Dr. Susan Tran is by far the kindest professional I've met to this day! I went in for an appointment just to get my eyes checked out since it's been quite a few years since I've gotten them checked. She knows what she's doing, she's kind, and she's friendly! If there's anything you don't understand about any eye issues or if you have questions about preventing bad eyesight, she seems to have all the answers. My sister took our mom here to get her eyes checked after getting cataract surgery. One of my mom's eyes is permanently damaged and my sister asked what could have been the cause for it. She said that damage like this could have been from previously owning chickens or a type of bird in her early years that could have caused bacteria to damage that eye. Lo and behold, my mom told her that her brother used to have birds for pets when she was younger! I 100% recommend seeing Dr. Tran for any of your eye needs. read more

Look no further, young grasshopper! Dr. Tran is on a whole new level of care. What may seem like a normal optometrist will shock you when she remembers all the details about you. Not in a creepy way though. Lemme give you an example: she has me what I do and what school I go to and I replied with Nursing. Instantly, she suggested for me to wear daily contacts instead of bi-weekly's because of the germ-y environment that I deal with. How thoughtful :) I tell her small little details such as the type of sunglasses that I like to wear and she remembered every detail such as "light and doesnt touch your cheeks." It's awesome; she doesn't make you feel like you are just a walking pile of $$$, but someone she cares for. Another brownie point goes to the fact that she is definitely NOT pushy when it comes to purchasing new frames or glasses. When I told her what kind of sunglasses I liked, she suggested to just try out some of the frames that she recommended for funsies. Dr. Tran also emails you back for a follow-up to see how your new glasses or contacts are working for you. She makes you feel like she still cares even after you leave the building. I can't say any other doctor has ever given me that kind of care. She will make things right for you and you won't leave unhappy at the end of the day. This review is way overdue as I've been here a few times and had my review in draft for a while but after my most recent visit I had to make sure I got this in! 1st off the office is awesome! Nice and clean (especially the restroom), family friendly with the TVs and constant movies or shows playing for the kids. They even have charging a charging station for your phones which I thought was cool. The eyewear selection is pretty awesome also as they carry more of the high end/popular brands and styles which is the only problem I had with my previous optometry as I felt the eyewear selection was for 40+ year olds which made it hard for me going there from like 15yrs old on up lol. The staff is always awesome when I come, especially Ana! She was super helpful in both suggesting frame types that go best with my face shape and then the best looking frames when tried on. She also took care of me when I needed my frames adjusted from my big head stretching them outward lol. Last but not least Dr. Tran has been phenomenal in all my visits so far. Her great attitude and professionalism is always consistent. And what locked me into bringing my family here from my first visit on is how thorough and efficient she is. I had an eye incident a while back that got treated and healed but I didn't fully understand what happened at the time. Dr. Tran examined my eye and was able to explain not only what the effects were on my eye from the incident and how it was treated, but also get me excited on the healing process it has taken. I've had two annual exams with Dr. Tran, and my only regret is not finding her sooner. She has a great office team, with receptionists that are always professional and never rude or impatient. I've sent emails back and forth and have called many times (yes, I've been THAT kind of patient), and they were always friendly and helpful. You don't always get that sort of office culture at the doctor's office. But you know that a solid team is the byproduct of a solid doctor. Dr. Tran is what I believe to be a rare gem in the healthcare profession. She has an open line of communication where she allows and encourages you to email her (personal email) or text her should anything come up. I had raised an issue with my eye that I had had but never raised with my previous doctor (he wasn't the type who asked). Dr. Tran went out of her way to figure out the diagnosis and if I had any serious condition that was linked to the eye issue. She helped me in making many recommendations for me to check with my general physician for these potential conditions. I contacted her personally often after my first annual exam with her, and she supported me through providing suggestions for next steps and even sent direct emails to my physician's office for blood test requests. She really goes above and beyond. She is very honest about her reasons for certain suggestions and also about the pricing of buying contacts/glasses through their office. I've purchased contacts from them both times and they've submitted a rebate for me, which really makes life simple. She has her workers look closely at my insurance benefits and asks them to help me figure out what works out the best for me when I'm purchasing my contacts and glasses. I so appreciate that! When I came back to her recently for my second exam, she remembered certain things that I had told her from a year ago. They were very professional from the beginning, which I very much appreciated. Ive been to may optometrists over the years (i've had glasses since I was 14), so when a friend recommended this place, i thought i would give it a try. Their office looked clean, and the decor looked modern... The staff was friendly and the doctor was thorough. She seemed busy but still took the time to answer my concerns (I wear contacts and was considering switching lens brands)... Now granted i got contacts so maybe the sales tactics were toned down, but they did not seem to be high pressure with their eyewear either. I mean, its in Rosemead, not Beverly Hills, but I was very impressed by their selection of name brand, fashionable, and stylish frames. I might just get some hipster frames and make myself more hip! Lol. But anyways, I will be coming back to look at some frames at a later point. Meanwhile, I am enjoying my new contacts, they seem to fit a lot better, and I get less bluriness too. Dr. Susan is the best!!! I've been coming to Rosemead Optometry since I first needed glasses when I was 10 years old. Back in the day it was Dr. Pham. But now there's a newer, better boss in town = Dr. Susan! [Appointments] Dr. Susan and team are extremely responsive to all modes of communication (phone, drop-ins, and online reservations/emails). I've never had trouble making an appointment during a time that worked for me. And if you have a contact lens emergency (like I did most recently), they're very flexible with drop-ins (individuals who come in without appointments and who look pitifullly in need of some eye care). [Eye Exam] Dr. Susan is extremely thorough and super charismatic during the eye exam. Not only does she thoroughly answer any question you may have in simple layman's terms