Potato pave

We came to Roselily this past weekend. Once you get in, you're warmly greeted. As you're seated you walk past the open kitchen, and are introduced to the chefs as you walk past. This is a very cozy space. Maybe 15 tables, plus bar seating. The food! A sampling of apps. Oysters on the half shell (great). Mushroom pate (rich and luxurious). Steak tartare (wonderful). The show stopper was the spaetzle in a tomato and cauliflower sauce, with lobster. This looked like no other spaetzle we've seen. It was simply fantastic. And there was a good amount of lobster. Two ordered the branzino, two of us the ribeye. Our server recommended the ribeyes at medium rare, which is how I like it anyway. The steak was excellent, and the shio kombu butter on top was just perfect. A few sides of potato pave to go along. Those needed salt (plus I like pepper). Everything else was perfectly done. The desert menu was underwhelming for our likes Service was a bit spotty. It really slowed towards the end. What we didn't like was the two unisex restrooms. There is no separation from the dining area and where those are located. We'll be back. Wonderful food, super friendly staff. Plus a 6 course chef's tasting menu looks like fun.

everyone is always SO friendly and the restaurant has a cozy ambiance. although they could stand to turn the lighting up a little. i got the tasting menu which was mostly good except i really didn't like the duck confit which was burnt and spicy in a bad way. but they rotate the tasting menu dishes so i'm guessing that the duck isn't a permanent fixture (phew)

Food is amazing, it's incredible to see south bend transform into a creative food scene. Growing up in this Midwest city I wasn't accustomed to niche or locally supportive food concepts that boasted fresh local ingredients like Roselily. It's refreshing to see restaurants and customers wanting to make healthier choices, and with that comes menus that rotate often to boast the best produce and new flavors. Delish meal is always in store for you here!

Highly recommend sitting at the bar and doing the tasting menu! 10/10!! Service was top tier!

Yeah this place doesn't just know food, it respects food at such a deep level that I feel unworthy to even write this review. Magnificent flavors. Such fastidious devotion to construction. Inviting dishes. Warm atmosphere. Clean, bright, powerful. Premier service. You must go. Top restaurant in South Bend.

Celebrated our anniversary at Roselily warm atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious, expertly prepared dishes. The wine pairing was perfect. A true hidden gem in South Bend!

First experience here with a friend and we each got the tasting menu. From start to finish it was the perfect dinner paired quite well with a smooth Riesling through the night. 12/10

So we went to celebrate a birthday, friends moving away, new jobs and all the things! There were 5 of us and decided to do the 5 course tasting. The service started out great but nothing special was done for any of the celebrations. The food was good but we left and we're hungry a few hours later. We loved the wine and the bites were great! But for what we paid just wish there would have been a little more of a wow factor! For South Bend this is fabulous! Would check out again but definitely will do the 8 course.

Gnudy - delicious & very unique

We sat on their beautiful patio with a perfect view of the St. Joseph River- what a treat! There are opportunities to sit in so many places it felt a bit like a maze in the best way- so much to see! And with all of these places to sit, on a lovely Friday night- this place was poppin'! So we'd likely recommend a reservation if you think of it, but I'm certain the wonderful staff would be able to fit you in as they can! We waited a moment for our food, but with our large group, we were happy to do so as the food was worth the wait! Many of our group got OG Burgers while others opted for chicken wings and brisket sandwiches, or even tacos! They really had it all! The food had a bit of a kick with the spice, but as someone with not a high spice tolerance, it was not too much at all! I didn't get a chance to snap a pic of our dishes because we just scarfed them down- Ha! The service was attentive, but also really independent and relaxed! Cared for, but not micromanaged in the slightest! Free to laugh loud and make memories with no rush out! Worth the stop if you can make it! What a joy!!

The choice of beer is always spot on and the food and service are always a hit. The poutine is a solid choice to share. The pastrami is delicious. But the one that I really enjoyed recently was the bibimbap with brisket. It can get a little crowded, but that just says that it's a good place to meet up and get some good food.

You drive up to the awning and a valet opens the gates for you to park. We had reservations. It was very crowded. I am told it's not typically that crowded. It was hard to hear it was so loud. Menu is large. Prices are higher. Be ready. I got the large chopped salad. It wasn't that large for $18. I changed out the dressing to ranch because I did not want the garlic salad dressing. Glad I did. The salad was ok. The salami was smokey it added to the veggies. But for the price it was small and disappointing. 2 people got the prime rib sandwich and it was pretty sloppy. It's better to eat with a knife and fork. I was told it was good. The sweet potato fries have cayenne pepper on them. The chopped salad with tofu was also disappointing. The tofu had a weird bbq type sauce. The server was nice and she was fine. The atmosphere is more high scale. Just disappointed in the taste of the food and portion to cost. Cool experience being on campus but you're paying for it.

It seems like a nice place but our experience, particularly food, wasn't great. Service was good,…read moreour waiter was patient and friendly as we came as a party of 6 plus kids. What left me puzzled is food. What I loved were fries, round shaped which I thought was rather unusual and just the right amount of salt, crispiness, softness inside. That's about it though. As a main dish I picked prosciutto focaccia and while on paper it looked great, it came out very dry, almost stale, I didn't enjoy it at all. While fries were great, the portion of it was tiny. Like, 10 or 11 fries in a small plate. My partner got a chicken sandwich and it was good. Now, the kids got kids burger which comes with fries too and I swear the kids plate had double the fries compared to my side. We also got kids pasta and it was the same size as someone's pasta from our party. I mean, great value for kids menu items, sure, but I'm just not sure why adult dishes are so slim compared to kids. When they brought the check we noticed two items in it that we didn't order, which we realized after paying for it and looking at the receipt (they use portable terminals and have an option to text you the receipt). Our server corrected the mistake and refunded the difference for the two items we didn't order promptly after we pointed it out but this still left a bad aftertaste for us; we don't always look at receipts and this one would've gone unnoticed for sure, we only looked because total seems a bit too high. I also noticed that the soup upcharge on the menu is $2, but on the check it was $3. Pointed it out to the server too but she didn't do anything about it. It's just a dollar so we didn't press for it, and again, only noticed it because we started looking at the receipt due to unusually high total. Anyway, it was nice to visit, but we won't be back.
