couldn't leave after buying my items just cause they had to check my receipt, but the line to check the receipt was Miles long and there was only one person doing it. Unprofessional staff. They follow you as soon as you walk in through the door, and then they will talk to each-other over the walkie to have other staff follow you around. Ended up putting my stuff back on the shelf and walked out. I would rather shop at Tjmaxx or Marshalls, I have never encountered these issues at any of those stores. Management please do a better job, and teach your staff proper customer service. I came yesterday to Ross last min gifts , my fault . But I bought a bag for 21.99 and original price is 98$ .. so I came today 12/24 to return it because it was missing the zipper . So when I found another bag to switch it out it was same price 98$ originally for the other bag . But when I checked out they didn't know the price because didn't have a tag BUT charged me 27.99 even though it's the same brand and same price . I usually find a thing or two I like at this Ross but the shopping experience is unpleasant "Hello welcome to Ross!" is what you get hit with as soon as you walk into the store. The door person shouts this greeting at you like their life depends on it, like they'll get fired if a single person slips past them without this annoying and obnoxious recognition of your presence. The greeting is never friendly nor natural. It's just a way to say "We have our eyes on you so don't try to steal anything." But this next part is even worse. When you leave, you can use the "self-checkout." Except you can't checkout without the help of a worker, so it might as well be a regular checkout. Even before you pick out a checkout machine, a worker's shouting at you once again from their theft checkpoint station, telling you what to do. They tell you not to forget to show them your receipt and "let me know if you need any help." Like this is the first time you've gone shopping in your life. Move too fast and watch the worker's eyes widen with panic that you're going to steal something. read more

I go to this location often due to working down the street & I'm always nicely greeted but followed around the store. Today I visited and the security was saying my description into his headphone, I felt super uncomfortable and was being watched throughout the store and could not shop comfortably. Not sure how I presented today but this has been an ongoing issue. Last time they followed me throughout the store and kept passing through the same aisles as me and looking inside my cart. 0/10 experience. This review is based on my experience Saturday June 22nd my sister was in town and we decided to go do a little shopping . While we were browsing . We began to notice security "theft prevention " promptly walking in back of us every 5min constantly looking over our shoulders . They followed us throughout the entire store and made our shopping experience super awkward and uncomfortable. I totally understand they were just doing their job but literally stalking our every move on every aisle is borderline harassment. We weren't the only ones who felt extremely uncomfortable other customers noticed and complained to the management. I'd much rather take my business elsewhere than have to deal with this crap. Note I was wearing a dress and carried a small bag where exactly was I going to stuff bedroom sheets and a comforter in ? The manager Maryam is a racist!( she is a brunette and I believe she's middle eastern or Indian I'm not sure but her picture is on display near the entrance) She went from being nice to changing her whole attitude as soon as my sister asked her a question in Spanish about hiring. She rolled her eyes all annoyed & then went on to say "how am I supposed to communicate with her if she doesn't even speak English". Dramatic much. Whether she spoke English or not SHE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to be rude af to my sister. It's one of those things were you know what you're going to get when you come here. Unfortunetly, this Ross is lacking and seems to be among the worst of them. Store is messy and always in a disarray. Clothing and shoes line the floor from people being careless and not having the sense to pick them up and put them back. Lots of items are picked through and as much stuff as there is in the store, it seems like they almost never have anything at the same time? Check out is a mess, people don't get how self checkout works and there is never a worker there to remove the security tags. I end up doing it myself or someone notices and actually walks over like oh yeah, I work here in this spot and decides to work and not stand around yelling or gossiping with another co-worker. I was just humiliated by the mngr Jessica and the 3rd party security ofc named Hector... I was shopping for about 10 Minutes after walking past hector ... When I saw a Ross employee I asked a shopping question and was told by Jessica that I was BANNED from the store for theft and asked to leave the store .. She told me that they had me in camera and I had to leave ... I asked all those ??s who what when where n how .. Jessica could not provide answers... Meanwhile continuing to tell me to leave for theft .. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and continued to ask for PROOF... she then called the Security who then told me that he caught me and had me on camera on his phone... He said that he had turned over to Riverside police and didn't have anymore... And that if I didn't leave he would call the police... Because I am yes .. a black (angry woman) woman I just left out of the store but continued to ask to see this "video's he captured of me... He then proceeded to tell me he had an encounter with me... After about 5 minutes of trying to get him to see "ALL BLACK PEOPLE DONT LOOK ALIKE," he kept saying he has me in video in an encounter with him personally last month... However after him scrolling and me crying in his face his did produce a video that was CLEARLY NOT ME... he tucked his tail and pulled the "IF U DINT LEAVE IM GONNA CA THE POLICE' bullshit so I left... But I looked him in his eyes and told him you know that person is not me and this is not gonna be pushed under the rug... So to the ROSS corporation. Your in notice... I have recording of the conversation and you have video. They will not place me in Ross in Magnolia riverside in 10/10/22... So this discrimination, defamation, embarrassment, and all that came with this encounter is gonna be know and legally handled..I was a loyal customer. Not bad a selection. Line took a bit long to pay but still acceptable might be because it was weekend.

