We had our wedding in the area and was looking for a place to have brunch the next day and after seeing all the great reviews I decided on rosebuds. When making the reservation, the staff was really helpful and accommodating for our group of 20. Luckily we were doing brunch at 11am on a Monday so I wasn't expecting they would be too busy anyways. They greeted us with beignets and their delicious watermelon infused water. Breakfast was fantastic and fresh. Their fruit side was amazing, it was watermelon and pears! I had the salmon Benedict and it was yummy. A few people had mixed reviews on the brisket items they had, most said it was dry. The potatoes with breakfast were amazing. We ordered take-out pumpkin pie and Irish soda bread to make our family's Thanksgiving a little more special this year. Everything was spot on from the ordering and take out experience, to the presentation, to the food itself. The phone ordering experience was easy and they took my payment over the phone. The food was reasonably priced for the quality. My mother went in to pick up the food the day before Thanksgiving, and she said it was obvious they are paying extra attention to adhering to Covid guidelines, keeping everything sanitary, and minimizing contact, which we really appreciate. The Irish soda bread smelled amazing, it was hard not to break into it early! It was beautifully presented and delicious during dinner. Much nicer than our usual store bought rolls! The pumpkin pie was the real star of the dinner however, it was the best pumpkin pie we've ever tasted. They used fresh pumpkin from their farm, and the pie was a rich brown color and a had beautiful pumpkin flavor. It was sweet but not too sweet - we highly recommend! These folx are among the best people and food preparers in Amador County and their contribution to our dinner made it extraordinary. We will definitely be ordering from them again during Christmas! Not impressed. Totally overpriced. I paid $17 for a salad that was only lettuce, onion, and chicken! I asked for my dressing on the side and it was swimming in dressing when I got it. I had to remind our server to bring me my tea after 15 minutes with no drink. They are lucky they are in a good location because that will always guarantee business and that's probably the only reason that people go there. Never going back. Visited the place on our way to the Eastern Sierra's for a family get together. What a great and welcoming place to get some delicious food. Service was spot on and lunch was yummy. Rosebud's is farm fresh produce, quality meat (I'm vegan so I've never tried it but friends say it's delicious), homemade sauces and unique flavors that taste like real food verses something from a jar or can, gluten free options, vegetarian options, vegan options, gorgeous desserts from cookies to brownies to pies, great staff that is part of the family owning the restaurant and a true hometown feel. Rosebud's serves local wines, beer and delicious water infused with fruit. There are many other beverage options. They also sell local honey, jellies and jams. Stopped there on the way to Tahoe and we were not disappointed. A great family owned and managed restaurant. We started with the Spring salad and then had the veggies noodles with chicken. The food was delicious with good balance of veggies, noodle and chicken. It felt like home cooked but better and more creative that what we could do. Our group just finished a 4 day trip up at Roaring Camp gold mining co and wanted a nice sit down breakfast before we headed down the road to home. All I can say is WOW. Likely the best restaurant breakfast I've ever had. The coffee, the beignets with yummy jam and figs were an awesome starter. Our main dishes, pancakes that filled the giant plates, crispy huge pieces of bacon, French toast with fresh peaches cobbler, old school Benedict and brisket Benedict.....simply amazing. I have come here several times and brought family. The fact that they serve local hard cider (Indigene Blackberry) on tap was an instant draw for me. I love the fact that most of the produce served comes from the restaurant's local farm. There are also a few vegan options marked as such on the menu. For brunch most recently I had a vegan tofu dish with potatoes that was very good. However, I do think the dishes are overpriced. As a result, I don't come here often. read more

So instead of going to Perko's I chose Rosebud's for breakfast. As soon as we got there I could tell it wasn't a place my husband was going to care for because he is an egg, sausage patty, biscuits and gravy kinda guy - he likes a "traditional" breakfast. The menu is more of a healthy menu - which I love! Most of their food comes from their farm and the girls that were working in the cafe also help out on the farm, whick I thought was so cool! I ordered the Greek Scramble, and OMG it was so darn good! It was full of whole clove roasted garlic. My husband ordered the french toast and he really like that as well. The strawberry infused water was delicious! Couldn't believe how many strawberry slices were in that pitcher of water but boy was it good. The coffee was also excellant. To me, this is about traditional food made in a non-traditional way using ingredients grown on their own farm or gotten locally. Super disappointed. Been here a few times for breakfast and was pleased with the food. Came here for lunch. The menu is limited to salads, sandwiches and burgers. The burgers were extremely dry and chewy. The buns were hard. The sandwich was dry and was mostly bread. I'd suggest either Cavana's in Sutter Creek or one of the local taco trucks before giving this place a try for lunch. read more

The service was five stars! Very friendly and welcoming. The food was so-so. My pesto chicken sandwich was fantastic, but my husband said it was the worst patty melt he's ever had in his life. Glad we got a couple of slices of pie to go. The blueberry pie was fresh and delicious, but really pricey! Nearly $8 a slice and the slices aren't that big. Tasty but expensive. My friend and I came to Rosebud's Cafe on the recommendation of the docent at the nearby Amador County Museum. So we headed over here for a late lunch. I didn't feel like a soda, so I had water. But you are not served plain old water at Rosebud's Cafe. The water pitcher was full of watermelon slices, so the water had just a hint of watermelon flavor to it. A nice touch. I ordered the Colorado Load Omelet: linguica, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese. The omelet was excellent. The eggs were cheesy and fluffy, just how I like them. The linguica was nice and flavorful. But the highlight of my meal were the potatoes on the side. It appeared that they took some small potatoes, smashed them flat on the griddle, and fried them up. The potatoes were outstanding. I have never eaten anything like them! So why isn't this a five star review? Before our server took our order, she informed us that they were out of pesto and tofu. I love pesto. The other reason is the bathroom. While the bathroom is rather large and clean, there is only one unisex bathroom for the entire restaurant. Now No one came over to see if he needed more coffee or how we were doing or could we get you something else. Yes it was pricey but I didn't care but the service was terrible. would I go their again No they need to get it together and it wasn't even busy. We come the Jackson 3 times year. But Their is something wrong in your Kitchen because of the quality of the food is good but Bacon on this sandwich wrong ham not bacon and deep fried sprinkled with power sugar I couldn't even take the sandwich . Due to a small population and the area demographic, there are few decent choices in Jackson and the surrounding area. There are, whoever, several mediocre restaurants that stand out in a sea of bad choices. Rosebud Cafe is the only restaurant in the Jackson/Sutter Creek area that not only stands out, but would stand tall anywhere in the country. Being from the San Francisco Bay Area, with access to city and wine country dining, I tend to be a bit more picky than your average diner. While I'll certainly choke down something "palatable" in a pinch, it's not uncommon for me to find more wrong with a restaurant than right, even those included in the Michelin Guide. Rosebud is exceptional in every way. The food is meticulously sourced and expertly prepared. It certainly isn't fine dining, but the culinary experience can be just as rewarding. The family-driven service is clearly delivered with the goal of earning your business. It is clear that they want you back. Rosebud Cafe sets a bar that is beyond the reach of any other restaurant within 60 miles, and possibly much, much farther. While I don't believe any restaurant in the area will come close to Rosebud's exceptional performance, I do hope that Rosebud will inspire all of the others to do better. There is no better place to eat in the area and few better in Northern California. read more

The focus is on farm to fork freshness, and you can definitely taste it! I have enjoyed the pork belly jamwich, the benedict, and the perfectly poached eggs.
