Yesterday around 4:30-5:00 p.m., my severely autistic son experienced a significant behavioral crisis while we were inside Five Below. During the crisis, he began engaging in self-injurious behaviors, including hitting himself, yelling, and becoming physically dysregulated. His staff immediately stepped in to help keep him and others safe, but the situation escalated to the point that they called me to assist. I arrived and immediately implemented his crisis protocol to help de-escalate him. As a parent of a child with severe autism, I have unfortunately experienced many situations where people either do not understand autism, become frustrated, or simply do not know how to respond. Too often, families are met with judgment rather than support. Valeria, the store manager, completely changed that experience for us. She showed compassion, understanding, and professionalism in a moment that was incredibly stressful for our family. She helped make the area safe, redirected customers so we had room and privacy to support my son, and repeatedly checked in to ask if we needed anything. She never made us feel like a burden or an inconvenience. I cannot put into words how much that meant to me. In one of our hardest moments, she showed humanity and kindness. Autism awareness and understanding matter, and yesterday Valeria demonstrated exactly what that looks like. Thank you, Valeria. One of the larger Five Belows. It is connected to the mall. You can enter street side or while you are shopping inside of the mall. There are registers at both entrances so there's never much of a wait. I like going in and just wandering around the aisles and seeing what I find. The manager today did her best to be fair and prevent resellers from clearing out the inventory. It's not fair that employees have to deal with that situation, and I truly appreciate the effort she made. She was also very kind and helpful to my son, who was crying because he couldn't get one. Her patience and compassion meant a lot to us. Thank you for going above and beyond. read more

A good place to find cheap, poorly made items, that will go little distance in improving your life. But if that's the road that you want to travel, your destination has to be Five Below. China is well represented on the shelves and you can expect poor quality goods to be prevalent. Take for instance a jigsaw puzzle that my granddaughter bought with some of her birthday money. Not only was it missing 3 pieces, there were 2 duplicate pieces just to make things interesting. Needless to say it was a sad birthday, but only for a few minutes. The day turned around quickly when I pointed out that on the front of the box it stated for Ages 6+, but on the back of the box is stated not for children under 12! We all had a good laugh and my granddaughter learned a great lesson. You get what you pay for. Don't expect much from products at Five Below, and disappointment will be kept at bay. There are some nice items here and it's mostly clean. The prices are reasonable of course. The checkout area is solely self check out which I despise - when there is a worker standing there who is actually getting paid, who should be helping me checkout. read more

I stopped by the Riverside location the other day to pick up some NeeDohs and dumplings. I can only imagine how chaotic things have been for the employees with how popular these toys are right now. That said, everything initially seemed very organized--I was second in line. An employee outside mentioned there were only two large squishies left, though she seemed a bit overwhelmed. When I got to the front and asked for one, the employee helping me said they were out. I politely mentioned that I had just been told there were two left and asked if he could double-check. At that point, an older employee stepped in and seemed frustrated. When I explained that I was second in line and had been told there were still some available, she responded by saying she wasn't going to sell them. It felt like a miscommunication, as no one was being rude or raising their voice. What stood out was how defensive the interaction felt. Another customer even offered to give me theirs, which I declined because I didn't want to take away from them. The employee assisting me did apologize, and I reassured him that it wasn't a big deal and not his fault. I assumed the other employee may have been dealing with prior stressful situations and was already on edge. However, the overall tone came across as unnecessarily rude. I even called the next day to check availability and was met with a similarly unfriendly response. I've had great experiences at other locations, so this stood out. It's just surprising because the store itself seemed well-run and organized, but the customer service at this location felt very inconsistent. P/s i wish I knew her name but she was an older lady.Working this past Saturday. Hopefully she gets a vacation soon. read more

There are fun finds here, but you might have to dig through some broken merchandise to get to it. Have been there twice this month and was surprised at how messy a lot of the overstocked aisles are. We bought an indoor, toy basketball hoop for our kiddo, but it wouldn't stay on the wall with the mounting tape because it had a bend in it. Basically, it will not go flat, so it can't stay on the wall. I took it back to exchange it, and they wouldn't accept it without the original packaging, which is just a form fitted plastic and had to be cut up to get to the item. I was surprised they needed that packaging for something broken. The associate was a bit rude. Well, it was only $5, so I just bought another one. But I expected better customer service. read more

Terrible experience on 11/9/25 at 12:08 pm. We purchased Peelerz Mango gummies, opened the package, and found the gummies had exploded and were a glob mess in the bag. We asked the cashier for an exchange in items for a different flavor of the gummies and she called her "manager" over for help. The manager didn't speak or even greet us and didn't respond accordingly and appropriately to our situation. We already saw her approaching with a rude demeanor. Pretty rude considering that we even gave the cashier our email to "help her" as per her request. Manager should have a good attitude and respond to customers respectfully and be approachable. It's our right to exchange items with factory defect. Her demeanor was demoralizing . read more

Thai store has had its ups and downs but the new manager has really turned it around. It is now clean and organized and you can actually walk through without tripping over anything. I am a older woman who don't get around easily and they are always willing to help me find the things I need Even shop with me and spend time with me. read more
