My friends and I stopped in here on a our first night in Boston. It was Friday night and a random find. We just happened to park across the street and noticed the bar but it was closed until later in the evening. We did did our thing and explored the area and decided to check out this spot before leaving. It's a little unassuming from the outside with the words Local Bar painted on the wall, but the little neon flamingo sign lets your know you're at the Flamingo. Walking in, the vibes were cool. They have this retro 80's Miami thing going on. It was cool. That's about all that was cool though. Customer service wasn't all that. The staff seemed more interested in their regulars. Since we walked in and used their facilities we decided just to have a shot and keep it moving. The shot wasn't even all that good. If it weren't for the cold customer service, we would have potentially spent alot more money here. It's a one and done for me! read more

Adorable spot for a quick drink! Came here with some girlfriends on a Thursday night and it wasn't super packed but still lively. I'm really upset about the way the bartender handle my boyfriend and I sitting at the bar. He was roughly 50 years old and he told my boyfriend and I to remove our seats from "his" bar. I'm sorry but u are old and this is a public bar. If u don't want seats just say that politely. So disappointing and get a life. read more

This is one of those places that you'd probably visit more for the atmosphere than anything else. I came to The Flamingo with a few friends on a Saturday night before heading out to dinner. It was already pretty busy, even around 7pm. There weren't a ton of tables available, but you could certainly order at the bar. I'm not sure what the vibes are like later in the evening, but I did notice they had security, so I'm guessing it gets rowdier later in the night. I didn't get to try any of the food here, but it seemed like a solid spot for drinks. They serve some of their drinks in an inflated flamingo, which seems to be their signature. More than anything else, this seemed like one of those places that people come to take pictures, since there was an interesting ambiance. Came here for drinks after dinner and decided to try their guacamole and chips. Drinks were very sweet and guacamole was mediocre. The vibe of this place was consistent with many of the new youthful spots opening up recently. Lots of pink and foliage (real or fake) sporadically displayed. Music was a remix of a lot of pop music, throw backs, and what you would expect as House music. Staff were decently friendly. Overall, I had a moderate experience but I'm not sure if I have to urge to come again. It did get surprisingly busy by the time we left around 8 pm on a Sunday night. read more

We got charged a large party tip for 4 seltzers because 8 people were standing around the table... 20%... to pop open some cans... and it came to $70. Wtf? When we came in we were told the upstairs area was closed for a private party until 10. At 10, we were told 10:30. At 10:30, half our group got upstairs and the other half had to wait downstairs for 40 minutes. The upstairs area wasn't crowded. There's plenty of other places to spend a Saturday night. Also no live music so that's also lame. Idk why you have a bar and don't want people to have fun. read more

Love this place!! My friends and I got here early-ish on a Saturday night (around 6:30pm) and were able to grab a table next to the bar. It only got more crowded from there and by the time we left at around 9pm, it was PACKED. So definitely expect a wait if you're coming here for drinks on a weekend. I ordered the Pink Flamingo drink - initially because I wanted the flamingo floaty - but the drink was actually quite tasty so I kept ordering more! It's on the sweeter end, which I prefer, and was very light and easy to drink. Our waitress was super nice and helpful with recommendations! I asked her for a rubber ducky too (which usually comes with another cocktail) and she immediately brought one over. Before we left, we ended up doing a shotski after we saw the table behind us do one, and it was great! I think we chose the green tea shot (?) - this was actually DELICIOUS. We also ordered some churros, which were hot, sweet, crunchy, and exactly what we needed. Overall, this was such a fun place to have some drinks! Highly recommend. read more

We came here for drinks prior to going out to dinner and really enjoyed it. There's nothing else like it in the area. Drinks: We got a mojito, a mai tai and a pink flamingo drink (the one that comes with the floatie). They were all great and well made. I also love the detail and aesthetic they bring to each drink. Vibe: South beach Miami vibes. It was a seat yourself situation when we went there so we had seats at the bar. The bartender said they were expanding to an upstairs bar in the coming weeks for more space which will be nice. Food: Didn't try any but definitely will next time. As a Cuban, I had to evaluate their menu, looks good from the menu. Will update when I try. The bartender said the empanadas are homemade in house so that's where I would start. We had a couple of drinks mid-day on a Sunday; this place is great. Miami-themed vibe, and local patrons versus tourist vibe. Our bartender was very nice, and when I asked if the blowup pink flamingos were for sale he gave one to me. They have board games and plenty of space. Its all the feel of a dive bar with a modern twist that makes the bar the prettiest dive bar I've ever been to. My friends and I waited in line for 45 minutes for us to get to the head Of the line and the bouncer said one of my friends couldn't get in then physically pushed us out. Live in the area, decided to stop by to see if it was worth bringing my family and friends here. Guy seemed pleasant and asked for my ID. Tries to scan my ID twice and immediately starts turning me away in an extremely rude manner. I ask him to call the police or a manager as I am 27 years old w/ a non expired valid ID. Him and another employee start to be aggressive so I just leave all together. The worst part is that they said they were doing me a "favor" for giving MY LICENSE back. How embarrassing that they don't have machines that work properly but also have staff that are extremely rude/lack training and don't know how to properly handle the situation. LOVE what they did here! Such a perfect spot on the midst of the north end. Drinks are great. They have a really cool Miami theme and feel going on. It's small, so get there early!
