Easy to miss entrance off Casitas Pass

Air plants have become my secret new obsession! During the pandemic, I too got the plant parent bug like many others. While driving past the countless plant nurseries within Carpinteria (windows down of course), I noticed a small wooden sign on the side of the road stating "Airplant Alchemy--SALE!" I spontaneously turned into the gravel lot and noticed a small note stating "OPEN" on the greenhouse sliding door. Immediately after stepping foot inside, I was transported to the tropics! Humidity, breeze (artificially from fans) and the smell of nature's freshest oxygen hit me. Not only are all your senses activated, but they have the most adorable and bizarre-looking plants. Live gremlins, space creatures and hairy puffballs exist within! You can purchase air plants singularly in various sizes and prices, but also as ornaments, in oyster shells, and fun formations like orbs. Besides air plants, they also sell gorgeous orchids and clay vases and bowls. I brought my mom and aunt in for a visit and they were in awe; particularly at the Christmas trees made of air plants. They simply walked out with a total of 8 new plant babies to bring home to the Midwest. The employee is always friendly and happy to answer any questions about plant care. I will make one promise: You won't be able to possibly leave without a new tiny plant creature for your home or a friend. They are surprisingly easy to care for, close to kill proof (they come with an instructional card but do not require soil and only need to be soaked in cool water for 30 minutes once a week!), and make amazing gifts and creations with the Holidays upon us. Elite Tip: If you become an addict like myself, they also have stamp cards. See you next time Airplant Alchemy!

What a hidden gem. If you're looking for a gorgeous orchid or air plant that has been carefully grown and cared for, this is YOUR place. Easy to find off casitas pass rd. Directions easy to follow on your mobile maps. Plenty of gravel parking. The owner Brian is so passionate about his knowledge that he'll respond to any questions you may have. Check out the different plants on sale perfect for gifting others or for yourself. Whether you want an orchid, air plant, empty pots or unique ornaments, yes live ornaments, cute, right??? Come here running. Prices are great and the quality of the plants are fantastic. I'm love with my orchids!

What an amazing selection of high quality orchids and air plants. The staff and owner, Brian, really know their stuff. I was so impressed with their Showroom and amazed by the variety. They also sell really stylish pots and planters. They offer beautiful one-of-a-kind arrangements. I will definitely return for more plants. For the quality the price is great and much better than store bought. Definitely will start buying gifts here.

I never knew I needed air plants until I came here! I purchased about 6 different types of air plants ranging from $3.50 to $10 (for the smaller ones). The owner, Brian, is amiable and highly knowledgeable, which is a plus. These plants are beautiful and easy to care for, and the prices aren't bad. If you're a plant lover and seeking something unique looking, do yourselves a favor and stop by!

Such a cool place to visit! The owner, Brian, is super passionate about his plants and is a wealth of knowledge. The showroom appears closed but you just need to slide open the door and bam! It's like you get transported to Wonderland! There are so many plants and decor to gaze upon and take home. Not to mention amazing social media picture opportunities. I loved the wall with hanging shells as well as the colorful orchids for sale. You've gotta check this place out!

This might be one of the coolest places that I've been to in town! Definitely make a stop here if you've never been. You'll be amazed by all of the different airplants and orchids. The showroom has a variety of cute plant pots, too! It's neat to see how the airplants are kept, some in pots, shells, wire ornaments, etc. I'll be coming back to get gifts for people here! The owner, Brian, is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Rainy day field trip, we camped at the state beach and found this wonderful nursery less than a mile away. Purchased many holiday gifts for our local family members. Score!

Heard about this place from a friend and thought I'd head over. Luckily they have a huge "SALE" sign next to the entrance. There's a dirt parking lot next to the entrance as well. The place has a showroom warehouse with air plants everywhere! The pictures do not do it justice. The owner Brian Kollenborn is very knowledgeable and helped me chose the air plants perfect for my needs. He has such a variety of air plants of all colors. Prices are pretty reasonable considering they're all happy and healthy. He also sells some orchids as well if you're into getting those too. There is a sale right now (buy two get one free). I will definitely come back to this place to build up my air plant collection.

This is an arrange I bought there. I did add a crystal because I'm into them as well.

I live near a great air plant place! How awesome is that?! I have typically purchased air plants online but really wanted to choose my own. This place did not disappoint. They have large ones as well as small ones. Typical green ones and my favorite ones, ones with flowers and some that are pink and purple. They also have arrangements I will post pictures of. They also have orchids too. I will definitely be a regular customer to buy for myself and for friends. Oh and their employee (young man) was very nice and knowledgeable.

This nursery never disappoints! Everyone in the staff is friendly, highly knowledgable, and clearly excited about the plants they are growing. The variety of color and kind is unlike anything I've seen before. This is always worth the visit, and can't wait to go again!

Airplant Alchemy is THE PLACE TO GO if you're looking for all things airplants and orchids. If you're curious about how to take care of airplants or just airplant knowledge in general, Ashley and Brian are the best! They answered all my questions about my specific plants that i bought, and Brian even showed us some of the cool airplants he had growing in the back. Overall this was the best plant nursery experience i've had in a while and definitely recommend checking this place out!

Just walking around here for 15-20 mins. and you'll feel your blood pressure drop a few notches to a pleasant state of calm. You can explore the themed areas, take in the vegetation around you, and get landscaping tips just from strolling around their property. The plant things are grouped in various climate/hemispheres and it's nice to see them taking root and being incorporated in a seamless design (and it's nice shopping experience too). There were plaques for each different garden. Plaques I noticed (though there might be more) were South African Garden, Mediterranean Garden, Grassland, Cottage Garden, Native Garden, Succulent Garden, Central/South American garden, Australian garden, and Asian garden. My favorite was the Asian garden because it had a pond with koi fish.