but she's also so chipper that the entire exam goes by in a breeeeeze! Big plus: her staff is so stellar!! Everyone that works in this office is super nice AND super patient! Even though I came near closing time, Nina really patiently showed me how to put on and remove soft contact lenses. As I struggled each time and as the clock ticked by, she remained really helpful and supportive, without any consideration of how late it was getting or how incompetent I was. I looked up the business on Yelp and the 5 star rating had me immediately sold (along with the fact that the location was right around the block). The whole place is literally a hidden gem and I was impressed by the modern decor and the fine selection of glasses/frames on display. There was such an awesome variety of designer frames. Dr Tran and Rosemead optometry is honestly the best. I originally went here just over a year ago for a regular eye exam. And I walked w awesome specs and contact lenses. At that time i thought this office was great from the manager/secretary greeting me at the front desk, to the lady in back who makes your lenses/frames right there, and of course Dr Tran who is thorough and super sweat. Since then I moved inland to Riverside so I'm far. Recently I developed anterior uveitis. No Riverside optometrist would see me and the ophthalmologists who would see me were booked for weeks. Meanwhile my eye was red and hurting really bad. I called up this office because I remember Dr Tran saying she did a fellowship on some kind of eye disorder, so maybe she can treat my eye disorder. They said they could see me as a walk in and follow up with this eye condition as needed. Now the inflammation is going down, minimal redness, and no pain. I can't remember the last time I had an amazing experience getting my eyes checked and picking out glasses. Dr. Tran takes her time talking with you about each step and giving explanations. She makes you feel at ease right away. I didn't feel pressured at all in making my choices with what I wanted. Very satisfied with my optometry office! I've never worn glasses before, so the whole experience was brand new for me.. The office staff was very courteous and understanding. I had an appointment that required to be rescheduled three different times because i was unable to make it for personal reasons and the staff was more than able to accommodate my changes with no problems and the utmost care. When I finally did make it to the appointment, the receptionist area where you check in is nicely decorated. The whole office and waiting area is dim, making it more comfortable for those who have had their eyes dilated. The decor has some definite appeal, not the typical sterile office I've seen before, but it definitely has some character. The revisionists where super nice and the wait was minimal even though they looked busy. I also noticed that whenever the employees interacted with the patients, they seemed like they've known these people forever.... I really like being in a place where they interact with people like that, it makes it feel very personable. I was watching the business news channel when they called my name, and quickly I was taken into the exam area to meet the assistants. Again, super friendly and totally about customer service. When I finally met Dr. Susan Tran, I was very encouraged that she was quite social and apt to explain to me what the exam would entail and why certain tests were done. After my diagnosis, I was led to the frames section of the office and the friendly salesman named Sonny suggested a few different frames that met my personal tastes.. I chose a frame had them ordered and in a few days they arrived in the office for me to pick up. My other family members also come to this optometry for service. We love this place because their pricing is lower than the other optometry in the area. They have the Best warranty on anti-reflective, smudge, water, and oil coating. Dr. Pham is an amazing optometrist - she is very friendly, always patient whenever you have questions or have anxiety issues with your eyes (I know I used to), and the fact that every single glasses/contacts prescription I got from her was perfect is evidence enough of her skill. For over ten years now, Dr. Pham has been my family's optometrist of choice, and never in that ten year period has she ever disappointed. Not only are the corrective prescriptions she assigns your eyes always perfect, if you choose to purchase your glasses lenses from her, they will always be perfectly cut to fit in your desired frame and provide clear vision at all angles. Speaking of frames, Dr. Pham's office has a huge selection of great ones at all prices, from designer to generic. The wide selection available at her office means that, no matter your price range, you can easily find a pair of good looking, quality frames. In terms of her pricing for eye exams, frames, lenses, and so on, Dr. Pham is very affordable compared to other prices I've been offered by other optometrists and, unlike other optometrists, Dr. Pham does not push you to buy any more merchandise than you need. For example, her optometry office would make a lot more money off my family and myself if she insisted that we needed a more expensive frame because of some made up reason, but instead Dr. Pham and her employees (who are also very nice and helpful, by the way) are always willing to direct you to cheaper alternatives of similar quality. All things considered, that degree of honesty is especially invaluable when it comes from somebody who you are supposed to trust completely when it comes to the all-important sense of sight. Moving onto the eye exams themselves, she has a way of talking to her patients that promotes a comfortable, anxiety-free atmosphere in the exam room. She is also extremely personable and will engage in a friendly banter with you if you are so inclined. If the friendly doctor-patient dynamic is not your thing, she is always willing to skillfully, thoroughly, and efficiently give you an eye examination regardless of how talkative you feel that day. Also, she speaks perfect English and Vietnamese, which might be a draw for some people who live in the area and, like myself, have run into problems communicating with their healthcare providers (she might speak other languages, I've never thought to ask her). Before we discovered Dr. Pham, my family and I have been to a few other optometrists around the San Gabriel/Rosemead area, and so far none of them have even come close to her in terms of overall quality. If you live in the area I strongly, strongly recommend that you make an appointment with Dr. Pham for your next annual eye examination. After visiting a walmart vision center i wasn't too happy about the results that they had given so i wanted to look for a diffirent opthamlogist. First i was so amazed on how their clinic looked like, was very clean, very inviting and very classy. The doctors assistant was very nice and accommodating. I was very pleased with Dr. Tran because she was patient, informative and just all smiles!! She helped me with my contact lenses and even gave me extra ones to try on plus extra colored ones for my vacation without charging me at all!!! I have never felt this satisfied on my other visits to my doctor. Please come and check them out, you will never regret on giving them a try. They are simply the best!! read more
