Won't shop here again. I have only been in this store 3 times since it opened at this location as the selection, quality, and store cleanliness are all subpar. I shop regularly at TJMaxx across the street which is definitely more reliable. My wonderful lemon press that I use daily broke and I needed a replacement fast. TJMaxx had none so I tried Ross and bought this one. Unfortunately it didn't work as the top part of press doesn't go down far enough. Further, what juice it did extract poured over the side of the press. They refused to take the press back cause it had been opened from the cardboard holder. I've never heard of such a thing before. So buyer beware. If you buy defective merchandise here, they don't take it back! read more

My wife and I frequent this Ross location and have never ran into an issue. Recently, during a busy rush, the manager went out of her way to help my wife and I find exactly what we were looking for. When we entered the store last night, we were greeted right away. As we walked through the store, we kept noticing how clean and orderly it was. Employees were cleaning shelves, straightening products and happily helping customers that needed assistance. This was the nicest Ross I've ever been in. Well done, keep up the good work! read more

The Manager is out of control. I've never experienced such rude behavior and treatment towards guests. I went shopping tonight. And was told I had 5 mins. I said no problem. I was in line exactly at 5 mins. Myself and one of other customer. Over the loud speaker he announces our cash registers are closed get out! And yells to three other guests on the other side of the store to get out there closed. I totally thought he was joking. And I was standing in line. Then he berates me for being 2 mins late in line. I told him I was exactly there within 5 minutes like previously said. And he continues to harass and berate me and the other lady in line. I asked him multiple times if wanted me to leave. And to please stop being rude, that I was getting anxiety and visibly shaking. But he continued, to explain to us we are the reason he hates his job, that customers aren't always right, that we were in the wrong for him still having to be at work. Then he apologizes and says that he was having a bad day, like it was an excuse to take his emotions out on guests. Then he'd take it all back and get mad at us again. It was crazy. I started recording for my safety, and will be sending the video to corporate. It's wild that you have someone so mentally unstable and no regard for customer service running your store. I went to this location with my friend the other day and one of the employees (she has a blonde bun and she's a bigger girl with glasses) she was following me only me an African American female who looks different with a different skin color out of everyone in that store,she forced me to throw away my drink she talked to me so rude as soon as I came in the store so much so a customer called her out because she was making us uncomfortable and we were not able to finish shopping because she forced us to try on the clothes and wouldn't let me try on my belt with the outfits I got in the dressing room and kept watching the doors as I went in to try my stuff on and counted my things but she didn't do that with any of the other people in the store and I won't forget to mention she followed us around the whole store the entire time we shopped there she also had one of the people who rang us up after we paid for everything purposely leave a tag on so it went of when u walked out of the store even though I had paid for everything and she made a petty joke saying "want me to get that tag off" after me and my friend left the store and had an employee follow us all the way across the way after we left and faked an emergency to keep us there and refused for me to call the ambulance (she was faking about feeling a seziure) and stared at me and my friend after we left and called the cops on us for absolutely nothing I showed them the bag of clothes I paid for with the receipt and they said it's not there problem and I am trespassing now. I dont recommend coming back here if you are black or have and form of darker skin complexion because they don't treat you with respect. Sadly the staff here are not friendly or helpful. Today I made a return with receipt and they made me feel like a criminal, "is it worn? What's wrong with it, accusatory tone plus she barked it requires a CDL? No way. A CDL is required only when you have no receipt and the store can keep track of returns.... I don't know about other people in town but i have been waitinng for this to open since the property owners were approved by BOS in August 2013, and after a 10 months of construction Ross store in Placerville had its GRAND OPENING On July 18, 2014 at it's new location in Prospector's Plaza which already has Kmart, CVS and SaveMart Supermarket. and across the street is TJMAXX, my old shopping place in town, without having to drive down the hill. I loved going to this new store in town, knowing that hey will have great selection of item at this location. I liked their selection of watches, one of my things to collect, and i bought 2 at a very good price. Store Manager AIRRICK (seriously, that's how his name is spelled on his badge) was super friendly along with all the other associates working that day, were friendly, cooperative and pleasant. It was bit crowded due to back to school shopping time. Overall, i had POSiTIVE EXPERIENCE shopping here. I will be going back and will update this review if anything changes. read more

So sad to be treated the way I was treated today at Ross. There were two people still shopping but blocking the entry to the line that was empty. so I went around and walked up to the TWO empty cashiers that were talking between themselves. I said "sorry I went around all other ways were blocked, I hope that's okay. " the male cashier ,Tyler, said "well the line starts over there, but okay" with the rudest tone. I said well there were people blocking the line, and he says "yeah meaning you'd be the last in line" again with the rudest tone. and laughed with his co worker at me. I caught his name then left. I decided to call to try to speak to a manager because it was so upsetting to be talked to like I was dumb or avoiding a non existent line. to my surprise tyler is also the manager. How unfortunate for the company to have someone so unprofessional. I know that if he treats others the way I was treated today Placerville Ross will lose more customers and by the looks of it they aren't doing to well as it is. When Tyler answered and acknowledged himself as the manager, I then asked for the corporate number. He cut me off saying "it's on the receipt, you can file a complaint but they aren't gonna do anything. Bye! " and hung up on me. I will be following through with my complaint. read more

