So the husband/owner led the Rose tour this time, and I don't know Yelp: The man is very knowledgeable, but he isn't Tour material. They shouldn't have him doing this. He talked for way too long in the beginning during the introduction and it took away from the tour...took away from time we could have used walking through the fields. Save telling some of the history until we're in front of the actual flowers. We didn't see as many flowers this time. He didn't snip/cut as many varieties for everyone like the last guide. And we for damn sure didn't cover the vast amount of farm grounds like we did last time. I'm not at all sexist and I HATE blanket statements, but please hear me: I do feel that sometimes men (generally speaking...not all, though) sometimes lack the attention to detail and the excitement for stuff like this and it shows. Plus instead of being the rosarian like his wife, he's more of the "fixer" guy who handles the caring and growing of the flowers...and he approaches the tour like a fixer instead of a true Rose lover. Get the ladies back on with leading these tours. Or find a handsome hunk who will let us do the whimsical roam through the garden like a true Rose lover would. Cover more ground. Snip more roses. Don't talk so much in the beginning. Get to walking and smelling and cutting. The lady last time was perfect. She spoiled us. And for 8 dollars more (the tour is $48/pp now), the goal here should be improvement. Being better than last time. Even though it wasn't as great as last time, I STILL LOVE IT HERE AND WANT TO COME BACK. The roses speak for themselves.

The good parts: It is beautiful to see 10,000 roses blooming. They were all gorgeous. Some had fragrance(even though we were told that 90%of them did). Our noses are all different. There was a super friendly cat that let me carry her for like 20 minutes! Roses. Roses. Roses. Lunch was nice. Seeing so many roses in their cooler room was glorious! But $48 per person for the tour and lunch is excessive IMHO. And there were so many RULES! You can't walk in the rose fields. STAY ON THE ROAD because you could bring weeds! You can't walk up the steps to the top of the hill to get a fab view because of insurance purposes. My friends got scolded for sitting at a table & chairs near the bathroom. Our tour was so slow that the other tour lapped us. Walking for me is good. But standing too long hurts my back. Maybe this would be good for a casual rose grower. But we were a group of the Los Angeles Rose Society and I am a professional rose gardener. I'm not saying that we know more. But the tour was kinda dumbed down. Of course they don't know they levels of the attendees. Except that you pay in advance and they knew our group was coming. Go see their roses if you have the money and are in the area. If you are nearer to LA, go to The Huntington Library's rose garden for less than 1/2 the $$$ and enjoy !

    Beautiful lunch and tour!

After wearing my new glasses for about a month, I realized the progressive line was positioned too high and not properly aligned. From the moment she stepped in, her professionalism and expertise were immediately evident. As a pharmacist myself, I can quickly recognize when someone genuinely understands their craft, and Maricela demonstrated exceptional knowledge and precision. She carefully remeasured both of my eyes using the full progressive measurement guide, double-checked every detail, and ensured no visual space was compromised before sending the lenses back for correction. She took the time to thoroughly explain the process and educate me on each step, showing true care and dedication to achieving the best possible outcome. She spent a full 30 minutes ensuring everything was accurate to the finest detail. Her commitment to quality and patient satisfaction is remarkable--Costco is truly fortunate to have someone of her caliber on their team. Thank you, Maricela!!)

Monday, 9AM is my weekly Costco trip, I should probably only go if I need something, because, and we all know this, you walk out with stuff you didn't intend on buying. Am I right? I've only been an executive member for going on 3 years now, the first year, I didn't go to Costco, but since retiring it's a weekly trip and usually there will be something on the Costco list we need. The SLO location is great for me, about 30 minutes from Paso, easily accessible, lots of parking, Costco gas and the reliable food court we have grown to love. I walk the store weekly, never in a hurry to get in and out, but the only time I've seen it really crowded was Thanksgiving week, 2025, but even then it was manageable once inside, it never felt crowded and the check out lives, including self check weren't a long wait. I feel the employees do a great job keeping the store stocked and clean, making it easy to navigate. I have use the optometry department, which was very easy, albeit a little bit of a wait to be served. They took all three of my prescriptions and I found a frame and a few weeks I picked my glasses up. Since then, they have repaired them once, no charge. If you need glasses, get them filled at Costco, so easy, good selection. Overall, I am happy with their selection, there are things I wish they would stock, miso marinated sablefish and Tejava being two of those items. It's nice to see some new items as I stroll the aisle and overall it's s great experience in SLO. Can't forget that hotdog meal on the way out, still a deal at $1.50!

I have not seen more beautiful, unique designs. Suzie and her team worked with us over multiple virtual and in-person meetings to discuss our style and vision, create a lookbook, and design something that was really unique to us. The florals were definitely well worth the cost (and less than what other florists had quoted us) and really made our wedding design vision and aesthetic come to life. The PacWest Blooms team are real artists, just give them a general sense of what you'd like and the creative freedom to work their magic! The florals were 5/5, beyond our wildest dream! We also did month and day of coordination with PacWest Blooms. Suzie is really warm and kind and really takes the time to get to know clients, which made us feel very comfortable and at ease. Some parts or our experience felt somewhat disorganized and stressful, however, such as no or very late responses to emails, missed or late meetings, and the day-before rehearsal coordination. Ultimately, though, we had a pretty complicated wedding with many vendors, and Suzie and her team made sure the whole day came together beautifully and that we were able to enjoy it with little to no stress. For that, we are very grateful.

I'll admit, our vision wasn't the easiest to understand but Suzie and Denise seemingly read our minds and made our thoughts turn out beautiful. If you're looking for a florist for weddings or any other type of event, PacWest Blooms will surely go above and beyond for you too.
