The Rosebud's Cafe serves a very good lunch. First our party of seven ordered a sweet hors d'oeuvres with beignet & fresh fruit. Everyone loved it. The menu has a full variety of sandwiches. We had patty melts, fresco burgers, and toasted salmon with sauté onions & capers, Our sandwiches were served with tasty roasted new potatoes. There are a variety of beverages and refreshing fresh strawberry water. The quant atmosphere of a beautiful Irish pub. There is a fine Irish curio shop with access through the cafe. We all said we would return. So see you at the Rosebud's Cafe! read more

Welcoming environment. Many healthy choices, including vegan options. Lovely atmosphere.

Went to Rosebud's while in Jackson for the weekend. A lovely little breakfast/brunch/lunch place with nice variety for everyone. The omelet was quite good, as were the other dishes I tasted. The owner(?) was extremely nice and obviously happy to see more customers. It was definitely not busy when we were there. Maybe we were late to the party. I will go again the next time we are in town. Jackson is a nice staging area into the nearby wine country where we visit several times a year. read more

Pros: Welcomed upon arrival. Owners are super friendly. Funky, cheery, fun atmosphere, even down to the bathroom. Great menu and lots of specials. Extensive dessert bar at the front counter. Both our entrees stood out: Salmon toasty (regular menu item), a salmon sandwich on a toasted roll with (I think) lemon aioli and arugula was fresh, flavorful and we'd definitely order again. Vegan Veggie Burrito (special) was AWESOME. Full of butternut squash, mushrooms, peppers (jalapenos, I think), rice, beans and kale. It was a veggie lover's dream. Filling comfort food without the meat and SUPER flavorful. I ordered it hoping to find something I could replicate at home, but honestly, I don't think I could do it justice. I'll just have to go back! Cons: So many choices and so little time ;) read more

This is a hidden gem on Main Street in Jackson. Amazing menu, baked goods, pies, mimosas--you name it! The food quality is great. It's a nice space with art by local artists adorning the walls. I bought two paintings while enjoying breakfast with my daughter. Good food takes time to prepare, so be patient, enjoy the strawberry infused water and have the beignets as an "appetizer." The sweet potato hash w/egg to order on top is delicious. A side of crème fraise (sour cream) with the hash really sets it off in my opinion. I love so much about this place that it will be a weekly or bi-weekly habit. read more

Some friends recommended that we try Rosebud Cafe. We were there on a Friday and there were very few open parking spaces. I suspect that parking might be difficult on a weekend. Service was excellent. After reading several reviews, I decided that I wanted to try one their Benedicts. Our waitperson explained that some of the items on the menu were not available. Fortunately, all the Benedicts were available. I ordered Chef's Benedict with spuds and my wife ordered a Build Your Own Scramble with sourdough toast. My wife's scramble was very good. The only negative was the toast; I thought it was too dry. My Benedict was excellent and the spuds were something special. Rosebud Cafe is a bit on the expensive side. Breakfast for the two of us was over $50, including gratuity. read more

I liked Rosebud's. Atmosphere was quaint for this little town and service friendly. A little pricy - but the food was outstanding. Next time I may save my wallet and just order coffee and Beignet plate - that's a meal in itself! If you do want to go full throttle on the meal get one of several eggs Benedict plates - fresh potatoes and home made English muffins with a heaping serving of hollandaise will put you in the mood for a nap shortly after consuming. I still dream about those potatoes. read more

Rosebud's menu is so unique you will not find another in the this area. There is a lot of homage paid to the Celtic culture. Most of the ingredients on the menu are locally sourced or grown right on their very own farm. The Beignets were excellent! The omelets were fresh and full of flavor. OMG the French Toast was AMAZING! All their pastries and breads are baked from scratch in house. Can't wait wit to come back and try the lamb dinner! Service was friendly and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable and very helpful. read more

Even with current CDC guidelines this restaurant is enforcing crazy unconstitutional and insane mask guidelines that fly in the face of all common sense. While most places you go right now don't care if you wear one or not, these people still make you wear one of you get up out of your seat, walk to the table or bathroom, and want kids to wear them too. No thank you. I'm done playing make believe, as are so many others, and I will take my business elsewhere... read more

Hands down the best restaurant in Jackson by far. Everything is homemade, and of course, most of the produce, meat and eggs are from their ranch. The portions are huge and unique and no pre-made food from Sysco on their menu like so many others. Mary, the owner is a wonderful person and they promote acceptance and diversity, which, in reality, helps set the tone for the town and beyond. read more

