This was my first time at this location. We went to look for a few items that we wanted to get for the Halloween season. I was not lucky enough to find what I wanted, but there was a great selection of Halloween items. We also went in to look for some shoes and we were very lucky to find a lot of great namebrand shoes for great prices. The store was a little bit in shambles. It was very messy. I love the costumer service here in Brea. Everyone is so helpful and kind. A worker let me look at new released items to see if I could find my size. I got it at Ross LOL! That commercial always comes to mind when I shop here anyone else? Lol! Wanted to stop in to get a yoga mat and to just walk around and see what they had. Baby girl found some cute sandals. When we walked in we were greeted by the security guard walked through it seems so much more empty than it used to be since the last time I was there. But they still had some decent stuff and everything was spaced out enough so it didn't look cluttered. Pretty fast and quick shopping experience, I like coming here it's close by and convenient. Does Ross Management read reviews? If so, I'd like to let you know associate # 481439 (50 to 60 something year old Hispanic woman with curly short hair) needs to be retrained on customer service. I understand working as a cashier is not easy. And I get it that maybe she's had bad encounteres and experiences with other customers who take advantage of returns but you shouldn't treat every customer the same way. She was not happy to assist me when she saw me approaching her counter with a return bag. She sniff checked, flipped my returns inside out and had a nasty attitude. I'm just an innocent happy Ross shopper that doesn't use fitting rooms and often buys whatever I like then bring back what doesn't work out within a few days in their ORIGINAL condition. She tried to accuse me of retagging clothes and saw a pet fur and said it's trash. I told her I wanted to speak with a manager and she said she is a manager (I don't think she was) but she then quickly accepted my return. I told her if she refused my return I would just take it to another store. Encounters like this make a lasting impression. I had to go to Party City to get a cowboy hat for a company BBQ. When my wife found out I was going there, she asked me to pop in at Ross to pick up some sippy cups for our 4 year old (it's really the small water bottles with the flip top lid, but we call it sippy cups). I agreed since I was already there. Unlike other Ross stores, this one was open and spacious. It wasn't cramped or packed with racks and shoppers tripping over each other. It was clean, well laid out and spacious. In fact, I had to do a double take when I first entered to make sure I was at a Ross. I couldn't find the sippy cups so I asked the lady by the fitting rooms for help. She was very polite and kind and actually walked me to exactly where the sippy cups were! No pointing and saying "over there..." And check out was extremely quick with only a short wait. Mind you, I came by on a weekday at around 1:30 pm, so I'm sure my visit isn't representative of evenings and weekends. But even so, the La Habra store seems to be always busy and it's way more crowded and cluttered. The selection was comparable to the crowded Ross' but the experience was so much better. It's located between Walmart and Party City, and down the way from Home Depot. You could spend an entire afternoon here shopping between these stores. But they won't be as open and clean as Ross. read more

The rudest staff of any Ross. I did a return with the tags still on the shorts and everything and was fully interrogated. Associate 2444075 refused to even acknowledge my existence once the return was done and when I asked if we were finished wouldn't even look at me to hand me the receipt. Literally looked down it shoved it in my hand. I've shopped for years at Ross and this was only my second return due to fitting rooms not being open at time of purchase. There was a crazy police arrest outside of the store in the parking lot with dogs and tons of undercover cops surrounding a vehicle and they literally locked the door in my face. As I had my hand on the door the employee looked at me and locked the door. I was scared and I had to just stand behind the stone pillar in front of the store while a bunch of guns were drawn. I'll never forget this incident. They stayed locked down for so long afterwards I couldn't even go inside to get what I came for. Cold hearted people. read more