It's extremely inconvenient that this store opens at 9:00 am the parking lot and surrounding area is full of homeless people besides the inconvenient opening hrs everything inside the store is just like every other Ross. read more

I visited the new location on VanBuren yesterday Thursday August 31st in the morning. I only give a 3 star rating because security is nice. I paid for my merchandise and the total was $52.11, she asked if I had the 11 cents but I didn't. I gave her $53, but then found the 11cents. She got frustrated and could not give me the dollar b cause she said that she would have to use her calculator on her phone. Come on girl, it's not hard to give me a dollar back. It's simple math. The bad thing was that the manager was there getting keys from the side of the register. He did not say one thing. I guess you don't have to be smart anymore to work in retail. So sad read more

This review is from April 19, 2024. Store has a pretty good clothing selection and store is well kept mostly. I work in retail so I try my best to be mindful of the workers and clean up after myself. I went to the fitting room with 4 items and not sure why but there was an employee there staring at me. So I smiled and said to her "Oh um 4". She replied in a really rude tone saying "yeah I can count", counted my items herself, and sent me to the fitting rooms with a number 4 card you hang on the door. I was a little offset by that so I told my friend but continued to try on my things. When finished I tried my best to avoid the employee and just walk out but she stopped me as soon as I walked out with that same ugly look and rudely asked "where is it?" Confused I replied where is what? She pointed at the numbered cards and again asked where is it a bit louder this time. I shrugged and told her I must've left it. This time yelling she asks where is it. I couldn't believe I was being yelled at my this random lady but I just told her maam I JUST told you I must have left it. My friend coming around the corner asked what her ******* problem was and she stormed back into the fitting rooms to get it. Im not sure what her deal was but you do not speak to customers that way no matter how horrible your day. read more

I tend to shop here for kitchen items. I buy my Caphalon pots and pans at heavy discounts. It's rare to find a good pair of name brand shoes and higher end handbags. The exercise equipment is also heavily discounted and a steal. They do sell Jansport backpacks but they're typically the ugly ones. They do carry some nice home items but their bedding is a little expensive in which case I rather buy elsewhere. I never buy the apparel, it's always cheap looking and tacky! The customer service is terrible: long lines and always understaffed! Cashiers do their best but can only do so much. I often see management doing a whole lot of nothing while there is a 15+ customer line waiting to check out! read more