My second visit and this place does not disappoint Excellent curry risotto I had chicken instead of the tofu. Great Irish soda bread and the homemade pies are excellent. Expect a wait on busy days. I'm not giving it five stars because not all the staff is that great for example we had walked in well before a local couple and there were seats for us but one of the other waitresses even after I said that we had arrived first and it's first come first serve she still sat at the other party and took their order while we sat looking at our table. She frowned at us the entire time we were there. Thankfully we had a great waitress I'm just glad that we didn't have the sourpuss. In reading some of the reviews of this place we are not alone and getting the sourpuss face from the one woman. read more

Well, hello there Rosebud's. As we ate breakfast, it hit me. If this restaurant were located in San Mateo, Burlingame or possibly even in SF, there would be a line around the corner and you'd have to show up at 7:30 a.m. to enjoy the great food! My folks have a place up the hill in Volcano and as we approached Jackson, we were starving!! I've been to the same ole spot down the road a dozen times and wanted to try something new. So glad we did!! This place is clearly right out of the late 70's Berkeley playbook. Very simply decorated, funky, hippy vibe, piano player entertaining the diners and a very nice atmosphere. But, is the food any good?? It sure is!! They have a very inviting menu of items that all sound so delicious. I wanted to order every last item, but we both managed to keep it simple with breakfast sandwiches. Perfectly cooked eggs, warm, melted cheese, crispy and fatty bacon atop warm, fresh bread. My wife had the biscuit and I had the focaccia. The focaccia bread was fresh and I could taste the rosemary and herbs. Such a wonderful touch. Fresh squeezed OJ was absolutely refreshing and the double espresso was strong. The flavors were not so great on the espresso, but I just needed the jolt. I can't wait to come back and try the lunch offerings. Oh, and to try something different for breakfast. Oh, oh and to try some of the homemade pies!! read more

This place always feels like home to me the owners/staff are so nice and friendly and the food is always made with home grown farm fresh love. My go to are always the pancakes they are so fluffy and delicious with homemade syrup. (Dreaming about them now) This place is truly a Gem for Jackson. read more

We had a great brunch at this cute cafe. The decor was colorful and eclectic. Check out the sled above the piano when you enter the dining area! They were moderately busy for Friday mid-day but we were seated and had our drink orders taken immediately. Service was friendly, but a bit slow and forgetful at times. We ordered French toast, vegan Greek scram with tofu and one of the Eggs Benedict specials. It took about 20 mins for our first two orders and an additional 5/7 mins for the eggs Benedict. Everyone enjoyed their meals, although the prices were too high for the portions served. read more

Was headed home from Tahoe and was looking for the best place to eat in Jackson. I was so happy to find this little funky cafe. The menu is a pretty decent size so I was so t sure what to get. The waitress started me off with amazing coffee. This was no farmer bros coffee. They get it from a roaster in Sacramento. I chose to start with the Monte Christo sliders. Then have the Salmon Benedict. This was the only negative to the experience of my trip. It was a good 30 minutes till the food came out. But, let me tell you how worth it was. Almost everything comes from local farms. The note Christo was AMAZING. the jam, the ham, the onions. The sugar dusted on top. Even the little flower made this plate amazing. The flavor was so good. The appearance was beautiful. Then I got to dive into the salmon Benedict. Only thing I would of changed is to not have to Swiss chard. Little too tough with all the soft textures from tomatoes and soda bread. Great portion, salmon was cooked perfect. I did love the smashed roasted spuds as a side. Ask for the creme mustard. That stuff was like crack. I dipped everything into it. Jackson you have a special little place here. I'm very jealous. read more

Oh. My. Goodness. I got the 1894 Benedict and my friend Hilary got the classic Benedict and OMG. SO GOOD. Definitely a pick me up for a thirsty Thursday morning. this food came from heaven or something. The waitresses are friendly and the atmosphere is old timey feeling and classic historical restaurant, BUT WITHOUT THE PREJUDICE. The gender neutral restroom with safety pins promoting acceptance and safe spaces for LGBTQ was the cherry on top. I will always come back to this place. 10/5 stars. read more

Super cute little cafe. The service was very friendly and the Beignets are to die for! The presentation is adorable as well. I ordered a tofu breakfast burrito and specifically asked the server if there was vegetables in it and she said there was a ton. I did not want to eat tofu, black beans and a chimichurri sauce in a tortilla. I was really hoping to have tomatoes onions mushrooms maybe even potatoes. When I got the burrito even though I had added avo, it was literally tofu and black beans and that was it. It did not have much flavor and the tofu was super firm and chunky. I would have asked for them to take it off since I only ate 2 bites but I was in a hurry and had already paid for my meal before it even got to the table. I would still come back here but I highly do not recommend the tofu burrito. read more

