Rose Tapas is a hidden gem in the heart of Boston, offering an experience that goes beyond just dining. The atmosphere is a stunning blend of warmth and artistry, with visual displays that feel like a feast for the eyes. The rich, inviting colors, ambient lighting, and thoughtfully curated decor create a vibe that's both cozy and sophisticated. The music perfectly complements the space, striking a balance between lively and relaxing, making it the perfect spot to escape for a moment or to host a party We stopped in for a drink while waiting for traffic to ease during a winter storm--not that it helped with the traffic, but the charm of Rose Tapas made it worth the detour. On a whim, we ordered the chicken croquettes to-go, and they did not disappoint. With their delightful flavor and satisfying texture, they made for the perfect snack on the road. Whether you're looking for a cozy drink, a quick bite, or a full meal, Rose Tapas is well worth a visit. We can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!

This review is long overdue as I visited in March for my birthday, but I definitely wanted to highlight the amazing staff at Rose. While the restaurant was a bit more empty than I expected, the team truly made the night special. The food was good, solid, though not necessarily standout but what really elevated the experience was the service. As the birthday girl, I was treated with such thoughtfulness. The staff brought out beautifully presented drinks and shots, making the celebration feel extra festive. They even gave us a peek into their new secondary room, which was decorated just as beautifully as the rest of the establishment. The space itself is stunning and very aesthetically pleasing; perfect for taking pictures. My group of girlfriends and I had such a fun night, thanks to the staff who ensured we had everything we needed and made the drinks look as gorgeous as they tasted. I'd definitely recommend Rose for a girls' night out or even a cute date night.

I really love this neighborhood restaurant. It's beautiful inside. They've managed to incorporate the best of both worlds - Italian basics and tapas. And the drinks are well crafted and reasonable in price. I go here at least twice a month.

Had an opportunity to check this place over the weekend. Aside from having a nicely decoration with some nice furniture, the place fell short of yummy foods (only recommending the croquette). The drinks were great but on a pricy side. Service was slow, we saw our server twice all night. The hostess at least was a bit friendlier. All the staff looked unhappy. Tip: Bring cash to save some money. The check showed two amounts. Cash total vs Non-cash Total.

Great for apps and drinks! Parking Parking is limited, it's East Boston Service Server was very nice and polite, 5/5 for her Drinks Wonderful variety of drinks, all served with great presentation Food Okay this takes the 3/5 for sure. Filet mignon The filet was served and I immediately noticed the filet was very fatty. I was told the filets purchased by the restaurants are fatty. I'm pretty sure filet mignon is not fatty at all, so the plate was unfortunately left alone. Ceviche The ceviche comes with plantain chips but I requested to replace the plantain chips with the corn chips. The ceviche was served with roasted corn over the ceviche. When the server stopped by to check in, I asked if there was a delay on the chips. She went to the kitchen and assured me they don't serve corn chips (the same one in the tuna tartare image), which was odd. Tuna tartare Delicious! Corn chips are the perfect size for bite size servings Wings Sweet with a kick! Great size wings and delicious sauce

This is a new tapas restaurant that opened in the old Jeveli's location. The restaurant's decore is modern, with beautiful art and flowers on the wall. They did a great job with the renovations. My wife and I ordered several tapas, a dish from the 'memory lane' (pasta) and a dessert. And some drinks. I'll start with the issues. The first thing I noticed is that the menu doesn't include any prices - which is pretty off-putting since we don't know what the portion-sizes look like or how to budget for it. If you're opening in a working class neighborhood like East Boston, it feels tone deaf. There are fancier restaurants nearby (like MIDA) that don't do this. We asked the waitress what the prices were and she was happy to give us a ballpark estimate - which eases our nerves. I got the feeling she was asked this question a *lot*. All our cocktails were $18, by the way. The food was much cheaper. As well, I felt the ceviche was lacking acid and salt. Definitely one of the weaker ceviches I've had in recent memory. And the chicken vodka was just okay - boxed pasta comfort food. There's definitely easy ways to elevate the dishes at low cost. For the good, we thought the tortilla with the smoked chile and gambas were excellent. The calamari was good - lightly breaded and the fried banana peppers were lovely. I really enjoyed my cocktails. Despite the high prices, they were certainly meeting the higher expectations. It's worth the cost. Branded ice, thoughtful garnish, well balanced and unique. As well, we had *excellent* service. Everyone we interacted with was warm, inviting and kind. Food and drinks came out at an ideal pace. Bravo! For a more "lounge"-type bar, I was also delighted with the music choice (mostly disco-house and chill drum n bass) - and it was at a reasonable volume where I can still enjoy conversations. Overall, Rose is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood and I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their specialty cocktails. I think if they tighten up some of the dishes, they'll be a decades-long success.

