Whenever I go to a breakfast spot, I always try the biscuits and gravy and they came highly recommended by our server. They were very friendly and sat us right away and the first thing they brought to us was their complimentary house coffee cake. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. The biscuits were as big as my face and tasted amazing. The gravy was a white gravy the kind you would normally find on a southern fried chicken steak. It was a very generous portion, however I prefer a more traditional gravy with sausage. Individually, though the gravy was tasty and the biscuits were tasty since they were both made from scratch. The bacon was thick cut and crispy just how I like it. Next visit I am going for pancakes. The customer service was amazing. Seriously top notch hospitality. If you find yourself in Simi check them out. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. No dinner service. Range: $$

3.5 Stars -- A Bright, Bustling Breakfast Spot With Lots to Love…read moreMy second visit to The Egg House in Simi Valley, and I'm officially convinced this place has serious breakfast magic going on. The staff is incredibly friendly -- the kind of people who greet you like you're part of the morning crew. Even when the restaurant is buzzing with families and every table is full, they move fast. I'm talking impressively quick service for how busy it gets. Yes, it's loud. Babies cry, kids chatter, plates clink, and the whole place hums with weekend‑morning energy. But honestly, it adds to the vibe. It feels lively, warm, and very "community breakfast hangout." Food-wise, they're doing great things. My first visit's Breakfast Burrito was delicious, and the salsa was so good I considered asking for a jar to go. Today I tried the vegetarian sandwich, and wow -- fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted for a late breakfast. The cottage cheese on the side was a nice little bonus. Coffee? Hot, fresh, and delivered fast. No complaints there. One thing I won't repeat: sitting next to the bathroom door. When it closes, it SLAMS like it's trying to wake the entire restaurant. Lesson learned. The place is bright and clean, though a little worn around the edges -- kind of like a well‑loved diner that's seen a lot of happy breakfasts. Prices are a bit on the higher side ($14.50 for the burrito, $13 for the sandwich), but the food quality helps soften the blow. And I have to mention the parade of gorgeous dishes going by: pancakes stacked high, colorful fresh fruit, blintzes, crepes, French toast, waffles... everything looked so good I kept turning my head like I was watching a breakfast fashion show. I'm definitely trying something sweet next time. Overall, The Egg House is friendly, fast, tasty, and full of energy. A few small quirks keep it from being perfect, but I'll absolutely be back -- and I'm coming for those pancakes.

Lately I've been without wheels, and have ordered from here for delivery, but this past Friday we actually had a small meeting near by and we all ate in this restaurant. The food, the service and the quality were all present and worthy of FIVE stars. I had my usual Flying Fried sandwich and it did not disappoint, in fact it seemed slightly better than the last one I had. Their coffee was as good as always, a welcome beverage during a busy morning. Well played FLYING YOLK, you are a credit to our community, keep up the good vibes.

Eh. Not impressed. 8 grapes, 8 blueberries, one strawberry. Fountain drinks all have sugar except for the Diet Pepsi and the worst iced tea in existence. The most shocking was the restrooms. Omg. The womens was "out of order" and the mens stunk worse than a morgue with faulty air conditioning. My husband wanted to go before we left. I don't know how he did it. I went next and -- this has never happened to me -- as soon as I closed the door I immediately had the urge to vomit. I ran out and exhaled. Gawd it was the most horrid sulfur, rotting flesh, overflowed septic smell ever. So, today is 7 May 2026... if you go there any time soon and think you might need to "go", check in the back before you order. You might want to skip this place til they get their literal shite together!

She's so friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel welcomed the second you sit down. Carly is on top of everything without ever making it feel rushed, refills, check-ins, recommendations, all perfect. You can tell she truly cares about her customers and takes pride in what she does, which honestly elevates the entire dining experience. The food is already great, but having service like hers makes it even better. If you're lucky enough to get Carly as your server, you're guaranteed a fantastic experience. I'll definitely keep coming back. Amazing food, amazing vibes, and top-tier service every time. I already have come here occasionally since I was little considering it's one of my favorites, but now I plan on coming more often as long as I'm being served by Carly!

The food, unfortunately, is a 2 out of 5. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries. The fries were undercooked, nearly raw. The pulled pork sandwich itself was cold when it arrived. I didn't eat it. I feel like this restaurant has lost a lot of its quality. I'm not sure if they've changed chefs or owners, but the food has changed a lot. I've been coming here for many years, but lately, it's not good.