The food was out of this world. Each dish is a food explosion to my taste buds in a wonderful satisfying way. My friend had the crab cakes Benedict with smashed potatoes and I had the sweet potato hash, they we both great. We started with beignets that rival the best in New Orleans. Their selection of baked goods was overwhelming. The services was warm and friendly. The surrounding cute and clean. I have traveled all over the US from coast to coast. I would definitely eat here again. Rarely is there a food place with attentive servers, yummy looking food, welcoming ambiance, and neatly kept up surroundings. Cute, quaint, darling place with amazing food all made fresh with their farm grown ingredients or locally grown. Came to town unexpectedly as our air conditioner broke on a hot July day so needed to pick one up in Jackson Ca. Checked yelp reviews for where to eat and Rosebud's really stood out. Very nice servers and friendly when I needed to check on allergy friendly foods on the menu. Was able to share a blueberry pie with my husband as the server graciously checked on it being dairy-free. I really appreciate the care as not all restaurants are kind in regards to food-sensitivity. Thank you for being in Jackson and doing that thing you do, so well! Highly recommended!!! And yes, that fruit infused water was so good as many have mentioned here :) read more

Hmmm, I think this is one of the few instances that you really can't trust the average Yelp rating. 4.5 stars at this time is really misleading, but I can see how it can skew that way with only 89 ratings. I don't think Rosebud's was bad, and I felt the experience over all was pleasant, but not worth even a 4 star rating. There is a sense of nostalgia being in Jackson, where the streets look straight out of a 50's show and everybody is pleasant. Gosh, we were here President's day morning and the business owners were out planting flags along the street. It was a quite a site to see being from the Bay Area. The Cafe itself fits right in there with the old town feel, with a nice personable service. Farm to Table dining is a bit thing and I'm all for that, I think the fresher the food the better, but it was almost the equivalent of giving a 9 year old oil paints. The Bad: The scrambled eggs were beaten and overcooked, starting to get the rubbery feel. The bacon was over fried to an unrecognizable bark looking stick. And I thought they made a mistake and gave me a pita instead of a biscuit, that how unfluffy it was...(I was sad, fluffy biscuits are one my favorite things, and bacon is my favorite thing). The Good: I had some of my friend's potatoes, and those were really good. Good seasoning and the skin was nice and crispy. The coffee was pretty good, and I like to drink my coffee black so I could tell it was quality. The Service: Friendly it was, but we didn't get the extra avocado we asked for and were still charged, and it took a while to get the drink orders straightened out. Overall a nice experience with okay food. You could tell the ingredients were fresh, but the griddle style cooking does not really take advantage of it you are left with typical diner fare. read more

We came here at the recommendation of Yelp, drawn in by the gorgeous photos and promise of a "farm to fork" experience. Little did we know, the time we would spend eating here could amusingly be described as LITERALLY "farm to fork" -- we were there forever. We arrived at around 2:00 pm, starved, but expecting to find a rather empty cafe given the time. We were informed we would have to wait 20 minutes. While we waited with other groups of people waiting to be seated, we watched tables sit empty and un-bussed for really long lengths of time. This restaurant is probably doing well for itself, but how much better would it be doing if they got the tables turned properly? When two large tables sat empty for a long time, I finally stood up to point out to one of the staff that if they could just clear one of those tables, we would sit there, but the girl behind the counter thought I had just walked in and told me the wait was 45 minutes. I told her no, we were in fact next in line to be seated. She was totally confused for some reason, but finally managed to get a table cleaned off. We probably waited 30-35 minutes to be seated. We were seated and given water, but then no one came by again for at least 15 minutes, probably more like 20. Finally an older woman we hadn't seen before appeared from the back and came to our table to take our order. The owner? The place wasn't large and certainly wasn't cranking out customers, so I have no idea why everything seemed so herky jerky and disorganized. We waited a very long time for our food. Thirty minutes or so? I should have timed it. Between the waiting to be seated and the waiting to order and now the waiting for the food, I had to keep apologizing to my husband for insisting on choosing this place. When the food arrived, I will admit it was good. I had the salad with goat cheese and beets, which was nice. The kids had grilled cheese, which had amazing bread. My husband had the Croque-le-Rocque (sp?) sandwich, and it was really fabulous. But all in all, we looked at our food and could see no real reason for the extreme hold-up in what appeared to be a fully staffed kitchen. Nothing on our plates should have took that kind of time. This place was delicious, but don't expect to get in and out of here in less than two hours. I can't even imagine what peak breakfast and lunch hours are like. read more

I really don't like restaurants that charge you for sharing. That just seems petty and greedy. At three dollars Rosebud's takes the cake on the greedy scale. The hamburger was decent but not worth $14, and the cole slaw was soured by cabbage left out too long. I'll try the next overpriced snobby place but this was a first and last for Rosebud's. read more