I loved the service here! We came here for my mother's birthday and we were pleasantly impressed. The service was excellent, the person that served us was very friendly, the food was good, could be a little better but overall good, the atmosphere was great, very clubby vibes, in the best possible way. Will definitely come back. Loved the rose at the end with the bday dessert

Rose Tapas was a quick stop for me. I was not expecting at all what I was walking into. It was kind of dead due to the snow outside. I enjoyed myself though. The vibe and music is good. They have DJs every other day. I ordered a Red Pill- Blue Pill drink. My partner ordered the Rose Espresso.

Spent a day in Boston and made reservations here and it was so delicious. The food was flavorful and perfect spot tapas. The ambience was aesthetically pleasing too it's very cute The only thing I didn't care for is the parking situation you have to find parking on a side street wish they had a lot

I think this is a 3.5- but we came very soon after they opened so I may update as we return. First, the decor is fun and vibey and moody, trying a little too hard, but still fun. Right off the bat, nothing had prices. We have no problem splurging on food, but do like to know what we are in for. We asked the server and she said, "oh, they just want it to seem like, fancy, but everything is between like $8 and $12". I had a little bit of a chuckle (again, trying too hard?), but those prices seemed actually great, so we were optimistic-- this is in the old Jevelis location, in a working class neighborhood-- they would do well to have yummy but affordable food in this neighborhood! Anyway, we ordered a bunch. The calamari was one of the top dishes, but my favorite was actually the Spanish tortilla! The potato, oniony goodness was such good comfort food! Everything was good, not all amazing, but for $8-12/ plate, no complaints!! The only non-tapas option we got was the penne with vodka sauce. It was good!! Lots of onions. In a good way. Our drinks were pretty good. The menu read a bit more complex than the taste, but that's ok. Good selection overall and some interesting options. And the crème brûlée was so good!! I will say, when we got the check, it was definitely more than quoted per tapas/drink. Which is fine, but... just list your prices. You're in an old divey space in East Boston. It's not that deep. Not enough to upset ME, but that could def make or break reviews for some people. We sat in the dining area but I def want to go back and sit at the bar. It looked like a really cool space! We'll be back. Hopefully some of the pretenses and kinks have worked out since they opened.

    Sangria

Food: The Asian wings were my favorite, tender and flavor with a little kick to it. The bacon wrapped plantains were a bit undercooked, the plantains were stiff and the cheese was not melted inside. The calamari was crusted perfectly and good amount of chew but there was no Peppers as suggested in the menu. I got the seafood rice which is more like a risotto, but it was flavored well and seafood was cooked good. The sangria were so good, fruity and refreshing Service: The service was a bit all over the place, there's 3 doors to get inside but the host is at one which you wouldn't know unless you walked around. There is open available seats for walk-ins but you can make reservations too. We sit down and no one serves for about 20 min, several people to ask if we got help and we kept telling them no we're waiting for our server and finally someone came to assist. Our server was nice, got everything we needed but forgot to present the birthday dessert as stated in our note for reservation Ambiance: It's a fun vibe with modern design, has lots of lights and floral colors. Latin inspired music and loud but it can be a nice spot to enjoy a birthday or at the bar. Location accommodation: There's limited parking but there some at the front and around the neighboring buildings. It can get congested as the roads are narrow so be careful when navigating

First and foremost, the aesthetics of this restaurant are beautiful. All of the staff members are engaging and work together as a team. They are friendly and explain everything to the best of their ability, or they ask for help if they don't know something themselves. The food was delicious, and I will definitely be back at some point for tapas and that last drink with the white foam and blue flower on top! However, I would like to mention that the service was slightly slow but quick. Let me break this down a bit. When we entered, we were greeted and promptly seated. Within a minute, water was already being poured for us. The waiter came over and asked if we wanted our usual orders. My best friend ordered everything at once, while I decided to order my drink and appetizer because they didn't have salmon, and I wasn't sure what I wanted on top of the limited six entree options. After approximately 10 minutes of chatting, our tapas were served. Two minutes later, my friend's entree arrived, but we still hadn't received our drinks. It's worth noting that I hadn't even ordered my entree yet. We appreciate fast service, but this was a little too fast. Overall, we had a good time! The music and atmosphere were both great. P.S. If you allow someone to walk in and make a reservation, it would be helpful to call them when the table is ready.

