I love the selection at this store. This is my second visit. I drove from LA and arrived late afternoon. I entered the store and wasn't greeted. I started shopping as it was late in the day...I had no idea what time they were closing but they were open when I got there.The couple burst into a fight while I was in the store. Shouting at each other and acting like they were on judge Judy. I felt like my parents were fighting. It was uncomfortable and awkward so I walked to the back to give them room to feud...the store is giant and has lots of alcoves and areas. Great stuff! I then asked after they'd simmered down "is your other shop open for a bit?" I was responded to by a look up and down and a " ehhhh it's between opened and closed." Okkkkkk. Weird. I then asked continued shopping and asked "do you know what this is? " and the male owner said "can you move I want to bring stuff in" I didn't move, instead I asked the price....he paused and said 95. I moved out of his way and said "I do t know what's going on here here but the vibes are insane and terrible." "Yeah I know sorry about that" all I said was "yeah it's terrible" and I left. Drove 2 hours to shop here. I will never return. Get a divorce or don't work together maybe. You guys are wild! read more

This place seems like a good venue for a treasure hunt - go with an open mind and no pre-conceived notions, and you'll never know what you might find. On the other hand, we were there several days after the rainstorms which brought the terrible mudslides to Montecito (not far up the road). Everything smelled damp, musty, and even moldy. We had our friend with us, and she quickly noted several items dating back to our childhood era, which made her smile. I spotted a lot of surfing emphasis, from the many surfboards in the front entrance area, to a general vibe. Many of the items look like they need some love to get back to usefulness, but there were others that were ready to go, including dishes and glassware. Normally, I'd browse through the bookshelves, but they didn't seem to have much that was in my range of interest. Also, it was crowded in front of that area and hard to get to the shelves. There was a lot of stuff. A lot! Someone with a trash-to-treasure mindset could find many items to work with as creative fodder. read more

Angels Antiques has been a wonderful Carp hidden gem for years on end. I've had friends buy and restore their favorite surf boards from this shop, find bikes, old war souvenirs, nifty planters, and handmade home decor items. Because of it's literal hidden appearance I tend to forget it's event there, and just recently learned it will actually be closing down shop in the near future. In the meantime, make sure to head over and check out the incredible collection of newly discounted one-of-a-kind items they have in stock and are liquidating for the business closing sale. I'm big on succulent gardens, old suitcases, and old fashioned lawn decor and this place had it all for me on a newly college graduate budget. I could spend hours (and so much money) at Angels Antiques. Really... It's dangerous. We were visiting Carpinteria and really wanted to come here as our air bnb host recommended it and we love antique stores. Well, it was supposedly open according to Yelp and the large sign on the gate that read "open saturdays and sundays". However, we drove by probably 5 separate times on Saturday and Sunday to go and it was closed each time. We even walked around the entire block trying to find if there was a different entrance we were missing. read more

Angels as been a staple in Carp ever since I remember. If you are looking for a hard-to-find antique, they probably have what you are looking for. My wife wanted some antique planters for our garden so we decided to check out Angels. She found some cool old green copper plant hangers, and an old beat up ceramic chicken planter. Both were dirt cheap. Besides all the antiques just walking around this place is a trip! Its an old house with a giant old coastal redwood out front, so you feel like you're up in the woods somewhere. They have everything from old tools, to books, lamps and decor, to plain "junk" and everything is very reasonably priced. Anytime I need a cheap antique I will be going to Angel! read more

This is hands down the best antique/funky vintage home store I have found in California. The prices are reasonable, the owners are super helpful and friendly and I have found a number of amazing finds ranging from a Moroccan Rug to rattan chairs and awesome brass French planting pots. I will be back soon. This place is better and more affordable from any antique place in LA or San Francisco. I'm not sure about this place. I had heard that the prices were high and that one of the owners was not very courteous on occasion. Well, I gave it a try anyway. I didn't mind so much when the owner did not want to come to terms on a price. That's his choice. I minded that he was insulting. He belittled me because he did not like the price I offered. Some way to develop a customer base. I couldn't wait to get out of that place. read more

Wayne and Zelda have an incredible store and one that is ALWAYS on my to do list when I'm in the area. There really is something for everyone here, looking for a harmonium? A vintage long board? I'm actually still reeling from finding this place last weekend. I almost don't want to share it with the world, but the owners were so cool, I believe they deserve the support. This store has everything I have ever wanted. It was overwhelming. A total feast for the senses. I felt like a kid in a candy store- I wanted to touch everything and look at everything and it was wall to wall TREASURE. The prices were fair. My only complaint was that I didn't have the budget to go buck wild. I'm already dreaming of going back and making a day of it. I had so much fun looking at things, Angels is now my new favorite happy place. read more

Your visit to the central coast is not complete until you stop at Angel's Antiques. I always find a treasure trove I'm NOT even looking for, from deco salad servers to mid-century Blenko water pitchers, from vintage bicycle lights to Vasarely inspired fabrics and much more. The environment is crazy, fun, very eclectic and inspires the designer in all of us. There are layers and layers of buried artifacts, you just have to look, really look! And the best part? This place is amazing !!! They have anything you could ever want or need ! From antiques to surf boards, one of a kind furniture and collectibles . We were camping at the beach and needed a fire pit . The owner was working and helped up to find the perfect solution ... We decided on a large Galvanized steel tub from an old washing machine And she gave us a good deal as our budget was low . It is a must stop if you are in Carpinteria.....
