Roselily is serving the best food in South Bend right now. Their appetizers are terrific, and their entrées are superb. We had the bronzino special and it was one of the best meals I've had all year, and the halibut was terrific too. Everything is fresh and bright, perfectly cooked, and delicious. The dessert was astonishingly good too. I just can't say enough about the cooking here. It is just marvelous. Servers are very professional as well. Great little place. Good choices for vegetarians and omnivores alike. Menu changes based on fresh local ingredient be variability, it seems. Nice local two beers. I had the brisket hash once. I ended up at Roselily via a happy coincidence. I was in town and had reservations at another place, well they messed those up and the wait time was insane. We decided to hop over to Roselily and I'M SO GLAD WE DID. We were seated right away at the bar and the service was great. I got the duck confit poutine which almost made me tear up it was so good. My lunch date got their chicken sandwich, which was also incredible. I'm so happy to see places like this opening up in South Bend. For too long, the city has been inundated with sub-par chain restaurants. I will absolutely be back and continue to sing it's praises to all folx who ask me where to eat when in South Bend. My girlfriend took me here to celebrate landing a new job. We are only going to be in South Bend for four more weeks, but I made an oath I would return here for at least one meal a week until our egress arrives, for this place is truly a godly experience. No details were left out of this amazing experience. If you have the opportunity to get the tasting menu, do it. This is by far the most innovative and delicious restaurant in South Bend. Our server was super interactive and knowledgable. I was crying on the 4th course. I told our server that the dish reminded me of a black truffle explosion, without the truffle, from Alinea. The dude is like "let me fix that" and pulls out a black truffle, starts grating gastronomic gold on top our plates, and doesn't even blink. Legendary, I will be back soon. read more

We had our anniversary dinner here and it was amazing! We both share the camaberet appetizer as then I had the summer melon salad and my husband had the clams and scallops. Both were 5 star. I had the capavetti .and he had the pork tenderloin . We both agreed that it was the best pork we have ever eaten. This restaurant is a hidden gem and I Connor recommend it enough. There are only a few choices in South Bend for truly fine dining and Roselily is right there at the top. If you like the original Render, then you will like Roselily equally well since it's the same chef. Everything we had was wonderful from the scallops small plate to the Alaskan halibut and the lamb chops. And the vegan "cheese" cake was to die for. Our server was very helpful and efficient. Beautifully decorated space (lots of art on the walls, and rose/floral and marble touches), and the food is delicious - especially the shared and small plates! We went for brunch on a Sunday. If you go online, you can put your name on the waitlist, and this was a good thing because there were 14 people ahead of us on that list. This allowed us to lounge at home while we moved up. When we arrived, we found a charming restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was amazing. While there were Standard breakfast options, we decided to go with the spicy chicken sandwich, which I very highly recommend. We also shared an order of biscuits and gravy and French toast, which sound like standard fare options but they were not. The French toast had hibiscus and berries, and the biscuits and gravy were herbed and flavorful. We will definitely be back! Roselily is a new restaurant in South Bend (shares the same space with L Street kitchen) run by the former chef at Render and you can expect to enjoy the same quality and creativity. My wife and I did a carry out order of the steak tartare, corn chowder, torta, hanger steak, short rib, and pappardelle. It was a lot of food but we wanted to try a bit of everything and we had delicious leftovers for days. Every dish was incredible and something I would order again without hesitation. Also, the pricing was very reasonable considering the quality. This has become our new favorite restaurant in South Bend and won us over quickly as repeat customers. read more

I have been to Roselily a number of times over the past year - all for dinner. It is a gem in the South Bend community and I love the new location. It is the perfect home to a wonderful restaurant. I have only had wonderful experiences with both the service and the food. They seem to do everything just right. One can never go wrong with any of their duck preparations, they appetizers are just right and the timing leisurely - allowing time to enjoy one's meal and good conversation with companion(s). I will also note that they also get the little things just right. On Friday, we had the Camembert to start. When we heard Roselily was opening in the evenings, at the same location as L Street Kitchen, we just had to try it. We spend a lot of time at L Street and can't believe how seamlessly the transition is to an upscale casual restaurant from our favorite greasy spoon breakfast spot. It felt warm, welcoming and cozy. My husband ordered the hanger steak and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Banh mi sandwich and it was so delicious that I can't stop thinking about it. We had a reservation for 4 and paid the deposit. The day of the reservation we got a very special surprise guest my 87 year old MIL. I called to add her to the reservation and they said that wasn't possible because they were jam packed. I said I would have to dine elsewhere and politely asked for my deposit of $40 back and they said NO. So they are able to fill my table because they are so busy and the keep my deposit!??!What a shitty way to do business. Or not just take advantage of whomever you can! read more

I will say today was the first and last time every at this restaurant. We went in and asked about the wait. She stated there was a 30 minute wait or we could sit at the bar. Bare in mind the bar isn't really a bar, one can't comfortably sit in the seat at the bar. We were told that there was a possibility to be put on the waitlist and wait at the bar and get everything started and switch over to a table. At that time 3 parties were ahead of us. As we watched 3 parties get seated we asked if there was any way we could either move or just pay for our drinks and leave as the experience wasn't great at the bar. To which the hostess abruptly and rudely came over and aggressively stated "I told you I was working off of a waitlist and if we wanted to leave we could with comped drinks." We informed her we just simply asked if the ability to move had come up. To which she again, aggressively stated "I already told you the wait was 30 minutes and you don't get to move ahead of anyone else" never something we asked. During a pandemic where many restaurants are struggling and businesses are relying on customer service I will say the upper middle age woman did not know a lick of customer service. read more

I may be in the minority but I wasn't overly impressed with this place. For SB standards I guess it's pretty up there, but overall I wouldn't be back. We paid a deposit for an 8pm reservation. We were not sat until 8:40. (We were offered a free glass of wine while we waited) Same thing happened to a couple who came in after us. Menu is small. Smaller than I anticipated. While the tartare and the gnocchi were good, our waitress was not very attentive. She rushed us to order our entrees. Water was not refilled. And wine was not refilled. She definitely only checked on our table 3ish times during our dinner. While the entrees were good, (pork shoulder was better than striped bass) they were not anything I would be dying to revisit. The place is small and very loud, which I'm sure for some is off putting. We sat at a 4 top and my husband sat on the bench side which made the table come up to his chest, like a child sitting sitting at a grown ups table. Maybe something to consider changing because no one likes that, let's be honest. I'm mostly disappointed because so many people raved about this place. Food was fine, service was subpar, they did apologize several times but I would have rather they had just don't things right the first time. What a fantastic local gem. We are long time South Bend natives and can honestly say this is the most exciting high-end restaurant to open in a long time. The menu is inventive, the preparation/cooking is five star, surroundings unpretentious, and will leave you wanting to come back. Took my mother here for her birthday brunch. I had the Lox Benedict and it was very tasty. My mom had a half biscuit w/sausage gravy and 2 eggs,home fries and toast.