Awesome. I go to almost any and all Rosses I come across. This one has been my favorite. Maybe because it is new but it is so clean and tidy. Nothing on the floor. Sizes are where they are supposed to be. Bathroom is clean. The checkout clerks have all been great. I've been there 3 times in a week. Spent a good amount of money. But very happy with my purchases. I was looking for a dress for nephew wedding who in which the bride is wearing black they that we wear neutral colors which I had plenty of time however the dress were not working so I go last minute hunt for a dress since I did a event on Arlington the new Stater Bros formerly Kmart anyways they were pretty nice at least the Security Guard was and the fitting room attended however some the others were not as pleasant, and they did not have much of a selection of dresses clean but empty anyway back to my review for store # 1374 on 10255 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA they plenty of dresses hooray , found one the two of the workers were excellent very impressive on the count most Ross workers are very snooty I don't know what it is about them who seem to look down on you giving the impression that they are better then you however Rosemary, the cashier is a sweetheart very kind patient not rude and pushy . I absolutely love Ross and I shop at many of their different locations. The discounted prices on a variety of brands makes shopping here so enjoyable. The star is for Ross and the items. The lack of stars is due to this particular location's customer service. Note I *was a loyal customer to this location. I went to this store before and had the biggest issue returning something that had the receipt and was unused + unnecessary attitude toward me and my company. We truly felt they were trying to have some "power" over us due to the fact they are the employees and we are just customers/guests. I told myself that day I was not going to return to this location, but today my family wanted to shop there and not have to drive further to a different location. So I thought, "Let's give it another try. Maybe the workers were having a horrible day and projected their feelings onto customers". Unfortunately that was a mistake... again, not the products of the store, but the customer service was poor on all angles... At the dressing room, this younger woman was ignoring me while I waited to check out. I said excuse me, but she kept pretending to do her tasks. When she finally decided to acknowledge me, she shortly said "put your stuff on the rack". She counted and took the ones I didn't want and I said thank you and she did not reply. I brushed it off, but I left that whole interaction feeling bad. Later at the register, we were trying to purchase a plain black tank top to a "two-piece" that had no match. We brought a similar two piece that is the same brand, priced at $8.99 for their pricing convenience. The cashier didn't know what to do so she asked the cashier next to her. The cashier named Rachel glanced and said "$10.99". Logically that makes no sense, for a simple black tank top that is missing the bottoms to turn out more expensive than a similar set (with patterns) that was complete. Rachel rudely ignored my mom when she tried asking her reasoning as to why she said 10.99 when all she did was take a glance. To sum up the situation, we kindly asked to speak to the manager who turned out to be Rachel. She continued to be rude and tried to have this "power" over us by saying that it is store policy. We left with such an unpleasant taste in our mouths yet we were still polite to say thank you and we appreciate the cashier checking us out. I too work in customer service and I put my best effort into my interactions with guests. You learn to tell the difference between straight up rude customers and customers who polite and just want what's right. To the Ross employees that treat customers less than people, just remember that your bad day should not be projected onto others who had nothing to do with your unhappiness. If you are unhappy where you work, then fake it till you make it to a different job where you can be happy. Life is too short to be miserable! read more

I love this Ross, it is always full and has great name brand stuff. The price I feel is over priced. $25 for puma joggers, I can get that at the actual puma store for that price. The staff is not very welcoming or nice or helpful. I am giving two stars because the cashier DANIELLE was so rude. My husband simply told her the way she was taking the shirts off the hangers will stretch the neck. He said this lightly and nice not to offend her but to advise her working at a clothing store this is important to know. She then rudely with attitude came back at him "you can do it yourself waiting in line then" so he said "actually that's what I am going to do right now for you" she replied "good thanks". She is lucky I am a calm person, didn't say anything. Nobody specially a wife would allow this. Not good customer service. The manager RACHEL was VERY RUDE.... she treated my mom with disrespect when my mom was nothing but polite to her. Maybe because we/my mom is a minority with an Asian accent. Rachel spoke to my mom like she was dumb or did not understand. We don't appreciate discrimination and racism especially coming from management/ someone who is supposed to be a leader for the other employees. We love Ross, but as a store and their products... but the customer service at this location whole heartedly killed this location and this is not the first time we've have customer service issues here. Other Ross locations/ sister stores such as Marshall's and TJ max will receive our business. We will not be coming here ever again and you have Rachel to thank for that. read more

I visited this Ross store 4 different times this weekend using Cash each time and each time I witnessed a cash register not having the proper change to give back to the customer but only pennies in the register. When it was my turn the Cashier said she didnt have my forty cents back to give me and I said it was ok...i went back later in the evening to do some more shopping again they didnt have my sixty cents to give me I said ok again...This morning I went back for one more stop before going back home to the Central Coast,again me and my husband were told they didn't have change...i said you guys told me the same thing two other times, this time the cashier went to another register and gave me my sixty cents. read more

I'm only giving this place one star because my Husband and I found a pair of slippers cause we dont walk on our carpet with shoes. First of all the dressing room employee said the restroom was out of service. I asked someone else and they pointed me in the right direction, I was misinformed it was not out of service but it was so filthy toilet paper everywhere. You wait too long for help with bags that are tied together. You also wait too long when they are near closing. There is only one cashier when there are others walking around. This one's situated in the building Circuit City use to reside in back before they went bust. All in all this place is well lit, very clean, and seem to have better stock than others Ross' I've seen.