Poor customer service! I was in line to purchase my items. Once I got to the counter cashier didn't greet first thing she said "what form of payment"? I said credit card then she says you can start swiping your card I said ok, but I did not swipe my card. She says it again that I can swipe my card I don't need to wait. I told her I know, but I will like to wait till all my things are all scanned. She was rude, rolled her eyes, moved the computer. My receipt was not even printed yet and she was already calling for the next customer. Management please you need to re-train this associates for BETTER customer service. Definitely not experiencing rude customer service here as expressed in other reviews and have been here on multiple visits during various times and days. I went into Ross to return an item and the dorky ginger with the awkward beard was rude as heck in Customer "Service". I waited at the return counter to return an item what seemed like forever while 2 employees completely ignored me and let line of at least 10 people purchasing through. I finally asked another customer if she would mind if I go in front of her so I could speak to the clerk to request a return. I mentioned to the clerk that I had been waiting a long time and no one came to help and he told me they only have one line. Bunk, I've been shopping at this store way too long. There are registers for purchasing and registers for returns. All he would have needed to say is "I can help you over here" and waved me over. I honestly hate writing reviews like this but this place stinks. I have always enjoyed doing my shopping at Ross despite it being inconsistent and many of the items are raggedy but I truly love myself a good discount. I also like the return policy which allows me to sit and marinate to really decide whether I want/need something and most often times I keep them. I have started getting into fragrances and Ross carries some unique scents and it's been so cool that I've been able to test them out (1 spray max) and return them within a reasonable amount of time. I absolutely do not abuse the system and have always been able to return the fragrances at multiple different Ross (as well as TJ Maxx and Marshall's) stores. I was so happy to have found a Ross conveniently located where I was at today to drop in with the return but Michelle very rudely said I cannot return fragrances due to the policy on the back of the receipt identifying items that have been altered. What? How long have you worked here? I asked to have the policy pointed out to me but was shoo'd away. Based on the reviews of this specific location I'm not sure why it's even still around? Worst costumer service. Standing in line to check out and one of the cashiers were yelling at us to take cloths off hangers. ( not nicely) then when we got up to her to check out and pay she was rude and very unfriendly. She wasn't even paying attention to us. There's not much to say about Ross, lol. It's a discount store and you have to hunt for bargains so it can be a hit or miss. I'm more budget conscious now, so I frequent Ross more these days in search of bargains. I must say, this location is pretty roomy! The aisles are wide and the store feels very airy. The store seems of average size compared to other Ross's I've been to... this one just feels less cluttered and more spread out. A major reason I never shopped at stores like this before is the clutter. It just gives me a headache to try and search and navigate through the messes people make. I came here today in search of luggage since my cat ruin some of the suitcases I had at home. I had to throw out 2! I have many travels coming up and so I needed a new carry-on and one that was a little bigger. The mall is just too expensive... and so I ended up here. I found some very cute luggage for not a bad price. Luggage seems better priced than department stores. I found a very cute 21" carry-on for $40 and a larger 25" for $50. Unfortunately it was not one that had the 360 degree wheels... but it was just so cute and looked sturdy that I had to just buy it. The ones with the 360 degree wheels seemed to average $60-70... so for about $20 less, I could do without the 2 extra wheels lol. I'll be back in the future in search of more bargains! read more

Very poor customer service. Tried to buy a pair of jeans but there was no tag. She asked who seemed to be the manager how much are men's jeans and he told her to use what the system said which was $19.99. I told them I saw another pair of the same brand for 16.99 and she said that "I", not them, needed to go get it or I had to pay $19.99. I went to get it and told her that was unfair for customers. It's not the customer's fault that they don't have tags and they need to check the correct price before charging the customers more just because they are lazy to go check and because they don't make sure they have tags on their items. She then said well the original price is $59.50, referring to the original store tag. I was, really? (I couldn't believe she said that) I responded that if I wanted to pay that amount I wouldn't be at a Ross store which was full of trash on the floor by the way. I used to always come to this Ross to find a new outfit for when my husband and I go out on dates. So I had a clothing amount of more than their limit to try on in the fitting room. I told the lady that it was fine and I didn't mind splitting them in half to try on. When I go to exchange the clothing for my other half, she tells me she is closing the fitting room so I need to "RUSH IT". I didn't say anything, just nodded. She then comes into the fitting rooms banging on everyone's doors saying to Hurry Up and start Rushing It! I still had a lot more clothing to try on, and to me it didn't seem fair. A customer also asked to use the restroom and she replied "Wait, I only have 2 hands can't you see?" She seemed very rude and it ruined my shopping experience. I brought it up to a male cashier and his reply was "Well I don't think she was banging on the door. And she has to go off her shift". Ok well that doesn't give her the right to be rude to customers and she could aswell have given everyone a warning or heads up before we started trying on clothing, that her shift was ending soon. This Ross is big, organized, and clean. I came in the morning, so it didn't have a huge crowd. I found a lot of great deals. I bought a few tops and a cute pair of shoes. Found the perfect gifts for hubby and son for Father's Day. many people shopping at 8:30-9:00 pm on a Sunday night. Some shelves empty but the store was tidy. Cashier was helpful and friendly and another cashier was called when the line got long. Also picked up some 4th of July outdoor decor. Too cute to pass up!