If i could give zerooo stars i would! Today 8/6/22 2pm. Whoever the chick is on the fitting room- get a new job. Ross is not a courthouse. Daughter and I places our items on the rack to go into the fitting room- the lady counts it says 7. We tell her its 8 items because we dont want her telling us something later. And i had 2 items. As we enter the fitting room it is HOT, i mean no air at all not just no ac NO AIR! I get done with my stuff and my daughter hands me 4 of her items to hold while she finishes. Well i go towards the crazy fitting room lady to hand her MY 2 items and my 2 tag- and i start walking towards my daughter infront of her fitting room- the fitting room lady starts yelling " i cant let you in there with that stuff" i go " this is my daughters stuff just holding it cause its hot as hell in there shes sweating just trying stuff on!" She goes " well i have to give you a NUMBER!" So she hands me a # ZERO. lol. I laughed so hard. Told my daughter to stop and not try anything on anymore. Came out gave all the crap to the crazy lady and left the store. I forgot to mention she knocked on a door while a girl was trying stuff on and said " everything okay in there cause i haven't heard or seen you come out". What is this , prison? This location never has enough cashiers. There always slow and unsure. Its probably because the managers act like they hate there jobs so they get the brunt of it. We went in on a Tuesday evening 12/19/17 @ 8:30. Wanted to see something in the jewelry case, the manager who wasn't even wearing a name tag helped us, she acted so annoyed tho there wasn't anyone eles to help. We asked to see 2 item both we decided to purchase. She acted like we were going to steal them tho we told her we were done shopping and ready to check out. She says let me bring them to the register which was fine but then she cashier's for someone eles, tho we were being helped by her and there first. Totally unprofessional, no smile, and rude. This store has been open for a while now and it still looks like it is going out of business. It has little to no inventory. The inventory must have been returns from other stores. Signs everywhere at the checkout asking customers to take items off hangers before you get to checkout and you have to rip off your own receipt- what! What are the people getting paid for? I went in when they first opened and then again today. Last time. I wish I could give it no stars. My sister and I needed to use the bathroom and the lady at the fitting room gave us SO much attitude. We then went to try on clothes and that same lady gave more attitude and was patting down the clothes excessively. I laughed because I thought it was weird that she was doing that and I told her I thought it was weird and as I walked away she insulted the clothes I was wearing. I went to speak to the manager and she did absolutely nothing. I will NEVER go back to this Ross. I've never been treated so poorly by staff in my life and multiple people have had issues with this same lady. I will GLADLY continue to tell everyone I know to not shop here. This was the first time I stopped by this ROSS. There were virtually no other customers in the store. I didn't find things as disorganized as stated above. My complaint is with the customer service. I found a couple of items to try on and was told by an associate to wait. Finally a clerk arrived and had me hang my items on a hanger. Then she patted them down to see if I was stealing anything. I decided to purchase one item and continue shopping. A clerk followed me and stopped at every isle I did and watched me. I only carried my wallet, no bag. At check out the clerk there was abrasive and rude. Upon ringing my purchase up she told me to tear off my receipt and put it in the bag. Excuse me, isn't that her job? I'm 65 years old, well educated and now a criminal type apparently. I won't be back! read more

i went to the new Ross that just opened in Placerville....the dressing rooms were so dark, it was like being in a dungeon.....a lot of people were upset they could't take the shopping carts out of the store, especially when you've got heavy or bulky merchandise, no where in Placerville has that restriction....i heard several people that said they wouldn't come back and would go across the street to TJ Max where they can take the carts to their cars. read more

Okay as I've said before I've tried this store on more than one occasion, as I believe people deserve some second chances, well sure enough it was blown. Not only did the store manger ignore some of the questions I had he was snappy and rude as one in particular I asked where the restrooms were, his response was if you look at the sign you would know. SERIOUSLY!? I know for a fact if that was anyone else they would do something. Which is now this review. Eric is neglecting his DUTY AS A STORE MANGER. As well his customers that do come in and his store is a complete mess clutter everywhere and lack of knowledge of where his items are. This is by far the most disappointment I have ever witness being a customer and this type of service should be recognized by the higher UPS and teach his some people skills. As for some employees I believe her name was ona? Very nice soft spoken and didn't really smile but given what I encountered with Eric I believe she improved my visit. She actually showed me where the restrooms were and said she hope I have a good day she may not have the self esteem for people but at least she tried. The CEO of this company needs to make a visit because the way this business is headed from the store manger there probably won't be much business from people if the lack of structure and moral is improved A LOT. I was so excited to get a Ross in Placerville. Have shopped there for years (in other cities) and always been pleased. Sadly, that is not the case with the Placerville store. I will start with the good. The two staffers I interacted with (the only two I saw the whole time I was in the store!) were cordial and tried to be helpful. Now for the rest... The clothes were some of the ugliest stuff I have ever seen in my life. The impression given was that this is what is left after the "rack" stores give up. Many departments had 1 of an item on the shelf... in fact the toiletries area literally only had 1 of each item on the shelf. What if you wanted 2 (as I stated earlier there were only 2 staffers in evidence)? It seems much of the store policy is set for "store" convenience rather than customer service. They use a self swipe credit card system. I write on all my credit cards to ask for i.d. but if they never look at the card... I can tell you I would be very upset with Ross if someone used my stolen credit card in their store. Secondly, you can not take the carts out to your car. I had some bulky items and it would have been so much easier to get them to my car with the cart... even if I did pull up front to load. read more