First visit, Monday 4/20/26…read more Visiting Boston on a work trip, I had no idea the Marathon was today! Met 4 colleagues at The Red Fox for dinner, a recommendation from a friend of my colleague. Tough to find initially and very unsuspecting upon arrival. As you enter the front door (think like walking into a foyer of a small apartment building) you go down a flight of stairs into the restaurant. Then wow, this place is awesome! Small entry way into the restaurant with a hostess immediately greeting you. The bar is your first view of the place and it was packed. I'd describe it as dimly light, great atmosphere and ambience, almost a speakeasy feel. I'd recommend a reservation. The hostess walked us to our table, walking along the bar line with small 2-4 top tables to our left, we then turned left into the main dining room. 5 of us and we were seated at a horseshoe style table, plenty of room for up to 6 adults. Service was instant, she was friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered cocktails and a couple apps. The drinks arrived along with bread service. They added small side plates with oils and olives, a nice touch. The cocktails were fantastic as was the homemade bread. A unique twist with my cocktail (kettle one & soda), was the single ice cube that was a long rectangle cube that was so clear you couldn't see it! The cubes length was the same as the tall glass it was served in and didn't melt. For dinner I listened to our server who recommended the Chicken Parmigiana with a chefs twist using a vodka infused sauce, this dish was amazing! My colleagues all shared the same feelings that this meal was spectacular. Highly recommend The Red Fox!

Their martinis are always spot on. The Parmesan martini is shockingly good, especially as someone who doesn't like dirty Martinis. The spinach and ricotta appetizer with the sage butter is so good. We were burned two times (not egregiously, but where we had to go to mediocre establishments that had seating availability for a reason), but no more. Parla isn't an off-the-charts Italian restaurant, but it was above average and the cocktail situation is excellent. I stumbled across Parla last year when we were looking for dining options, but alas, not in time to secure a reservation. The cocktail menu looked intriguing (particularly their ye olde shrub cocktail mix and match section) and the location seemed convenient. This time around we made dinner reservations about two months in advance, which I'd pretty much recommend for anything in this neighborhood if you have the ability. We came by this past Sunday before the Celtics/Timberwolves (there were multiple patrons wearing jerseys, including us) around 5pm in the rain. The entrance is a little nondescript but ultimately easy enough to spot. It's a pretty intimate interior with limited seating (maybe 10 tables or so?) and only four bar stools at the bar in the back. We were seated by the front window which was nice but again, offered at that time merely an excellent view of early spring weather. The food we had was good, and yet not the selling point - sort of a compliment, sort of not. We split the seared octopus app, which was interesting but ultimately not my favorite way to eat that particular seafood; I'm used to it grilled. We were both a little surprised to see it in salad form and had to refer back to the menu, which did mention one of the other ingredients as arugula (a fair clue). I would recommend they put the word "salad" in the official name of the app though; my guess is we probably opt for something else if we had that additional information. That said, it was fine - I wasn't crazy about the pairing of octopus and balsamic vinegar/arugula, which to me and my chum dominated the palate over the octopus, which should totally be the star of the dish. For my entree, I went with the chicken parm, which was very good - decent portion for sure and I almost finished it despite eating two other meals fairly recently. Interestingly, the best part is the sauce - it's a sweeter sauce that's thick but not chunky. Really good, and something I'd get again in a pinch. The cocktails are really something. For me, I stumbled a little out of the gate with the shrub section, opting for a mule with strawberry peppercorn. It wasn't bad but for my palate, it felt off - that's a drink I should be getting in July, not a nippy/rainy March evening. On me completely. My chum got the margarita equivalent and liked it enough to order it two more times. But I shifted to a very cool gimmick they had, which I believe was called Dungeon Master (an homage to D&D?), where you rolled a 20-sided die and had to pick whatever cocktail was associated with the specific number, no questions asked. My chum gets a little naughty with gin so couldn't risk it and had to just watch mournfully on the other side of the table as I played twice. Both of my mystery cocktails had gin in it, so...probably the right decision, at least from my perspective. I don't want to provide spoilers and damage the integrity of the game, but the nuanced layers to each drink are exactly why I love mixology/a good cocktail - the only kind of science I truly get behind. (I also liked learning about clouds in 5th grade). Very cool feature and something I'd love to make an annual tradition. Our waitress was great. She initially seemed a little eccentric/ditzy (in a good way), but it was clear that that was a mirage - she was VERY observant and at the end of the meal knew my first name for my specific credit card because earlier she'd noticed my head tilt when someone at another table used it. Really impressive stuff and a huge asset for the restaurant. She also was super knowledgeable about the menu and the cocktails specifically, and it was fun to guess what was in each of my mystery beverages with her after I took a few experimental nips. Very cool, very unique establishment. Glad to finally find a selling point for the North End.
